Full textSyftet med denna studie var att undersöka idrott och hälsa lärares uppfattning om sin egen psykosociala arbetsmiljö utifrån krav, kontroll och socialt stöd. Jag vill ta reda på vad som påverkar idrottslärares psykosociala arbetsmiljö samt vilka faktorer som kan hindra eller främja den psykosociala arbetsmiljön. Studiens två frågeställningar är följande: Vilka hindrande faktorer finns i idrott- och hälsa lärares psykosociala arbetsmiljö? Vilka främjande faktorer finns i idrott- och hälsa lärares psykosociala arbetsmiljö? Metod Studien har en kvalitativ utgångspunkt och en halvstrukturerad intervjuform som datainsamlingsmetod. Urvalet består av fem stycken idrott och hälsa lärare som jobbar inom Stockholms Stad i årskurs 1-9. Resultatet har tolkats med hjälp av kontroll, krav och stödmodellen som lämpar sig för att undersöka hur den anställde uppfattar sin egen psykosociala arbetsmiljö. Resultat Resultat i studien visar att lärare i idrott- och hälsa känner att de har ett stort inflytande och beslutsutrymme i sitt arbete, främst kring ämnet idrott och hälsa. Alla lärare anser även att de känner ett stort socialt stöd från kollegor och skolledning. Alla lärare hade även velat ha mer kontakt med fler personer i skolan om så var möjligt. Detta visar sig bland annat genom att alla idrottslärare söker sig till personalrummet flera gånger om dagen. Alla lärare känner sig även stressade någon gång i veckan. Det är sällan eleverna som skapar denna stress utan snarare faktorer runt omkring undervisningen. Arbetet påverkar även fritiden på något sätt för alla idrottslärare, där detta bland annat har lett till att två av lärarna varit sjukskriva i arbetsrelaterade orsaker såsom stress. Slutsats Att arbeta som idrottslärare innebär att ingen dag är den andra lik. Resultaten i denna studie visar att vissa dagar känner lärarna i idrott- och hälsa ett högt socialt stöd och andra dagar ett lägre. Kontroll är något alla idrottslärare i denna uppsats känner i sitt yrke, där de har möjlighet att påverka sitt eget ämne. Kraven uppger de själva är rimliga men går man djupare in i lärarnas svar finner man att stress är något de utsätts för varje dag, vilket i sin tur kan vara skadligt för lärarnas övergripande hälsa.

Full textThe purpose of this study is to compare different companies' approach to the recruiting process. The overriding issue is about what they are doing different and equal to find such a suitable individual as possible to a vacancy. Also what are the differences between handling out of a newly recruited individual. These issues are examined in three different companies, a company that makes internal recruitment, a recruitment company and a company that use a recruitment agency to recruit. The interviews were carried out with people with experience with experience in the various processes. One of the differences found in the various recruitment processes is how much time the different companies spend on interviews. While dealing out newly recruited individuals show differences in how the different companies spend time on the newly recruited individuals. As the survey shows that the company that makes internal recruitments put incredible emphasis on management if there is a store group employed while if an individual recruited will be handling easier. While the companies did not show any difference in the handling of employment out of a single new recruited individual.

Full textSyfte och frågeställningar: Syftet med studien var att undersöka skillnader mellan kvinnor och män i upplevd arbetsmiljö i termer av krav, kontroll och stöd på arbetsplatsen samt undersöka om det fanns ett samband mellan deltagarnas upplevda arbetsmiljö och hälsa. Våra frågeställningar var: Finns det könsskillnader gällande upplevd arbetsmiljö i termer av krav, kontroll och stöd på arbetsplatsen? Finns det någon koppling mellan anställdas upplevda arbetsmiljö och hälsa? Metod: Studien var kvantitativ och all data samlades in med hjälp av enkäter gjorda på Easyquest. Enkäterna skickades ut via tt bekvämlighetsurval på Facebook och via mail. Datan sammanställdes och analyserades i SPSS. Vidare gjordes T-test och korrelationsanalys i SPSS för att få fram resultat för att testa vår hypotes. Enkätfrågorna hade ett poängsystem där den sammanlagda poängen från varje fråga besvarade huruvda individen antingen hade hög eller låg krav/kontroll/socialt stöd på arbetsplatsen. Resultat: I studien deltog totalt 147 individer med 2 bortfall på grund av obesvarade frågor i enkäten. Den data som användes var således från 145 individer. I resultatet framkom det att män i alla kategorier hade mer stöd, lägre krav och högre kontroll jämfört med kvinnor. Resultatet visade också på att personer oavsett kön mådde bättre ju mer stöd, lägre krav och högre kontroll de hade på arbetsplatsen. Korrelationen mellan socialt stöd och upplevd hälsa var signifikant (r=-,250. p<.01). Slutsats: Kvinnor upplevde i alla kategorier att de hade högre krav, lägre kontroll och mindre socialt stöd jämfört med män. Hypotesen bekräftades och hoppas därmed lämna intresse till framtida forskning inom ämnet. Med tanke på att respondenterna endast behövde vara yrkesverksamma för att inkluderas i studien uteslöts mycket information som kan ha påverkat utfallet i resultatet. Studiens externa validitet kan ifrågasättas. En stark korrelation mellan upplevd hälsa och socialt stöd framkom med ett resultat på (r=-,250. p<.01).

