Full textIn 2013, the reform of a career mission for teachers appeared, which includes both senior lecturer and First-teachers. This study is directed to First- teachers in the earlier stages of primary school. Since these career missions includes all of Sweden, it is necessary to explain the development that takes place around the First-Teachers mission. The purpose of this study is to investigate how First-teachers, in the early stages of primary school, experience that they promote the quality work of their schools. The study is made by a qualitative approach and the empiricism has been collected by 11 semi-structured interviews. The transcribed material has been analysed with the help of the seven analysing steps of the phenomenography, which creates the “outcome room” of the study. The main reason for why teachers have applied for the post First-teacher is due to recommendations from the head teacher. First-teachers are experiencing the lack of time to prefill their missions. First-teachers are actively working with regulatory documents and judgement reports to persistently develop their teaching situation. Collegial teaching is, according to the First-teachers, a necessity to make sure that they quality proof their teaching. However, today there is no interaction between First-teachers in the same interest groups.

Full textThe taskmaster for this thesis is Skanska Sverige AB Region Stora Projekt, who works with large bridge- and construction projects. Greatest need is to enhance the understanding of the General costs of the projects. Tender calculation means to predict project costs and General costs are a significant part of the project's total cost and is difficult to calculate. This post is, broadly expressed, the construction costs that are used jointly in the project. Ratios compress information in order to make it more accessible to the user. The purpose of this report is to present ratios primarily intended to be used to quality-assure future tender work. The material and data to which the report is based on is internal information about the reference projects and their final reports. For two of the resources ratios can be presented, the same applies to a third based on that the reference projects have similar design. It is reasonable for a fourth. The remainder is too object-specific and there is little underlying data to draw any conclusions. For these require more reference projects in order to obtain reliable data.

Full textThis thesis in rock mechanics was carried out on behalf of Boliden during the period of April to May 2016 at Boliden underground mine in Garpenberg. The bolting rigs in Garpenberg are equipped with a new system to assist the operator to position the rock bolts according to the planned bolting pattern. This means that the planned bolt spacing is manually inserted in the bolt positioning software and by referring to two previously installed bolts the planned location of the next bolting fan is generated and shown in the software. The aim of the thesis was to perform a quality control regarding the bolting rigs navigation system by reference bolting. Through comparing the bolting rigs data log with the measurements of the actual outcome it was determined if the location of the bolts were positioned according to the specified rock support plan. The work was performed by measuring the location of eight bolting fans (a total of 104 installed bolts) with a total station. The data was then compared with a data log that is automatically generated in the software at the installation of each bolt. The data has mainly been analysed using computer software such as AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel in order to calculate deviation of the bolting rigs data log and the measurements of actual outcome (mean values, standard deviation and normal distribution). The result of the measurements shows that 30.4% of all rock bolts are in the range of 0-3 centimetres from their planned locations. The analysis shows a total standard deviation of 0.103 metres. The analysis of deviations requires that the sensors on the joints of the bolting rigs are calibrated for the bolt positioning software and therefore control measurements were carried out.

Full textThe Swedish National Rail Administration has changed in the past decade, from its origin after a less dramatic separation from the Swedish State Railways to becoming an authority with its own identity. Today the National Rail Administration is a large organisation with several different departments, each with its own unique function. To operate train services the railway needs to be “in shape”, leading to a need for maintenance, reinvestments and new investments. For this purpose, the National Rail Administration carries out public procurement where contractors, who are able to perform maintenance and new construction, submit tenders.
Careful planning is required to avoid delays on transport operators as a consequence of railway work. Construction work that requires track closure has the effect that transport operators need to fit changes into their operating schedules. Work requiring lengthy closures need to be negotiated between concerned parties beforehand, so that the closure or re-routing will not come as a shock. It is therefore important that planning is done well in advance and that all concerned parties are heard.
The National Rail Administration is supported by a main process with various sub-processes to facilitate the planning of the work. The local track district within Banverket initiates the process and then the result is handed in to Banverket Rail Traffic for follow-up of the requested work. The follow-up often is a time-demanding task since there are no specially designed tools for this purpose. Banverket Rail Traffic has therefore extended its work process in order to allow for some follow-up. All scheduled work is entered into a customized Excel sheet. The sheet contains information of where and when the work is to be done and what kind of measures are to be taken. This is necessary in order for train dispatchers to be able to direct the trains in a safe way, for passengers as well as for railway workers.
When Banverket Rail Traffic has approved or rejected the requested work, the sheet is forwarded to all concerned parties so that those who intend to perform the work can plan the actual implementation. The planning process is time demanding since it involves several different departments and entrepreneurs. A complicated procedure is started where it is difficult to follow the flow of scheduled work, which in turn leads to errors and that approved work is not being performed. Too often, closures and redirections are done without any work being in progress. The problem with scheduled, but non-performed work is a long known fact and Banverket Rail Traffic is working on various solutions.
A common system where all concerned parties would be able to see the planning status is recommended. Today this is not possible since the Excel sheet from Banverket Rail Traffic has to be forwarded between the departments or e-mail or telephones have to be used. A system common for all parties would probably reduce the share of non-performed work and enable for a higher degree of coordinated planning in order to make train services run smoothly.

