Abstract:
Parmi les métaux lourds, le cadmium (Cd) est l’un des polluants les plus communs avec un impact néfaste sur la reproduction et la physiologie dans le système biologique. Cette étude a été conçue pour évaluer les effets néfastes du Cd sur les paramètres séminal et histopathologique des testicules; et d’explorer les potentiels thérapeutiques de l’extrait méthanolique de Gmelina arborea (MEGA) en évitant de tels dommages reproductifs. Pour ce faire, un total de 45 lapins âgés de 24 à 28 semaines et pesant entre 1,41 et 1,43 kg ont été utilisés. Les mâles de lapin ont été assignés à 5 groupes de traitement (contrôle, Cd-seul, Cd + 300 mg MEGA, Cd + 600 mg MEGA et Cd + 900 mg MEGA) dans un design complètement randomisé. Les lapins ont reçu 3 mg de CdCl2 / kg de nourriture pendant 7 jours, suivis de MEGA pendant 56 jours après toutes les 72 heures avant le début du prélèvement de sperme. Abstract:
La restriction temporaire de l'ingestion du lapin après son sevrage est maintenant une stratégie d'alimentation couramment employée en cuniculture. L'objet de cette synthèse est de présenter les différents effets d'une limitation de l'ingestion sur la santé, la physiologie digestive et l'efficacité alimentaire du lapin en croissance. Même si une restriction alimentaire conduit à une croissance plus lente, ces stratégies sont désormais utilisées par plus de 85% des éleveurs français. En effet, elles permettent de réduire les risques de mortalité et de morbidité post-sevrage par troubles digestifs, par exemple par l'entéropathie épizootique du lapin. De plus, la conversion alimentaire est améliorée, plus particulièrement lorsque les lapins sont de nouveau alimentés librement, en raison d'une importante croissance compensatrice. Cette meilleure efficacité alimentaire est associée à un transit plus lent et à une meilleure digestion, bien qu'on observe des interactions avec la composition chimique de l'aliment. La physiologie digestive est par ailleurs peu modifiée, en particulier la morphométrie de la muqueuse intestinale, l’activité fermentaire et le microbiote caecal. La qualité de la viande est peu affectée par la restriction alimentaire, alors qu'on observe une baisse de l'état d'engraissement des carcasses et une légère dégradation du rendement à l'abattage. Les effets d'une limitation de l'ingestion sur le comportement et le bien-être animal sont discutés, sachant que le jeune lapin présente une adaptation très rapide aux stratégies de restriction. Ainsi, les stratégies de restriction peuvent améliorer la rentabilité de l'atelier cunicole, mais elles doivent être adaptées à chaque situation d'élevage.

Abstract:
High relative humidity and ambient temperature are one of the constrains to efficient thermoregulatory responses of rabbits in the tropics during the early-rainy season. The study investigated the effect of age on diurnal thermoregulatory responses in rectal (RT), ear (ET) and skin temperatures (ST) of rabbits during the early-rainy season. Seventeen apparently healthy rabbits were divided into three groups of 5 weaners, 6 growers and 6 adults. Physiologic parameters of RT, ET and ST of the rabbits were recorded concurrently with thermal environmental parameters of dry-bulb (DBT) and wet-bulb readings, at 07:00, 10:00, 13:00, 16:00 and 19:00 h, once per week for three weeks. Result revealed that RT, ET and ST were higher in adult compared to weaner or grower rabbits. The RT and ST were higher in adult than weaner rabbits at 13:00, 16:00 and 19:00 h. The ET was higher in adult than the weaner rabbits at 07:00 h. However, there was no significant (P > 0.05) difference in physiological parameters between the weaner and grower rabbits. The DBT positively correlated with ET in all age groups (Weaners r = 0.960, P < 0.01; Growers r = 0.975, P < 0.01; Adult r = 0.942, P < 0.05). The ST of weaner (r = 0.904; P < 0.05) and grower (r = 0.997; P < 0.01) rabbits positively correlated with DBT. It was concluded that there was age- dependent effect on diurnal thermoregulatory responses and RH negatively impacted on heat dissipation ability of the rabbits. It is recommended that adequate ventilation should be provided in rabbit house to reduce the negative impact of high RH on heat dissipation ability of rabbits during the early-rainy season. L'humidité relative élevée et la température ambiante sont l'une des contraintes aux réponses thermorégulatrices efficaces des lapins sous les tropiques pendant la saison des pluies. L'étude a étudié l'effet de l'âge sur les réponses thermorégulatrices diurnes dans les températures rectales (RT), de l'oreille (ET) et de la peau (ST) des lapins pendant la saison des pluies précoces. Dix-sept lapins apparemment en bonne santé ont été divisés en trois groupes de 5 sevrés, 6 cultivateurs et 6 adultes. Les paramètres physiologiques de RT, ET et ST des lapins ont été enregistrés en même temps que les paramètres environnementaux