Full textThe purpose of this study was to study unit managers' experience of strenuous work and work-related stress, as well as how the stress experience impacted on their privacy. A qualitative method was carried out using a semi-structured interview guide. Based on the purpose and Karaseks and Theorell's demand-control and support model, four questions were formulated. Six unit managers were interviewed, and the collected material was analyzed using a deduction thematic analysis. The four main themes: workplace requirements, control of the work situation, the importance of social support and the balance between work and privacy were predetermined based on theory. The overall result showed that respondents experienced high demands and a low level of control at the workplace. Results also showed that social support was of great importance in the respondents' work situation. The model's predicted stress experience was in line with the unit managers' actual stress experience and the balance between work and privacy proved to be limited.

Full textWomen’s experiences of health care after sustaining an injury during labour have been covered frequently by the media during the last year, however, Swedish research on the topic is sparse. The purpose of this study was to explore how these women have experienced interactions with care staff and how they feel that these interactions have affected them psychologically. Data was collected through individual semi-structured interviews with 14 women who have sustained an injury during labour. The transcribed interviews were processed using thematic analysis and five themes were identified; There’s no place for us, Great that they focus on the baby - but what about me?, It is painful to give birth, I guess it was my fault then and finally I won’t put myself through this again. Care staff interactions showed to have a large impact on the women’s psychological well-being and also the women’s thought processes in regards to their potential future deliveries.

Full textFinns det någon skillnad i upplevd stress hos förskolepedagoger och grundskollärare? Stress hos lärare kan definieras som en känsla av ilska, spändhet, frustration eller depression. Enligt Krav- kontroll-stödmodellen mår de som har jobb med höga krav, låg kontroll och dåligt socialt stöd sämst på jobbet. En kvantitativ studie har gjorts där enkäter delats ut till lärare på förskolan och grundskolan i en mindre ort i Sverige. Data jämfördes sedan med data från en större ort i Sverige. Resultatet visar att det inte finns någon skillnad i upplevd stress mellan förskolepedagoger och grundskollärare. Det finns olika faktorer, såsom krav, kontroll, stöd, socialt klimat och roller, inom skolan och förskolan som påverkar stress.
Is there a difference in perceived stress between pre-school teachers and compulsory school teachers? Teacher stress is defined as emotions such as anger, tension, frustration or depression. According to the Demand-Control- Support Model, individuals working with high demands, low control, and poor social support, are experiencing the lowest well-being at work. A quantitative study was conducted where questionnaires were handed out to teachers in pre-school and compulsory school in a minor town in Sweden. Data was later compared to data from a larger town in Sweden. Results show that there are no differences in perceived stress between pre-school and compulsory school teachers. There are different factors, such as demand, control, support, social environment and roles, within school and pre-school that has impact on stress.

Full textThe purpose with this essay is to study if and in that case how the psychosocial health in the working environment has changed in Örebro, Västmanland and Värmland county between year 2005 to 2011 thru studying safety stop, interview inspectors from the Work environment authority and regional safety agents and also studying statistics from Statistics Sweden. The questions at issue are: Has there been a change in the number of safety stops which involves psychosocial questions between the years 2005 to 2011? Has there, according to inspectors from the Work environment authority, been a change in the psychosocial health and how do they in that case describe that change? Has there, according to the regional safety agents, been a change in the psychosocial health and how do they in that case describe that change? Has there, according to statistics from Statistics Sweden, been a change in the psychosocial health and in that case in what way does that show in the statistics? The questions at issue are answered thru studying documentation and thru interviews. The theory that has been used in the study is the demand-control-support model. The safety stops and the inspectors don´t show any change in the psychosocial health. The regional safety agents consider that the psychosocial health has worsened during the last years. Staffing companies, flexibility, lack in communication and too little support are some of the psychosocial work environment problems that exist today according to the interviewees. The statistics show that more people are experiencing their work as monotonous and stressful, but also that more people get a chance to learn new things in their work.

