Natural language processing is one of the essential activities of artificial intelligence. There is an excellent need for chatbots that require integration into artificial intelligence applications. The local language makes the process easier. Our research aims to analyze the possibilities and challenges of implementing a chatbot in the Kumaon language. We also provide a detailed survey of the Kumaon language and map it to other languages to make it easier to process it for industrial use. This chatbot can help with various needs and services in the Kumaon language. The method used in this research is a study analysis of the Kumaon language to deal with language extinction. The novelty in this research is a chatbot in the Kumaon language with end-to-end encryption so that the service user has good security.

In the article the writings of a specialist strutynskogo language expert kipchatova, Professor abana Kuryshzhanova study written monument "Code kumanikus", as well as the heritage monument written in the language of Kuman Kipchak, in lingvokulturologicheskom, including bibliographic aspect. Scientific evidence that Kipchaks in the middle ages had the status of not only the Kipchak Association, but also the state language, is reflected in every work of the scientist. Scientific articles and major works of the scientist, which set out specific linguistic facts that served as the basis for the formation of the sphere of Kipchak studies in the ethnic culture and worldview of the Turkic peoples, will serve as the basis for determining the medieval appearance of the Kazakhs. Studying a language Kuman - Kipchak writing monuments, it is a frequency dictionary, and represents a special case in scientific practice in the study of other monuments.

Abstract:
This paper presents the fieldwork data on the interaction of actionality, aspect, and tense in counterfactual conditional clauses of the Kuban dialect of Kabardian, a polysynthetic Northwest Caucasian language. Kabardian shows non-trivial similarities to Romance languages in its use of the Imperfective Past suffix as a marker of counterfactuality — alone or as a part of the complex marker of the Pluperfect marker where the Imperfect attaches to the Preterite (perfective past). I show that the choice between several types of marking in counterfactual protases (the plain Imperfect, the Pluperfect, and the simple Preterite) primarily depends on actional class and viewpoint aspect: perfective counterfactuals employ either the Pluperfect or the Preterite, while imperfective counterfactuals require the Imperfect, which is in line with the more general distribution of these tense-aspect forms. Theoretical implications of the tense-aspect marking in Kuban Kabardian counterfactual conditionals are also briefly discussed.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the initial stage of Ukrainization in the Kuban, which consisted mainly of a purposeful and consistent introduction of the Ukrainian language and culture into the life of the population. After the February 1917 events in Russia, various national movements, where they were present, sharply intensified. In particular, the Cuban-Ukrainian movement in the Kuban also became more active. Initially, measures for this implementation were planned to be implemented in the sphere of education, mainly school. At the first stage it was spontaneous, at the initiative of the inhabitants of some localities, but with the support of the Kuban Territorial and legislative rads. The Kuban Parliament, immediately after its formation in March 1917, announced to the Provisional Government its plans to create an extensive network of Ukrainian schools, to use the Ukrainian language more widely, to promote its implementation in church services.

The aim of the article is to justify the concept of a contrastive dictionary of the language of Kuban Cossacks’ folk song culture. This dictionary should demonstrate the bilingual nature of the Kuban Cossacks’ song folklore in the context of Russian and Ukrainian folk speech traditions, and become the basis for identifying the ethnolinguistic and ethnopsychological features of the Kuban Cossacks – a subethnos that has formed its own special traditional culture for over three centuries. The contrastive analysis of each culturally significant lexeme is organized in two blocks depending on the research base: Russian-language songs (songs of the Kuban Line Cossacks and Russian folk songs), Ukrainian-language songs (songs of the Kuban Black Sea Cossacks and Ukrainian folk songs). The article presents the concept of contrastive dictionary of the Kuban Cossacks’ folk songs; its originality is determined by the peculiar forming conditions of the Kuban folklore language caused by the settlement history of the Kuban territory. The existing experience of compiling contrastive dictionaries cannot be fully applied to the language of Kuban folklore, in which Russian and Ukrainian language folk traditions are mixed in a complex way. The dictionary is based on the ideographic principle. The thematic approach fully reflects a particular fragment of the linguistic world-image and provides great opportunities to study the place of separate language units in this fragment. Due to the significance of the task, attention is focused on one thematic group – “Man’s World”. The structure of the dictionary entry of the developed dictionary reflects linguistic features of lexemes: it gives an idea of the lexical and morphological paradigmatics, family of words (within the analyzed lexicon), their co-occurrence properties (syntagmatic aspect), and the originality of use (functional aspect). Such a structure of the dictionary entry allows not only describing the linguistic features of the analyzed lexeme, noting the presence of qualitative (cultural, conceptual) asymmetry in equivalent lexemes, but also identifying the deep implicit meanings reflected in the co-occurrence properties of the word and understanding the concept verbalized by the analyzed lexeme. The justified concept of the contrastive dictionary of Kuban folk songs should contribute to the solution of many problems of modern lexicography – studies of the possibilities of using contrastive dictionaries in folklore and author’s (writer’s) lexicography, lexicography of a multicultural region.

