Abstract:
Bricks manufactured, based on dredged sediments extracted from Tangier and Larache ports in Morocco were investigated. Chemical, physical, geotechnical, mineralogical and environmental characterizations studies of ports dredged sediments were performed. Partial substitution of natural clay by dredged sediments was achieved with different substitution rates by weight (20%, 40%, 50%, 60% and 70%) to manufacture brick samples at the laboratory scale. The compressive strength was the factor determining the optimal substitution rate of the natural clay. Compressive strength values of fired bricks with different rates of sediments incorporated show that the manufactured bricks have mechanical characteristics relatively close to natural clay until 60% substitution for Larache port dredged sediment (SL) and until 50% for Tangier port dredged sediment (ST). The results in this study confirm that dredged sediments from the ports of Tangier and Larache can be used as an alternative raw materials resource for the manufacturing of fired bricks.

Abstract:
Abstract A serious environmental problem can arise from the presence of pesticides in soils and waters. Hence, in this study we have carried out the adsorption of the Thiabendazole fungicide onto four soils collected from several areas in Morocco as Larache, Laouamra, Ksar kebir and Tlata drissana. Physicochemical properties, elemental analysis, X-ray diffraction (XRD) were investigated to characterise the four selected soils. The experimental equilibrium data were analysed using Langmuir, Freundlich models. The equilibrium data were best described by a Langmuir model for all adsorbents. The maximum estimated adsorption capacity was 0.747 mg∙g−1, 0.751 mg∙g−1, 0.473 mg∙g−1 and 1.083 mg∙g−1, for Larache, Laouamra, Ksar kebir and Tlata drissana soils, respectively.

Bulletin de la Société Géologique de France 175, no. 4 (July 1, 2004): 383–97. http://dx.doi.org/10.2113/175.4.383.

Abstract:
Abstract In this paper, a tecto-sedimentary evolution model of the northwestern external Rif zones (Morocco) is proposed. It is based on the study of structural relationships and the biostratigraphic and sedimentologic analysis of different Tertiary syn-tectonic units. This zone shows alternating foredeep basins and anticlinal ramps with a NNW-SSE structural trend and a vergence toward the WSW. The trend of turbiditic bodies and palaeocurrent directions (from the SSE to the NNW) are parallel to the regional tectonic strike. Sidi Mrayt and El Habt basins are filled with syn-tectonic middle Eocene to middle Miocene sediments; The Habt basin is subdivided in two sub-basins: Asilah-Larache and Rirha-Gzoula. The deposits are distributed in two separated turbiditic complex, each one including a stacking of turbiditic systems. The Rirha-Gzoula and Asilah-Larache sub-basins are located in front of two anticline ridge structures made up of Upper Cretaceous and Lower Eocene material; they are respectively Boujediane and Arbaa Ayacha anticlines. The distribution of turbiditic bodies, unconformities and structural relationships within the thrusts and folds system in the northwestern external Rif indicate the progression toward the external zones of fault-propagation folds and associated basins.

Abstract:

The agriculture sector in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al-Hoceima-Region (Northern Morocco) contributes a significant percentage to the national revenue. The Larache Province is at the regional forefront in agriculture terms due to its large irrigated areas. Golden-Gogi is a biological farm located in the Larache Province, and its objective is to produce organic crops. Besides climate change, this farm suffers from biotic factors such as snails and insects. These problems cause diseases in plants, resulting in massive crop production losses. Early detection of disease and biotic factors in plants is a difficult task for farmers, but it is now possible thanks to artificial intelligence. For that reason, we aim to contribute to this Province by comparing the well-known models in machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) used in early plant disease detection to specify the best-classifier in terms of detecting mint plant diseases. Mint plant is a major crop on the Golden-Gogi farm, and its dataset was collected from there. As per findings, DL classifiers outperform ML classifiers in disease detection. The best-classifier is DenseNet201, with high accuracy of 94.12%. Hence, the system using DenseNet201 offers a solution for farmers of this Province in making urgent decisions to avoid mint yield losses.

Abstract:

Abstract:
This geographical study on the role of larache and ksar-el-kebir in the space organisation, aims at pointing out the social and space alterations and transformations that have been caused by the irrigation in the low-loukkos (top north of morocco) suice 1975. After having situated both towns in their regional context through a detailled historic showing the economical difficulties of larache and ksar before independence the analysis tries to point out the varioces alterations which have been taking place suice 1975 in the low-loukkos. Firstly, the study focuses on the consequences of irrigation on the urbain growth and the migratory motions towards the low-loukkos towns. It tries to explain the relationship between immigration and their growth. Secondly, the study attempts to define the socio-economical radiance of larache and ksar:it aims at analysing of the agricultural products. Consequently, the economical domination of ksar is balanced in larache by a state intervention which reinforces the administrative and the agro-industrial functions. Moreover the state actsas the main real estate promotor. .

