We assess the adequacy of saving in the United Kingdom from a macroeconomic perspective. We present conditions needed for wealth to grow in line with income and discuss the circumstances in which capital gains can represent a substitute for saving. We show that reference to balance sheets can be misleading because they fail to identify the cost of future consumption. A savings gap of between £16.5 bn and £66 bn is identified before taking account of the effects of demographic change. The outcome depends on whether one regards rising house prices as a consequence of fixed supplies of land or as

At present, since the environmental pollution caused by construction activities accounts for about one-third of all the pollution, to develop green building technology has important significance for sustainable development in China. In this paper, according to climatic characteristics in hot-summer and cold-winter areas in China, six aspects of the green technology, such as land saving, energy saving, water saving, material saving, improving the quality of the indoor environment and intelligent operation, are comprehensively employed in the design of office building.

Abstract Soil erosion is the process of erosion in the most fertile upper layers of soil and the atmospheric precipitation of underground rocks, as well as irrigation water, wind, and other effects. Natural soil erosion occurs relatively slowly, and the soil is restored in the process of natural formation. The article discusses the factors to be taken into account in the development of land management projects for eroded areas: the choice of soil composition and rotation systems and their placement, taking into account the level of erosion risk in the area; the design of irrigation plots; and

In all developed countries of the world there is a search for new technological methods of tillage, aimed at protecting it from erosion, preserving and increasing fertility, reducing costs. The main means that can prevent the loss of soil fertility is the introduction of energy-saving and fertility-saving technologies. The factors of soil trauma and the maximum coverage of the soil with plant residues are laid down. The most well-known technologies are technologies that are quite common in the United States and Canada, where more than 50% of the land is cultivated, as well as in Argentina, whe