This study aims to identify social changes that occur and map various economic benefits of the tourism potential of Tanjung Puting National Park (TNTP). For the people of Kelurahan Kumai Hulu. The benefits of this study are expected to provide information for relevant agencies for the development of TNTP tourism planning and management. There are socio-economic changes that occur to the people of Kumai Hulu, Kumai Sub-district, West Kotawaringin Regency due to the existence of TNTP tourism. Social changes are marked by the awareness of association or grouping in the Kumai community. There are two community associations, namely the Klotok Wisata Kumai Association and the Indonesian Tour Guide Association. Some values shift in the city due to tourism, before around Kumai Hulu many liquor and stall shops were young people who often gathered and drank. Where the needs and demands of tourism conditions are increasingly more significant, foreign tourists make working people start learning foreign languages, for example, Mr. Arsyad who is only a klotok worker until he becomes a guide, by self-taught with direct tourists. Aware of Kumai's public education by referring to choosing education about tourism. Some values shift in the community due to tourism, before around Kumai Hulu many liquor and stall shops were young people who often gathered and drank. Where the needs and demands of tourism conditions are increasingly higher, foreign tourists make working people start learning foreign languages.

Abstract:
The present paper deals with personal names mentioned by Demetrios Chomatenos which can with some certainty be identified as Slavic in origin. For the greater part, these are well-known Slavic names, often of Common Slavic origin, also attested in other Slavic languages. A couple of uncommon names is also attested, such as Svinjilo and Svinja (Sb?niloz, Sbina). Among the names of non-Slavic origin, it is the Saints' names that are most commonly found, but some others are attested as well, like Kuman, Sarakin or Kandid all of them well known among the South Slavs. The Slavonic ethnicity of the carriers of these names can as a rule be established by tracing their family relations. In the course of the 11th and 12th centuries, family names became quite common and stable in Byzantium, at least with aristocratic families. As first noted by Jacques Lefort, some paroikoi on the territories belonging to the monasteries of the Holy Mountain had family names, too, but these tended to appear sporadically and to disappear after some time. Demetrios Chomatenos' judicial decisions show that at that period family names were carried by the majority of the inhabitants of Byzantine Macedonia, Epirus and other regions (including women, sometimes even monks), not only the members of the elite. However, the Slavic population of these regions still often stuck to the ancient custom of naming a person only with a personal name sometimes supplemented by a patronymic. This notwithstanding, more than twenty persons did have, apart from their Slavic name, another one, usually of Christian origin. Although the data do not always allow for an unequivocal identification of the functions of each of these names, it can be safely assumed that they are not instances of double personal names, but rather that the name of Christian origin functions as a personal name, the Slavic one as a family name. This is quite certain for the family of Svinjilos from Berroia (Ponem. Diaph. 81) and very probable for the family of Ljutovojs (Litobonz) from Skoplje (59). People with double names are usually persons of some importance, members of local aristocracy, imperial clerks or high representatives of the clergy, which is indicated by the fact that their names are often preceded by epithets like megaliphaestatoz, pansebastoz sebastoz, kyr or by administrative titles like arch?n. Family names are usually not grammatically different from personal names, mostly because it was common to simply take a personal name of an ancestor as the family name without further modifications, just like in Byzantine families. Chomatianos' judicial decisions yield only two derived family names, both formed from a Slavic stem with the Greek suffix -poyloz (Bogdanopoyloz, Serbopoyloz). Family names among the Slavs are attested at the same period in Dalmatian towns, whereas they are virtually unknown in the areas predominantly inhabited by Serbs, as evident from the Chrysobulls of Decani and other Serbian medieval documents.

