Abstract:
Text je pokusem o deskripci zkušenosti lidí pečujících o své stárnoucí rodiče. Na základě kvalitativní studie vycházející z 29 hloubkových rozhovorů s dospělými pečujícími dětmi autorka sleduje komplexnost, mnohovrstevnatost a rozporuplnost jejich prožívání této životní etapy. Ambivalence a dualita života pečujících je konkrétně dokumentována na vnímání motivů k péči, na dopadu pečovatelské zkušenosti na život pečujícího a při ukončení péče. Prostřednictvím analýzy vlastních dat vyslovuje autorka podporu relativně novému teoretickému konceptu intergenerační ambivalence, který považuje konflikt i solidaritu za simultánní a nikoliv vylučující se projevy příbuzenských vztahů. Výzvou pro budoucí výzkumy na toto téma zůstává otázka, zda je ambivalence univerzálním rysem vztahu rodič-dítě, anebo zda je podmíněna specifickým sociálně-historickým kontextem, který kontradikci mezi fungováním v privátním rodinném životě a ve veřejném životě mimo rodinu prohlubuje nebo naopak tlumí.

Abstract:
Text představuje termín sendvičová generace (volně zaměnitelný s termínem sendvičová konstelace), shrnuje poznatky k tématu a skrze kvantitativní analýzu dat ISSP 2011–2012 Rodina a zdraví a Střední generace 2004 dat nabízí vhled do sendvičové konstelace v České republice. Poskytování péče staršímu členu rodiny je konstitutivním prvkem sendvičové konstelace, proto je věnována pozornost charakteristikám pečovatelů (pohlaví, věk, intenzita pečování) a výskytu pečovatelské role v populaci. Druhým tématem textu je vztah konstelace a wellbeingu člověka. Jsou prověřovány vliv reciprocity podpory a afektuální solidarity na hodnocení kvality vztahu s příjemcem podpory a konflikt mezi pracovní a soukromou sférou. V ČR jsou přibližně 4 % lidí v sendvičové konstelaci a tato konstelace je asociována s mírným konfliktem mezi pracovní a soukromou sférou. Podpora rodičům je asociována s pozitivním vlivem na wellbeing člověka, pokud je podpora vzájemná.

Abstract:
Empirická studie je věnována skrytému kurikulu v příbězích o zkušenostech studentů učitelství se školou. Výsledkem narativní analýzy 88 studentských vyprávění je identifikace dvou typů skrytého kurikula. Kritériem pro typologii je to, zda se skryté kurikulum utváří mezi aktéry na různých sociálních pozicích ve škole, mezi kterými je hierarchický vztah, nebo mezi aktéry na stejných sociálních pozicích ve škole, mezi kterými je vztah nehierarchický. První typ je označen jako vertikální skryté kurikulum a utváří se mezi aktéry na odlišných sociálních pozicích ve škole, tedy nejčastěji mezi učiteli a žáky. Vertikální skryté kurikulum odhaluje konflikty mezi žáky a školou, které se objevují zejména v hodnotové rovině, dále pak rituály, kterými škola hodnoty prosazuje, s tím související podobu moci školy a rezistence žáků vůči této moci. V neposlední řadě je součástí vertikálního skrytého kurikula také bezmoc školy, a to v situacích, kdy mají žáci ve škole mocenskou převahu. Druhý typ skrytého kurikula je označen jako horizontální skryté kurikulum a vztahuje se k aktérům na stejných sociálních pozicích, tedy k žákovskému kolektivu. Opět se týká zejména hodnot, které se žáci ve škole učí, tentokrát však ve třídním kolektivu. Dochází zde k vzájemnému vyjednávání identit žáků. V neposlední řadě je zachyceno, jak do žákovských vztahů zasahují učitelé, kteří tak proměňují obsah horizontálního skrytého kurikula. Závěrem je diskutován význam zkušeností ze skrytého kurikula v průběhu povinné školní docházky pro budoucí učitele.

Abstract:
Má-li zůstat sociologie transnacionalismu coby sociologické odvětví inovativní, měla by být schopna podněcovat reflexivní analýzu svých vlastních kritických projektů. Teorie transnacionalismu se zaměřují na transnacionální fenomény a zkoumají způsoby, jakými jsou nacionální fenomény teoreticky uchopovány v sociálních vědách. První aspekt vede k příslibu porozumění tomu, jak sociální podmínky a kulturní procesy konstituují transnacionalitu. Druhý pak teoriím transnacionalismu umožňuje zachytit způsob, jímž jsou do konceptuálních rámců a teoretických perspektiv akademického diskurzu zakódovány vztahy dominance. Tato studie se zaobírá teoretickými dilematy generovanými kritikou metodologického nacionalismu. Tím, že bere vážně rekonstruktivní interpretaci dřívější formy metodologického nacionalismu, plně uznává důležitost teoretické logiky v sociologii a zvažuje otázku metodologického nacionalismu v termínech konfliktu mezi alternativními teoretickými rámci.

