Abstract:
Hypertension has a high morbidity and mortality and studies had revealed that knowledge on hypertension was generally low, and self-care management practice was just at moderate level. Therefore, this study assessed the effect of nurse-led intervention on knowledge of self-care management of hypertension among retirees attending geriatric clinic in LASUTH, Lagos State. One group pre-test, post-test quasi-experimental design was used for the study. A convenience sampling technique was used to select 100 participants for the study. Data were collected with the use of self-developed questionnaire

Abstract:
Eliza Orme lived for two decades after she retired from public life about 1903. This chapter gathers the scanty evidence for what happened during that time, including the breakup of her household and her move to an institutional setting. Direct evidence of this period is scanty, and the narrative depends on her last letter to Samuel Alexander, supplemented by census records and a death certificate. A section on ‘Contemporaneities’ collects information about what her contemporaries were doing during this period of obscurity, and how the causes with which she was associated fared as time passed.

One of the witnesses of the events which followed the collapse of the historic Hungary was Albert Berzeviczy. Before the last hours of the state in 1918, he had been a prominent politician in the Hungarian parliament. At the time of the Aster Revolution, he retired from the political life. He did not support the new Hungarian prime minister Count Mihály Károlyi, since he believed that the Count was a talentless and weak-handed leader, who disarmed the Hungarian army at the end of the First World War, and did not defend our borderlines against our enemies, for example the Romanians, Serbs, and

Abstract By this time, this ex-diplomat was retired. He returned to Rio de Janeiro after a last look at the many things he had seen, to live here for the rest of his days. He could have done it in any city, he was a man for all seasons, but he had a particular love for his country, and possibly was also tired of other places. He did not admit to the many calamities attributed to his country. Yellow fever, for example, because he had denied it so often to the outside world, he had lost his belief in it; and when the cases were reported, he was already infected by the belief that all diseases we

This chapter traces the emerging concerns and contradictory signals reaching George W. Bush up until the end of 2005. Two years after he stood before a banner that read “mission accomplished,” Bush's war in Iraq dragged on. Military officials and intelligence analysts warned of a growing insurgency as early as late 2003. Others hoped political developments would slowly, but surely, overtake opposition, bringing peace and stability to the country. Though Iraqi politics frequently concerned the Bush administration, the president had politics of his own to worry about in the fall of 2004. Iraq pl

Transnational families (TNF) are part of migration and mobility as ways of maintaining family relations across national borders. However, the research of this phenomenon has developed more significantly only in the last few decades, in the era of globalization, better traffic and information communication, and mostly with the increase of temporary and circular forms of migration and mobility in economically developed countries, which inevitably lead to geographically separate lives of members of the same family. A drill collar is a thick-walled tubular component that provides a passage to pumping drilling fluids and a mechanical protection for sensing, power supply, communication, and control devices. Multiple collars can be screwed together along with other downhole tools to make a bottomhole assembly (BHA). Radially oriented ports are often used in the wall of a collar for various reasons. These ports could be susceptible to fatigue-induced failures when a BHA has to undergo a large number of revolutions in a curved well. The survey presented in this report reveals that Nordic citizens are concerned about climate change. Many people are willing to increase efforts to fight climate change, even if this entails a personal contribution in terms of higher taxes or behavioural change. The survey shows that different social groups perceive the impacts of climate change and climate mitigation policies in different ways. In general, attitudes towards climate policies and perceptions regarding their fairness are conditioned by socio-demographic factors such as gender, age, employment status, type of housing and transpor