Abstract:
Modern Ukrainian literature considers Anatoly V. Lunacharsky an opponent of Ukrainisation. The reason for this are some little-known statements made by the people's Commissar of Education of the RSFSR in September 1926 in Krasnodar before school employees. According to the 1926 census, there were many Ukrainians among the local population. Therefore, in accordance with the adopted course on “indigenization”, it was decided to open national schools. In the Kuban there were both active supporters and opponents of Ukrainisation. There were people who insisted on the need to carry out not Ukrainisation, but Kubanisation. When Lunacharsky answered questions about school policy in the Kuban, he advised that the Kuban language be used in schools. Modern historiography pays little attention to this subject. We can assume that the Russian people's Commissar tried to maneuver between the supporters and opponents of Ukrainisation in the North Caucasus. It took into account the desire of the population to give their children an education in educational institutions with Russian as the language of instruction. The article analyzes the situation in which Lunacharsky made this statement, analyzes the features of national policy in the Kuban, and considers attempts to influence the situation in the region made by the leadership of Soviet Ukraine.

В системе фольклорных жанров особое место отводится жанровым формам, сохраняющим свою актуальность в современной культуре. Данная статья посвящена изучению современного бытования одного из малых нелирических фольклорных жанров - загадки. В работе раскрывается своеобразие загадок, зафиксированных в различных районах Краснодарского края в 70-90-е гг. ХХ века. Авторы исследования исходят из постулата, что в основе формирования языка фольклора лежит картина мира, которая отражает определенные ментальные установки. В фольклорном дискурсе особенно отчетливо проявляются миромоделирующие потенции языка. Тезаурус кубанских загадок связан со структурой мифопоэтической картины мира, отраженной в фольклоре Кубани. В данной статье миромоделирующая функция описана на материале народных паремий: малый нелирический жанр загадки рассмотрен в сопоставительном аспекте - сравнительно-типологический метод послужил исследовательским инструментарием данной работы. Этот метод позволил выявить сходства и различия загадок русского и украинского народов в специфической языковой контаминации говоров Кубани, определить их художественно-поэтическое своеобразие. Слияние двух языковых культур, русской и украинской, особым образом выразившееся в создании кубанского диалекта, обусловило специфику региональных вариантов общерусских загадок. In the system of folklore genres, a special place is given to the genre forms that retain their relevance in modern culture. This paper dwells upon the study of the current form of existence of folklore genres - a riddle. The work reveals the peculiarity of riddles recorded in various regions of Krasnodar Krai in the 70-90s of the 20th century. The authors claim that the formation of the folklore language is based on the picture of the world which reflects certain mental attitudes. In the folklore discourse the world-modeling potentials of a language are particularly clearly manifested. The thesaurus of Kuban riddles is connected with the structure of the mythopoetic picture of the world reflected in the folklore of Kuban.This paper describes the world-modeling function on the basis of the folk paremia: a small non-lyric genre of riddles is considered in a comparative aspect - the comparative-typological method served as the research tool for this work.This method made it possible to identify similarities and differences in the riddles of the Russian and Ukrainian peoples in the specific language contamination of the dialects of Kuban, to determine their artistic and poetic specifics. The merger of the two language cultures - Russian and Ukrainian - which was particularly expressed in the creation of the Kuban dialect and which determined the specificity of the regional variants of common Russian riddles.

