Příspěvek je zaměřen na efekt, který má zařazení chemie do rámcových vzdělávacích programů pro obory vzdělání středního odborného vzdělávání. Tento efekt je zjišťován jako rozdíl mezi postoji žáků k chemii po ukončení základní školní docházky a po ukončení středoškolské výuky chemie, tedy v prvním ročníku střední odborné školy nechemického zaměření. Zjištěné výsledky jsou propojeny s výsledky dříve provedených výzkumů v této oblasti. Z koncepčního hlediska je nutné podniknout potřebné kroky směrem ke zvýšení kvality výuky chemie na těchto školách, jelikož právě na nich studuje většina žáků středních škol tvořící následně všeobecné mínění společnosti.

Příspěvek objasňuje, jak mohou být poznatky o učení se z obrazového materiálu využity s ohledem na požadavek zlepšování kvality výukových materiálů v geografickém vzdělávání. Cílem narativní přehledové studie je zjistit: a) jak je možné učení se ze zpracování vizuálních geografických informací teoreticky ukotvit, b) jak je možné operacionalizovat geografické vizuálie pro potřeby zkoumání školní výuky zeměpisu/geografie a pro potřeby tvorby učebnic a atlasů, c) zda je možné na základě zmapování dosavadního stavu poznání identifikovat oborově specifická doporučení umožňující srozumitelnou a žákům blízkou statickou vizualizaci geografických jevů. Metodický přístup vychází z rešerše odborné literatury spadající do oblasti kognitivní psychologie a pedagogických věd. Výzkumná zjištění se následně snažíme rozpracovat pro potřeby geografického vzdělávání. V poslední části studie se zamýšlíme, jak mohou být získané poznatky využity ke zlepšování kvality vizuálních prostředků v geografickém vzdělávání.

Téma kvality závěrečných prací obhajovaných na vysokých školách je v kontextu občasných plagiátorských kauz stále živé. Studie zkoumá dokumenty fakult (standardy), které se svým tématem a obsahem váží k závěrečným pracím. Analyzovanou jednotkou jsou dokumenty z prostředí fakult, ústavů (kateder), které v ČR garantují a zajišťují pedagogické obory. Výchozí pozicí pro studii je popis proměny současného kontextu, především přechod na dvoustupňové studium, vzrůstající počet studentů v terciárním vzdělávání v uplynulém desetiletí, důraz na kvalitu a learning outcomes v kontextu konceptu přístupu zaměřeného na studenta a celostátního projektu Q-RAM. Celkem bylo analyzováno 24 dokumentů prostřednictvím strukturní obsahové analýzy s využitím formálních, obsahových, typizujících a stupnicových forem analýzy. Výsledkem je rozkrytí struktury dokumentů, které nám následně umožnilo popis jejich hlavních charakteristik. Jedno ze zjištění dokládá převahu procedurálních charakteristik těchto dokumentů na úkor zdůraznění obsahových náležitostí a oborových standardů, které by studentům jasnou a srozumitelnou formou sdělovaly, co od nich daná instituce očekává. Závěr studie konstatuje, že se jedná o téma, které garantům pedagogických oborů otevírá prostor pro koncepční a tvůrčí práci při vytváření relace mezi kompetencemi absolventů, výstupů učení jednotlivých disciplín a potřebou formulovat smysluplný standard závěrečné práce daného oboru.

Předložená studie přináší do odborného diskurzu o profesionalizaci učitelského povolání pohled na profesní myšlení učitelek mateřských škol s cílem zjistit, jak kvalitní je reflexe učitelek mateřských škol s různou úrovní kvalifikace. V úvodních kapitolách autorky rozvíjí úvahu o vztahu profesionality a kvalifikovanosti, která vyúsťuje do vymezení tří dimenzí profesního myšlení – dimenze poznatkové, reflektivní a subjektivní. V dalším textu se autorky zaměřují již jen na dimenzi reflektivní, která se stala ústředním bodem zkoumání povahy myšlení učitelek mateřských škol s různou úrovní kvalifikace (ISCED 3A a ISCED 5B). Představují modely reflexe (Eby, 2000; Korthagen, 2011; Píšová, 2005), které využily ve svém výzkumu. Zbývající část textu se věnuje metodice výzkumu a zjištěním, která z analýzy dat vyplynula. Výsledky ukazují, že některé pozitivní hodnotící výroky respondentek o jejich práci jsou v kontrastu s výsledky analýzy videonahrávek. Výsledky výzkumného šetření ukázaly, že učitelky, které se cílenou reflexí a realizací technik sebereflexe již zabývaly, využívají vyšších hladin kognitivního myšlení. Podpořily se tak úvahy autorek o profesním myšlení a jeho rozvoji v systematickém zavádění reflexe již v pregraduálním vzdělávání učitelek mateřských škol na pedagogických fakultách.

