Abstract:
AbstractMuʿtazilite exegetical tradition has been defined primarily by reference to the theological dimensions of the tafsīr works authored by the Muʿtazila. This article is an attempt to go beyond this focus by exploring the significance of an exegete's affiliation to the tradition that is implicit in his selection of interpretations and his references to authorities. Focusing on the tafsīr of the tenth-century Muʿtazilite scholar ʿAlī ibn ʿĪsā al-Rummānī, the article analyses al-Rummānī's references to his three Muʿtazilite predecessors: Abū ʿAlī al-Jubbāʾī, Abū l-Qāsim al-Balkhī and Ibn al-Ikhshīd. The content of these references indicates that, for al-Rummānī, the authority of these Muʿtazilite scholars extended beyond their views on the theological implications of the Quranic verses. The context suggests that the scholars were part of a distinct exegetical tradition that allowed for certain differences of opinion.

Abstract:
Iliopsoas hematoma is an uncommon clinical entity that may develop in association with anticoagulation states, coagulopathies and hemodialysis, or anticoagulant therapy. Here, we report a case of unilateral iliopsoas hematoma in a 60-year-old man who received low-molecular-weight heparin for anticoagulation due to continuous veno-venous hemofiltration. The patient presented with fever and productive cough for 2 days. He received continuous veno-venous hemofiltration due to rising blood urea nitrogen (22.7 mmol/L; normal references: 3.2–7.1 mmol) and creatinine (1345 µmol/L; normal references: 53–106 µmol/L). Low-molecular-weight heparin (enoxaparin, 3500–5500 Da, 5–10 IU/kg/h) was delivered continuously by pumps for anticoagulation therapy. At day 12 post heparin treatment, the patient complained left back pain. Platelet count (243 × 109/L) was normal, but both activated partial thromboplastin time (67.5 s) and prothrombin time (17.3 s) were prolonged. Abdominal computed tomography scan revealed left iliopsoas swelling with an indistinct border. Low-molecular-weight heparin was discontinued. Anti-Xa was not monitored throughout the treatment. No improvement was seen, and 3 days later, the patient died after his family decided to terminate therapy. This case highlights the needs for careful anticoagulation as well as close monitoring, and particularly the use of anti-Xa to guide the treatment.

The survey contains a tabular specifi cation of song incipits with references to literature and comments concerning performers. The presentation is based on the results of research conducted in the nineteen-eighties by Mirosław Grusiewicz (they are contained in his MA thesis written under the supervision of Zenon Koter, PhD ), and on the phonographic materials he collected, now stored at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University Institute of Music. In terms of its origin, the repertoire of the Łęczna-Włodawa Lake District consists of three groups. The fi rst group is the archaic collection of ritual wedding songs and couplets, the second comprises traditional common folk songs (inter alia class songs, and courtship and military songs) prone to variability and accommodation, and the third is made up of the youngest repertoire in terms of origin, containing occasional songs or those heard on the mass media.</p><p> </p>

Abstract In 1991, 246 and 136 Ontario laboratories performed total creatine kinase (CK; EC 2.7.3.2) and creatine kinase-2 (CK-2) assays, respectively. A questionnaire mailed to these laboratories requested information about the types of assay used, the origin of their reference ranges, and the source of their instruments and reagents. All laboratories used current test formulations for CK, although seven laboratories did not assay at 37 degrees C. For CK, 69% of all laboratories reported different upper reference limits for men and women (5th-95th percentiles: 160-250 and 115-215 U/L, respectively); 31% reported similar ranges for both sexes. Fifty-six percent derived their own ranges; the remainder used either kit inserts or literature references, and nearly 60% of this latter group claimed to have validated these suggested ranges before use. For 6% of all laboratories, their pediatric ranges were similar to their adult ranges. For CK-2, only 32% used their own reference range; the remainder used kit inserts or literature references, but only 49% of this group validated these ranges before use. Reference limits (5th-95th percentiles) for CK-2 were as follows: activity 6-24 U/L; fraction of CK, 0.022-0.06; and, for mass assays, 5-10 micrograms/L and relative index 0.015-0.04.