Full textSyftet med denna undersökning är att studera hur konsulter i ett givet bemanningsföretag upplever sin psykosociala arbetsmiljö. För att svara på detta har vi valt att utgå från vedertagna teorier om ämnet. Dessa är en modifierad modell av Karaseks krav- och kontroll modell med ett tillägg av socialt stöd, KASAM (känsla av sammanhang) och ansträngnings- och belöningsmodellen. Vi har även tagit med teorier om flexibilitet och tillgänglighet. För att få fram ett resultat har vi använt oss av en kvalitativ metod med intervjuer. Materialet har vi sedan analyserat med hjälp av en tematisk analys för att kunna få fram kärnan av intervjuerna med givna teman.
De teman som vi har kommit fram till har vi kopplat samman till tidigare nämnda teorier. Vi har också funnit att begreppet identitet är av stort värde för att vi ska kunna förklara hur konsulterna upplever den psykosociala arbetsmiljön. När vi kopplade samman resultatet med teorierna har vi först utgått från våra teman för att sedan kunna placera in konsulternas upplevelser i modellerna. Genom att göra detta har vi fått svar på följande frågor:
1. Hur upplever konsulterna sin psykosociala arbetsmiljö när det gäller krav, kontroll och socialt stöd?
Konsulterna upplever att de har yttre krav på tillgänglighet och hög önskan på tillgänglighet som speglar de inre kraven. De har hög kontroll i arbetet och låg kontroll över arbetet. Det emotionella stödet är högt och det instrumentella stödet är något lägre.
2. Hur upplever konsulterna sitt arbete när det gäller hanterbarhet, begriplighet och meningsfullhet?
De har en stark känsla av sammanhang och detta beror på att konsulterna är identitetssökare. En person med en stark identitet har en stark KASAM.
3. Upplever konsulterna att det finns en balans mellan arbetets ansträngning och belöning?
Det finns en någorlunda balans mellan konsulternas ansträngning och belöning. Ansträngningen är något tyngre på grund av de höga inre kraven som konsulterna ställer på sig själva. Däremot väger belöningen upp dessa krav och då framförallt den sociala belöningen. Det innebär att det skulle råda obalans mellan arbetets ansträngning och belöning om den sociala belöningen inte var så hög.

Full textStatistics has shown that a quarter of managers within the public sector resign within two years and 40 percent within four years. This has caused an economic social problem, since employee turnover is expensive in multiple ways. In addition, a psycho social problem has risen due to the stress first line managers experience, which has affected their health. In general, first line managers struggle to find a balance between demands from management department and demands from employees. Furthermore, previous research has shown the importance of having control and feeling support when maintaining a healthy work environment. Karasek and Theorell created the demand-control-support-model in the 1970’s which has mainly been used in studies of stress and stress related diseases. The aim of the study is to investigate the impact demand, control and support have for first line managers’ decision to leave their manager position within public health care. The study is based on six qualitative semi-structured interviews with first line managers. The interview questions are based on the demand-control-support model whereupon the material was analyzed by using a qualitative content analysis. The result shows only two of six participants have considered leaving their manager position within public health care. The participants highlight the importance of experiencing demand, having control and feeling support in their roles as first line managers. They also emphasize other essential variables such as having the opportunity to develop both personally and in work life, and to balance work life and private life. The investigated variables are thus important and the majority of first line managers perceive a high level of demands, high control and support in work life as well as in private life. Based on the interviews, we can confirm perceiving support in private life is of greater value than feeling support in work life.

Full textThis study´s purpose is to investigate whether HR staff experience stress relating to an HR transformation. The issues applied to the essay included; the result of the HR transformation, what kind of difficulties it could cause the HR staff, along with how the transformation affects their psychosocial working environment with focus on stress. The study was performed with the help of six informants, who is currently working in an HR department and have in some form participated in an HR-transformation. Data collection was based on semistructured interviews and analyzed with a thematic method. The result showed that half of the informants experienced stress relating to the HR transformation. The HR-transformation resulted in close operational support, visibility in the business, good collegial support and that the HR perspective was included in strategic decisions. Difficulties that arose were ambiguity in the process of change and that the process was time-consuming and working with the new requirements. Confusions about new working methods, unclear division of labor at implementation and an unspoken requirement for constant availability for the business were factors that contributed to perceived stress.

