Abstract:

This research entitled: "Acoustic pollution and its incidence in population health along Alejo Lascano Avenue in Jipijapa city - Ecuador." The methodology that was used basically was the one of previous observation, the application of different instruments that were used beside tabulation and interpretation of results. Surveys were carried out to determine the knowledge of population about noise pollution and possible effects that this causes in daily life. Monitoring was carried out to measure the decibels caused by noise, they were put through in three different points, in a period of two months (August and September), on working days (Monday and Tuesday) and non-working days (Saturday and Sunday), rush hours in the morning (08H00-08H30), noon (12H00-12H30) and afternoon (17H00-17H30). The highest level of noise in August was presented at midday (12H00-12H30) on Monday 7 at point 1 of Alejo Lascano Ave. Km.1 Puerto Cayo road with a maximum average of 102.5 decibels dB (A) in September the highest noise level was at the same time on Tuesday the 11th at point 2 a maximum average of 103.7 decibels dB (A) was given, these values being higher than permissible in Ecuador, recommended by the TULSMA that is 55 decibels dB (A). Through surveys it was established the possible damages caused by noise pollution in Alejo Lascano Avenue Km.1 Puerto Cayo road in Jipijapa city with physiological and psychological effects. The environmental impact caused by noise is high, causing harmful effects on population such as possible hearing loss, headaches, nervous system alterations, stress that harm human health.

Abstract:
In the interwar period, a system for the movement of men, arms, and printed matter developed into a political network that in imperial sources came to be called the “lascar system.” Lascars were Indian seamen who worked for British and international merchant shipping companies and had contacts with trade unionists, communists, anarchists, and other politically active parties across the world—in particular in port towns such as Hamburg, Antwerp and Marseilles. They became key players in the politics of the interwar world, and especially in a still-colonised India, which was subject to various censorship regulations and a panoply of repressive legislation. A number of lascars became crucial in the emerging communist movement and in trade union politics. In a world of increasingly stringent border controls, restrictions on the movement of people, and paranoia about political radicalism and its ability to “infect” new areas, the lascars' mobility became an asset to political movements and a source of anxiety for states.Given this, it is surprising that the literature on lascars seldom, if ever, addresses the question of their political activities. This essay takes some steps in that direction, focusing on the 1920s, when the “lascar system” took shape. “Lascar” is of course a name given to a profession, not an identity or a political ideology; and yet the importance of this profession in the politics of the early twentieth century, and of the interwar period in particular, is far too important to ignore or treat as mere coincidence.

AbstractIn 1802, several “country ships” arrived in London from Bengal, their lascar crews having suffered severe casualties due to fatigue, exposure, and starvation. Aboard the Union, the officers’ treatment of the crew was so bad that the lascars and a sympathetic English sailor alerted the East India Company. Their testimony, recorded by the Company's Committee of Shipping, provides new insights into lascar living and working conditions – in particular the problem of undermanning ships – reminding us how the management–labour dynamic aboard a ship at sea always favoured owners and officers rather than workers.

J. Anim. Sci. 95: 117–127. The experimental objective was to determine the dose effect of live yeast culture (YC) on rumen fermentation profiles and microbial total cell concentrations in precision-fed dairy heifers exposed to different rapidly fermented carbohydrates diets. A split-plot design with starch level as the whole plot and YC dose as sub-plot was administered in a four-period (21 d) 4×4 Latin square balanced for carryover effects. Eight Holstein heifers were allocated to two starch treatments (28% starch: HS; 17% starch: LS) and to a sequence of YC doses (0, 10, 30, and 50 g d−1). Total volatile fatty acid concentration was not different among YC doses or starch level, but molar proportions of propionate, isobutyrate, and isovalerate were higher for HS than for LS. Mean ruminal ammonia concentration was increased in HS-fed heifers. Heifers fed HS had an increased number of viable, non-viable, and total fluid-associated bacteria, particle-associated bacteria, and total bacteria. Increasing YC dose linearly beyond 10 g d−1 decreased viable and total fluid-associated bacteria. The effects of various YC doses on ruminal fermentation products, pH, and microbial total cell concentrations indicate diet dependency between source of readily available carbohydrates and YC addition in dairy heifers.

