Thesis "Critical thinking of high school students - the method of verification of the news" focuses on the analysis of the media literacy of Czech high school students. The aim of the work was to find out how students validate information and whether they do so at all. I also focused on their critical thinking of the news and if they are able to recognize misinformation. I divided this thesis into two parts - theoretical part and the analysis. In the theoretical part, I focused on media concepts, issues of the digital media era and the inclusion of media education in the curriculum. I divided the research into two parts - quantitative and qualitative. In the first part of the research, I sent a questionnaire to the students from various high schools. I got 339 responses. Then I went deeper into the topic and did individual interviews with a sample of 11 students. The results of the questionnaire survey revealed that students are able to work with various sources of information, in most of them verify reports, and almost all can recognize misinformation. Due to the already conducted research of media literacy in the Czech Republic, I did not expect this positive result. However, in individual interviews in which I treated the respondents more in depth, the weaknesses of their media education became...

Annotation: The diploma thesis focuses on cooperative activities connected with methods of critical thinking in the teaching of music education. I follow up on my annual paper dealing with cooperative games in primary school education. In my previous teaching practice, I focused on group teaching. It is the co-operative activities that offer a synergy of a particular group of pupils, thus not only helping to achieve learning objectives, but also strengthening the positive relationships among pupils within the group. The cooperation offers scope for the development of critical thinking among pupils. In conjunction with other alternative forms of learning, it develops the pupil's musical abilities more effectively (unlike normal frontal education). I started to devote myself to this topic mainly because I did not meet with a similarly invigorating approach in my previous practice in schools. It was a strong motivation for me to explore this issue and try it practically. I would like to give my teacher colleagues new insights into the concept of music education. The work explains the basic concepts of cooperative teaching. It brings the methods and forms of teaching that are appropriate for the development of the necessary key competencies. My goal will not be to focus on all the key competencies the pupil...

The thesis doesn't focus solely on social networks, it also addresses the subject matter of critical thinking since one of the problematic aspects of using social networks by young people is the fact that they use multiple sources of information without further verification. Following the results of the research, short-term activities of primary prevention for both target groups are proposed. They aim to encourage the development of critical thinking and media studies. Abstract:
There is still a totalitarian regime in some countries of the world. This regime does not allow its citizens to develop their individual development, violates human rights and does not respect a personal freedom. There is an obvious centralisation of power, suppressed diversity and very strong tool of power is ideology in these states. A way of thinking of a ruling establishment, but also of people who are in thrall of the totalitarian regime could be called as a totalitarian thinking. Theodor Adorno was concerned by the critique of such thinking and he also wanted to name the pathological attributes of such thinking. Adorno's main idea is the concept of identity and non-identity: how we name the world. We need to name the the reality around us, because as humans this ability to categorise influences our view of reality. It is how we judge society and our behaviour within it. The opinions of Theodor Adorno are accompanied by Václav Havel's reflections. Havel lived the significant part of his life in totalitarian Czechoslovakia and throughout his works he was concerned with the phenomenon of a "post-totalitarian system ". The texts of both of these thinkers form the basis for the personal attempt of the author to discuss the phenomena which lead to totalitarianism.

Abstract:
The theoretical part of the diploma thesis summarizes basic facts related to the global climate change and provides up-to-date knowledge on the issue of genetically modified plants more resistant to stress factors of environment, including specific examples of strategies regarding preparation of genetically modified plants resistant particularly to abiotic stress. Although genetically modified plants and global climate changes belong to very important and current issue which public and foremost young generation should be sufficiently aware of, contemporary biology books and high school framework educational program pay to the issue very little attention. Therefore, the goal of this thesis is not only to summarize the basic facts and current knowledge regarding this issue but mainly to handle the issue in didactic level in the form of activating learning tasks. There were 28 learning tasks created in the thesis that gradually in unconventional way familiarize students with the issue of genetically modified plants and with the impacts of climate changes. Students must actively acquire information from accompanying materials to address the tasks properly, think critically over them, utilizing acquired knowledge and experience from the past to some extent. Fourteen tasks were chosen from the file created which...

The thesis attempts to outline the extent to which the decision-making role of nurses is utilized, and the main factors that affect decision-making of nurses within the scope of provision of nursing care. The research has found out that nurses utilize their decision-making role to an insufficient extent hence the sense and purpose of decision-making must be emphasised again. This task may be assumed by managing nurses. Managing nurses may also contribute by more effective defending of competences of nurses. From the factors needed by nurses for effective decision-making, attention should be paid particularly to education. It is necessary to make possible for nurses to extend their knowledge and thus to obtain theoretical insight (e.g. in respect of decision-making) to be used by them while providing care to a patient/client.