Abstract:
The Leptodactylus melanonotus group consists of 15 species, but references to skeletal characters are available for only three species: L. leptodactyloides, L. melanonotus, and L. diedrus. Leptodactylus nesiotus is a member of the melanonotus group known only from the type locality, Bonasse swamp, on the Southwestern peninsula of Trinidad, Trinidad and Tobago. This species has been categorized as vulnerable given its restricted distribution. Herein, we report the adult osteology of L. nesiotus, the skeletal characters are compared with the available data from other Leptodactylus species. A phylogenetic analysis recovers a paraphyletic L. melanonotus group relative to the L. latrans group. A monophyletic “latrans-melanonotus” clade is supported by five synapomorphies. L. nesiotus is recovered as the sister species of L. validus, a relationship supported by two synapomorphies: T-shaped terminal phalanges and a dark-colored stripe on the outer surface of arm. In addition, we report on the ecology of this poorly known species.

The meta-analysis was performed to access efficacy of L-carnitine/L-acetyl-carnitine (LC/LAC) and N-acetyl-cysteine (NAC) in men with idiopathic asthenozoospermia. We researched PubMed, EMBASE, and Cochrane Library databases and references to related articles. Finally, seven articles including 621 patients were analyzed. The results indicated that LC/LAC and NAC had a considerable improvement in sperm motility ( p = .03 and p < .0001, respectively) and normal morphology ( p = .006, p = .0002, respectively) compared with the placebo group. Besides, NAC had a significantly greater increase in sperm concentration ( p < .00001) and ejaculate volume ( p = .002) compared with the placebo group, and there was no significant difference in LC/LAC. For the analysis of serum hormones, NAC had no obvious differences in improving the serum testosterone, luteinizing hormone, follicle-stimulating hormone, and prolactin compared with non-treatment group. Conclusively, LC/LAC and NAC showed a greater improvement in sperm motility and normal morphology. Moreover, NAC has a positive effect on sperm concentration and ejaculate volume, whereas no obvious effect was observed in serum hormones.

Abstract:
A low-mass and low-volume dual-polarization L-band radiometer is introduced that has applications for ground-based remote sensing or unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-based mapping. With prominent use aboard the ESA Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity (SMOS) and NASA Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) satellites, L-band radiometry can be used to retrieve environmental parameters, including soil moisture, sea surface salinity, snow liquid water content, snow density, vegetation optical depth, etc. The design and testing of the air-gapped patch array antenna is introduced and is shown to provide a 3-dB full power beamwidth of 37°. We present the radio-frequency (RF) front end design, which uses direct detection architecture and a square-law power detector. Calibration is performed using two internal references, including a matched resistive source (RS) at ambient temperature and an active cold source (ACS). The radio-frequency (RF) front end does not require temperature stabilization, due to characterization of the ACS noise temperature by sky measurements. The ACS characterization procedure is presented. The noise equivalent delta (Δ) temperature (NEΔT) of the radiometer is ~0.14 K at 1 s integration time. The total antenna temperature uncertainty ranges from 0.6 to 1.5 K.

A friendly engineer recently sent me a version of Figure 1 below, and asked me to explain the connection between it and the well-known Fibonacci Problem (FP) about calculating a population of rabbits. He knew that Figure 1 was related to the ‘Divine Proportion’ or ‘Golden Ratio’ ϕ ( = ½(√5 - l), which also occurs in the solution to FP, and wondered how such different problems could be related by such a number. (He unfortunately regarded ϕ as 0.618 exactly, thus missing a lot of stuff to arouse curiosity.) I knew of various references that I could recommend, but none covered all the things my engineer mentioned, so I constructed the following mathematical development, leaving the relations with biology and architecture to be explained in the books referenced later, see for example [1]. A matrix approach is used here, and may be new to those readers of the Gazette who may be quite familiar with the other material.

Abstract:
Ten new quinoline-carboxamides have been synthesized using the coupling reaction between 2-oxo-1,2-dihydroquinoline-4-carboxylic acid as a substrate and five different amino ester at room temperature with basic media (triethylamine). The products were obtained with a good yield ranging from 60 to 80 % and were structurally characterized by 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. The antibacterial activities of the synthesized compounds have been evaluated against 9 strains of bacteria and compared to references (erythromycin, ofloxacin, ticarcillin, oxacillin, ampicillin, norfloxacin, ceftazidim, cefotaxim). The results showed that the majority of carboxamides-quinoline ester groups present a larger inhibition diameters than those of the antibiotics references. The highest antibacterial activity in vitro against the Enterococcus feacalis has been revealed for compound 1a (methyl 2-oxo-1.2-dihydroquinoline-4-yl-L-alaninate).

