ABSTRACT Introduction: Oral soft lesions represent a diverse array of pathological conditions that necessitate precise and effective treatment. Laser-assisted excision has gained prominence due to its purported benefits in terms of reduced procedural time, decreased bleeding, and improved aesthetic outcomes. However, conventional excision remains a common practice Materials and Methods: A total of 100 patients with clinically diagnosed oral soft lesions were enrolled in this prospective study. Sixteen patients with T1 vocal cord squamous cell carcinoma were treated with endoscopic laser excision during a 4-year period. Two patients with persistent postoperative hoarseness had had anterior commissure lesions and previous radiotherapy; the other patient had a subtotal cordectomy. Keloid scars can lead to significant patient morbidity and disfigurement, especially when located on the head and neck. Massive keloid scars are particularly difficult to manage due to ulceration, infection, pain, and high recurrence rates following excision. We report the successful treatment of a massive head and neck keloid scar with excision and grafting, post-excisional radiotherapy, and ablative fractional laser-assisted topical corticosteroid delivery.

Background/Aim. Planning an elliptical excision of the facial skin, caused by lines of minimum tension, is very important in order to achieve good aesthetic results. The width of the tumor excision affects the possibility of a direct closure of the post-excision defect. The aim of the study was to determine the minimum width of excision that does not affect postoperative symmetry of the face, in relation to the preoperative one, using an objective scanning method with a line laser scanner. Mucocele is one of the most common lesions of the oral mucosa which occur through mucus secretion accumulations. These mucous build-ups are mostly caused through lip biting habits, trauma, or changes in minor salivary duct function. The most common site of mucocele lesions is the lower lip in the oral cavity. Although mucoceles do not exhibit any age predilection, they mostly affect young patients. Their diagnosis is primarily clinical due to the pathognomonic appearance of mucocele. Based on histological findings, they are two types – extravasation and retention. There are many ways of excisi

Pyogenic granuloma is a prevalent, benign muco-cutaneous lesion with exuberant tissue caused by local irritation or trauma. The term ‘pyogenic granuloma’ can be a misnomer because the lesion neither causes pus formation nor represents a true granuloma, histologically. Pyogenic granuloma appears as a sessile or peduncu-lated exophytic mass covered by yellow fibrinous membrane. Its smooth or lobulated surface may easily bleedor ulcerated.

This chapter examines fifty years of evolving annotations in the influential Norton Anthology of English Literature. As editors provide information about canonical works that aim to present Christian truth—like The Faerie Queene and Paradise Lost—they find themselves entangled with an increasingly secular literary world. Notes from earlier editions tend to reflect the perspective of a Christian insider; later editions gradually revise these notes to reflect a more secular literary landscape and to attract the broadest possible audience. The chapter studies these effects by focusing on three “a