Abstract:
After introducing the concepts of language maintenance and language-planning, the thesis outlines the current status of a selection of European minority languages. These are later drawn upon in order to make comparisons about the present state of Scots and possible ways forward for its language activists. The language's identity crisis and consequent problems for language maintenance are examined, and the conclusion reached that major intervention in both status and corpus planning is required for the language to have any secure future. Potential areas for status planning are discussed, focusing on the options for the short and medium terms. The latter part of the thesis concentrates on the problems for corpus-planners, discussing the alternatives for solutions in the fields of orthography, lexicon and grammar. The greatest problem for Scots is the depth of public and official ignorance surrounding it. The author's argument is that will only change when Scots' own advocates understand that the case for language maintenance is more than a case for Scots poetry. Rather, it implies an extensive campaign for status-planning measures, most of which have implications in the field of corpus planning. The thesis is written in Scots.

This edition contains a general presentation devoted to the author's biography and to the literary background in toulouse as well as in the west-occitan area in the early 17th century. A first bibliography gathers the works quoted in the edition of the two texts. La margalide is a collection in the petrarchan type consisting of 94 sonnets and 13 long poems. An introduction shows the literary interest of the original work. Meslanges consist of 37 sonnets dedicated to some of the author's near relations or friends and of 15 long poems of petrarchan or pastoral inspiration. They are preceded by an introduction too. Each of the two works is followed by a general glossary as well as an index of the proper names. A second bibliography gathers all the documents consulted for this survey. An appendix provides a map which help to locate the places and an index of the works published in toulouse under the reign of henry iv and the early reign of louis xiii (1589 -1622)

Abstract:
Constantin Stanislavski developed a method for actors in bringing to life characters for the stage. Even though Stanislavski developed his theories in response to the stage climate of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, many of his ideas remain relevant today. In this study, parts of his system were applied to the roles performed in Moisés Kaufman's The Laramie Project. Those roles were Moisés Kaufman, Jonas Slonaker, Doug Laws, Anonymous, Detective Rob Debree, Governor Jim Geringer, Reverend Fred Phelps and Dennis Shepard. The purpose of this exploration was to create unique, believable characters and develop solutions for personal acting problems. Through this study, it was concluded that this method empowered me as I sought ways to personalize with the reality of the characters.

Wolff, Sarah E. "The wild west| Archaeological and historical investigations of Victorian culture on the frontier at Fort Laramie, Wyoming (1849-1890)." Thesis, The University of Arizona, 2017. http://pqdtopen.proquest.com/#viewpdf?dispub=10245673.

Full text
Abstract:

This dissertation addresses how Victorian class hierarchy persisted on the frontier, and manifested in aspects of military life at Fort Laramie, Wyoming. Historians have argued that Victorian culture was omnipresent, but forts were located on the frontier, which was removed from the cultural core. While social status differences were a central aspect of Victorian culture, few studies have investigated how resilient class divisions were in differing landscapes. The U.S. western frontier was a landscape of conflict, and under the continual stress of potential violence, it is possible that Victorian social status differences weakened. While status differences in the military were primarily signaled through rank insignia and uniforms, this research focuses on subtle everyday inequalities, such as diet and pet dogs. Three independent lines of evidence from Fort Laramie, Wyoming (1849–1890) suggest that Victorian social status differences did persist despite the location. The Rustic Hotel (1876–1890), a private hotel at Fort Laramie, served standardized Victorian hotel dishes, which could be found in urban upper-class hotels. Within the military, the upper-class officers dined on the best cuts of beef, hunted prestige game birds, and supplemented their diet with sauger/walleye fish. Enlisted men consumed poorer cuts of beef, hunted smaller game mammals, and caught catfish. Officers also owned well-bred hunting dogs, which were integrated into the family. In contrast, a company of enlisted men frequently adopted a communal mongrel as a pet. This project increases our knowledge of the everyday life on the frontier and social relationships between officers and enlisted men in the U.S. Army. It also contributes to a larger understanding of Victorian culture class differences in frontier regions.

Abstract:
This report presents the results of vegetation monitoring efforts in 2020 at Fort Laramie National Historic Site (FOLA) by the Northern Great Plains Inventory and Monitoring Network (NGPN) and the United States Geological Survey (USGS). This was the tenth year of combined monitoring efforts. Crew members from USGS visited 9 long-term monitoring plots to collect data on the plant communities at FOLA. This work is part of a long-term monitoring effort designed to provide a better understanding of the condition of the vegetation community at FOLA and how it changes over time. USGS staff measured species richness, herb-layer height, native and non-native species abundance, ground cover, and site disturbance at each of the nine plots. In plots where woody species were present, tree regeneration, tall shrub density, tree density, and woody fuel loads were also measured. Data collection at seven plots was incomplete, where only point-intercept, site disturbance, and invasive species presence data were collected, while in two plots the previously listed protocols as well as the quadrat protocol were performed. In 2020, the monitoring crews identified 44 unique plant species in 9 monitoring plots. Of those species, 19 were exotic species. In a majority of plots (5 of 9), there was a greater percent of native species cover compared to exotic species cover. However, exotic plants were found at every plot in FOLA. No rare species were observed during our surveys
