This diploma thesis was based on the main theme of Competitive advantage. The theoretical part of this thesis is concerned with concepts of competition, competitiveness and competitive advantage. Next part is based on analysis of outside surroundings where are specified the main methods of analysing company surroundings. The names of the methods are PEST analysis, SWOT analysis and Porter five forces. In the last part of theoretical thesis are explained types of innovation and innovation process. The conceptual part of the diploma thesis is related to company Snag s.r.o. and its evolution in two periods. The aim of these analysis where to name the main elements with the biggest impact. In the end of the first period was made a decision about new company strategy. According to the new company strategy there was effected innovation process that created new product for selling. This innovation has had crucial market to the competitive position of the company. The implementation of the new strategy has started new periond of growing the company.

This Master's Thesis deals with the education and development of employees in the company NATE --nápojová technika a.s., which is a modern and flexible company active in the engineering industry. The aim is to analyze the existing system of education in this organization and the results of a questionnaire survey conducted to design and recommend measures to improve the current situation. The theoretical part looks into identifying the basic concepts related to staff training, particularly describing the systematic training and to a lesser extent, the financial cost of education in society. The practical part contains the characteristics of the company, description of the education system and a summary of the views of employees resulting from own research and suggestions for possible solutions.

The content of this diploma thesis is to propose a business strategy for the newly established company, which will operate on the Czech market. The subject of the business is the operation of a special gastronomic facility created by combining two concepts of café and tea room with a focus on differentiation. The business strategy focuses on establishing a new company that defines its competitive behavior within the three-year horizon. Suggestions are focused on building a successful business and doing business to bring it a competitive advantage. On the basis of the analyzes conducted, they have computed competing enterprises, customers or internal business factors and will propose an appropriate company development strategy that will ensure its profitable prosperity. The goal of this thesis is to define the competitive advantages of a strategic business unit (SBU) that is within the organization structure of the University of Economics, Prague (VŠE). The Central and East European Studies Program (CESP) operates as an SBU within VŠE. This is a one-semester paid program that is part of the of foreign language programs at the university. The program's advantages were defined on the basis of a survey of CESP's competition on the market for free movers in the Czech Republic, a SWOT analysis, and the evaluation of a survey of CESP's students. In the future, CESP should be promoted with a focus on these advantages and the program should be further developed accordingly so as to attract new students to VŠE.

Práce zdůrazňuje vzájemný vztah cestovního ruchu a kultury, jejich význam pro společnost a ekonomiku ČR. Na základě srovnání s dalšími zeměmi EU vyplývá, že Česká republika má významný potenciál, aby stavěla svou konkurenční výhodu na kultuře a cestovním ruchu. Práce vysvětluje metodiku kvantifikace ekonomických přínosů obou odvětví, včetně multiplikačních efektů. Zvyšování konkurenceschopnosti ČR jako turistické destinace zajišťuje státní agentura CzechTourism, v oblasti kultury však neexistuje systematická koncepce propagace v zahraničí. Kromě větší finanční podpory obou sektorů by měla vláda klást důraz na spolupráci Ministerstva kultury a Ministerstva pro místní rozvoj ČR, ale i dalších institucí na všech úrovních veřejné správy.

Abstract:
The reasons, why doctoral thesis named ?Competitive advantage based on working capital management during the economical recession period? has been compiled, are indentified as follows: ? Due to existing economical recession there is a deficiency of free foreign capital on the market and the price of capital is rapidly growing. ? There are some companies on the market, which are able to maintain the turnover dynamics and their business results (their ROI ratios) are significantly better than a market average. The two objectives of research have been stipulated: ? To prove whether there is a relation between the value of company?s working capital divided by the total turnover in the current period and the change of company?s turnover in the following period. The change of market value average shall be taken into account. ? To prove whether there is a relation between the company?s most liquid assets (receivables and short-term financial assets) divided by the value of total assets in the current period and company?s ROI ratio in the following period. These objectives have been achieved through extensive theoretical research at first, secondly through evaluation of empirical resources from a survey done based on data from 44 German companies connected with building industry between the years 2004 and 2007 and finally, the analysis and synthesis of these resources. The doctoral thesis clarifies the essential targets of working capital management, methods of company?s working capital optimization and reasons, why effective value of working capital could be seen as a source of company?s competitive advantage during economical recession period. The conclusions have pointed out that there is obvious delay of working capital optimization positive effects onto the company?s turnover dynamics and ROI ratios.

This thesis deals with measurement of customer satisfaction and loyalty among health care providers with services provided by particular pharmaceutical company. The main goal of this work is to develop methodology for measuring customer satisfaction and loyalty for this segment of services. The theoretical part deals with a summary of findings and approaches describing satisfaction and loyalty, and also review of the methods used for their determination. The thesis also analyzes the differences between two groups of customers and summarizes the differences identified in the primary research that was conducted. Primary research was conducted by having structured interviews with respondents from among health care providers (private versus state providers). Dissertation's conclusions correspond with professional resources and thus develop areas of knowledge about the characteristics of the examined service segment.