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:
Marking the cattle populations by individual genes and gene complexes createsnew opportunities for the development of selection when genetic methods aim to prevent the decrease of the populations’ gene variability. The article reveals the studies of the genetic structure of the Simmental cattle population, PAT breeding facility "Chervoniy Veleten" for erythrocyte antigens of 9 genetic systems (A, B, C, F, J, L, M, S, Z); linear affiliation of animals was taken into account. Animal erythrocyte antigens were determined by hemolysis reaction using monospecific sera - reagents. It is established that the spectrum of certain antigens is specific for Simmental cattle. The high frequency of antigenic factors G2, T2, E3/, G/, I/, O/, Q/, B// (q = 0,364 - 0,636) let us identify allele markers inherent in Simmental cattle: BGKE/G/O/Q/, BGKE/O/, BGO/, G2O2Y2, as well as OQ/, OI/Q/, TV /P/. The analysis of the of the most numerous factory lines (Neolit, Lavra, Zorkiy, Biser, Lascar) was carried out. It was shown that the markers of the Neolit line can be considered as the alleles: BOI'Q'(q = 0.2931) and BOTG`K` (q = 0.2392), Lavra - BBIA`K` (q = 0.1863) and BO` (q = 0.2500), Zorkiy - ВBGO` (q = 0.1325) and Вb, Biser - ВOI`Q` (q = 0.2246) and BG/ (q = 0.1920), Lascara - ВBGKE`GÒ `Q` (q = 0.1405) and BO` (q = 0.2735). It was found, that alleles EAB, which are more common for Laurel and Lascar lines (Kv=32.04%) are marked by the most similarities in the alleles of the EAB - blood group system, the highest values of the difference coefficient are characteristic of the Neolit - Lascar and Neolit - Laurel lines (55.66% and 54.86% respectively), the most differentiated was the Neolit line (Kv ser. = 49.48%, dser. = 0.332). Detection of interlinear differences in related groups of Simmental cattle allows preliminary prediction, correction and plan the animal selection for factory mating.

Phenomenon appeared when religious activities conducted by ikhwan eks hoodlum. This phenomenon appeared in Mojo village, Semanggi, Pasar Kliwon, Surakarta. This village had bad history. Any kind of bad activities were found in this village but the social life changed since 1999. The villagers agreed to close three prostitution locations in this village. Then, Islamic invitation came to hoodlums, step by step, their lives changed to be better. Researcher divides their lives into three periods. First, they were being good Muslims; second, they joined to lascar activities, third, the period after the general leader of lascars died. Based on this reality, researcher focused this study on the Islamic understanding of ikhwan eks hoodlum, some factors that shaped their understandings, and the impacts of their Islamic understandings. This study used qualitative method with interactiosme symbolic approach. This theory said that human being activities based on their symbol understanding. This understanding was formed by social interacts. To support this method, the writer used social learned and Islamic invitation (dakwah) that shaped their Muslim personalities. Among three periods, lascar period took more proportions. They joined sweeping violent activities and they against many hoodlums physically. These activities made many hoodlums areas be Islamic village. Apart from that, second period have produced extreme thought of some ikhwan.

Abstract:
Batailles hook Lascaux has not received much scholarly attention. This essay attempts to fill in a gap in the literature by explicating Bataille's scholarship on Lascaux to his body of writing as a whole—an exercise that, arguably, demonstrates the significance of the book and, consequently, the shortsightedness of its neglect by critics who have not traditionally grasped the relevance of the text for illuminating Bataille's theory of art and transgression

Abstract:
Lascaux Cave (Montignac, France) contains paintings from the Upper Paleolithic period. Shortly after its discovery in 1940, the cave was seriously disturbed by major destructive interventions. In 1963, the cave was closed due to algal growth on the walls. In 2001, the ceiling, walls and sediments were colonized by the fungus Fusarium solani. Later, black stains, probably of fungal origin, appeared on the walls. Biocide treatments, including quaternary ammonium derivatives, were extensively applied for a few years, and have been in use again since January 2008. The microbial communities in Lascaux Cave were shown to be composed of human-pathogenic bacteria and entomopathogenic fungi, the former as a result of the biocide selection. The data show that fungi play an important role in the cave, and arthropods contribute to the dispersion of conidia. A careful study on the fungal ecology is needed in order to complete the cave food web and to control the black stains threatening the Paleolithic paintings.

Abstract:
The "space" of Lascar strong types, on some sort and relative to a given complete theory T, is in general not a compact Hausdorff topological space. We have at least three (modest) aims in this paper. The first is to show that spaces of Lascar strong types, as well as other related spaces and objects such as the Lascar group Gal L(T) of T, have well-defined Borel cardinalities (in the sense of the theory of complexity of Borel equivalence relations). The second is to compute the Borel cardinalities of the known examples as well as of some new examples that we give. The third is to explore notions of definable map, embedding, and isomorphism, between these and related quotient objects. We also make some conjectures, the main one being roughly "smooth if and only if trivial". The possibility of a descriptive set-theoretic account of the complexity of spaces of Lascar strong types was touched on in the paper [E. Casanovas, D. Lascar, A. Pillay and M. Ziegler, Galois groups of first order theories, J. Math. Logic1 (2001) 305–319], where the first example of a "non-G-compact theory" was given. The motivation for writing this paper is partly the discovery of new examples via definable groups, in [A. Conversano and A. Pillay, Connected components of definable groups and o-minimality I, Adv. Math.231 (2012) 605–623; Connected components of definable groups and o-minimality II, to appear in Ann. Pure Appl. Logic] and the generalizations in [J. Gismatullin and K. Krupiński, On model-theoretic connected components in some group extensions, preprint (2012), arXiv:1201.5221v1].