thermiques des lectures de bulbe sec (DBT) et d'ampoule humide, à 07:00, 10:00, 13:00, 16:00 et 19:00 h, une fois par semaine pendant trois semaines. Le résultat a révélé que rt, ET et ST étaient plus élevés chez les adultes par rapport aux lapins sevrés ou de producteur. Le RT et le ST étaient plus élevés chez les lapins adultes que chez les lapins sevrés à 13 h, 16 h et 19 h. L'ET était plus élevé chez les adultes que chez les lapins sevrés à 7 h. Cependant, il n'yavait aucune différence significative (P > 0.05) dans les paramètres physiologiques entre le sevreur et les lapins de producteur. Le DBT était en corrélation positive avec l'ET dans tous les groupes d'âge (Sevreurs r = 0.960, P < 0.01; Producteurs r = 0.975, P < 0.01; Adulte r = 0.942, P < 0.05). Le ST du sevreur (r = 0.904; P < 0.05) et producteur (r = 0.997; P < 0.01) lapins positivement corrélés avec DBT. On a conclu qu'il y avait un effet dépendant de l'âge sur les réponses thermorégulatrices diurnes et que l'HR avait un impact négatif sur la capacité de dissipation thermique des lapins. Il est recommandé d'assurer une ventilation adéquate dans la maison du lapin afin de réduire l'impact négatif d'une HR élevée sur la capacité de dissipation thermique des lapins pendant la saison des pluies

Herbivore et monogastrique, le lapin héberge dans les parties distales de son tube digestif un microbiote dense et actif qui joue un rôle clé dans sa physiologie digestive, tant du point de vue de sa santé que du point de vue de l’efficacité digestive. L’écosystème cæco-colique est le siège d’interactions complexes entre le biotope et la biocénose, et son fonctionnement demeure encore mal connu. Cette synthèse résume d’abord les données concernant le biotope caecal et ses caractéristiques physicochimiques, qui ont fait l’objet de nombreuses études. Nos connaissances sur la biocénose caecale, obtenues par les méthodes classiques de culture seront ensuite présentées, puis celles obtenues récemment à l’aide d’outils de microbiologie moléculaire. Enfin, cette revue décrit les effets des principaux nutriments et de quelques stratégies d’alimentation sur le fonctionnement de cet écosystème, et les interactions avec la santé digestive du lapereau.

Les lapereaux naissent nus, incapables d’assurer seul une thermorégulation autonome suffisante, et ne sont qu’en partie mature sur les plans sensoriel, physiologique et moteur. Leurs interactions avec la mère sont limitées. En élevage, dès qu’ils sont capables de sortir du nid, ils accèdent à l'aliment de la lapine, bien qu’ils aient des besoins nutritionnels différents des siens. Face à ces apparentes fragilités, l’espèce a développé des adaptations physiologiques et comportementales efficaces comme l’existence de la phéromone mammaire, le comportement coprophage au nid et la dynamique de maturation du système digestif, qui sont autant d’atouts contribuant à la viabilité et robustesse des lapereaux au sevrage. Nous présentons ici certains leviers d’action envisageables en élevage (gestion des nids, homogénéisation des tailles et poids de portée, allaitement contrôlé, alimentation spécifique) pour valoriser ces atouts.

Every year, large quantities of stems and pits are generated during sweet cherry processing, without any substantial use. Although stems are widely recognized by traditional medicine, detailed and feasible information about their bioactive composition or biological value is still scarce, as well as the characterization of kernels. Therefore, we conducted a study in which bioactivity potential of extracts from stems and kernels of four sweet cherry cultivars (Early Bigi (grown under net cover (C) and without net cover (NC)), Burlat, Lapins, and Van) were examined. The assays included antioxidant (by 2,2′-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic) acid (ABTS), 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and β-carotene-linoleic acid bleaching assays), and antibacterial activities against important Gram negative and Gram positive bacterial human isolates. Profile and individual phenolic composition of each extract were determined by High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis. Extracts from stems of cv. Lapins and kernels of Early Bigi NC presented high levels of total phenolics, flavonoids, ortho-diphenols and saponins. Excepting for cv. Early Bigi NC, major phenolic compounds identified in stems and kernels were sakuranetin and catechin, respectively. In cv. Early Bigi NC the most abundant compounds were ellagic acid for stems and protocatechuic acid for kernels. In all extracts, antioxidant activities showed a positive correlation with the increments in phenolic compounds. Antimicrobial activity assays showed that only stem’s extracts were capable of inhibiting the growth of Gram positive isolates. This new data is intended to provide new possibilities of valorization of these by-products and their valuable properties.