Abstract:
Introduction. The article scrutinizes the 1727 Kalmyk-Kuban contacts and — within the latter — the role of the rebellious Sultan Bahti Giray of Kuban to have dramatically destabilized the Russian-Ottoman steppe frontier. The recent years witness an increasing interest in Bahti Giray’s biography examined in a series of special publications. Goals. The paper aims to introduce some newly discovered data on Kalmyk-Kuban relations. Materials. The work focuses on materials from the National Archive of Kalmykia to have collected unique documents of correspondence between Kalmyk princes and South Russian authorities, as well as secret eyewitness reports on Kalmyk-Kuban contacts. Results. The article provides a detailed historical review of Kalmyk-Kuban relations as of 1727. Conclusions. In 1726–1727, Bahti Giray — after a number of misfortunes — joined another struggle for power in Kuban with the military aid of the Kalmyks. Kalmyk leaders were eager to seize the opportunity for minimizing any threats from Kuban rather than for regaining control over Yedisan and Jamboiluk Nogais. So, those were common military and political interests that brought Bahti Giray and Kalmyk chieftains together. Meanwhile, the Russian Government was worried enough by the tense situation in the Russian-Turkish frontier and sought for various means to neutralize the rebellious sultan — from political murder to proclamation of a protectorate, the latter having been welcomed by both the sultan himself and most Kalmyk princes that took an active part in the negotiation process. However, Colonel V. Beklemishev who was acting as Russia’s chief representative throughout the negotiations did fear the two parties may have initiated a political imitation but had no efficient levers to influence the situation and cancel the forthcoming Kuban campaign.

The first part of the article deals with the description of the linguo-cognitive essence of blood relatives’ relations in the dialect world view of the Kuban region inhabitants through revealing some specific character of connotive content of Blood Relatives microfield representatives. The research is synchronous and diachronous, as well. As a result, it reflects the dynamics of some Blood Relatives microfield representatives and no development of others. Moreover, its ethnical identity consists of the grandparents :: grandchildren binary opposition, which is absent in the literary language. It is based on priority ranking (formed in the mind of dialect carriers) of time assessment in Cossack reference system. It reveals the dual nature of relations between grandparents and grandchildren in the Kuban sub-dialect carriers’ perception. And it discovers the dialect nominations which have no counterparts in the lexical-phraseological system of literary language and which demonstrate the conceptualization of corresponding notions in the mind of Kuban region inhabitants.

Abstract:
An anthropological study of „religious /ritual language‟ concerns the relationship between the study of language and the study of culture. This article, using ethnolinguistics and ethnographies of communication as tools of study, examines how the Mundhum language distinctively maintains ethnographic communication by use of the ritual language, and communicates the social worldviews and cultural cognition of Limbu community. The Limbu, known also by endonym "Yakthung", are one of historically notable indigenous communities of Nepal. They have their own distinctive culture based on traditional ritual performances guided by Mundhum. The Mundhum is narrated and recited by Limbu ritual/religious actants/officiants in cultural/ritual observations, that is, rituals from pre-birth to after death. The study focuses on the issue how the Mundhum language, also known as Ritual Language (RL), is distinctive to the everyday language or Ordinary Language (OL) and helps express their cultural perceptions, behaviours and way of life. In doing so, it also shows the way this ritual/liturgical language influences not merely the kinds of speech but also the aspects of tradition, culture and way of life.

Abstract:
The main directions of Ukrainization policy in the South of Russia in the 1920s and 1930s are analyzed. Key attention is paid to the specifics of Ukrainization in the sub-regional context. Common and distinctive features of the policy of Ukrainization in the Don, Kuban, Stavropol, Terek and Black sea regions are revealed. The factors that influenced the specifics of its implementation are highlighted, in particular, the ethnosocial and cultural structure of the East Slavic population, the level of motivation of party and Soviet employees, the availability of qualified personnel and the development of professional education in the Ukrainian language. It is emphasized that the policy of Ukrainization in the South of Russia was asynchronous and uneven. It is shown that the center of Ukrainization was Kuban, first of all the Kuban district, where Ukrainization proceeded most dynamically and successfully. It was possible due to a complex of factors, primarily the proximity of the Kuban population to the Ukrainian cultural and language norm. The cultural and linguistic synchronicity of the Kuban Cossack and peasant population was an important aspect. On the contrary, on the Don, in addition to social contradictions, ethnic and cultural differences between Cossacks and peasants persisted, a significant part of which had little Russian origin. It is noted that the least results of the policy of Ukrainiza-tion reached in Stavropol and Terek, where the little Russian population was almost assimilated with Russian peasants and Cossacks. Attention is drawn to the fact that the policy of Ukrainization was an integral part of national construction in the East Slavic environment. It is emphasized that despite the sub-regional ethnic and cultural specifics in the South of Russia and the different dynamics of Ukrainization, the vast majority of the population under Ukrainization had a “floating” Russian-Ukrainian identity.

