Abstract:
Motywacja: Krach na amerykańskim rynku finansowym w 2008 roku zapoczątkował kryzys o charakterze globalnym. Rozpoczęła się poważna debata nad jego przyczynami, a w niej pojawiają się głosy o istotnej roli neoliberalnych założeń nurtu chicagowskiego, postrzeganego jako koncepcja ekonomiczna i ideologia dotykająca szeroko rozumianej sfery polityczno-społecznej. Chęć przedstawienia takiej krytycznej oceny stanowiła bezpośrednią przyczynę podjęcia niniejszego tematu.
 Cel: Celem artykułu jest zidentyfikowanie potencjalnego wpływu neoliberalizmu szkoły chicagowskiej oraz polityki gospodarczej państwa, prowadzonej na gruncie tej doktryny na kryzys gospodarczy 2008+ w Stanach Zjednoczonych.
 Materiały i metody: Wykorzystano metodę krytycznej analizy literatury z zakresu teorii kryzysów gospodarczych, neoliberalizmu, neoliberalizmu szkoły chicagowskiej oraz kryzysu XXI wieku.
 Wyniki: Ze względu na rozbieżności, trudno jednoznacznie wskazać, czy i w jakim stopniu neoliberalizm nurtu chicagowskiego i polityka gospodarcza państwa, prowadzona na gruncie tej doktryny przyczyniły się do kryzysu gospodarczego 2008+. Ze względu na wyraźnie przeważające głosy przeciwników tej doktryny i ich refleksje, można stwierdzić istnienie takiego wpływu.

Abstract:
Este artigo discute em que medida a noção de letramento é contemplada em propostas de análise sociolinguística e em estudos de variação fonológica no português brasileiro. Emprega procedimentos metodológicos da pesquisa bibliográfica (ECO, 2002 [1977]) e fundamenta-se tanto na concepção de letramento de Kleiman (1995) quanto na perspectiva sociolinguística variacionista laboviana (LABOV, 1972) para selecionar e apreciar criticamente as propostas de Kroch (1978), Finegan e Biber (2001), Milroy (2001), Preston (2001), Irvine (2001), Eckert (2004, 2012), Coupland (2007), além dos estudos de Vieira (2002) e Link (2018), entre outros. O estudo mostra que o letramento motiva o conservadorismo do dialeto de grupos de maior status social a processos que ocorrem abaixo do nível da consciência social, define um certo tipo de registro passível de variação e compõe certas personae. A escolarização, como o letramento, tem papel na frequência e difusão das variáveis e responde pela valoração social das formas variáveis usadas em práticas estilísticas e na construção de identidades sociais.

Abstract:
Neste trabalho, apresentamos uma análise das construções de tópico sujeito existencial, ou seja, aquelas que envolvem o alçamento de um DP [+locativo] para a posição de sujeito, [SPEC-TP], do verbo ter que expressa existência. Essas construções, prototípicas da gramática do Português Brasileiro, têm sido descritas como mais uma evidência para a mudança no Parâmetro do Sujeito Nulo pela qual passa o PB: tendência ao preenchimento de [Spec-TP]. Os resultados deste trabalho evidenciam que a implementação do tópico sujeito existencial é paulatina ao aumento da frequência de uso do ter existencial e que sua emergência é atrelada a uma leitura ambígua entre posse e existência. (ROBERTS; ROSSOU, 2003). A fim de desenvolver esta pesquisa, foram levantados dados de anúncios, cartas de leitores e cartas de redatores, publicados em jornais cariocas e baianos, nos séculos XIX e XX. Toda a amostra compõem os corpora do PHPB, que está disponível online. Para a análise diacrônica quantitativa utilizamos o Programa Goldvarb-X (SANKOFF; TAGLIAMONTE; SMITH, 2001) e os pressupostos da Teoria de Competição de Gramática (KROCH, 1989, 2001) e da Teoria Gerativa (CHOMSKY, 2000, 2001).