AbstractBioactivity-guided phytochemical investigation of Cucumis bisexualis has led to the isolation of three new coumarin-aurone heterodimers (1-3), along with six aurone derivatives (4-9) were isolated from C. bisexualis for the first time. Their structures were determined by their extensive spectroscopic data and comparison with the values reported in the references. All isolated compounds (1-9) were evaluated for their hepatoprotective activities on human L-O2 cells, which compared with positive control of Bifendatatum. Among them, compounds 1, 2, and 7 exhibited moderate hepatoprotective activities to promote effects on the proliferation of L-O2 cells.

Abstract:
Chamomile ( Matricaria chamomilla L.), tarragon ( Artemisia dracunculus L.) and Mexican arnica ( Heterotheca inuoides) are common compositae spices and herbs found in the US market. They contain flavonoids and hydroxycinnamates that are potentially beneficial to human health. A standardized LC-PDA-ESI/MS profiling method was used to identify 51 flavonoids and 17 hydroxycinnamates. Many of the identifications were confirmed with authentic standards or through references in the literature or the laboratory's database. More than half of the phenol compounds for each spice had not been previously reported. The phenolic profile can be used for plant authentication and to correlate with biological activities.

Abstract:
Purpose The purpose of this study is the application of a recently developed quantitative method named Referenced Publication Year Spectroscopy (RPYS) in the spectrum of Collection Development. RPYS portrays peak years to be recognized in citations in a research field that guarantees to assist in the identification of significant contributions and groundbreaking revelations in a research field. Design/methodology/approach Preliminary data of the study has been extracted from Web of Science (WoS) by using two phrases “collection development” and “collection building” to search in terms of the topic (comprising four parts: title, abstract, author keywords and KeyWords Plus). The search was restricted to the time period 1974-2017, which formulated a data set of 1,682 documents covering 29,017 cited references. The program CRExplorer (www.crexplorer.net) was used for the extraction of cited references from the data sets downloaded from WoS. Further analysis was performed manually using MS-Excel 2016. Findings The present study identified seminal works, which contributed to a high extent to the evolution and development of collection development. The analysis of all cited references using the RPYS method showed nine peaks, which present historical roots of collection development and revealed that the basic idea of this very subfield of library science dates centuries back. Moreover, the results of the investigation on most effective documents (in the form of peaks) revealed that the field of collection development significantly influenced by the works of authors such as Gabriel Naudé, Gabriel Peignot, Giulio Petzholdt, P L Gross, E M Gross, Richard Trueswell, Allen Kent, Ross Atkinson, etc. Practical implications The analysis of works cited in publications helps to ascertain important intellectual contributions related to a particular domain of knowledge. It not only helps in extracting the most important works but also it helps to reconstruct the history of a specific research field by examining the specific role of the cited references. Therefore, the results of the study could be useful for researchers, practitioners, scholars and more specifically bibliophiles, bibliographers and librarians to gain a better understanding of seminal works in the spectrum of collection development. Originality/value To the best of authors’ knowledge, the present research work is unique and novel in the spectrum of collection development, which explored and examined the pivotal works in the field by using the RPYS method.

The allelopathic substances are organic agents which are produced and released by a plant that cause alteration on the neighboring plants. The characteristics of allelochemicals usually inhibit germination of other species and sometime will reduce growth of the other species which associate with the producer of allelochemicals. The mechanism of allelochemicals can be used to suppress a germination of Echinochloa colonum L. and Amaranthus viridis L. These plants are weeds species of rice. The aims of this research were to study the allelochemicals effect from the leaf of pines (Pinus merkusii Jungh. et de Vriese) on germination of Echinochloa colonum L. and Amaranthus viridis L.. The experimental design used Completely Randomized Design with five replicates for each concentration (0, 250, 500, 750, 1000 ppm). The result which was analyzed with One-Way Analyze of Varians (ANOVA) indicated that giving a pine leaf extracts had an inhibitor effect on germination of E. colonum L. and A. viridis L. Abstract Linguatula serrata is a pentastomid which is worldwide in distribution. However, a very few references are reported from India. In the present study, the cox I gene of L. serrata nymphs, originally isolated from mesenteric lymph nodes of buffaloes, was amplified and custom sequenced. Based on sequence analysis, two haplotypes were noticed and were subsequently submitted in NCBI database. The sequences were also compared with the other sequences available in the pubmed and phylogenetic analysis coupled with nucleotide homologies were commutated. The studied Indian isolates were found closer to Bangladesh and Iran isolates. This is the first report of molecular characterization of L. serrata from India.

