Multiculturalism or cultural pluralism is a policy, ideal, or reality that emphasizes the unique characteristics of different cultures in the world, especially as they relate to one another in immigrant receiving nations. The word was first used in 1957 to describe Switzerland but first came into common currency in Canada in the late 1960s2. It quickly spread to other English- speaking and western developed countries.Although There is no clear link between the multiculturalism and the term that so called Balkanization, But this research tries to present the similar possibility of Multiculturalism discourse and Balkanization as a geopolitical term. In fact this research believes that   balkanization is The same idea of multiculturalism in practice, when it comes to the idea of state. On the other hand Vijay Parshad in his book Everybody was Kung Fu fighting  says that "I am interested in “how an investigation of kung fu can help us move from a limited multicultural framework into an antiracist, polycultural one.” This is the research and video that has been made about Bruce lee statue in Mostar, the divided city in Bosnia and Herzegovina", as a method of working in hyper- politicized society.

<p> Bruce Lee is a martial arts action star whose enduring screen image has lasted many decades beyond his death, and this is partially due to the numerous clones that came out after the star's premature death in 1973. These clones and various spin-offs of Lee's life's works resulted in the phenomenon dubbed "Bruceploitation." As time passed, the Bruceploitation phenomenon slowed down, but more recently there has been an interest in Bruce Lee's life with various films and television series that attempt to tell the life story of the actor, especially with his family's involvement. While earlier forms of Bruceploitation films strove to exploit Lee's image for financial profits, these more recent works do not seem to exploit Lee in the same way. In particular, Bruceploitation in more recent works aims to exploit the martial arts star's narrative to associate his persona with specific ideologies. I argue, however, that the more recent television series by China Central Television, <i>The Legend of Bruce Lee,</i> is in fact following in the legacy of Bruceploitation in that this category of texts is not only about making money without the consent of the star, but it is rooted in the act of exploitation, which redefined the image of Bruce Lee in a national Chinese context. Although the CCTV series may not look for financial profits as its main goal through the perpetuation of Lee's narrative, it is exploiting his image for ideological purposes. In particular, the series exploits Lee's image to assert national Chinese power in a global context, which can be seen through the production practices, circulation of the series, and the construction of specific scenes throughout the series. </p>

This dissertation considers the supportive and complementary relation between Mark Johnson’s embodied realism and Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kune Do as a philosophical practice. In exploring this relationship, the emphasis on one’s embodiment condition and its relationship with metaphor and self-expression are the primary focus. First, this work involves providing an introduction to and an exploration of Johnson’s understanding of embodiment and his pragmatic realism with its foundation in metaphorical expression. Second, Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kune Do serves as a kind of exemplification and possible case of effective metaphorical development founded upon a desire for metaphorical-based self-expression of a combat philosophy of embodiment. Third, an analysis of the convergence between the use of metaphor-based embodiment in Lee’s and Johnson’s philosophies is considered. In this respect, both views serve to promote communication and evolution of self-expression as a consequence of certain metaphors. In the final area of analysis, Peirce’s phenomenology offers an understanding of how Lee’s and Johnson’s metaphor-based embodiment provides a fuller context and awareness of the phenomena of embodiment.

Both have been created to aid in the leg's generation of a ground reaction force which supports the torso during locomotion, yet their inherent design has limited their functional growth to date. While many differing gait simulations have demonstrated stable solutions for lossless gait cycles, passive orthoses only diminish the user's impediment, and though powered gait exoskeletons can augment strength and endurance, they are limited by their energy demanding actuators. In response to these two extremes, an energy efficient locomotion assist device was developed from the basis of lossless gait models that did not require external power, and augmented locomotion by harvesting the inherent energy associated with the gait cycle. The simplest anthropomorphic leg can be modeled with a peg-leg shank, a knee, a thigh and a point mass for the head, arms and torso. Using a tuned non-linear hardening torsion spring at the knee joint, the torso support that is required between the ground and pelvis for lossless gait simulations can be generated; allowing the close physical realization of the theoretical. It was found that a single torsion spring can generate the leg thrusts necessary for a realistic range of walking and running gait velocities without the addition of any external power. While frictional losses do inhibit the locomotion assist device's efficiency, since the device functions in parallel with the user's leg, any losses can be supplemented with minimal muscular activity. These results give strong indication that a new avenue of gait assistive and gait augmenting devices that require minimal actuation energy is feasible.<br>by Andrew Williams Carvey.<br>S.M.