Nous avons comparé la capacité des cellules endothéliales isolées de l'aorte, de la veine cave, de la chambre ventriculaire et du système microvasculaire pulmonaire du lapin de produire un ou des facteurs de relaxation en réponse à l'acetylcholine (ACh) et à la bradykinine (BK). Des anneaux aortiques de lapin dépouillés d'endothélium ont été précontractés avec 1 μM de phényléphrine et superfusés à 2 mL/min avec une solution tampon bicarbonatée de Krebs–Henseleit. Les anneaux ont été exposées à des épreuves témoins d'embols de 3 mL de 1 μM d'ACh ou 1 μM de BK. Les embols d'ACh et de BK ont été ajoutés à des cultures de cellules endothéliales qui avaient été incubées pendant 45 min dans des milieux contenant ou non 10 μM de NG-nitro-L-arginine (NNLA). La solution ainsi obtenue a été répandue sur les anneaux en moins de 8 s. Seules les cellules endothéliales ventriculaires gauches stimulées avec ACh et BK et les cellules endothéliales microvasculaires pulmonaires stimulées avec BK ont donné des produits qui ont relaxé les anneaux d'approximativement 6 ± 2%. L'incubation avec la NNLA a atténué ces relaxations. Nos résultats indiquent qu'il existe des différences dans la capacité des cellules endothéliales de divers sites anatomiques de libérer des facteurs de relaxation dérivés de l'oxyde nitrique en réponse à l'ACh et à la BK. Abstract:
The mechanism of rotavirus diarrhea was investigated by infecting young, specific pathogen-free, New Zealand rabbits with a lapine rotavirus, strain La/RR510. With 4-wk-old animals, virus shedding into the intestinal lumen peaked at 72 h postinfection (hpi), and a mild, watery diarrhea appeared at 124 hpi. No intestinal lesions were seen up to 144 hpi, indicating that diarrhea does not follow mucosal damage but can precede it, as if cell dysfunction were the cause, not the consequence, of the histological lesions. Kinetic analyses with brush-border membrane vesicles isolated from infected rabbits revealed strong inhibition of both Na+-d-glucose (SGLT1) and Na+-l-leucine symport activities. For both symporters, only maximum velocity decreased with time. The density of phlorizin-binding sites and SGLT1 protein antigen in the membrane remained unaffected, indicating that the virus effect on this symporter is direct. Because SGLT1 supports water reabsorption under physiological conditions, the mechanism of rotavirus diarrhea may involve a generalized inhibition of Na+-solute symport systems, hence, of water reabsorption. Massive water loss through the intestine may eventually overwhelm the capacity of the organ for water reabsorption, thereby helping the diarrhea to get established.

Chondrocytes in arthritic cartilage respond poorly to insulin-like growth factor I (IGF-I). Studies with inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) knockout mice suggest that NO is responsible for part of the cartilage insensitivity to IGF-I. These studies characterize the relationship between NO and chondrocyte responses to IGF-I in vitro, and define a mechanism by which NO decreases IGF-I stimulation of chondrocyte proteoglycan synthesis. Lapine cartilage slices, chondrocytes, and cartilage from osteoarthritic (OA) human knees were exposed to NO from the donors S-nitroso- N-acetylpenicillamine (SNAP) or ( Z)-1-[2-(2-aminoethyl)- N-(2-ammonioethyl)amino]diazen-1-ium-1,2-diolate] (DETA NONOate), by transduction with adenoviral transfer of iNOS (Ad-iNOS), or by activation with interleukin-1 (IL-1). NO synthesis was estimated from medium nitrite, and proteoglycan synthesis was measured as incorporation of 35SO4. IGF-I receptor phosphorylation was evaluated with Western analysis. SNAP, DETA NONOate, endogenously synthesized NO in Ad-iNOS-transduced cells, or IL-1 activation decreased IGF-I-stimulated proteoglycan synthesis in cartilage and monolayer cultures of chondrocytes. OA cartilage responded poorly to IGF-I; however, the response to IGF-I was restored by culture with N G-monomethyl-l-arginine(l-NMA). IGF-I receptor phosphotyrosine was diminished in chondrocytes exposed to NO. These studies show that NO is responsible for part of arthritic cartilage/chondrocyte insensitivity to anabolic actions of IGF-I; inhibition of receptor autophosphorylation is potentially responsible for this effect.