Abstract:
Rozsáhlé reformy v zemích EU jsou reakcí na nové trendy objevující se ve světě po pádu komunismu, s nimiž je minulý vývoj "státu blahobytu" v západní Evropě často v konfliktu. Těmi trendy jsou: globalizace ekonomiky, politiky a kultury, koexistence transnacionální oligopolizace korporátního sektoru bezprecedentní vlnou fúzí a akvizicí se současnou revitalizací významu malých a středních podniků lokálního významu, divergence mezi postavením mezinárodně obchodovaných a neobchodovaných statků v národní ekonomice, rostoucí napětí mezi zastánci sociálně-politického internacionalismu a zastánci nacionalismu a lokálního izolacionismu, rostoucí váha občanské společnosti ve vztahu ke státu, změny v náhledech na správu veřejných statků, nutnost revize jak struktury, tak způsobu řízení veřejných financí. Odlišnosti ve výchozích stavech společností v EU a široká škála alternativ při volbě sociálně-ekonomických cílů reforem způsobují, že reformy nemohou mít uniformní charakter a ladění jejich detailů je konfrontováno se střety v zájmech různých aktérů.

Abstract:
Blízký východ je vysoce nestabilním a konfliktním regionem, tedy oblastí častého výskytu mezistátních i vnitrostátních konfliktů a s tím spojené spirály zbrojení a napjatých vztahů mezi státy. Autorka ve své knize předkládá systémové vysvětlení tohoto fenoménu, když hledá příčinu nestability a geopolitické nevyzrálosti Blízkého východu v absenci jednotícího politického centra, které by mělo potenciál region sjednotit, stabilizovat a zároveň jej i bránit před pronikáním vnějších mocností. Ukazuje, jak od první poloviny 20. století dochází k trvalému soupeření několika adeptů na pozici vůdčí mocnosti regionu, a to Egypta, Íránu, Saúdské Arábie a Turecka. Snahy jednotlivých regionálních mocností prosadit navzájem si konkurující vize však umocňují jeho nejednotu a znesnadňují vznik a fungování celoregionálních kooperativních institucí.

Abstract:
This master thesis focuses on a relationship between poverty and conflict. The aim is to analyze poverty as a potential cause of internal conflict. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part discusses the multidimensional character of poverty, the nature of a nexus between poverty and conflict and introduces modern concepts of economic causes of conflict. The second part tests if higher personal income reduces the probability of internal conflict to emerge. Both phenomena are transformed into a simple mathematical function in order to test their nexus. Characteristics of both regional and universal nature of their relationship are scrutinized. Finally, poverty is not universally believed to be a major cause of civil conflicts. However, poverty is suggested to be a major cause of internal conflicts if personal income is not high enough to satisfy basic human meets. The level of violence, under which conflicts are likely to emerge, is believed to be set at the level of 2$ (of daily income). #English version of the thesis is available per request.#

Last part is focused on territorial conflict between China and Japan, namely Senkaku/Diaoyu islands.

Abstract:
The purpose of this thesis is to analyse the relationship between the EU and the USA with an emphasis on the period after the year 2000. The analysis was only possible with knowledge of preceding milestones that have formed the partnership, the thesis- therefore- begins with the period after the Second World War, to which the European Union can trace its roots. The thesis follows the changes in the relationship during the decades of the Cold War (long-term trends) and in the first decade after its end (short-term trends), and then, due to the broadness of the issue, concrete themes from the period after the year 2000. The thesis also examines the relationship in terms of partnership and conflict, and examines the reasons and events behind the motivation on both sides. The first chapter deals with the Europe-USA relationship development since 1945 and is divided into five parts according to post-war decades. The second chapter deals with the Europe (EU)-USA relationship development after the Cold War up to the beginning of the new millennium. The third chapter represents the centerpiece of the thesis- key issues in the transformation of the relationship. The chapter is divided into four subchapters: divergent and shared opinions on the fight against terrorism (Afghanistan, Iraq), divergent and shared opinions in relation to international organisations and treaties (the Kyoto Protocol, the International Criminal Court), divergent and shared opinions on solving the financial crisis. The fourth subchapter examines the transformation and continuity of the relationship after the accession of the Obama administration.

Abstract:
The thesis deals with the young generation´s view of the old age period. The theoretical part of work is devoted to the issues of ageing and the old age. The changes associated with the ageing process are described there and the demographic trends of ageing population and the situation in the Czech Republic are also mentioned. Emphasis is given to the specification, formation and transformation of generations over a period of time. In the chapter called ´Generation gap relationships´, points of view of both the young and the elderly are described, together with the ageism phenomenon and mutual solidarity. The following chapters of the theoretical part are devoted to generation gap conflicts and communication. Qualitative research, aiming to discover how young generation members view the old age and elderly people, is carried out in the practical part of thesis. The qualitative research deals with the four main topics: elderly people definition through the eyes of young, young generation´s characterization of the old age, the status of elderly people in the Czech society viewed by the young generation and mutual generation gap relationships in the family frame. Qualitative research was carried out by means of semi-structured interviews with informers belonging to the young generation. In the practical part of thesis, relationships between the young and the elderly generation are detaily scrutinized.

The thesis deals with the analysis of the oil industry in Sudan and South Sudan in the 21st century. The first part follows up the role of oil in the African continent; the history of oil production, the rest is devoted to a more detailed analysis of the oil sector in Sudan or South Sudan after 2011. Then the characteristics of future scenarios are realized. The scenarios are affected by the civil war in the South Sudan and border disputes between the North and the South.