La present tesi doctoral no pretén ser una comparació entre la teoria de Habermas i la teoria d'Ackerman per tal de triar quina d'ambdues propostes ens sembla més adient, sinó que partint de l'anàlisi filosòfica de la teoria habermasiana en el seu conjunt, hi apliquem aspectes que considerem compatibles de la teoria d'Ackerman als elements que considerem necessaris millorar. Entenem que els aspectes que destacarem de la teoria d'Ackerman suposen una millora en el conjunt del projecte filosòfic normatiu de Habermas.<br/><br/>El primer capítol del treball està dedicat als antecedents del concepte de dret a Jürgen Habermas. En aquest primer capítol pretenem treballar amb la influència de Max Weber sobre Habermas i, en especial, sobre la seua concepció del dret i sobre les formes de legitimació de les normes jurídiques. Un cop definida la racionalització i com aquest procés afecta al dret i a la llibertat, analitzem el concepte de dret a l'obra de Max Weber i com Habermas l'analitza a la seua obra la Teoria de L'Acció Comunicativa. Aprofitant les similituds entre ambdós autors, també introduïm una primera definició del concepte de dret legítim a l'obra de Habermas Teoria de L'Acció Comunicativa. Un altre punt del primer capítol l'hem dedicat a esmentar l'enorme transcendència que ha tingut la teoria de la racionalització weberiana en altres autors, i les similituds amb teories com la normalització a Foucault, la cosificació a Lukács, la juridificació a Kolhberg o la decomodificació de Polanyi. A aquest mateix capítol introduïm l'eterna discussió entre els autors relativistes i els universalistes, entre el positivisme i el iusnaturalisme.<br/><br/>El segon capítol de la tesi doctoral l'hem dedicat a les influències sobre el primer concepte de dret de Habermas de les diferents teories de control social dels autors de la primera generació de l'escola de Frankfurt, de György Lukács i de Kohlberg. En aquest apartat de la tesi doctoral, hem volgut desenvolupar les influències més importants que les teories dels autors de l'escola de Frankfurt varen produir al projecte de filosofia normativa de Habermas.<br/><br/>El tercer capítol d'aquesta tesi tracta del primer concepte de dret legítim a la primera obra de Habermas. Afirmem que és el primer concepte de dret perquè entenem que Habermas canvia la seua teoria ètica i la forma de legitimar el dret amb l'aparició de l'obra Faktizität und Geltung. El present treball analitza el concepte de dret i la seua forma de legitimació fins a l'any de publicació d'aquesta obra 1992. Aquest capítol es basa fonamentalment en tres obres de Habermas, exposades de manera cronològica, la Teoria de l'Acció Comunicativa, Teoria i Praxis, i Die nachholdende Revolution.<br/><br/>Els dos següents capítols de la tesi doctoral els dediquem al concepte de dret legítim i les formes de legitimació del dret que apareix a l'obra Faktizität und Geltung. El conjunt d'ambdós capítols pretenen exposar de manera completa el concepte de dret legítim, els elements, principis i característiques que formen la teoria jurídica democràtica a Habermas al Faktizität und Geltung. Complementation with the work of Bruce Ackerman"<br/><br/>TEXT:<br/><br/>The present doctoral thesis does not intend to be a comparison among the Habermas's theory and the theory of Ackerman in order to choose which of both proposals it seems us more suitable, but following the philosophical analysis of the Habermas's theory, I apply aspects which I consider compatibles of the Ackerman's work that I understand that should to be improved. I understand that the aspects that I highlight of the theory of Ackerman suppose an improvement of the normative philosophical project of Habermas.<br/><br/>The first chapter of the work is dedicated to the antecedents of the concept of law in the Jürgen Habermas's work. In this first chapter we intend to work with the influence of Max Weber to Habermas and, especially, about his law's conception and legitimation forms of the juridical rules. Once the rationalization is defined and how this process affects to the law and freedom, I analyze Max Weber's concept of law and how Habermas analyzes this concept at his Theory of The Communicative Action. Using the similarities among both authors, we also introduce a first definition of the concept of legitimate law at the Habermas's work.. the Weberian theory of rationalization in other authors, and the similarities with theories like the normalization in Foucault, the reification in Lukács, the juridification in Kolhberg or the decomodification of Polanyi. I also introduce in the first chapter the eternal discussion between the relativist and the universalists authors, between the positivism and the jus- naturalism.<br/><br/>The second chapter of the doctoral thesis is dedicated to the influences of the authors of the first generation of the school of Frankfurt , György Lukács and Kohlberg to the first Habermas's concept of law. In this section of the doctoral thesis, I wanted to develop the most important influences that the theories of the authors of the Frankfurt School produced to the Habermas's project of normative philosophy The third chapter of this thesis is related to the first concept of legitimate law at the first Habermas's. work I state that it is the first concept of law because I understand that Habermas with the appearance of the Faktizität und Geltung changes his ethical theory and the procedure of law legitimating. The present work analyzes the concept of law and his legitimation form until 1992 the year of the Faktizität und Geltung publication. This chapter is ground fundamentally on three works of Habermas, exposed in a chronological way, the Theory of the Communicative Action, Theory and Praxis, and Die nachholdende Revolution The two following chapters of the doctoral thesis are dedicate to the concept of legitimate law and the legitimation procedure that appears in the work the Faktizität und Geltung. The set of both chapters intend to expose the concept of legitimate law in a complete way; the elements; Principles and characteristics that form the democratic juridical theory in Habermas in the Faktizität und Geltung. With this exposure, we highlight the different variations that the concept has suffered along the Habermas's work.<br/><br/>Once we have analyzed the concept of legitimate law at the Habermas's work, the legitimation procedures and the different variations that it has suffered along his work, we dedicate the last chapter of the doctoral work making a complementation among the theory of Bruce Ackerman and the work of Habermas. </i>