AGRI 1203 “Introduction to Plant Sciences” is a college core requirement for students in the College of Agricultural, Food, and Life Sciences. One of the objectives is accomplished in part by writing a scientific research-review paper (term paper) on a subject of the student's interest. After several semesters of assigning the term paper, it was apparent that students had extensive variation in experience and skills in writing and documenting references. A SOLO was created so that students could develop and practice techniques in reading, understanding, summarizing, and documenting references in a research paper. The SOLO is a self-instructional exercise consisting of three parts: l) a statement of learning objectives, 2) activities on how to achieve the objectives; and 3) exercises to measure mastery level of the exercise's objectives. The SOLO and student and instructor evaluations of the SOLO will be presented and discussed in the poster.

Cnidium monnieri (L.) Cusson (CMC) is a traditional Chinese herbal medicine that has been widely grown and used in Asia. It is also known as “She chuang zi” in China (Chinese: 蛇床子), “Jashoshi” in Japan, “Sasangia” in Korea, and “Xa sang tu” in Vietnam. This study aimed to provide an up-to-date review of its phytochemistry, ethnopharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and toxicology. All available information on CMC was collected from the Encyclopedia of Traditional Chinese Medicines, PubMed, EMBASE, ScienceDirect, Scopus, Web of Science, and China Network Knowledge Infrastructure. The updated chemical structures of the compounds are those ones without chemical ID numbers or references from the previous review. A total of 429 chemical constituents have been elucidated and 56 chemical structures have been firstly identified in CMC with traceable evidence. They can be categorized as coumarins, volatile constituents, liposoluble compounds, chromones, monoterpenoid glucosides, terpenoids, glycosides, glucides, and other compounds. CMC has demonstrated impressive potential for the management of various diseases in extensive preclinical research. Since most of the studies are overly concentrated on osthole, more research is needed to investigate other chemical constituents.

Abstract:
Nω-Hydroxy-L-arginine (NOHA) is a stable intermediate in NO formation from L-arginine catalyzed by NO synthase (NOS). Apparently, NOHA can be released and serve as a stable reserve NO donor (as a substrate of NOS) or transported and exert its own biological effects. It shows endothelium-dependent as well as endothelium-independent vasorelaxant activity. The latter case indicates that NOHA can be metabolized by pathways independent of NOS. These possibilities are discussed in detail. Of the available NOHA homologues homo-NOHA is a good substrate of NOS while nor-NOHA seems to be a very poor substrate of this enzyme. On the contrary, nor-NOHA exerts arginase inhibitory activity 20 times higher than NOHA whereas homo-NOHA is inactive. Detailed investigation of biological activities of NOHA and its homologues seems to be promising from the pharmacological point of view. A review with 43 references.

Abstract:
AbstractWe present an approach to enriching the type system of ML with a restricted form of dependent types, where type index terms are required to be drawn from a given type index language${\cal L}$that is completely separate from run-time programs, leading to the DML(${\cal L}$) language schema. This enrichment allows for specification and inference of significantly more precise type information, facilitating program error detection and compiler optimization. The primary contribution of the paper lies in our language design, which can effectively support the use of dependent types in practical programming. In particular, this design makes it both natural and straightforward to accommodate dependent types in the presence of effects such as references and exceptions.

Carl Linnaeus named 22 species of scale insects in the genus Coccus, another in the genus Aphis, and one other probably unintentionally. All are redescribed and discussed. It is established that Coccus betulae L. is a nomen nudum and that the name was validly described later by Fabricius. A brief history of Linnaeus’ collection is summarised and his scale insect collection described. Linnaeus’ descriptions of scale insects are here translated into English and all the references to scale insect literature cited by Linnaeus are listed in bibliographical form and annotated. Lectotypes are designated for the species names Coccus aonidum Linnaeus, Aphis urticae Linnaeus and Coccus uvaeursi Linnaeus. One species, Coccus phalaridis, is here considered incertae sedis. Coccus pilosellae is recognised as a syn.nov. of Porphyrophora polonica (L.). Coccus rusci is recognised as Ceroplastes rusci (L.), not Columnea rusci.

To use ethnographic analogies is not the same as picking up ready-made interpretations from one cultural context and importing them into another. On the contrary, analogies are a powerful and necessary tool for any archaeological interpretation. If we as scientists are not aware of this we will most certainly use our own time and culture as an unconscious analogy: it is not possible to make interpretations, or even to think, without references outside oneself, and such references are nothing but analogies. l will put forward the hypothesis that the Late Bronze Age society of Scandinavia had rituals resembling, and probably related to, the Vedic tradition. As in Vedic tradition, fire sacrifice seems to have been an important ritual practice in Scandinavia. The Vedic fire altars are built as a symbolic microcosmos, repeating the creation of the world, and the fire (Agni) is seen as a link between earth and the heavenly fire —the sun.

