Laboratory rats were the first mammals domesticated for research and remain a well-studied model in biomedical science. Rats have been indispensable as model organisms in research, offering valuable insights into physiological processes and also disease mechanisms due to their well-documented biology and adaptability. This review focuses on the physiological parameters linked to the cardiovascular system, respiratory system and digestive system across variants of laboratory rats. In this research, several transient laboratory experiments were conducted using both repacked and intact soil cores, and larger scale 1 and 3-dimensional repacked soil columns. Measurements of

Hyponatraemia is the most common electrolyte disorder in hospitalized patients and is primarily a water balance disorder. Therefore, hyponatraemia is due to a relative excess of water in comparison with sodium in the extracellular fluid volume. Hyponatraemia is usually due to the release of vasopressin despite hypo-osmolality; this secretion is either ‘appropriate’ (i.e. due to a low intravascular volume) or ‘inappropriate’. The diagnostic approach to hyponatraemia relies on the assessment of the time of development, symptoms, and volume status, along with laboratory parameters such as urine s

Abstract:
Existing test data from the Engines and Energy Conversion Laboratory and other sources are analyzed to examine the impact of retrofit technologies and operating parameters on greenhouse gas emissions. CO2, CH4, and CO2e (equivalent CO2) emissions are the focus of the study. The data analysis is focused on 4 main categories, engine performance maps, retrofit technology, uncontrolled parameters, and NOx permit level. Examination of the impact of HP replacement is also performed.

Abstract:
The critical shear stress and erodibility of soil are fundamental parameters for modeling embankment breaching. Unfortunately, very few studies have examined the erosion characteristics of soils consisting predominantly of particles larger than sand. This report presents results of an experimental study in which the erosion characteristics of gravelly soils were measured. A flume apparatus was developed in which 0.45-m-square samples were extruded into confined flow. A mechanical laser system allowed the measurement of scour in real time, resulting in a continuous and automated erosion test. T
