Abstract:

Neste estudo apresentamos, à luz da História Cultural, Versos para os pequeninos, manuscrito inédito e escrito do próprio punho por João Köpke (1852-1926), educador, autor de livros escolares, intelectual republicano do século XIX. Nosso objetivo é explorar a configuração composicional desse manuscrito interrogando sua materialidade, práticas e finalidades de leitura e de escrita, previstas para uso escolar de leitores infantis. Situamos tal manuscrito no contexto da produção para crianças desse período e no contexto das próprias obras publicadas por Köpke. Concluimos destacando a singularidade desse manuscrito e o reconhecemos como pertencente a um gênero discursivo pouco pesquisado na história da leitura e dos livros para crianças, distinto das publicações no período histórico-cultural-educacional em que ele se encontra circunscrito, e ainda bastante distinto da produção impressa do próprio João Köpke.

Abstract:

Este artigo toma como fonte e objeto de pesquisa a cartilha O Livro de Hilda - ensino da leitura pelo processo analítico, com data de 1902 e autoria de João Köpke (1852-1926). Esse livro manuscrito é a prova material da existência de uma cartilha produzida por esse autor para o ensino da leitura pelo método analítico - encontrada apenas em sua versão original. A obra é composta por três partes: "o livro de hilda", "o livro das bonecas", "O livro de Hilda - Instrucções para seu uso".¹ Descreve-se, neste texto, o modo composicional dessa cartilha e analisam-se seus aspectos visuais e textuais quanto ao "método analítico da palavração", tal como ele se apresenta nesta obra. Ao mesmo tempo, situa-se João Köpke em sua época, fazendo algumas comparações com outras cartilhas publicadas por educadores adeptos do método analítico, dialogando com estudos recentes de pesquisadores da cultura escolar.

Neste texto apresentamos uma faceta de João Köpke (1852-1926) anunciada mas pouco explorada pelos pesquisadores da história da educação e da literatura: a de tradutor. Trazemos parte de um conjunto de documentos, ainda não analisado, como objeto e fonte de pesquisa: 1) Três publicações em jornal (1874, 1882) sobre A morgadinha de Lyon (1874), tradução de Lady of lions, de Edward Bulwer-Lytton; 2) Tragédia de uma noiva (1875a), tradução de A bride’s tragedy, de Dinah Maria Mulock Craik; As receitas do Dr. Marigold (1875b), tradução de Doctor Marigold’s prescriptions, de Charles Dickens; 3) Manuscrito datilografado Conto de amor: Evangelina (s.d.), tradução de Evangeline, a tale of Acadie, de Henry Wordsworth Longfellow; 4) publicações em periódicos impressos: O corvo (1916, 1917), tradução do poema The Raven, de Edgar Allan Poe. Buscamos, em uma pesquisa de cunho exploratório, à luz dos estudos da História Cultural, aproximar ou distanciar aspectos ligados à prática de tradução de João Köpke a fim de investigar suas motivações e finalidades para tal prática.

Zusammenfassung. Am Klinikum Neumarkt gehört die Umsetzung von Evidence Based Nursing (EBN) zu den Zielbereichen der Praxisentwicklung. Ausgehend von der Annahme, dass der Ausbau einer EBN-fördernden Haltung zu den wesentlichen Voraussetzungen für die erfolgreiche Umsetzung von EBN gehört (Köpke et al., 2013), konzentrierten sich die bisherigen Implementierungsbemühungen vor allem auf die aktive und systematische Information aller Pflegenden über EBN sowie auf die Sensibilisierung für die Bedeutung dieses Konzepts.

Resumo Este texto reconhece uma dinâmica interna às instituições de ensino secundário no Império do Brasil. O seu desenvolvimento se dá por meio da observação da dinâmica pedagógica de três colégios considerados chave: o Colégio Pedro II, no Rio de Janeiro, capital do Império; o Ginásio Baiano, de Salvador; e o Culto à Ciência, em Campinas. Tal dinâmica partilha elementos comuns, como a regularidade no ensino, a ênfase nas humanidades e o funcionamento em regime de internato, mas também possui variações que teriam relação com o contexto no qual cada colégio se insere. Assim, tomado de Ann Swidler, o conceito de repertório permite articular aspectos da cultura - neste caso, pedagógica - às dinâmicas políticas de cada contexto, iluminadas pela atuação de docentes como Abílio Borges e João Köpke.