Le déterminisme génétique du sexe nécessite souvent l’évolution d’une région non-recombinante (NR) formant ainsi paire de chromosomes sexuels. Bien que la reproduction sexuée ait une origine commune à tous les eucaryotes, l’évolution des chromosomes sexuels s’est quant à elle effectuée de manière répétée et indépendante. Les chromosomes du sexe ont été particulièrement étudiés dans les systèmes diploïdes (chromosomes sexuels XY et ZW) des plantes et animaux. Le récent séquençage du génome d’Ectocarpus, modèle d’étude des algues brunes, donne non seulement une chance unique d’analyser les chromosomes sexuels dans un groupe phylogénétiquement distant des opisthocontes et de la lignée verte ; mais il donne aussi l’opportunité d’examiner un système haploïde de chromosomes sexuels (système UV). Chez Ectocarpus l’expression du sexe a lieu pendant la phase haploïde du cycle de vie, avec les chromosomes U et V, respectivement spécifiques aux femelles et aux mâles. L’analyse des chromosomes sexuels chez Ectocarpus a montré que la taille de la région NR est restée modeste pour un système vieux de plus de 70 millions d’années. Une analyse des dimorphismes sexuels a été effectuée ainsi que l’étude comparative des transcriptomes mâle et femelle d’Ectocarpus. Le développement parthénogénétique est, dans certaines populations d’Ectocarpus, un dimorphisme sexuel. Le lien génétique entre parthénogenèse et sexe a été analysé et suggère qu’un locus contrôlant la parthénogenèse est localisé au niveau de la partie recombinante du chromosome sexuel d’Ectocarpus. De plus, une analyse de fitness indique que le locus de la parthénogenèse est soumis à une sélection antagoniste entre les deux sexes<br>Genetic sex determination is usually controlled by sex chromosomes carrying a non-recombining sex-determining region (SDR). Despite the common origin of sex (meiosis) in Eukaryotes, the evolution of sex chromosomes has evolved repeatedly and independently. Our knowledge in sex chromosomes comes mainly from the analysis of diploid systems (XY and ZW sex chromosomes) in animals and land plants. However the recent genome sequencing of the brown alga Ectocarpus, not only opens up the possibility of studying sex chromosomes in a phylogenetic distant group but also of analysing a haploid sex chromosome system (UV sex chromosomes). Indeed in Ectocarpus sex is expressed during the haploid phase of the life cycle, where U and V sex chromosomes are restricted to female and male, respectively. The Ectocarpus sex chromosomes have some unusual evolutionary features such as the size of the non-recombining region, which is surprisingly small for a 70 million year old system. Also the evolutionary aspect of sexual dimorphism was studied by analyzing male and female transcriptomes and by identifying several subtle sexual dimorphic traits. Parthenogenetic capacity is a sexual dimorphic trait in some populations of Ectocarpus. The genetic link between parthenogenesis and sex was analysed and a locus that controls parthenogenetic was located to the Ectocarpus sex chromosome, in the recombining pseudoautosomal region. Fitness analysis strongly suggested that the parthenogenetic locus is a sexual antagonistic locus

