Abstract:
In this thesis I study the construction of a merger and acquisition (M & A) process through emotional antenarratives. This builds on recent research in the M & A field, which has called for a more thorough understanding of emotions during M & A processes. After reviewing current literature on emotions as well as emotions in M & A processes I point to a gap in understanding how emotional experiences, as present in the organisation, shape the M & A process over time. I suggest that a narrative perspective is particularly well suited to study emotional experiences present in the organisation sinc

The complexities of issues existing in Kenya create a domino effect directly affecting not only the effective management and economic growth of Kenya, but also social and legislative constraints to the lower socioeconomic classes. Land dispossession, proof of ownership to property and nationality are ongoing troubling issues affecting increased orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) in Kenya, most noticeably within predominantly poverty stricken rural enclaves. Låttexterna som analyseras är ”The River” och ”Land of Hope and Dreams”. Analysen visar att ”The River” skild

Webster, Alan Charles. "Land expropriation and labour extraction under Cape colonial rule : the war of 1835 and the "emancipation" of the Fingo." Thesis, Rhodes University, 1991. http://hdl.handle.net/10962/d1002425.

Full text
Abstract:
The interpretations of the war of 1835 and the identity of the Fingo that were presented by the English settlers, have remained the mainstays of all subsequent histories. They asserted that the war of 1835 was the fault purely of 'Kaffir' aggression, that it was controlled by Hintza, the paramount chief, and that the ensuing hostilities were justifiable colonial defence and punishment of the Africans. The arrival of the Fingo in the Colony, it was claimed, was unconnected with the war. It was alleged that the seventeen thousand Fingo brought into the Colony in May 1835 were all Natal refugees

Abstract:
The history of the Albania Settlement of Griqualand West is examined from its beginnings in 1866 to its demise in 1878. Albania was very much a product of its time. Nineteenth century British colonial policy was basically expansionist, despite minor fluctuations caused by the various influences affecting it, such as the Free Trade and Mercantilist doctrines, social factors within Britain and events within the colonies themselves. From 1815 colonial settlements were fairly common in British territory, especially after Wakefield had provided a convincing theoretical framework for them. Within So

Abstract:
The Hope River watershed in Jamaica supports over one-thirds of the population of Jamaica. The Hope River and its tributaries supply water for a variety of purposes to the capital city of Kingston, via the Mona Reservoir. Since the 1980's, water supply to the Mona Reservoir has had to be supplemented by the Yallahs River in an adjacent watershed as the Hope River's ability to supply the needs of the city has been weakening. The Hope River watershed is extremely fragile in that years of misuse of steep slopes, rapid population growth and agricultural expansion (mainly coffee) have been co