Any scientific discipline undoubtedly encounters different challenges in their development over time. However, with the rise of modern technologies, such challenges expanded to new dimensions. In linguistics, corpus studies have already proven their advantages, and many researchers and other users enjoy the richness of different corpora, spreading enthusiasm and courage to treat linguistics interdisciplinarily. At the same time, minority languages and poorly studied languages are also gaining researchers' attention. Modern technologies further motivated different translation tools, which globalize the world with an enormous speed and seems to dicrease the relevance of language study and foreign language learning. However, the needs for interest in languages remain high. Though perhaps in a different form. This issue comprises the above ideas in five articles. Mayuri L. DILIP and Rayesh KUMAR coauthored the article “Clitic or Agreement Restriction in Santali: A Typological Analysis”, in which they investigated the syntactic configuration of pronominal number marking in Santali, the third most-spoken Austroasiatic language, from syntactic, morphological and prosodic perspective. The following article “Contextual factors and language: an analysis of order placements” was written by Andrej BEKEŠ. It tackles Japanese in a specific social context, namely written ordering requirements on a crowdsourcing website, and reports negative correlation between the level of added value of such requirements and the quality of linguistic expression, comparing it to the Grice’s maxims of conversation. ITO Hideaki's article “Orthoepic Competence Descriptors in Japanese Language Education: CEFR Levels B1 to C2” overviews the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and the JF Standard for Japanese-Language Education to discuss the benefits of their merging. In particular, the author re-examines CEFR descriptors for levels B1 to C2 in a non-alphabetically transcribed Japanese, which have not yet been attempted, and combine them with the results for levels A1 and A2 to present descriptors for levels A1 to C2 in overall. KIM Yu Young in his article “Development and Operation Results of Japanese Accent Perception Test Based On e-learning System” introduced the [AJ-phonetic Test] system, an online tool for practicing perception of Japanese word accent, presented its benefits through a longitudinal study on Korean learners of Japanese. Finally, Miha PAVLOVIČ wrote an article entitled “Grammar Errors by Slovenian Learners of Japanese: Corpus Analysis of Writings on Beginner and Intermediate Levels”. In it he first presents how to construct such a corpus, and then presents his analysis of grammar errors that a collection of 182 written texts written by Japanese learners contained. The paper discusses socially isolated dialects of the Russian language with a high positive rating of prestige by the native speakers. Pomorian dialect is partially codified. The Kuban Cossacks have Russian-Ukrainian origin, only the Ukrainian balachka (балачка) was codified. The Don prestige dialect did not receive codification, but because of its social isolation it is not influenced by neighbouring dialects and the literary language.

Intercultural dialogue as a critical component of modern society should contribute to the self-identification of a person in the cultural space. This research aims to demonstrate the importance of multiculturalism— learning a second language in the Russian system of higher education. To accomplish the research objectives, 78 students were recruited at Tula State University, 158 students at Kuban State University and 152 technical students at Moscow Aviation Institute. Analysing and comparing experiments on learning a second language, the findings determine the effective methods and forms of teaching. In doing so, the research foregrounds some forms of effective teaching and indicates the ways to achieve them. In other words, the findings made it possible to identify the effective strategies for teaching a foreign language both in local and global level.