A presente dissertação se ocupa em analisar a relevância da melhor técnica legislativa, para a formulação e efetivação de políticas públicas, dentro de nossa contemporaneidade democrática. Nesse aspecto, um instrumento recente aparece no cenário político e jurídico: a Legística. Em linhas gerais, a Legística sintetiza o estudo dos aspectos formal e material do texto legal, além de perquirir, à luz da ciência jurídica, se seria possível que a lei, com todas as suas características e com as garantias que visa promover, fosse instrumento apto à determinada dinâmica que permitisse adaptações de conteúdo, em face de sua aplicação no curso do tempo. E, ainda, antes mesmo da vigência do texto normativo, qual o trâmite que viabilizasse participação e técnica. Ao discorrer sobre o tema, pareceu-me mais adequado definir um foco e cercá-lo das informações relevantes, visando consolidá-lo como síntese de inúmeros processos. A lei é esse foco. O mandamento legal, na Ordem Constitucional, que fundamenta o poder estatal, e todas as influências que correm como pano de fundo, inclusive as históricas, porém, sem longas digressões. O tempo presente parece-me sintetizar, em si próprio, toda experiência acumulada e variantes decorrentes do local, da política e das ambições econômicas e, com igual relevância, dos anseios por um mundo melhor, de homens e mulheres. Penso que a presente dissertação terá cumprido seu papel, se permanecer coerente com as fontes de pesquisa, seus próprios termos, e se instigar ao leitor chegar ao seu final.<br>The present essay is concerned with analyzing the relevance of the best legislative technique for the enforcement and execution of public policies within our contemporary democracy. According to this, a recent instrument appears in the political and legal scene:Legistics. In general Legistica summarizes the study of both formal and material aspects of the legal text besides questioning with scientism - whether it was possible to the law, with all its features and with the assurances that promotes would be a capable instrument to a specific dynamic that would allow content to be adapted due to the concreteness of time. And yet, even before its term, which could be the procedure which would enable participation and technique? Discussing the topic, it seemed more appropriate to define a focus and surround it with relevant information in order to consolidate it as a synthesis of many processes. The law is this focus. The legal command in Constitutional order that underlies state power. And all the influences that run in the background, including the historical, but without long digressions. It seems to me that the present time summarizes the whole experience and variants arising from local, politics, and economic ambitions and, with equal relevance, the yearnings for a better world of men and women. I think that the present work will have fulfilled its role, if it remains consistent with its research sources, its own terms that urges the reader to get to its end.

This thesis focuses on the use of political marketing during elections to the Chamber of Deputies in Czech Republic in 2013. Aim of the thesis is both to analyze political campaigns and their impact on voters, but also what kind of influence they had on the final outcome of the election. The work is divided into a theoretical part, which describes the evolution of political marketing both in the world and in the Czech Republic. Furthermore, the analytical part, which is currently focused on the analysis of political campaigns before the elections. And lastly, the thesis contains practical part, which focuses on research of current situation and the political perception of voters and their current electoral preference.

This study examines African American stereotypes in film. I studied six directors, Kathryn Bigelow, Spike Lee, the Russo Brothers, Ryan Coogler, Tate Taylor, and Dee Rees; and six films Detroit, BlacKkKlansman, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Help, and Mudbound. Using the framework of critical race theory and auteur theory, I compared the common themes between the films and directors. The main purpose of my study is to see if White or Black directors predominantly used African American stereotypes. I found that both races of directors rely on stereotypes for different purposes. With Black directors, the stereotype was explained further through character development, while the White directors used the stereotype at face value with no further explanation.