Příspěvek je věnován autoevaluaci jako strategii ovlivňující kvalitu vzdělávání a podporující rozvoj škol zevnitř. Představuje metodologii vzniku 30 případových studií českých škol, které zachycují průběh i souvislosti autoevaluace. Analýza výstupů studií psaných ve formě příběhů škol pak umožňuje stanovit závěry o charakteru autoevaluačních procesů z hlediska zavádění změny. Ukazuje, že se autoevaluace pozvolna a postupně dostává do života českých škol. V centru zájmu je i posouzení přínosu zvoleného výzkumného designu pro metodologii vícepřípadových studií.

Přes poměrně velké množství prací, které se v mezinárodním kontextu věnovaly zkoumání rodičovských preferencí, neexistuje univerzální shoda na tom, co je pro rodiče při výběru školy nejdůležitější. Obvykle si rodiče cení výsledků vzdělávání, socioekonomického složení žáků, možnosti komunikace a zapojení do života školy nebo tříd s menším počtem žáků, sdílených hodnot a stylu výuky. Cílem stati je popsat charakteristiky dobré školy z pohledu českých rodičů s využitím dat získaných v longitudinálním šetření CLoSE od reprezentativního vzorku 2008 rodičů dětí v předškolním věku, a to pomocí obsahové analýzy a deskriptivních statistik, a porovnat informace zjištěné metodou otevřeného a uzavřeného dotazování. Rodiče očekávají, že škola bude poskytovat jim a jejich dětem individualizovaný přístup orientovaný nejenom na dobré vzdělávací výsledky, ale především na co nejlepší kvalitu života, a umožní jim podílet se na utváření podoby školního vzdělávání svých dětí.

The thesis verifies the relationship between education and economic growth using economic theory and current data about education in the Czech Republic. After verifying this relationship the current state and the form of Czech education are analyzed. Demonstration of declining results of Czech primary and secondary education with the usage of international comparative investigations follows together with the detection of the absence of similar data in tertiary education. These findings direct the main goal of the thesis to ascertain the causes of the declining results of primary and secondary schools and their impact on the quality of higher education. Subsequent analysis of the Czech tertiary education identifies the strengths and weaknesses of the higher education system and also positive and negative trends in this area during the last decade. Final identification of the causes determining the current level and quality of tertiary education leads to the submission of recommendations to improve the quality and increase the competitiveness of Czech universities in international comparisons. Providing top quality education is one of the decisive factors influencing the competitiveness and future economic growth of the country.

Many factors influence quality of higher education. Current research mostly works with economic factors (GDP, higher education expenditures etc.). However, there are also publications that examine an impact of sociological aspects on quality of higher education. My research examined the impact of income inequality on quality of tertiary education. In the analysis of socioeconomic data of 76 countries I have proven that there is no linear relationship between income inequality and quality of tertiary education. According to my results the size of population, GDP per capita and being English speaking country are main drivers of quality of tertiary education. Modified model without outliers also shows that there is a positive effect of R&D expenditures on quality of tertiary education.

The aim of this thesis is to approach a meaning of quality in higher education. The education is perceived as a system where several kinds of investment are transformed into outcomes with an added value. Determining a methodology based on a correlation analysis enables the author to look for links in education systems of selected members of the European Union. These links are interpreted in order to point out the qualitative implications of potential decisions in terms of managing this system both at a central and institutional level. Approaches to quality of tertiary education are presented in order to define the means of quality assessment and selecting a policy of achieving it. The functioning principles of higher education institutions describe the institutions' structure and characteristics. These are complemented with the impact of the European Union initiatives. The properties of higher education are analysed using selected indicators which are assumed to have an influence on education quality. The reasons for their choice are explained and an enouncement of hypotheses is followed by the correlation. The analysis outputs are interpreted and contextualised in accordance to their usability for the stakeholders.