ABSTRACT Vertically transmitted endogenous retroviruses pose an infectious risk in the course of pig-to-human transplantation of cells, tissues, and organs. Two classes of polytropic type C porcine endogenous retroviruses (PERV) productively infect human cells in vitro. The cloning and characterization of replication-competent PERV-B sequences from infected human cells (F. Czauderna, N. Fischer, K. Boller, R. Kurth, and R. R. Tönjes, J. Virol. 74:4028-4038, 2000) as well as the cloning of functional PERV-A and -B sequences from porcine cell line PK15 (U. Krach, N. Fischer, F. Czauderna, and R. R. Tönjes, J. Virol. 75:5465-5472, 2001) have been previously described. Here we report the isolation of four full-length proviral sequences from a porcine bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) library that comprises chromosomally assigned PERV. Clones Bac-PERV-A(130A12) and Bac-PERV-A(151B10) map to pig chromosome 1 and demonstrate close homology to PK15-PERV-A(58) in env and to PERV-MSL in long terminal repeat (LTR), gag, and pro/pol sequences. Clone Bac-PERV-A(463H12) is located on pig chromosome 3 and demonstrates close homology to PK15-PERV-A(58) in env and to 293-PERV-B(43) in LTR, gag, and pro/pol (Czauderna et al.; R. R. Tönjes, F. Czauderna, N. Fischer, U. Krach, K. Boller, P. Chardon, C. Rogel-Gailard, M. Niebert, G. Scheef, A. Werner, and R. Kurth, Transplant Proc. 32:1158-1161, 2000). Clone Bac-PERV-B(192B9) is located on pig chromosome 7 in the swine leukocyte antigen region and is highly homologous with but distinct from the previously described functional clone 293-PERV-B(43) and bears the number of repeats initially observed in the LTRs of clone 293-PERV-A(42) (Czauderna et al.; Krach et al.). Clones Bac-PERV-A(130A12), Bac-PERV-A(151B10), and Bac-PERV-A(463H12) were replication competent upon transfection into susceptible 293 and HeLa cells. Bac-PERV-B(192B9), however, bears two stop codons in pro/pol preventing this clone from being replication competent in some individual pigs, but initial screenings indicate that this provirus might be intact in others. The data suggest that the porcine genome harbors a limited number of infectious PERV sequences, allowing for specific screening in different pig breeds.

Dit jaar is het tien jaar geleden dat de International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs) in de Europese Unie kracht van wet kregen. Op basis van een uit 2002 daterende Europese verordening – de zogenoemde IASverordening – moeten beursgenoteerde ondernemingen in de Europese Unie met ingang van boekjaar 2005 hun geconsolideerde jaarrekening verplicht opstellen in overeenstemming met de IFRSs. Het doel van de introductie van de IFRSs was het creeren van een gelijk speelveld in de Europese Unie op het gebied van de externe nanciële verslaggeving om zodoende oneerlijke concurrentie tussen de lidstaten te voorkomen en de efciënte van de Europese kapitaalmarkt te bevorderen.

Abstract:
Na história do português, é possível observar uma série de mudanças no quadro das formas pronominais de tratamento da 2ª pessoa do singular (2 SG) que pode ser correlacionada aos padrões de concordância verbal encontrados nas distintas gramáticas do português. No português arcaico, observa-se, como herança latina, a coexistência de dois pronomes de 2 SG. De um lado, o pronome Tu é encontrado com verbos na 2 SG e, de outro, o pronome de cortesia Vós ocorre com verbos na 2 PL. O português médio conserva as duas formas pronominais do período anterior e acrescenta uma nova forma pronominal de 2 SG, Vossa Mercê, resultante do processo de gramaticalização do sintagma possessivo vossa mercê. Essa nova forma gramaticalizada apresenta distintos padrões de concordância verbal: 2 PL e 3 SG. O estágio seguinte, português europeu (PE), mantém a 2 SG original Tu, que coexiste com a forma Você, apresentando verbos na 2 SG e 3 SG, respectivamente. Por fim, o português brasileiro apresenta a mesma gramática do PE e acrescenta, também, em seu período de formação, outros dois padrões de concordância verbal: Tu com verbos na 3 SG, padrão que se tornará produtivo no PB atual; e Você com verbos que apresentam morfologia de 2 SG. Nesse panorama descrito, o objetivo deste trabalho é discutir, a partir de um quadro teórico formal (CHOMSKY, 1995; 2000; KROCH, 1989; HARLEY; RITTER, 2002; DUARTE et al, 2002; LOPES; RUMEU, 2007; BÉJAR, 2008), como a composicionalidade dos pronomes de 2 SG, ao longo da história do português, pode ser correlacionada aos padrões de concordância verbal encontrados. Levando-se em consideração questões de natureza pragmática, defendo a existência de duas configurações pronominais distintas no português capazes de gerar todos os padrões encontrados. A partir da discussão teórica dos padrões de concordância verbal identificados, a cortesia pode ser codificada como uma categoria gramatical à qual a operação sintática de concordância é sensível.

