Target precise positioning by vision system is one of key techniques in robot vision system. In target positioning and selection with robot vision technique, the camera lens distortion must be calibrated. In this paper, a calibration method based on segment slope is used to calibrate the camera and the radial lens distortion coefficient is obtained. The distortion coefficient is used in calculating target position coordinates, and the robot end-exceutor is led to position the target with the use of the coordinates. In this master thesis a visual odometry system is implemented and explained. Visual odometry is a technique, which could be used on autonomous vehicles to determine its current position and is preferably used indoors when GPS is notworking. The only input to the system are the images from a stereo camera and the output is the current location given in relative position. AbstractResearcher positionality has gained increased attention in recent years, and music education is following suit. Carrying out research that addresses diversity in music education demands a high level of reflexivity and a problematising of one’s own position as researcher. This chapter offers critical insights into the complexity of such a positioning and how research practices might reflect, confirm and/or disrupt the existing ‘body politic’ that our bodies signify. Researcher positionality is here examined in terms of pregnancy within a research project based at an asylum seeker accommodation centre. Applying a Butlerian lens to the examination, the chapter uncovers how the researcher’s pregnant body was ‘performed’ and became the main focus of ‘recognition’ amongst the people encountered at the centre. These processes of ‘performing’ and being ‘recognised’ as a ‘pregnant researcher’ manifested in various ways such as gaining access, credibility, trust, relationships, ethical considerations and power. Thus, the chapter opens a space to reflect critically on researcher positionality and specifically its influence on the research process in sites that seek to understand diversity in music education.

AbstractThis chapter gives an overview of the different conservative therapeutic strategies that are mostly used in the rehabilitation of patients with severe scars after burn injury. These strategies include pressure therapy, the use of silicones, massage, the use of moisturizers, splinting and positioning, exercise, and mobilizations. Pressure and silicone therapy are the two most evidence-supported conservative treatments of (burn) scars, with compression therapy considered an evidence-based conservative intervention to treat the thickness of the scars. The other noninvasive treatment modalities have less supporting evidence. Championing various forms of literary automatism and appropriation, which are often treated as a much-needed response to our contemporary digital environment, the book is offered as a counter-model to established notions of authentic, self-expressive writing. The article takes this position as a springboard into thinking about Goldsmith’s writing exercises in relation to a longer history of indexical artistic practices, most notably analog photography. Despite its own positioning vis-à-vis the digital, I claim, Goldsmith’s writing model can best be understood as an extension of a proto-photographic logic into the ambit of contemporary literature. At the same time, as I show, the use of textual reproduction central to his project has been a longstanding ingredient of self-expressive literary advice. I conclude by arguing that Goldsmith’s model is just as tied to a form of personal expression, albeit one following a less obviously self-expressive logic that resonates with online forms of indexical performativity.

AbstractThe ‘world-class university’ has become a trope of two rivalrous perspectives. On the one hand, it is used by cross-national and national organizations and institutions (and their leaders) to promote global positioning and achievement. On the other hand, it is deployed as a target of critique by scholars, it being observed that the term – ‘world-class university’ – presses interests, of cognitive capitalism, institutional entrepreneurialism and hierarchy amongst universities. Much less evident in these rivalrous discourses is an attempt to derive a way of holding onto the term – ‘world-class university’ – that retains links with core values of the university itself, such as those of reason, inquiry, understanding, and learning. I wish to use my chapter to mount such an inquiry and to do so by deploying an ecological approach. The university is interconnected with the world in manifold ways, through multiple ecosystems, but those ecosystems –such as those of knowledge, learning, social institutions, persons, the economy, culture and the natural environment – are impaired. Accordingly, could it not be suggested that a ‘world-class university’ would be one that draws on its resources in advancing the wellbeing of the major ecosystems of the world? Such a university would be a university in a class-of-and-for-the-world.

AbstractThe DataBio’s agriculture pilots were carried out through a multi-actor whole-farm management approach using information technology, satellite positioning and remote sensing data as well as Internet of Things technology. The goal was to optimize the returns on inputs while reducing environmental impacts and streamlining the CAP monitoring. Novel knowledge was delivered for a more sustainable agriculture in line with the FAO call to achieve global food security and eliminate malnutrition for the more than nine billion people by 2050. The findings from the pilots shed light on the potential of digital agriculture to solve Europe’s concern of the declining workforce in the farming industry as the implemented technologies would help run farms with less workforce and manual labor. The pilot applications of big data technologies included autonomous machinery, mapping of yield, variable rate of applying agricultural inputs, input optimization, crop performance and in-season yields prediction as well as the genomic prediction and selection method allowing to cut cost and duration of cultivar development. The pilots showed their potential to transform agriculture, and the improved predictive analytics is expected to play a fundamental role in the production environment. As AI models are retrained with more data, the decision support systems become more accurate and serve the farmer better, leading to faster adoption. Adoption is further stimulated by cooperation between farmers to share investment costs and technological platforms allowing farmers to benchmark among themselves and across cropping season.

Abstract A hemispherical silicon solid immersion lens (SIL) was used to improve the spatial resolution of front-side thermal IR imaging in lock-in mode. The bottom of the SIL was coneshaped to reduce the footprint of the SIL to the size of the imaged region.
