Sports commentary is an essential part of live broadcasted sports as well as eSports and is a task that requires that the caster be verbally proficient and can maintain a high tempo when speaking, especially in more fast-paced sports. This study aims to analyze this promotional language sportscasters use by approaching it from the linguistic phenomenon of metadiscourse. The purpose of this essay was to investigate whether speakers of different languages find different things difficult when learning Swedish. The results showed that the first language was not the only aspect that mattered when it comes to what difficulties the learners face. Also individual differences and the level the learner has reached in the language are important to consider. I denna uppsatsen studeras de svenska samtida hästnamnen som finns 2016 och syftet har varit att kategorisera namnen och jämföra utifrån ett könsperspektiv. Namnen hämtades från försäkringsbolaget Agria och utgjorde totalt 396 namn, således 198 namn per kön. Det visade sig att namnbeståndet skiljer sig åt mellan könen på hästarna vilket tyder på en könsskillnad. Det är vanligare att sto får personnamn medan valack/hingst har mer tendens att få ett fiktivt namn. The source text is the installation manual for the software SDL Trados Studio 2014 and the thesis also contains a text analysis of the source text.