The thesis deals with social communication in economic education with special focus on actual level of students' communication abilities within selected institutions. The special attention is paid to the aspects and the competencies that are crucial to be developed. The work is divided into two parts and two related research problems. The base of the thesis lies in the application of rhetorical and social communication aspects into economic subjects in which the influence of these aspects on the quality of presentation is researched with the help of experimental method and observation. The presentation is focused on economic topic that is presented by students to their colleagues. The evaluation is focused on final quality of presentation (evaluated with the help of selected aspects). Next key part of the thesis is aimed on the development of students' ability to give the arguments in economic subject with the help of active teaching methods. The influence of active teaching methods on students' knowledge is assessed. The students are divided into two groups; the first one is taught with the help of active teaching methods, the second one via classic frontal teaching method. The knowledge of the topic is evaluated by didactic test. The fundamental meaning of active teaching methods with focus on argumentation is highlighted because of its crucial importance for future students' acting in the labour market. The importance of differences between pretest and posttest is evaluated via Paired Two Sample t-test; the importance of differences between experimental and control group via Student's t-test. The main methods used in the work are experiment, observation, scaling, survey, didactic test and statistic interpretations such a Shapiro-Wilk test, F-test, Paired Two Sample t-test, Student's t-test. On the basis of the results there will be suggested integration of rhetorical and communication aspects and of the selected active teaching methods into teaching of economic subjects. The purpose of the work is to show the importance of communication aspects integration into teaching of economic subjects and to suggest the possibilities how to develop the communication aspects.

University in providing quality education needs to determine degree of fulfilment of customer needs. Therefore, the college needs to collect feedback on teaching evaluation by students in a systematic evaluation of teaching quality and its assurance. This thesis first looks at examining the current state of the problem in theory. The goal of the theoretical background of the problem is to provide a facilitator for further studying the problem in a particular situation. The output of the study is therefore an overview of the current state of problems in the Czech Republic and development opportunities. The next step is to map and description of current efforts in the system of the University of Economics, Prague. The work also carried out and evaluates own research among students of the faculty on student quality assessment of education. Work on the basis of these findings and analysis summarizes the recommendations in the issues under consideration, including proposals to modify the information system of the school. Another basis for these recommendations is the experiences of other universities. The main contribution is the proposal of the strategic map, which contains the structural elements of the problems embedded in the institution's strategic goals. The final recommendations of this work are a comprehensive summary of the steps necessary for the effective quality assurance of education in a school.

Main goal of this thesis is to analyze human development index for European countries and provide cluster analysis not only of human development index but even of another quality of life variables and to find similarities between particular countries by using hierarchical methods. The first part focuses on quality of life and definition of human development index. Human development index is one possibility how to measure quality of life, there are mentioned another possibilities, though how to analyze it. The second part of the thesis focuses on cluster analysis definition, which is used for searching for similarities between particular countries. Five hierarchical cluster methods is used for classify countries into clusters. Euclidean metric is used for express the distance between countries. Similar variables between countries is judged according to sorting into clusters by hierarchical methods. Diploma thesis enlightens similarity between European countries from quality of life overview and provides statistical evidence about this topic. Results of the thesis confirms similarities between geographical close states.

This master thesis entitled "Opportunities and limits of evaluating the quality and efficiency in education " explores the possibilities of detecting and evaluating the quality, efficiency and impact of education. The thesis is composed of two parts . The theoretical part describes the basic terms and definitions of the education, presents analysis of approaches to evaluating the quality and effectiveness of further education, including explanations of specific models and evaluation methods which measure the impact of training on person or on the company in general. The empirical part deals with the analysis of the evaluation system of education in practice, particularly in two companies (Wrigley, Staropramen Brewery) and five secondary schools. At the end everything is summarized and some recommendations and suggestions are provided.

Research of the relationship between human capital and economic growth has been significantly developing since 1960s'. This thesis aims to contribute to the topic of human capital, map its importance in the theoretical and empirical economics and examine the influence on macroeconomic growth. In most of the countries human capital and education are budgeted mainly from the public resources thus is the human capital theory important for the public sector as well. First part of the thesis presents the main growth models and its evolution concerning also the human capital. In the second part there is a summary of the most important empirical literature. In the third part I present and comment the results of the empirical analyses. The benchmark data panel covers 92 countries within years 1960-2005. The method of analyses is panel data regression. The primary finding of the thesis is confirmation of the positive influence that human capital has on the economic growth. Third part also tests the most adequate proxy of the human capital. The quality of the human capital as well as the link between quantity and quality are also reflected in the regression analyses.