Abstract:
In het najaar van 2006 is het onafhankelijk extern toezicht van kracht geworden op accountantsorganisaties. Dit toezicht is tot nu toe voornamelijk nationaal georiënteerd en houdt bijvoorbeeld nog geen rekening met de accountantscontroles van buitenlandse ondernemingen genoteerd in Nederland. Wetgeving is aanstaande waarin ook de internationale kant van het toezicht op accountantsorganisaties wordt vormgegeven. Belangrijke onderwerpen daarbij zijn de afbakening van taken tussen toezichthouders, de mate waarin toezichthouders op elkaar kunnen steunen en de onderlinge informatie-uitwisseling. Deze nieuwe wetgeving komt, net zoals de reeds in 2006 van kracht geworden Wta, voort uit de achtste EU-richtlijn die reeds op hoofdlijnen rekening heeft gehouden met de grensoverschrijdende kant van het toezicht. Op wereldwijd niveau is de wederzijdse erkenning van toezicht een belangrijk vraagstuk en vooral de mate waarin de PCAOB zal steunen op EU-toezichthouders en vice versa. Dit artikel geeft in het eerste deel een overzicht van de stand van zaken van het in 2006 van kracht geworden toezicht: het betreft hier zowel het proces van vergunningverlening als het doorlopende toezicht. Het tweede deel van het artikel betreft de internationale kant van het toezicht. Daarbij komt aan de orde hoe dit geregeld zal worden in de Nederlandse wetgeving en op welke wijze nadere regelgeving op Europees niveau tot stand komt. Ook wordt kort stil gestaan bij de relatie tussen Europese toezichthouders en de PCAOB.

Abstract Perihelion distances of Marsden and Kracht group comets fall into the range 6RS < q < 12RS (the Meyer group comets also share the same perihelion interval). It is by several folds larger than the perihelion distance of the Kreutz group comets (q < 2RS). Average circulation period for comets of the Marsden group is P = 5.5 years and for the Kracht group is P =5.3 years. The Marsden and Kracht group comets share the same origin; as well as 96P (Machholz), object 196256 (2003 EH1), meteor showers the Daytime Arietids, Northern and Southern δ Aquariids, Quandrantids forming the Machholz interplanetary complex. This work offers computational movement simulation for comet-progenitor fragments. It is shown that the orbits of the representatives of the complex can be explained if the decay of the cometprogenitor for objects 96P and 196256 occurred ~9500 years ago. The following evolution direction has been demonstrated for the complex objects: progenitor comet - comet 96P - the Marsden group comets - the Kracht group comets - the Southern δ Aquariids. However, not all the complex objects will necessarily pass through every stage of the above as it can be preceded by the total disintegration of the object.

Abstract:
Les « crises financières internationales » sont des événements forts qui remettent en cause l’ordre du secteur financier tout en impactant le reste de la société, notamment aux niveaux économique (baisse des crédits par exemple) et social (chômage par exemple). Elles présentent donc l’intérêt de situer clairement les valeurs et les normes que l’État et ses représentants défendent lorsque ceux-ci communiquent sur ces « crises ». Notre recherche s’appuie sur les activités de communication des membres de l’exécutif (les ministres et le Président de la République) pendant le « krach boursier de 1987 », la « crise asiatique de 1997-1998 » et la « crise des subprimes de 2007-2008 ». Il existe en effet un lien symbolique entre les activités de communication des membres de l’exécutif et la communication de l’État. Les ministres et le Président sont légitimes pour incarner l’État et le faire agir au travers de leurs activités communicationnelles. À partir de ce lien, il est possible de comprendre le rôle de la communication de l’État pendant une « crise financière internationale ». Cette thèse interroge la participation de la communication étatique au gouvernement de la société française. Elle porte également sur les rapports de collaboration et de concurrence que les représentants de l’État entretiennent, par l’intermédiaire de la communication, avec des acteurs différents – comme les journalistes ou les acteurs politiques d’autres États – participant à la construction d’une « crise ». En somme, notre recherche propose d’inclure la communication de l’État dans des logiques de domination et de rapports de force<br>"International financial crises" are meaningful events who question the order of the financial sector while impacting the rest of the society, notably at economic (drop of credits for example) and social levels (unemployment for example). In consequence, they clearly show values and norms that the state and its representatives stand up for when they communicate. Our research is based on communication activities of the members of the executive (ministers and the president of the Republic) during the "stock market crash of 1987", the "asian crisis of 1997-1998", and the "subprimes crisis of 2007-2008". Indeed there is a symbolic link between communication activities of the members of the executive and State communication. Ministers and the President are legitimate to embody the State and make it act through their communication activities. From this link, it is possible to understand the role of the State communication during an "international financial crisis". This thesis examines the participation of State communication in the government of French society. It also addresses the collaborative and competitive relationships, through of communication, that State officials have with different actors - such as journalists or political actors of other States - involved in building a "crisis". In short, our research suggests to include the communication of the State in logics of domination and power relations