The article is devoted to the issue of the interaction of insular Ukrainian dialects abroad and the foreign dialectal environment. It is emphasized that such interaction is two-way: not only insular dialects adopt the features of contact languages, but vice versa — the impact of insular dialects on the foreign language environment is noticeable, which is illustrated by the example of Ukrainian and Russian dialects of Bashkortostan. The analysis showed that the “Dictionary of the Russian Dialects of Bashkiria” affirms a significant Ukrainian influence on the non-Ukrainian dialects of these areas, as it contains a lot of vocabulary of Ukrainian origin in the dialects that are represented in the dictionary as Russian ones. The analyzed dictionary presents both commonly used Ukrainian lexis, which belongs to the active vocabulary of speech, and passivized lexis, including ethnographicisms, names from the sphere of spiritual culture and nominations of realities that have fallen out of use. It was found that loanwords from Ukrainian presented in the dictionary are different parts of speech. At the same time, the originally Ukrainian lexis in the Russian dialects of Bashkortostan can have a different temporal origin: it can be borrowed not only directly from Ukrainian settlers in Bashkyria, but also brought from genetically Ukrainian areas in the southeast of the Russian Federation (for example, Voronezh region, Kuban, etc.). It creates a certain difficulty for the researcher in analyzing of language material and the need to refer to a wider source background. The Baroque style of architectural building, which had prevailed in much of Europe during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, emerged for the first time in the mid-eighteenth century in Istanbul. It was the Nuruosmaniye mosque in its Baroque tendencies that broke away from the traditional Anatolian and distinctive classical Sinan style of building. As Cerasi puts it, "It is no rough quotation or mere imitation of foreign styles, but a clever transposition of a foreign vocabulary into a perfectly dominated indigenous poesis." (Cerasi 1988: 98) This genius in reversing the roles and borrowing this foreign language of Baroque and applying it on a monument from Ottoman Turkey in a synthesis of two worlds is at the core of the Nuruosmaniye, which is considered one of the best representations of Baroque spirit in the Ottoman Empire. Moreover, what adds to this mystery is the little information regarding the architect and the direct origins that influenced the building of this mosque. This paper addresses the events that led to the building of the Nuruosmaniye and the penetration of Baroque influence into Turkey. While the character of the Nuruosmaniye retains a certain originality amongst the mosques of its time, true recognition of the Nuruosmaniye seems to have been suspended. With the exception of a few historians, the likes of Dogan Kuban and Aptullah Kuran, one may postulate that the Nuruosmaniye has been poorly represented in current historiography on Ottoman art—especially in contrast with previous Ottoman monuments, namely those of the Sinan period. While presenting a rich and rare evaluation of the Nuruosmaniye, this paper attempts to counterbalance the Nuruosmaniye's absence from literature dealing with Ottoman an history.

The article examines the relationship between man and the bird world in the mythical period between the past and the present from a linguocognitive point of view. Cultural semantics of mythical texts with the participation of ornithonyms makes it possible to analyze the linguistic picture of the world in the worldview of an ethnic group. In the research work, a thesaurus of logical, cognitive, mythological, poetic, and linguistic sets of models was formed in well-established precedent texts devoted to ornithonyms, including Samruk kus and Kumai. The article notes that the language units created by means of ornithonyms in Kazakh mythology are closely related to the worldview, culture, psychology, and traditions of the ethnic group. One of the categories that reflect the national identity of an ethnic group is the mythical, national, and folk idea of ornithonyms. It is widely shown that the huge potential of linguistics is determined by the close interaction of other disciplines, such as anthropology, cognition, psychology, philosophy, and mythology.

Abstract:
This study aimed to describe the modalities and propositions in the dialogues of the film entitled Jinniyāt Jabal Kumang based on case grammar theory from Charles J. Fillmore. This is a literary research that applied descriptive-qualitative method. The result of this study showed that from the dialogues there were found three types of time modalities, namely past, present and future; two forms of adverbial modality, i.e.: quantitative and frequency; an a negation modality. Meanwhile, the types of propositions found were the agentive, objective, source, goal, instrument, time, accompanying, benefactive, and locative cases. From the findings, it can be concluded that the case grammar analysis is applicable to Arabic sentence structure similar that of English and Indonesian language.