Full textKarlstad City has agreed to participate in a global climate strategy to implement the EU's climate ambitions. One effect of this is that the municipality of Karlstad has adopted general requirements for lower energy use in facilities and buildings. It shall not exceed 80 kWh/m 2/ year. This report has been made in cooperation with Karlstad Municipality technology and property management with the purpose to identify the problems that arise in the design process. The aim is also to propose measures to improve this process and to find out whether an energy coordinator could be part of the solution. The basis for this report is a number of interviews with project managers on the technology and property management, and with designers that they cooperate with. Project managers at Landstingsfastigheter were interviewed in order to make a comparison how these two organizations work. During the interview process several reasons were identified why the work didn’t work satisfactionally in the construction process. Processed interviews, literature studies and seminars on the subject resulted in a number of proposed measures aimed at providing an improved planning process. The major problem recurrent in the report is the lack of a structured work process. The work methods of the design process must be changed so that the various actors interact, at an early stage, with each other in an integrated process. There is a request for a method in which the building along with energy and business needs is simultaneously developed. Procedures to follow up and evaluate work and the objective needs to be improved. Changing business requirements and abandoning the project model to advance the project has consequences. Lack of skills and a better control of the follow-up work of energy requirements are additional requirements identified high-profile issues in the design. Overall, energy issues are given a small weight in design. An improved design process is provided by a combination of actions. An integrated form of cooperation which puts the project in focus and is becoming a common task is proposed which characterises the seat. The energy pilot is the systemic tutoring for energy needed and requested. Energiverifikat 09 show management's objectives and will. Verifikatet also offers a systematic process of arrangements and procedures for ensuring that the different systems work together and that when strategically important stages takes place energy analyses. The document also provides the documentation of energy issues in various stages of the project requested. Depending on the level of ambition chosen for the building's energy and indoor climate issues action proposals should be adapted according to Technology and real estate management opportunities. Operational and energy issues should be a separate issue on the agenda that the energy coordinator and the business representative are responsible for. Operational issues and the requirements for lower energy use different conditions should be reconciled at an early stage.

Sexual attitudes and behavior in youth can be of great importance for sexual health development. Youth centers are important settings for preventing sexual transmitted infections and unwanted pregnancies and for promoting sexual health among youths in full. This study was performed in consultation with Landstinget Jönköping. The aim of the study was to examine the work of youth centers in Jönköpings County and find suggestions for quality guarantees for these centers. The survey was based on Socialstyrelsens indicators and Swedish Society for Youth Centers (FSUM) recommendations for youth centers work. The result showed a variation considering personnel resources and accessibility. The work areas are relevant but there is a lack of methods for preventive work and basic data for evaluation. To get further knowledge about separate youth centers needs, and needs in respective areas, a qualitative study is to prefer. The conclusions were that basic quality aspects should be applied for all youth centers. Demands concerning opening hours and personnel recourses should however be adjusted for local needs and conditions. The youth centers are in need of resources to offer the youth an equivalent support for their sexual health.

Full textThis Degree Project has been carried out during the spring semester of 2016 for the Degree of Science in Innovation and Design Engineering at the faculty of health, science and technology at Karlstad University. Most of the work has been done at Emerson Process Management AB in Karlstad. The purpose of the project was to improve the company’s internal project handovers. In order to make the project handovers between the project department and the service department more uniform and to be able to assure the quality of them, a manual has been developed. The manual includes information about the handover procedure, the different tasks that has to be performed during the project handover and also who is responsible for these tasks. The manual also includes information about the participants that are required to attend the handover meetings, agenda topics and information about what type of handover documents that should be handed over to the service organization during the handover meeting. A template for a folder structure has also been made, that is supposed to be used by project managers to store the documents that the service department will need after the handover. This templates, including the documents involving the projects, is then to be copied and stored on a server that the service department can access. On this server, the staff working in the service department can sort the different templates in a way that they desire to make it easier for them to find the documents they need. The fact that all project managers uses the same folder structure, staff at the service department will easily find the information they need, leading to large cuts in time and resources for the whole company. It also helps to ensure that no documents are forgotten or lost in the handover process. The feasibility study of the project has involved a lot of gathering of information and interviews with staff from different departments of the company. The feasibility study was then compiled in a requirement specification and a Service Blueprint. Based on this material, a number of solutions could then be carried out. Through various elimination methods, weightings and evaluation of the developed solutions, a final concept could then be chosen. The selected concept was tested and a final adjustment was made to get as good a result as possible. A dialogue was conducted with staff at Emerson Process Management AB throughout the project in order to get a result that was adapted to the company's operations. A proposal was also submitted to Emerson Process Management AB on how the implementation of these new procedures and tools would be realized. This was made so that all concerned parties in the best way possible could accept the change and implement it in a positive and easy-to-use manner.