AbstractBy now scholars agree that the foundation of the University of Berlin in 1810 and its glorification through the “Humboldtian myth” must be viewed separately. Nevertheless, ever since the 1910 centennial, historiography has rarely gone beyond references to the historical documents edited by Rudolf Köpke (1860) and Max Lenz (1910). Analyzing the lectures announced in the university calendar for the fall semester 1810/11, the essay shows that applied science and vocational training played a larger role than assumed. In founding the university, it seems, the authorities looked rather for the advancement of the common public interest (“Staatsnutzen”) than for the realization of a “Bildungsideal”. This essay pleads, therefore, for a comprehensive reassessment of the historical documents from the planning and founding stages of the University of Berlin.

O presente artigo tem por objetivo investigar as operações de civilidade impressas e impostas nos livros de leitura produzidos para três Séries Graduadas, bem como os processos de formação do habitus social pela leitura. Para tal intento, toma como fonte as Séries Graduadas, de autoria de eminentes professores, como Felisberto de Carvalho, Romão Puiggari, Arnaldo de Oliveira Barreto e João Köpke. As três Séries que alcançaram circulação expressiva nas escolas paulistas entre o final do século XIX e o início do século XX. Com base no corpus conceitual constituído por Norbert Elias é que os procedimentos, os instrumentos, as fontes e as direções de análise foram definidas, uma vez que interessa examinar práticas e processos de modelação dos sujeitos crianças que viviam o tempo social da infância, pelos quais se constituem como configurações mentais ou psíquicas, e nos quais cognição, sentimento, atitude, comportamento, valor, não são passíveis de abstração.

Abstract:

Speakers who routinely use more than one language may not use any of their languages in ways which are exactly like that of a monolingual speaker. In sequential bilingualism, for example, there is often evidence of interference from the L1 in the L2 system. Describing these interference phenomena and accounting for them on the basis of theoretical models of linguistic knowledge has long been a focus of interest of Applied Linguistics. More recently, research has started to investigate linguistic traffic which goes the other way: L2 interferences and contact phenomena evident in the L1. Such phenomena are probably experienced to some extent by all bilinguals. They are, however, most evident among speakers for whom a language other than the L1 has started to play an important, if not dominant, role in everyday life (Schmid and Köpke, 2007). This is the case for migrants who move to a country where a language is spoken which, for them, is a second or foreign language. We refer to the phenomena of L1 change and L2 interference which can be observed in such situations aslanguage attrition.

Abstract:

The Triglochin bulbosa complex (Juncaginaceae) from the Mediterranean region and Africa is revised. One new species, Triglochin buchenaui Köcke, Mering & Kadereit, and two new subspecies, Triglochin bulbosa subsp. calcicola Mering, Köcke & Kadereit and Triglochin bulbosa subsp. quarcicola Mering, Köcke & Kadereit, are described from South Africa. The only two Mediterranean taxa in the complex (Triglochin barrelieri, T. laxiflora) are elevated to species rank. Altogether seven species and four subspecies are recognised: Triglochin barrelieri, T. buchenaui, T. bulbosa subsp. bulbosa, T. bulbosa subsp. calcicola, T. bulbosa subsp. quarcicola, T. bulbosa subsp. tenuifolia, T. compacta, T. elongata, T. laxiflora and T. milnei. An identification key, detailed descriptions and accounts of the ecology and distribution of the taxa are provided. An IUCN conservation status is proposed for each taxon.

Abstract:

In recent times, populism not only is on everyone’s lips, but it has also been contested as scientific term. While some consider recent political developments as a repolitization and response to postdemocracy, others interpret populism as authoritarian and antipluralistic form of politics. However, a closer look reveals that the common term is very often rather obscuring. Scrutinizing the three mayor historic references of the debates on Populism – the Russian Narodniki, the US People´s Party, and the national-popular governments in the 1930-50s in Latin America –, the article reveals that quite contrasting movements have been labeled as populists. Furthermore, different theoretical strands, which described them as such discerned very different aspects as their populist core. After laying out these differences, the articles asks for the explanatory potential of these approaches and discusses the question if there is an intrinsic authoritarianism to populism.