Abstract Ibrāhīm al-Naḫaʿī (d. 96/714) was the most prominent Follower (tābiʿī) in the Kufan legal tradition, also prominent in the areas of hadith transmission, koranic commentary, and piety. Presumptively, most quotations of him give us the gist of what he said, not his very words; an undetermined proportion of quotations represents not recollection of his positions but positions someone thought he surely must have taken, if asked.

Abstract:
The aim of study is to reveal the common linguocultural character and regional peculiarities of the concept “horse” by analyzing the structure and content of the semantic field of this concept`s verbalizers. The novelty of the research is due to the fact that we have used the dictionaries of local dialects of the Kuban region as a source of lexical items — verbalizers of the semantic field of the concept “horse”. The results obtained show that the general cultural concept “horse” is one of the significant concepts in a retrospective picture of the world of the Russian people. For native speakers, horse was mainly a domestic animal — used for field work or transportation — and, therefore, an emotionally and materially valuable object. At the language level, we could reveal the regional specific character of the concept “horse”. For the Kuban Cossacks a horse was a charger. The charger was a symbol of the military character of Cossacks as the service class whose main duty was to stand guard over the state borders of Russia. The value constituent of the concept was even more significant than in the all-Russian language picture of the world — a horse was of great importance in a Cossack’s life and indicated a high social status.

The article considers the ways of exploiting digital educational media in foreign language teaching at Kuban State University. The authors propose a comprehensive definition of digital educational media, which is an umbrella term for Internet-based media, computer-based media and mobile media used for educational purposes. The digital educational media exploited in foreign language teaching are classified into narrative, interactive, adaptive, communicative and productive according to the function they fulfil and the learning experience they support. The article outlines effective ways of incorporating podcasting, multimedia presentations, digital storytelling and other Internet-based media in foreign language teaching. The authors demonstrate that the ways modern media are applied in teaching English are determined by the teacher and depend on the learning objectives. The findings indicate that modern media can be effectively exploited for curricular purposes and assist in developing both foreign language skills and general learning skills. The research done shows that integration of media education and foreign language teaching proves to be the most promising innovative educational technology employed in modern universities today.

Abstract:
The title of this study is Slang Word Used in Movie Script “Harold And Kumar Go to White Castle”. The aims of the study are to identify the types of slang and meaningconveyed in movie script Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle. The data of this study were collected from” Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle” movie script as the data source. The theories usedin the study are theory proposed by Allan and Burridge (2006) entitled Forbidden words: Taboo and The Censoring of Language used to identify the types of slang word, and theory proposed by by Leech (1974) entitled Study of Meaning used to analyze the meaningsconveyed in the movie. The documentation method is used to collect the data, and descriptive qualitative method is used to analyze the data.There were forty slangs either in the form of words or phrases that areanalyzed based on theorymentioned above. There are five types of slang in theory of Allan and Burridge (2006) but only four types were found in the movie script. Those are fresh and creative, imitative, flippant, acronym, and clipping. Flippant type was the most found in the data source. For the meaning, there were seven types of meaning based on thetheory proposed byLeech (1974) but only six types were found in the movie script. Those are conceptual meaning, connotative meaning, social meaning, collocative meaning, reflected meaning, and affective meaning. Affective meaning type is the most found in the data source.

This paper describes the semantics of falling in Adyghe and Kuban Kabardian from a typological perspective. The analysis is based on corpus data, accompanied by the results of elicitation. Although they represent the same Circassian branch of the Northwest Caucasian family, Adyghe and Kabardian still demonstrate some differences in the way their predicates of falling are lexicalized: while in Adyghe we have a distributive system which includes special lexical means for different types of falling (verbal root -fe- for falling from above, wəḳʷerejə- for losing vertical orientation, -zǝfor detachment, and verbs from adjacent semantic domains such as -we- ‘beat’ for destruction), there is only one dominant (-xwe-) and several peripheral predicates in the Kabardian language. What is peculiar about these languages, when compared to the available typological data, is that the parameter of orientation to the initial (Source) vs. final point (Goal) of movement is of special importance in lexicalizing cases of falling. In Circassian languages, simultaneous surface expression of Source and Goal of movement within a clause is prohibited for morphosyntactic reasons, and the lexemes denoting falling are divided into Source- vs. Goal-oriented ones. For some verbal roots, this orientation is an intrinsic semantic property (cf. -zǝ- which is always Source-oriented); in other cases, it is marked with specifi c affi xes (cf. a locative combination je-…-xǝ ‘down’ which marks re-orientation to the Source of falling of the initially Goal-oriented Adyghe verb -fe-). Thus, our analysis of the material may not only help to contribute to the general typology of falling but may throw light on such a phenomenon in cognitive linguistics as the emphasis on the fi nal point of movement in opposition to the initial point, also known as goal bias

