Je cherche à exposer que, s’il y a bien une relative invisibilité du travail philosophique d’Émilie du Châtelet dans l’historiographie des Lumières, cela tient à la fois au statut de femme savante à cette époque (Émilie Du Châtelet ne peut être réduite ni à une traductrice des textes de Newton, ni à une vulgarisatrice des thèses de Leibniz), mais aussi à la situation philosophique d’Émilie du Châtelet, qui ne peut se réduire à aucune filiation (cartésienne, leibnizienne ou newtonienne) et qui élabore une philosophie naturelle originale.

En France et au Québec, l’analyse du traitement des revendications religieuses par les juridictions nationales révèle trois modèles d’élaboration du droit des croyants par le juge étatique. Le premier modèle, celui de Jupiter, fait de la loi étatique la source transcendante et unique du droit des croyants. Pour Jupiter, c’est la loi qui hiérarchise les appartenances religieuses au sein de la société, qui identifie les croyants et qui s’applique à leur situation, à l’exclusion des droits religieux. Le deuxième modèle, celui d’Hercule, contribue à faire de la jurisprudence une source immanente et incontournable du droit des croyants. Grâce aux libertés et aux droits fondamentaux qu’il doit interpréter, Hercule joue un rôle déterminant dans l’élaboration du droit des croyants en protégeant l’autonomie privée des individus et des communautés de croyants contre la rigueur et la trop grande généralité de la loi. Le troisième et dernier modèle, celui de Minerve, n’opte pour aucune position dogmatique à l’égard de la loi, à la différence de Jupiter et d’Hercule. Pour Minerve, le droit des croyants est le fruit d’une dialectique entre l’activité normative de l’État (la loi et la jurisprudence) et l’autonomie privée des personnes (les individus et les communautés de croyants), forces créatrices qui trouvent à s’harmoniser dans ses décisions au terme du procès.

Pile oscillator techniques are powerful methods to measure small reactivity worth of isotopes of interest for nuclear data improvement. This kind of experiments has long been implemented in the Mineve experimental reactor, operated by CEA Cadarache. A hybrid technique, mixing reactivity worth estimation and measurement of small changes around test samples is presented here. It was made possible after the development of high sensitivity miniature fission chambers introduced next to the irradiation channel. A test campaign, called MAESTRO-SL, took place in 2015. Its objective was to assess the feasibility of the hybrid method and investigate the possibility to separate mixed neutron effects, such as fission/capture or scattering/capture. Experimental results are presented and discussed in this paper, which focus on comparing two measurements setups, one using a power control system (closed loop) and another one where the power is free to drift (open loop). First, it is demonstrated that open loop is equivalent to closed loop. Uncertainty management and methods reproducibility are discussed. Second, results show that measuring the flux depression around oscillated samples provides valuable information regarding partial neutron cross sections. The technique is found to be very sensitive to the capture cross section at the expense of scattering, making it very useful to measure small capture effects of highly scattering samples.

Abstract:
A characterisation of cylindrical samples by Neutron Resonance Transmission Analysis (NRTA) at the GELINA facility of JRC Geel (Belgium) is presented. The samples were designed and produced for reactivity worth measurements in the MINERVE reactor of CEA Cadarache (France). NRTA was applied to determine the nuclide composition of UO2, Al2O3 and liquid samples that were doped with silver. The volume number densities of 238U, 107Ag and 109Ag obtained by NRTA are within 2 % fully consistent with the values that are quoted by the manufacturer. In addition, the NRTA data reveal a tungsten contamination which is not reported by the provider. It is shown that such a contamination contributes by up to 5.7 % to the reactivity worth.

Since many years, the Instrumentation, Sensors and Dosimetry laboratory at CEA Cadarache has been working to propose innovative and robust design of fission chambers. In this framework, few simulation tools like Chester or PyFc were developed to make detector prototyping and optimisation possible. Up to now, the code experimental validations are scarce mainly because of the lack of flexibility of regular fission chambers. In order to set up an experimental database for code validation, an innovative modular twin fission chamber, the CFTM, was designed. It allows to set with precision the inter-electrode gap, the filling gas pressure as well as the fissile deposit used. This detector was irradiated in Minerve zero power reactor in order to gather results for code validation. Thanks to a calibration procedure, a bank of experimental results is available for simulation validation.

Logistics routes of the RVAstrolabeprovide access to scarcely studied areas, thus allowing us to understand the different processes acting in this area of the Antarctic Ocean. The surface area covered by these cruises, however, is tiny compared with the total surface area of the Antarctic Ocean. Correlations betweenin situsurface temperature and salinity data were applied to satellite images of sea surface temperature to map ocean surface salinity over a much wider area than under the cruise tracks. Comparisons with salinity data from satellites which provide ~100 km resolution and 0.1 accuracy indicate that we are able to map salinity at 4 km resolution and almost the same accuracy of ± 0.1.

The main topic of this comparison is to estimate the Lagrangian code capability to predict the radionuclide atmospheric transfer on a large field, in the case of risk assessment of nuclear power plant for example. For the four experiments, the results of calculations show a rather good agreement between the two codes, and the order of magnitude of the concentrations measured on the soil is predicted. Simulation is best for sampling points located ten kilometers from the source, while we note a divergence for more distant points results (difference in concentrations by a factor 2 to 5). This divergence may be explained by the fact that, for these four experiments, only one weather station (near the point source) was used on a field of 10 000 km2, generating the simulation of a uniform wind field throughout the calculation domain.