Abstract Context Application of ultrasound (US) to evaluate attainment and morphology of glandular tissue provides a new rationale for evaluating onset and progression of female puberty, but currently no hormone references complement this method. Furthermore, previous studies have not explored the predictive value of endocrine profiling to determine female puberty onset. Objective To integrate US breast staging with hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal hormone references and test the predictive value of an endocrine profile to determine thelarche. Design Setting and Participants Cross-sectional sample of 601 healthy Norwegian girls, ages 6 to 16 years. Main Outcome Measures Clinical and ultrasound breast evaluations were performed for all included girls. Blood samples were analyzed by immunoassay and ultrasensitive liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) to quantify estradiol (E2) and estrone (E1) from the subpicomolar range. Results References for E2, E1, luteinizing hormone, follicle-stimulating hormone, and sex hormone–binding globulin were constructed in relation to chronological age, Tanner stages, and US breast stages. An endocrine profile index score derived from principal component analysis of these analytes was a better marker of puberty onset than age or any individual hormone, with receiver-operating characteristic area under the curve 0.91 (P &lt; 0.001). Ultrasound detection of nonpalpable glandular tissue in 14 out of 264 (5.3%) girls with clinically prepubertal presentation was associated with significantly higher median serum levels of E2 (12.5 vs 4.9 pmol/L; P &lt; 0.05) and a distinct endocrine profile (arbitrary units; P &lt; 0.001). Conclusions We provide the first hormone references for use with US breast staging and demonstrate the application of endocrine profiling to improve detection of female puberty onset.

Sandalwood (White Sandal) is the fragrant heartwood of some species of genus Santalum. The widely distributed and economically important Santalum genus belongs to the family Santalaceae which includes 30 genera with about 400 species, many of which being completely or partially parasitic (John, 1947). The word Sandal has been derived from Chandana (Sanskrit), Chandan (Persian), Savtador (Greek) and Santal (French). There are references of Sandalwood in Indian mythology, folklore and ancient scripts. ‘Chandana’ the Sanskrit name ascribed to Santalum album L. was known and used in India from the earliest historic times and is frequently mentioned in the ancient Sanskrit writings, some of which dated before Christian era. Kautilya’s Arthashastra (320 B.C.) considered Sandal as one of the important forest products to increase royal revenue.

Abstract:
With the introduction of nutrient management legislation in Ontario, there is a need to improve the efficiency of nitrogen (N) utilization. One possibility is to use critical nutrient concentrations in plant tissue as an indicator of the N nutritional status of the crop. Plant tissue analysis was used to determine the total N and nitrate-N (NO3-N) concentrations of cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. capitata L.), carrots (Daucus carota L.), and onions (Allium cepa L.) grown in Ontario. The tissue samples were collected from plants as part of N fertilization studies from 1999 to 2001 on the organic soils in the Holland/Bradford Marsh area and the mineral soils near Simcoe, Ontario. Yield was assessed at harvest as an indicator of the N requirement of the crop. Testing the usefulness of critical NO3-N concentrations to indicate the N requirement of the crop was problematic because: 1) few published references were available to indicate a critical level of NO3-N in these crops; 2) tissue NO3-N concentrations were highly variable; and 3) field data rarely matched published references. Tissue total N concentrations from the trials corresponded to published critical N concentrations in some cases, however, the use of published critical N concentrations would have resulted in either over or under-application of fertilizer to the crops. Cultivar, soil type, and climate were shown to affect tissue N concentrations. Based on these results it was concluded that local research and field verification is required before tissue N critical nutrient concentrations become useful for determining fertilizer needs of cabbage, carrots, and onions grown in Ontario.

Abstract:
A wavelength-tunable high repetition rate (HRR) erbium-doped fiber laser in L-band based on dissipative four-wave mixing (DFWM) mechanism is demonstrated. The cavity can generate a single-soliton train and bound-soliton train with a fixed repetition rate of ~126 GHz, which is determined by the free spectral range of the intra-cavity Lyot filter. A wide wavelength-tuning operation can also be obtained by rotating the polarization controllers. The wavelength-tuning ranges of the HRR single-soliton state and HRR bound-soliton state are ~38.3 nm and ~22.6 nm, respectively. This laser provides useful references for the area of a wavelength-tunable fiber laser with high repetition rate. The laser may also find useful applications in high-speed communication, sensing, etc.