<p>Tanaman nilam tumbuh dan berproduksi dengan baik pada daerah dengan curah hujan relatif tinggi dan merata sepanjang tahun. Tanaman dalam kondisi kekurangan air terus menerus akan mengalami strcs air dan berpengaruh terhadap proses fisiologis, menurunkan permukaan trans- pirasi, luas daun menurun, dan mempercepat dcfiidrasi protoplasma. Penelitian pengaruh ketersediaan air terhadap petumbuhan dan produksi 2 (dua) klon nilam dilakukan di rumah kaca Instalasi Penelitian Cimanggu, Balittro Bogor mulai bulan Nopember 1999 sampai dengan Mei 2000. Penelitian ini betujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ketersediaan air terhadap partumbuhan dan produksi dua klon nilam (klon Sidikalang dan klon Situak) sekaligus diamati pengaruhnya terhadap kadar dan kualitas minyak nilam (rendemen, warna dan kandungan patchouly alkohol). Percobaan dilakukan dalam polibag menggunakan tanah kering jenis latosol Cimanggu Bogor yang diaduk dengan pupuk kandang sapi (3:1) sebanyak 10 kg/polibag disusun menggunakan rancangan factorial (dua faktor) dalam rancangan acak lengkap (RAL), diulang 3 kali. Ukuran plot 8 polibag/ perlakuan. Faktor pertama : klon nilam terdiri dari 2 jenis (K) yaitu : Kl = klon Sidikalang dan K2 = klon Situak. Faktor kedua: tingkat ketersediaan air (A) 4 taraf yaitu Al = 25% kapasitas lapang, A2 = 50% kapasitas lapang, A3 = 75% kapasitas lapang, dan A4 = 100 % kapasitas lapang. Peubah yang diamati meliputi persentase tumbuh tunas, tinggi tanaman, luas daun, bobot daun basah dan bobot daun kering, kadar minyak digambarkan dari rendemen dan kualitas minyak (wana dan kandungan patchouly alkohol). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa untuk jumlah tunas tidak ada interaksi antara tingkat ketersediaan air dan klon yang diuji, tetapi untuk jumlah daun ada interaksi. Tingkat pemberian air 75% kapasitas lapang (KL) secara keseluruhan memberikan pertumbuhan optimum bagi kedua klon, kecuali untuk parameter jumlah daun. Pada klon Situak. tingkat pemberian air 100% KL yang memberikan jumlah daun terbanyak. Perlakuan ketersediaan air 100% KL pada klon Sidikalang memberikan bobot daun kering tetinggi dibanding perlakuan lainnya, sedang untuk klon Situak, ketersediaan air pada taraf 75% KL memberikan bobot daun kering tetinggi. Rendemen minyak klon Situak dengan tingkat ketersediaan air 25% KL tertinggi (4.0%) dengan wana minyak kuning muda tcrang, diikuti tingkat 50% KL (3.0%) dengan wana minyak kusam/kemh. Kandungan patchouly alkohol klon Situak rata-rata (30%) lebih baik daripada klon Sidikalang, diperoleh dari perlakuan ketersediaan air 25% KL. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa untuk memperoleh petumbuhan dan produksi yang tinggi, ketersediaan air dalam tanah diperlukan antara 75 - 100% KL. Namun, untuk mendapatkan kandungan patchouly alkohol tinggi ketersediaan air yang dibutuhkan lebih rendah yaitu 25 % - 50%) KL.</p><p>Kata kunci: Nilam, Pogostemon cablin, ketersediaan air, petumbuhan, produksi</p><p> </p><p><strong>ABSTRACT</strong></p><p><strong>The effect of water availability the growth and production of two patchouly clones </strong></p><p>Patchouly plant grows and produces very well in the area with high and everly rain fall through the year. Plants with continuous shortage of water would face water stress and affect physiologis process, transpiration surface, leaf area and protoplasmic dehydration. Several levels of water needs were tested in this experiment, which was carried out in a glass house of Cimanggu Installation, Indonesian Spice and Medicinal Crops Research Institute, Bogor, rom November 1999 to May 2000. The objective was to find out the effect of water availability on two clones of patchouly growth, production and oil content (rendement, colour and patchouly alcohol). The experiment was conducted in polybags using Cimanggu Latosol soil mixed with cow dung (3:1), 10 kg/polybag, arranged in a factorially completely random design with 3 replications. Plot size was 8 polybag/treatment. The first factor was two clones of patchouly : K, = Sidikalang and K2 = Situak. The second factor was 4 levels of water availability: 2J% (A,), 50% (A2). 