Les marchés financiers sont souvent sujets à d’importantes perturbations, les plus récentes ayant été observées lors de la crise financière de 2008. Ces perturbations peuvent être qualifiées de stress financier, qui se définit comme une interruption du fonctionnement normal des marchés financiers. Ce mémoire propose de mesurer le stress du marché financier canadien, en s’inspirant de l’analyse effectuée par KLIESEN et SMITH [2010] pour les États-Unis. Ces auteurs, qui travaillent à la Réserve fédérale de Saint-Louis, proposent une approche basée sur une analyse en composante principale. Nos résultats montrent que le stress sur les marchés canadiens a une évolution similaire à celui des États-Unis. Un test de causalité de Granger indique que le stress financier américain cause du stress financier sur le marché canadien. Par la suite, la méthode d’analyse en composantes principales non linéaire par noyau (KPCA) est utilisée sur les données américaines et canadiennes. Cette nouvelle méthodologie permet de mieux illustrer le comouvement entre les séries temporelles, lorsque l’on admet des corrélations potentiellement non linéaires. Les résultats montrent que cette nouvelle méthode permet d’obtenir des graphiques dont le bruit est réduit, et avec des structures mieux définies. L’amplitude des évènements de stress est changée, mais l’indice garde la même évolution qualitative.<br>Financial markets are often affected by important perturbations, as witnessed during the 2008 financial meltdown. These perturbations can be seen as a form of financial stress and are defined as an interruption of normal working financial market. This thesis proposes to measure the financial stress in the Canadian market, using a principal component methodology used by the Saint-Louis Federal Reserve (KLIESEN and SMITH [2010]). Our results show that the financial stress occurring on the Canadian market is stongly related to financial stress: notably US financial stress granger causes financial stress on the Canadian market. Additionally, we use a kernel principal component analysis (KPCA) on both US and Canadian data, to account for second and third degree effects in covariance structures. The kernel analysis reduces the noise on the stress graph. Similar structures are visible and qualitative features are the same, but the relative amplitude of these structures is changed.

The topic of early human impacts on New World environments, including Amazonia, is controversial as to degree and extent (Balée, 1989; Cleary, 2001; Denevan, 1992b; Gómez-Pompa and Kaus, 1992; Hayashida, 2005; Krech, 1999; Stahl, 1996; Vale, 2002). Certainly, whenever and wherever people were present, even sparse populations, there was some change in the landscape. People cannot live on the land and use plants and animals for subsistence and other needs without changing that land and the plants and animals present. Human-induced changes may involve equilibrium in which the natural ecosystem basically recovers, even though composition is changed, or in which the human ecosystem is sustainable; or the changes may involve disequilibrium in which the regenerative capacities (i.e., biological diversity and productivity) of either system are retarded or destroyed (i.e., degradation) (Sponsel, 1992). These changes may have been intentional or not, ephemeral or long lasting, localized or regional, onetime events or cumulative, highly visible or not readily apparent. Vegetation is the most widespread focus of change; other impacts have been on wildlife, soil, river patterns, microclimate, and the land surface itself. The forces of change are settlement, cultivation, grazing, hunting and gathering (foraging), burning, and various earthworks and river works. All of these impacts and forces were present in pre- European South America. Furthermore, native people “recognize that human beings, past and present . . . have affected the distribution of the biota and the formation of the landscape” (Balée, 2003: 285–286). “Far from being a wild world . . . the forest is perceived as a superhuman garden” by the Achuar in Ecuador (Descola, 1994: 324). Lacking written records, it is difficult to reconstruct early indigenous impacts, and any attempt to do so involves speculation and inference. Some alterations have persisted to the present, but most have been masked by either landscape recovery or by human destruction. Furthermore, nature and culture merge, the dichotomy being artificial, conceptual (Descola, 1994: 1–6). And some human disturbances that seem old are actually recent, but the reverse is also true. The distinction may be difficult to ascertain.