Abstract This article studies the relationship between colophons for, and the content of, Dunhuang manuscripts of three indigenous Chinese Buddhist scriptures: the Jiu zhuzhongsheng kunan jing, the Xin pusa jing, and the Quanshan jing. I find that the aspirations for copying these scriptures and the ways of using them are mostly consistent with their content. The patrons or users of these scriptures seem to have largely understood their content. Also, the similarities in the content, and the length of the Jiu zhuzhongsheng kunan jing and the Xin pusa jing should be two factors that account for why these scriptures were frequently copied as one set. Concerns for one’s own family and the relevant instructions in the texts may have led patrons to prefer to copy the Xin pusa jing twice, but the other two scriptures only once as a single scribal act.

Munji (aka Munjani or Munjiwar; ISO 639-3: [mnj]) is spoken in the Kuran wa Munjan district of Badakhshan province in Afghanistan. Munji is classified as an Indo-European, Indo-Iranian, Iranian, Eastern, Southeastern, Pamir language (Lewis 2009). There are about 5,300 Munji speakers (Beyer & Beck 2011). There are two main dialects, which divide into the northern and southern halves of the valley (see Figure 1). These dialects exhibit some regular sound changes and a small percentage of lexical differences. Munji speakers are aware of the differences, but there is no trouble in mutual understanding.

This article reveals the peculiarities of emotional reflection in Akzhan Nurmanov’s novel “The death of Kulan”. The authors study the role and significance of the emotional reflection in the history of kazakh language on the basis of achievements of world literary criticism. The subject of the study is the artistry of the work, where the experience of impressions and emotional reactions of the protagonist comes to the fore. Fundamental in understanding the poetics of the novel is the feeling of experiences. This paper demonstrates that the evaluation of events in the novel occurs through the system of value coordinates of the hero. It allows us to understand the authors’ concept of personality: what it can or should be. The emotional reflection is in the conflict of the work through the consciousness of Kulan to accept the painful suffering and death with the hero. World literary criticism has developed a new approach to the analysis of the art work. This approach helps to reread the novel where the aesthetic attitude to the hero and his feelings comes to the fore. The object of the artistic image is a personality, its inner world and actions with the logic of the development of life.

Mastering lexical collocation uses in learning English as a foreign language is absolutely essential to develop students’ communicative skills and linguistic abilities. Most students, however, have problems with putting words together in a characteristic of “natural” English native speaker-like manner during writing. Students tend to use strange lexical collocation expressions therefore students’ language production does not sound natural and carries imprecise meaning. With regard to this underlying issue, the main emphasis of the current study was lying on the investigation of the types and the causes of lexical collocation error committed by EFL students in their argumentative writing. Through a qualitative research approach applying a descriptive-analytic method, sixteen university students were chosen purposively. The data were collected from two principal sources i.e., students’ writing samples and semi-structured interviews. In terms of data analysis technique, this study employed an error analysis technique developed by Ellis (1994) to analyze the obtained lexical collocation errors and applied a content analysis technique provided by Kumar (2011) to analyze the interview results. The study revealed 54 erroneousness of lexical collocation production consisting of verb + noun/pronoun (PP), adjective + noun, adverb + adjective, noun + noun, and verb + adverb combination. These errors were caused by a lack of collocation competence, native language influence, the use of synonym, overgeneralization, and approximation.