75% (A,), and 100% (A,) ield capacity (FC). Variables observed were percentage of shoot growth, plant height, leaf area, fresh weight and dry weight, oil content (rendement, colour and patchouly alcohol). The result showed that there was no interaction between the two factors for number of shoots. Clone of Sidikalang had higher plant height than that of Situak. The water availability of 75% (FC) gave optimum growth for the two clones, except the number of leaves. For Situak the water avaibility of 100% (FC) gave the highest number of leaves. For Sidikalang the water availability of 100% gave the highest dry weight of leaves. Oil rendement for Situak with 25% FC was the highest (4.0) with bright yellow colour. The content of patchouly alcohol for Situak was higher than that of Sidikalang (30%). Therefore, it can be concluded that to obtain the optimum growth and the higest production it needed 75 - 100% (FC) water availability, while for high patchouly alcohol content, it needed buzer the water availability, i.e. 25-50% (FC).</p><p>Key words: Patchouli, Pogostemon cablin, water level, growth, production</p>

<p>Penyakit virus pada tembakau cerutu menyebabkan kerugian yang cukup besar, yaitu dapat mengurangi produksi sekitar 7–30%. Secara morfologi, daun tembakau yang terserang virus pada umumnya menunjuk-kan gejala mosaik, berkerut atau menggulung, ukurannya menjadi lebih kecil, rapuh, elastisitas dan daya bakarnya menurun. Informasi tentang Cucumber Mosaic Virus (CMV) dalam bidang anatomi dan fisiologi ma-sih sangat sedikit, sehingga penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menambah informasi tentang pengaruh infeksi CMV terhadap karakter morfologi, anatomi dan fisiologi daun tembakau cerutu. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Agustus-November 2011, di Kebun Percobaan Karangploso dan Laboratorium Fitopatologi Balittas, Ma-lang, menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok dengan 3 ulangan. Inokulum CMV diambil dari tanaman sakit di lapang dan diperbanyak pada tanaman indikator. Inokulasi dilakukan pada tanaman tembakau cerutu varietas H-382 menggunakan sprayer duco type Sagola pada tekanan kompresor 4,5 kg/cm2. Pengamatan dilakukan pada 3 bulan setelah tanam terhadap parameter morfologi, anatomi tanaman dan kadar klorofil daun tembakau pada skor 0–5. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara tanaman yang sehat dengan tanaman yang diinfeksi CMV. Makin tinggi tingkat infeksinya, makin besar penurunan luas daun dan kadar klorofil total tanaman tembakau. Penurunan rasio klorofil a/b daun lebih tinggi pada skor 4 dibandingkan skor 5, yaitu sebesar 74%, tetapi kerusakan morfologi paling parah terjadi pada skor 5, dimana terjadi perubahan bentuk dan secara anatomi terdapat bentukan kranz (spot-spot hitam) pada berkas pembuluh.</p><p> </p><p>Virus disease on cigar tobacco causes significant losses on yield, due to reduction on productivity 7–30%. Morphologicaly, tobacco leaf infected by virus generally shows symptoms of mosaic, wrinkled or curled, its size becomes smaller, fragile, elasticity, and burn down. Information about cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) in anatomy and physiology was still slightly, so objective of this study was to determine the effect of cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) infection to the character of the morphology, anatomy, and physiology of cigar tobacco leaves. The experiment was conducted in August–November 2011, at the Karangploso Experimental Station and Phytopathology Laboratory of ISFCRI, Malang, using a randomized block design with three replications. CMV was inoculated from diseased plants in the field and propagated on indicator plants. Inoculation was done on cigar tobacco H-382 varieties employing Sagola duco sprayer at a pressure of 4.5 kg/cm2 compressor. Observations were made at 3 months after planting for identifiying morphological and physiological parameters and leaf chlorophyl content of tobacco using score under 0–5. The results showed that there were significant differences between healthy plants and plants infected with CMV. The reduction in leaf area and total chlorophyl content of tobacco plants were greater as the rate of infection was higher.Decreasing in the ratio of chlorophyl a/b leaves was higher on plant with the score index of 4 than the score of 5 by 74%, but the most severe morphological damage occurs in plant with score of 5, indicating by change of shape and kranz formations (black spots) on the vascular bundle.</p>