Abstract:
Dissertation thesis "How to think Architecture in a new way. Late though of Peter Eisenman and his critical theory of architecture" tries to summarise and analyse the key thoughts of architect and thinker Peter Eisenman in his late oeuvre. The point of departure of his theoretical thinking seems to be refusal of any timeless essence of architecture and a will to "dislocate" architecture from influence of metaphysics. The way to this is "criticality", a notion constituted with three basic terms: interiority (the interiority of architecture defines the discipline, what it is that makes architecture singular), exteriority (external concepts that change architecture by being internalised into the discipline and changing it) and anteriority (anteriority is the sedimented history of architecture; history of interiority). These three terms are according to Eisenman connected in a notion of "undecidability" that serves as a central criterium to criticality and in a "diagram" that is a mean to overcome metaphysical implications of architecture. At the end of the thesis there is a summary of Eisenman's theoretical work and its importance and an attempt is made to set so conceived whole in its entirety to the thought of "end of metaphysics". In this context is Eisenman seen to be in a position similar from...

Shaping of students' attitudes in geographical education - the issue of Ips typographus outbreaks Abstract The diploma thesis deals with shaping the students' attitudes by utilising various texts during the geography classes. This experiment is shown on particular problem of Spruce Bark Beetle in the National Park of Šumava. There are two main streams towards this issue of Spruce Bark Beetle-one of them promotes the idea of incorporating the human intervention, while reducing the disaster, the other follows the opposite attitude towards the outbreak of the Spruce Bark Beetle, and that is not to intervene at all and to leave the destructed vegetation to regenerate. The backbone of the thesis is represented by a survey that aims at finding attitudes towards the problem mentioned above. Moreover, the survey also questions the way the attitudes change depending on critical reading of distinctive texts. Two main questions are posed in this research. Abstract:
The thesis entitled "Genesis of Russian propaganda as a serious security threat of the 21st century from the perspective of NATO and EU" examines the phenomenon of contemporary Russian propaganda. Russia commonly uses propaganda as a tool of promoting its interests. Russian propaganda is very sophisticated, aggressive, and massive. Mainly due to the effective use of the internet and social networks, Russian online actors are able, in a short space of time, to successfully generate an information chaos, which is difficult to navigate in. Contemporary Russian propaganda has several key aspects, namely the anti-American and anti-European orientation, attacks on Western democratic values, and the mixing of truth with fiction. Thus, propaganda becomes an effective weapon in the information war that the Kremlin has initiated. The West is aware of these alarming issues and tries to respond. The thesis analyzes the development of the perception of the Kremlin propaganda by the Western international security organizations NATO and EU. At the same time, it attempts to identify the moment when Russian propaganda began to be perceived as a serious security threat. Whereas the key of the analysis is to interpret the perception of Russian propaganda, the concept of securitization was chosen as the theoretical...

Abstract:
Diplomová práce Spor o pozitivismus v německé sociologii. Renáta Vondráková. 2012. Abstract The main theme of the work is the issue of positivism dispute, which is commonly referred to discussions that occurred in German sociology in the sixties. It was a debate between advocates of critical theory, which were Theodor W. Adorno and Jürgen Habermas, and the concept of critical rationalism of Karl R. Popper and Hans Albert. The discussion initially was confined to issues related to the logic of the social sciences, for many reasons, but rather applied to differences between the concepts and challenges of science from the perspective of both the above approaches. Also the description and discovery purposes and contexts that led to the overturning topic discussion are devoted to this work. The aim is to describe the external influences as widely as possible and how it affected the final understanding of the dispute, but also how well the positivism dispute turned the concepts of science in the following period. The first part is concerned with social and historical situation in which the dispute arose. Followed by an outline of key terms that in connection with a dispute likely occur, in fact it is the analysis of major issues. Abstract:
The aim of the study was to demonstrate that the reading strategies can be applied even for the preschool children. These strategies help children to understand the text read out aloud. In the theoretical part I am devoted to define the concept of pre-reading literacy, its connection with critical thinking and introducing the program Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking. I also clarified the relationship between reading skills and reading strategies, approached selected reading strategies and possible methods for their development. In conclusion of the theoretical part I outlined some of the strategies that might be suitable for working with preschool children. In the practical part I focused on the acquisition of individual strategies for preschool children, for the exact strategies: connecting (text to self, text to text, text to world), visualizing, predicting, reasoning, summarizing and questioning. Each of them I presented on concrete examples. I also proposed an integrated project involving work with these strategies, which I realized and then analysed. Based on the results of research, I have concluded that preschool children can work very well with these strategies, while indicating that these significantly contribute to the comprehension of the text of preschool children.