Greta Baars-Jelgersma schreef vanaf het midden van de jaren 1930 een veelzijdig en maatschappelijk geëngageerd vertaaloeuvre op haar naam van literaire en non-fictie werken uit Scandinavië, die later vaak klassiekers zijn geworden in het land van herkomst.1 Dat zij een breed scala aan Nederlandse uitgevers voor haar auteurs wist te interesseren, zegt zowel iets over de ontvankelijkheid in de jaren dertig van deze uitgevers voor vernieuwende literatuur uit Denemarken, IJsland, Noorwegen en Zweden als over het literaire netwerk dat Baars-Jelgersma om zich heen wist te weven. Een netwerk dat ze op eigen kracht opbouwde; Baars-Jelgersma was een selfmade woman en autodidact op het gebied van de Scandinavische talen en literaturen. In Scandinavië lag het zwaartepunt van haar netwerk in Noorwegen. Zo vertaalde ze in het interbellum werk van de progressieve journalist Odd Hølaas (1898-1968) die in de jaren dertig schreef over de positie van de Afro-Amerikanen in de VS, van de baanbrekende auteurs Aksel Sandemose (1899-1965) en de op latere leeftijd debuterende Cora Sandel (1880-1974) en van de door de gebroeders Grimm geprezen spookjesverzamelaars Per Chr. Asbjørnsen (1812-1885) en Jørgen Moe (1813-1882). Op de piano bij haar thuis stonden in 2010 de foto’s van haar man Herman Baars (1909-2004) en van haar favoriete auteur Knut Hamsun (1859-1952) zij aan zij. Ook na de Tweede Wereldoorlog koos ze als vertaler voor verrassende titels; zo vertaalde ze een bijzonder dagboek van de verzetsstrijder Petter Moen (1901-1944), werk van de communist Nordahl Grieg (1902-1943), van de controversiële Noorse ontdekkingsreiziger Thor Heyerdahl (1914-2002) en de Zweedse Nobelprijswinnaar Pär Lagerkvist (1891-1974). In 1951 zette ze een opmerkelijke stap. Als eerste vrouw in Nederland richtte ze een auteursbureau op, überhaupt een relatief nieuw verschijnsel in de internationale boekenbranche. Tot op hoge leeftijd bleef ze actief als vertaler en literair agent. Het feit dat ze autodidact was en de Nederlandse scandinavistiek zich vanaf de jaren vijftig steeds meer ging professionaliseren, was er misschien de oorzaak van dat er weinig aansluiting was tussen Baars-Jelgersma en de academische scandinavisten. Op latere leeftijd lijkt ze een einzelgänger te zijn geworden en in 2010 was ze als vertaler en literair agent in het vergeetboek terecht gekomen.

"of Denmark’s most prominent and celebrated screenwriters, Anders Thomas Jensen began his career making short films, receiving three Oscar nominations in the late 1990s in the process. He won on his third try, for the 1999 comedy Election Night, which starred Ulrich Thomsen, who would go on to appear in other Jensen-written projects like Adam’s Apples (2005) and In a Better World (2010). Eventually, Jensen moved on to features, writing and directing the dark comedies Flickering Lights (2000), The Green Butchers (2003), and Adam’s Apples, all of which starred his Danish compatriot Mads Mikkelsen. But perhaps Jensen is best known to worldwide audiences for his ongoing collaboration with director Susanne Bier, who has directed his screenplays for Open Hearts (2002), Brothers (2004), After the Wedding (2006), In a Better World, and Love Is All You Need (2012). As opposed to Jensen’s solo films, his work with Bier has been marked by its emotionally charged, intensely dramatic scenarios, often dealing in themes of violence, reconciliation, and coincidence. Brothers won the Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival, and In a Better World earned both a Best Foreign Language Film Oscar and a Golden Globe. Jensen, who lives in Copenhagen, was also an early participant in the Dogme film movement, writing the script for both Søren Kragh-Jacobsen’s Mifune (1999) and Open Hearts. His other credits range from the romantic comedy-drama Wilbur Wants to Kill Himself (2002) to the period costume drama The Duchess (2008). Recently, his career came full circle after he wrote the screenplay for the 2009 dark comedy short The New Tenants, which starred Vincent D’Onofrio and Kevin Corrigan and won the Best Live Action Short Oscar." Improvements in body armor and battlefield medical care have resulted in an increase in survival rates but also an increase in survivable battlefield extremity injuries (Covey 2002; Covey 2006; Owens, Kragh et al. 2007). It is well known that these traumatic extremity injuries require adequate stabilization to achieve an optimal healing outcome. Extremity fractures also affect a large proportion of the civilian population. In 2005, 5.7 million Americans suffered an injury resulting in bone fracture (CDC/NCHS). Transport of these domestically injured individuals to medical facilities also requires stabilization to avoid further injury.