The student select CCTV TV series as a research case and using Bormann’s fantasy theme analysis（FTA）approach analyze and compare the following research materials ,movies《 Fist of Fury》、《The Way of the Dragon》and TV series《The legend of Bruce Lee episode 15》、《The legend of Bruce Lee episode 36》. The research focus on three questions: 1.What kind of fantasy in original Bruce Lee’s movies? 2. What kind of representation Bruce Lee fantasy in CCTV TV series《The legend of Bruce Lee》? 3.Examine the rhetorical vision of 《The legend of Bruce Lee》chain out situation in China audience community. I found that through intertextuality with the past Bruce Lee’s movies, CCTV TV series《The legend of Bruce Lee》inherited the nationalism ideology fantasy in the movies just like the early cantus TV series forms in China. Through the construction process of rhetorical vision, the research discover that cantus in《The legend of Bruce Lee》reveal it’s Chinese culture hegemony ideology. The research examine 《The legend of Bruce Lee》chain out situation on internet community in China and discover that Chinese audience can recognize the ideology guidance characteristic of the TV series. And the Chinese audience evulation of 《The legend of Bruce Lee》shows dual opposition openion. Like Mary C. H.（2007）pointed out that public communication environment in internet age is different from old times, traditional communication operation from top to bottom is facing discourse dilemma. In other words, cantus rhetorical vision in China is entering consciousness sustaining stage. Different from audience intuitive observation, through the symbolic resolve process in the context the student discovered the polyphonic characteristic in Bruce Lee’s movies. Talk specifically, the leading role Chen Zhen and the script writer Ni Kuang in《 Fist of Fury》are in a respective interpretations relationship. Further, through the symbolic select and ignore process from old context to the new ones, the student found context《The legend of Bruce Lee》ignore the body meaning on real Bruce Lee .The leading role Bruce Lee in《The legend of Bruce Lee》becomes a subject who obey the cantus nationalism ideology and displayed Chinese cultural hegemony nationalism.

碩士<br>國立臺北教育大學<br>體育學系碩士班<br>97<br>Abstract The purpose of this study is to analyze the kinematic, kinetic and Achilles tendon force differences of the athletes wearing different ankle brace drop landing and treading with a single leg from heights(30cm). Eight male(The mean height, mass and age were 172.1±4.5 cm, 67.1±5.3 kg and 19.7±0.41 years) served as the subjects for this study. A Mega high-speed camera(120Hz) synchronized with AMTI force plate(1200Hz) which were used to collect biomechanical data from subject’s wearing different ankle brace landing and treading with a single leg. A Mega high-speed camera were used to record the kinematics data. Two-dimensional coordinates were derived by a video analysis system(APAS motion analysis system) to gain human kinematics parameters. The force plate (AMTI) data were converted by DASY6.0 analysis system from volt to Newton and the reaction forces expressed in multiples of bodyweight(B. W.). The inverse dynamics approach was used to integrate the body segment parameter, kinetic and force plate data, and to solve the resultant lower joints forces and torque and further calculate the lower limb joint power and Achilles tendon force. One-way ANOVA (P＜ .05) method were utilized for statistical analyses,when significant differences, use LSD to comparison,the findings were as followed: (1) Lace-up and Air stirrup Group was significantly less than barefoot group on maximum angular displacement of ankle joint during landing (P <.05), showed these two brace group have the effect of limiting degree of the joint. The loading (vertical ground reaction force peak / peak time) Lace-up = 19.1 BW / s, Air stirrup= 18.3 BW / s bigger than barefoot group =17.5 BW / s . (2) In landing and treading phase, the three lower extremity net joints peak torque and peak power value don’t attained significant different (P>.05), but the ankle joint torque is biggest, the hip joint next , the knee joint is smallest. (3) The extensors at hip and ankle joint work actively during landing phase and treading phase, but the contractors at knee joint work actively .The contracture of muscle state and the energy transfer way are the same in different groups. (4) The barefoot group in lower extremity length variation is bigger than the Lace-up group (P<.05). The lace-up group lower extremity stiffness and ankle joint stiffness both are bigger than the barefoot group(P<.05). (5) There were no significant increases in Achilles tendon force and the time to peak(P>.05). (6) The center of pressure displacement in the lace-up group is bigger than other two groups. It is demonstrated human balance ability decreases when wearing the Lace-up ankle brace . The findings were as followed: when athletes wearing different ankle brace drop landing and treading with a single leg, Lace-up and Air stirrup these two kind of ankle braces have the limit joint activity effect in landing phase,but also decrease landing ground impulse ability. Lace-up and Air stirrup these two groups in vertical ground reacting force and landing lording are bigger than barefoot group. The Lace-up group’s center of pressure displacement quantity is bigger than other two groups,therefore its balance ability is also bad, therefore suggested the athlete when wearing ankle braces sports should inquire specialized doctor and the protection suggestion avoids injury.