Abstract:
Vibroplatform test is an important means of testing the dynamic characteristics of the laboratory sim-ulating structure under seismic action. For structure whose volume and weight exceed the limits of vibroplatfor-m tests is usually carried out through model test according to the similarity theory. So how to deal with the simil-ar relationships among the test model and how to verify thethe rationality of vibration control strategy through testing results become the key and fundamentalproblems. 1:15 scaled models will be made through the dimensional analysis based on a 4 layersL-shaped frame structure as the proto-type , which are made from micro-concrete, aluminum alloyand plexiglass. SFMT sap2000 is used to make a dynamic analysis to get the values of period, acceleration, velocity, etc. Comparing the results of prototype inferred from model through similarrelationship with theoretica-l values of prototype to get the correct formula and confirm the bestscaled model and then provide references f-or model test later.

"Leishmania naiffi and Leishmania guyanensis reference genomes highlight genome structure and gene evolution in the Viannia subgenus." Royal Society Open Science 5, no. 4 (April 2018): 172212. http://dx.doi.org/10.1098/rsos.172212.

Abstract:
The unicellular protozoan parasite Leishmania causes the neglected tropical disease leishmaniasis, affecting 12 million people in 98 countries. In South America, where the Viannia subgenus predominates, so far only L. ( Viannia ) braziliensis and L. ( V. ) panamensis have been sequenced, assembled and annotated as reference genomes. Addressing this deficit in molecular information can inform species typing, epidemiological monitoring and clinical treatment. Here, L. ( V. ) naiffi and L. ( V. ) guyanensis genomic DNA was sequenced to assemble these two genomes as draft references from short sequence reads. The methods used were tested using short sequence reads for L. braziliensis M2904 against its published reference as a comparison. This assembly and annotation pipeline identified 70 additional genes not annotated on the original M2904 reference. Phylogenetic and evolutionary comparisons of L. guyanensis and L. naiffi with 10 other Viannia genomes revealed four traits common to all Viannia : aneuploidy, 22 orthologous groups of genes absent in other Leishmania subgenera, elevated TATE transposon copies and a high NADH-dependent fumarate reductase gene copy number. Within the Viannia , there were limited structural changes in genome architecture specific to individual species: a 45 Kb amplification on chromosome 34 was present in all bar L. lainsoni , L. naiffi had a higher copy number of the virulence factor leishmanolysin, and laboratory isolate L. shawi M8408 had a possible minichromosome derived from the 3’ end of chromosome 34 . This combination of genome assembly, phylogenetics and comparative analysis across an extended panel of diverse Viannia has uncovered new insights into the origin and evolution of this subgenus and can help improve diagnostics for leishmaniasis surveillance.

Abstract:
Based on the references and based on the collected plant material in the field, it can be concluded that Carpesium abrotanoides L. is a new species in the flora of Serbia The marshroute study of the hunting ground "Crni lug" shows that the plant occurs individually throughout the territory and that it builds the facies along the border of the forest in gentle depressions. This plant is most frequent in the drained depressions ? -In the mono-dominant forest stands of narrow-leaved ash (Fraxinus angustifolia Vahl) of dense canopy (0.7). C. abrotanoides L. is among the most numerous species in the ground layer, but it does not exceed 10% of coverage either in natural stands or in artificially established stands ? -In the open and semi-open depressions of the former pool "Siva?a-Blatina", the plant has a dense population. Based on the number of individuals and their vigour, it can be concluded that this locality is the optimal site of the species C. abrotanoides L. in the hunting ground. The species C. abrotanoides L. is avoided by the game .

Abstract:
Gonyleptes robustus Holmberg, 1876 (Opiliones, Gonyleptidae), hitherto under the synonymy of Acanthopachylus aculeatus (Kirby, 1819) is revalidated. It is recognized as the second species of genus Acanthopachylus Roewer, 1913, currently monotypic, giving the new combination Acanthopachylus robustus (Holmberg, 1876) comb. nov. The huge synonymy formerly assigned to A. aculeatus is split among the newly identified entities. Diagnostic differences (male exomorphology) that underlie the taxonomic and nomenclatural decision are succinctly displayed. Brief historical references to the arachnological work of Eduardo L. Holmberg are also given.