Full textAbstract Background: School law in Sweden (Skollagen) is the basis for the overall student health, which will work to promote the well-being and learning of students by working on health promotion and prevention. The school nurse who belongs to medical student health is involved in efforts at individual and group level. The nurse has a variety of tasks, ranging from easier healthcare to conversations, health calls and vaccinations. The work is multifaceted and complex and largely a loneliness. Aim: The purpose of the study was to highlight the school nurses' experiences of the work situation. Design: Qualitative method. Method: Nine semistructured interviews were conducted. The interviews were recorded, transcribed verbatim and analyzed by qualitative content analysis and domains, categories and subcategories emerged. Results: The analysis resulted in two domains, four categories and nine subcategories. One domain became The positive spirit of the working situation with the categories Meetings that strengthen the work situation with the subcategories; Work colleagues as support and Contactnet safe and enjoyable. Feelings of opportunities and stimulus; Positive with independent planning, Willingness to change and developmental visions and Inspiring and pleasant working environment. The other domain became The negative spirit of the working situation with the categories The requirement exceeds the resources with the subcategories; Frustration and inadequacy and Lack of time and Difficult meetings and lone work; Managing complicated situations and Not reaching and feeling of loneliness Conclusion: School nurses experience joy and community in their school environment, but also lack of time and resources that sometimes lead to feelings of inadequacy. The result indicates that the school nurse needs more resources and more time in their professional role to maintain the positive spirit that is at the same time as the profession is the world’s best job. The results also show that tools are needed to help the school nurse in their educational role but also in dealing with difficult situations. Full textSports as a phenomenon have become increasingly commercialized and professionalized globally as in Sweden. This means that the sports sector today has more full-time employees within the associations. This applies to both the major associations engaged in elite activities and smaller associations with broad-based activities. Increased Professionalization of sport also implies greater demands on both the associations and its employees to deliver good results. The purpose of this study was to create an understanding of how employees in football associations, experience the psychosocial work environment and work-related stress at their workplaces. In order to achieve the purpose of the study following question was asked: How do the football coaches experience their psychosocial work environment and work-related stress? Based on the purpose of the study, the qualitative research method was chosen with semi-structured interviews. For this study, four employees were interviewed from four different football associations. The analysis of data has been done with a qualitative content analysis. The study results showed that half of the respondents experienced that stress level at work was relatively normal and the other half felt that the work-related stress was too high. To sum up the respondents' general perception of the psychosocial work environment, all respondents reported that they felt good and enjoyed working. Based on the results of the study, it is primarily social support that is a key factor in the overall positive experience of the psychosocial work environment.

Method: This is a case study of an employee controlled organization. The study has a deductive approach and has assumed a qualitative research strategy with the purpose of achieving a deeper understanding of how respondents perceive their working environment. The primary data has been collected through ten semi structured interviews. The theoretical framework derives from the job demand-control-support model. Conclusion: An employee controlled organization amount to high demands of participation, commitment and decision making. Our study has shown that high levels of control that prevails in an employee controlled organisation can be perceived as demands. An employee controlled organization also postulates that individuals is available to and support colleagues, it is also expected of individuals to ask for help when needed. Accordingly we find that the social support is crucial to be able to handle the high demands and high control of an employee controlled organization. Full textEveryone wishes to be able to go to work without anxiety and to being able to leave work with a positive feeling. Some people go to work feeling troubled and return to their homes with memories of a frightening and threatening situation that arose during the day. Teachers are subjected to violations, threats and violence in their occupation, which affects them both personally and within their work environment. Number three of the eight Public Health policy objectives include, among other things, increased health at work something that some teachers may miss out on. The purpose of the study was to investigate the extent to which high school teachers are exposed, violations, threats and violence and whether this had any connection with teacher’s sick leave. Quantitative data were collected through surveys that were filled in by teachers in 7th and 9th grade at primary-schools. Analysis regarding both descriptive and analytic forms were presented to answer the questions included in the studies aim. The results showed that the majority of respondents were subjected to violations, threats and /or violence and that almost half of the respondents perceived that pupils' treatment affected them negatively and that student behavior was better in the past. However, teachers' exposure to violations, threats and violence, could not be linked to sick leave. The conclusion is that teachers are a vulnerable professional group who need to be strengthened and offered functional tools to be able to carry out their profession with the Requirements Control support model and that the school as an arena needs to be reviewed and made safer.

