Abstract:
A Bryophyte genus Lazarenkoa Ignatov & Ignatova (2019:227), family Leskeaceae Schimp.(1856:109) was described by Ignatov et al. (2019) on the basis of recent morphological and molecular results obtained by the plant species collected from region Primorsky Territory of Russia. Currently, genus Lazarenkoa Ignatov & Ignatova is monotypic having single species Lazarenkoa microphylla Ignatov & Ignatova (2019:227) and endemic to Russia. Unfortunately, this newly described Bryophyte genus Lazarenkoa Ignatov & Ignatova is a later homonym of Ukrainian Ascomycetes fungi genus Lazarenkoa

This study reports the diversity of bryophytes of Berinag (Dist. Pithoragarh), Uttarakhand (India). In the investigation, a total of 33 species were reported, out of which eight were liverworts and 25 were mosses. Majority of the taxa were terricolous and corticolous. Liverwort species belonged to six genera of five families and two orders whereas mosses belonged to 24 genera of 17 families and eight orders. Out of the 10 orders dealt in the present work, Hypnales was the largest consisting of seven families, nine genera, and nine species followed by Dicranales and Marchantiales both consistin

Abstract Moss peristome hygroscopic movement plays an important role in protecting and controlling spore release. Recent studies on the peristome's hygroscopic movement and spore release have focused on mosses with "perfect" peristomes, such as Brachytheciaceae, whereas the hygroscopic movement type and spore release pattern of "specialized" peristomes, such as Regmatodon declinatus, are poorly understood. We investigated the relationship between the peristome's hygroscopic movement and spore release in the "specialized" peristome of R. declinatus by the measurement of peristome hygroscopic mo