Abstract:

Resumo No acervo pessoal da família Köpke, foram localizados o manuscrito Versos para os pequeninos (s.d.) e um exemplar impresso de Locuções, proloquios e pensamentos (1915), ambos de autoria de João Köpke (1852-1926). Neste artigo, empreendemos um estudo exploratório dessas obras na perspectiva da história cultural, em duas direções investigativas distintas e que se complementam. A primeira, um estudo de cunho descritivo, como forma de apresentar as obras ao leitor em sua materialidade; a segunda, um trabalho de natureza mais analítica e interpretativa, interrogando como essas obras se constituem em determinada configuração composicional para seus leitores, situandoas no contexto educacional e cultural em que foram produzidas. Concluímos que Versos para os pequeninos e Locuções, proloquios e pensamentos apresentam configurações composicionais bastante singulares em relação à produção impressa destinada à escola, no período compreendido entre o final do século XIX e o início do XX, e que o papel de seu autor precisa ser melhor explorado no interior da literatura didática. Essas obras, pouco estudadas pelos pesquisadores, nos oferecem uma imagem de João Köpke como um escritor que produz um trabalho intencional, tanto com a linguagem quanto com a criação de um projeto visual-editorial em que se instala o texto, extrapolando o seu conteúdo e as práticas escolares tradicionalmente previstas para a formação de valores morais para a criança.

Abstract:

O manuscrito Versos para os pequeninos, escrito no século XIX, possivelmente entre os anos 1886 e 1897, pelo educador João Köpke, contém 24 poemas para crianças, estes que se aproximam do que conhecemos como poesia concreta. Essa obra esteve por muito tempo sob a tutela da família Köpke, sem ser conhecida e muito menos analisada pela comunidade acadêmica. Até então, tínhamos a ideia de que o autor destinava sua produção apenas a livros de leitura, estes que serviam para oferecer ensinamentos às crianças, fossem eles inseridos no âmbito escolar ou voltados aos valores éticos e morais que o período republicano solicitava. Foi através da Profa. Norma Ferreira, da Faculdade de Educação da Unicamp, que pudemos ter contato, apenas em 2017, com a obra citada, em edição fac-símile, esta que lhe serviu de objeto de estudo em sua tese de pós-doutorado. Deste modo, constatamos que o manuscrito foi bem produzido se considerarmos suas variadas esferas estéticas, desde o ritmo até as unidades semânticas, motivo pelo qual nos dispusemos a analisá-lo, objetivando conferir-lhe mais visibilidade, já que o mesmo ainda se encontra no anonimato. Para isso, lançamos mão de embasamentos teóricos, utilizando-nos de bibliografias como Alves (2016), Camargo (2017), Bosi (1988), dentre outros, bem como optamos pelo poema intitulado “Meu cavallo” para que pudéssemos propor uma metodologia eficaz de trabalho com o mesmo em sala de aula. Assim, aos poucos, acreditamos que é possível dar a João Köpke o reconhecimento devido.

Abstract:

Com o objetivo de contribuir para a compreensão de um importante momento da história da alfabetização em nosso país e para o desenvolvimento de pesquisas correlatas, apresenta-se um estudo sobre a conferência A leitura analytica, proferida pelo educador João Köpke (1857-1926), em lº de março de 1896, na Escola Normal de São Paulo. Mediante procedimentos de reunião, seleção e leitura de fontes documentais relativas à produção de e sobre João Köpke, elaborou-se um instrumento de pesquisa, a partir do qual optou-se pela análise da configuração textual da versão impressa da conferência. Sua análise permitiu compreender os princípios teóricos subjacentes ao modo de processar o método analítico para o ensino da leitura proposto por esse educador assim como sua relação com o regime republicano e constatar a significativa influência que exerceu sobre outros educadores de sua época e de décadas posteriores, no que se refere às propostas e práticas de alfabetização.