Full textAcademic teachers are surrounded by many demands from different directions and a high workload that they need to handle in order to balance their working and personal life. Research is inadequate how academic teachers manage to balance their high workload with their privacy. Purpose: The aim of the study is to illuminate the balance between work and personal life in the higher education sector from a health education perspective. Theoretical reference framework: The theoretical frame of reference consists of a health theoretical point of departure in the demand-control and support model and an educational starting point in adaptation and development- oriented learning. Method: The methodology from which the study is based is of a qualitative nature where the empirical material was collected through three focus group interviews. A total of thirteen college teachers participated in the study. The study commuted between a deductive and inductive mode of work and the material was analyzed by the analysis method categorization. Result: The worksituation of academic teachers is characterized by both organizational and individual requirements and this combination of requirements can create boundless work depending on the individual's personality. In order to handle the demands of academic teachers, they develop different individual strategies. They also experience a high level of control, which is described as both positive and negative as they experience job satisfaction, yet provide high levels of control that they work a lot of overtime and from home. Academic teachers describe shortcomings in social support, since the higher education sector is characterized by highly individual-based tasks and more team- based work is desired. Conclusion: The main conclusion drawn is that the boundary between work and privacy consists of several different boundaries that are difficult to define, and that the attitude of academic teachers is that they adapt and that they accede to the prevailing working conditions instead of counteracting and changing them.

The study consisted of 57 quantitative- and two qualitative sub-questions (Parding, et al., 2018). This study is based on qualitative interpretation of 1,443 upper secondary school teachers' open answers to the two open qualitative sub-questions. The study intends to identify factors that public- and private sector employed upper secondary school teachers consider to be opportunities, obstacles and challenges in their profession, in regards of work environment and working conditions. The study also intends to study whether there are differences and/or similarities between public- and private sector employed upper secondary school teachers' perceptions about their work situation. Moreover the study intends to study what factors affect the upper secondary school teachers' decision to stay or leave the profession. In order to better understand and explain the study's results, Robert Karasek and Töres Theorells (1990) two- and three dimensional models regarding psychosocial work environment are used. The result suggests that there is widespread consensus among the public- and the private sector employed upper secondary school teachers’ perceptions of the profession. The result shows that the majority of upper secondary school teachers experience the municipalization, the free-school reform, the high demands, the administrative tasks and the lack of staff in the school as the greatest obstacle to the profession. Furthermore, most of the upper secondary school teachers in this study consider that the salary level, the profession's status and lack of support from school leaders constitute obstacles in their work. They also consider that it is in these areas that the most important improvement opportunities exist, but also constitute reasons for leaving the profession. The upper secondary school teachers also demand more skill development and collaboration in general and within their own teaching subject in particular. Most of the upper secondary school teachers indicate that teaching is the part of the profession that is the profession's main merit and is the reason why they stay in the profession. In the result, no clear differences can be discerned between public and private sector upper secondary school teachers' perceptions of the profession. The differences that can be discerned in the result can rather be interpreted due to the specific work situation of the individual upper secondary school teacher than to the management. Full textSamhällsförändringar som globalisering och teknisk utveckling har förändrat arbetslivet vilket gjort att förutsättningarna för begrepp som krav och kontroll kan ha förändrats. Syftet med denna studie var att ur ett åldersperspektiv identifiera eventuella huvudeffekter av nya krav och former av kontroll på mental ohälsa men även modererande effekter av kontroll på sambandet mellan krav och mental ohälsa. En enkät skickades till en revisionsfirma och gav 251 svar. Fyra regressionsanalyser utfördes och visade att måloklarhet hade ett signifikant samband med mental ohälsa får både yngre och äldre medan otydlighet kring när arbetsuppgiften är avklarad endast var signifikant för yngre. Samtidigt visade sig autonomi ha en modererande effekt på sambandet mellan måloklarhet och mental ohälsa. Detta resultat ger insikter kring nya krav och hur de varierar mellan yngre och äldre men visar också tvärtemot tidigare forskning på att hög autonomi faktiskt kan leda till högre mental ohälsa än låg autonomi.