The thesis themed ´Analysis of the company in a competitive environment´ deals with the competitive market matters in the area of energetics located in the Pilsen Region. The next theoretical bases of this thesis is the environment analysis of the company. On the basis of predermined work hypotheses happen the analysis of single matters. Abstract:
Garnea a.s. has experienced several significant changes during the last year. Change in the primary market and main part of the product portfolio are the two major ones. Moreover, the company recently experienced a decline in the revenues and profits as well. Therefore, the main goal of this thesis was to define a completely new strategy which would reflect all the current changes and effectively fight the problems the company suffers from. For this purpose, the thesis provides the reader with company analysis. The characteristics of the market and main customers groups are defined in the industry analysis. Competitor analysis summarizes main competitors on the local as well as national level, points out their main strengths, weaknesses and highlights the strategic goals they are likely to pursue. Based on this information the competitive strategy of the company is crafted in respect to its current and future resources and capabilities. The strategy aims at achieving a better competitive position in the market.

Abstract:
The goal of the master thesis is to conduct strategic analysis of an enterprise Soma spol. s r.o. and suggest possible recommendation for further development based on the knowledge acquired from the analysis. Theoretical part is focused on information referring to the topic of the thesis. Method and techniques of the strategic analysis are described and afterwards applied in the practical part. Practical section contains environment analysis using PESTEL analysis and Porter's Five Forces analysis. Onward the internal analysis is performed including identification of company's assets, financial analysis, Value Chain analysis and Portfolio analysis. In conclusion the results of all performed analysis are summarized using the SWOT matrix and the recommendation are suggested based on detected opportunities, threats, strengths and weaknesses of the company.

The dissertation thesis is focused on the creation of the competitive strategy involving the cooperation with other subjects on the market. It has been chosen the concrete industry of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). The specifics of this industry have been defined. Those specifics are highly determining factors for successful companies. ICT is extremely globalized and has interdisciplinary characteristics. It is the fastest developing industry with the lowest language barrier. This combination makes the ICT industry as a greatly potential world-wide expansion industry. The communication technologies became common part of information technologies and all together enter into other fields, such as energy, banking, health etc. The market is globalized and only one company has very small power. This is why the cooperation between companies is preferring form of gaining a number of strategic goals, e.g. entering new markets, collective R&D. The current state of competitive strategies and strategic alliances mapping is also the key part of the work. The clusters form of cooperation is described in more detail, because this platform of collaboration has been chosen as the most suitable one according the ICT industry specifics. Based on theoretical research the further research has been done. The collected data has been proceed with statistic methods used the MS Excel or STATISTICA software. The outputs show the key activities and factors of competitive cluster, together with potential risks and the benefits for the clusters members. All the above mentioned has been implied into the methodology of competitive strategy creation including the clusters membership. This methodology is the main goal of the dissertation thesis.

The thesis deals with strategic management of selected company. Its goal is to design a strategy based on outputs of designed analysis. The thesis consist of two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part defines the basic concepts related to the theme of the thesis. Specifically, the concepts of strategy and strategic management, hierarchy of management and hierarchy of strategies in the company, strategic thinking, competitive advantage and process of creating a business strategy. The findings from this chapter are used in the practical part. In the practical part there is characterized the selected company, after that there are made analyses of internal and external environment, and based on their outputs a SWOT analysis. Furthermore, there are also analyzed stakeholders. At the conclusion of the thesis, the findings obtained from the partial analyzes are used to design two versions of business strategy. One of them is chosen after assessing the better one.

The objective of this thesis is to propose a business strategy that would result in sustainable competitive advantage for Trafin Oil, a.s. - a Czech company operating on the waste oil market. In order to accomplish the stated objective, extensive research has been performed into the existing body of literature on the subject. Frameworks for analysis of the competitive situation are presented and applied thoroughly in the practical part. Moreover, to better comprehend Trafin Oil, a.s. strategic position a customer survey was conducted and extensive interviewing took place. Based on the applied frameworks and the insights gathered throughout the research, the thesis delivers a strategy which rests on developing a unique strategic position and involves different sets of activities to deliver its value proposition. The strategy ought to guarantee higher collection stability and generate substantially higher profits.

The theoretical part is devoted to an introduction to strategic management, basic concepts and analyzes of selected external and internal environment. The practical part is focused on the application analyzes referred to in the first part of the thesis. The aim of this thesis is to carry out a strategic analysis of cafe FotoCafé. Results of the analysis help to evaluate the current status of the cafe on the market in Jindrichuv Hradec. The evaluation of current strategy of the cafe is also based on these results. The analysis revealed some shortcomings and weaknesses in operation of cafe. Part of the conclusion is a proposal about operation of cafe in the future.
