Abstract The members of the Byoma Kusuma Sangha, a branch of the Sakyapa Tibetan Buddhist lineage in Kathmandu, Nepal, consists primarily of former Hindus who have converted to Tibetan Buddhism under the leadership of their two chief teachers, Śrīdhar Rāṇā and Nārāyaṇ Prasād Rijāl. Together they have developed a course of study and pedagogical materials to translate Tibetan Buddhism into a set of practices and a philosophical worldview appropriate for their community.