Abstract:
Stroke perdarahan spontan dan penyakit paru obstruktif kronik (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease/COPD) merupakan dua penyakit yang memiliki angka morbiditas dan mortalitas yang paling tinggi di dunia. Kondisi COPD akan meningkatkan resiko terjadinya stroke, selain itu dapat mengakibatkan terjadinya hipoksemia dan hiperkapnia. Seorang pria berusia 62 tahun datang ke unit gawat darurat karena mengalami penurunan kesadaran dan tidak dapat menggerakkan anggota tubuh sebelah kiri sejak 1 hari, pasien memiliki riwayat hipertensi namun tidak rutin meminum obat, pasien memiliki riwayat sering sesak, dan berdasarkan pemeriksaan fisik didapatkan kondisi barrel chest. Berdasarkan pemeriksaan CT-scan kepala didapatkan perdarahan intrakranial spontan pada basal ganglia sinistra. Pasien dilakukan tindakan kraniotomi evakuasi, namun 2 jam setelah dilakukan induksi anestesi terjadi kondisi desaturasi, hiperkapnia, peningkatan tekanan jalan nafas, dan ditemukan wheezing pada kedua lapang paru, kemudian diberikan terapi farmakologis dan non farmakologis untuk mengatasi kondisi bronkospasme. Pascabedah dilakukan pemanjangan ventilasi mekanik hingga pasien memenuhi kriteria untuk dilakukan ekstubasi. Penanganan pasien stroke dengan komorbid COPD membutuhkan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam mengenai interaksi otak dengan fungsi pernafasan akibat perubahan fisiologi dan patofisiologi pasien COPD. Management of Spontaneous Intracranial haemorhage with Comorbids Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Occurring Intraoperative BronchospasmAbstractStroke and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are the two diseases that have the highest morbidity and mortality rates in the world. COPD conditions will increase the risk of stroke, but it can lead to hypoxemia and hypercapnia. A 62-year-old man came to the emergency room because of a decreased consciousness and was unable to move the left limb since 1 day, the patient had a history of hypertension but did not regularly take medication, the patient had a history of frequent tightness, and based on physical examination was obtained barrel chest condition. Based on a head CT scan, spontaneous intracranial hemorrhage occurs in the left basal ganglia. Evacuation craniotomy was performed, but 2 hours after anesthesia induction occurred conditions of desaturation, hypercapnia, increased airway pressure, and wheezing was found in both lung fields, then given pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy to overcome the condition of bronchospasm. After surgery, lengthening of mechanical ventilation is done until the patient meets the criteria for extubation. The treatment of stroke patients with co-morbid COPD requires a deeper understanding of brain interactions with respiratory function due to changes in physiology and pathophysiology of COPD patients.

Sari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji respons fisiologi dan biokimia tanaman kacang hijau terhadap cekaman kekeringan. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Screen House Exfarm Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Jenderal Soedirman Purwokerto dari bulan Maret sampai dengan Oktober 2018. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan pola faktorial 3 x 3. Faktor pertama yang dicoba adalah tingkat kelengasan tanah, yakni kadar air kapasitas lapang sebagai kontrol, 75% kapasitas lapang, dan 50% kapasitas lapang. Faktor kedua adalah varietas unggul kacang hijau yang terdiri dari Varietas Vima 2, varietas Vima 3, dan Varietas Kutilang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa cekaman kekeringan sampai 50 persen kapasitas lapang sudah menunjukkan penurunan pada karakter luas daun dan bobot kering tanaman, tetapi belum berpengaruh terhadap kadar prolin tanaman kacang hijau. The first factor was the level of soil moisture, consisted of level of 100% field capacity as control, 75% field capacity, and 50% field capacity. The second factor was the superior varieties of mungbeans, consisted of Vima 2, Vima 3, and Kutilang varieties. The results showed that drought stress up to 50 percent of field capacity had shown a decrease in the character of leaf area and dry weight of plants, but it had not affected the prolin content of mungbean plants.
