This diploma thesis describes the reconstruction of the operation parts in the international airport in Brno and proposal of a new arrivals hall. The diploma thesis also shows the specific management of the airport, connection with the existing concourse and design of an appropriate concept of addition of new buildings with currently missing services. The reconstruction deals with the insufficient capacity of the arrivals hall and current bad technical conditions and its inconvenient capacity of arrivals and departures. In this concept, the airport capacity is doubled, up to 2 000 000 passengers per year. This concept, based on axial and mutual synergy of building parts, contains a design of two objects, the central part with public services (clearance, waiting hall, restaurant, control tower, areas for rent, arrivals and departures support), and arrivals hall (inspection, luggage clearance hall). The diploma project is developed in the range of a study. It is based on a previous urban study of the airport in connection to following-up the development of neighboring towns and surrounding area.

The height of the building in highest point is 15 m. The object has rectangular ground floor plan with proportions of 80 x 40 m. For selected option the check of joints and anchorage is performed as well as the design drawings. The object was designed according to currently valid standarts to the ultimate limit states and serviceability limit states.

The aim of this thesis is to improve functionality and revive the sports airport Medlánky in place of the existing airport. The proposal uses the existing sport airport complex. The concept was inspired by the shape and design of airplane wings. Therefore it is so uniquely connected to the dynamic appearance of the airport, the air traffic and thus forming a unified whole, which does not disturb the landscape. To improve the operation and upgrade the airport, it was necessary to analyze and find trouble spots first, to solve them and possibly supplement by operating buildings, or change their form and function. For this reason, the main and secondary routes were established as well as private and public zones and last but not least, parking and resting areas.

Main topic of this Masters Thesis is design of railway station for high speed line railway. Building site is situated in East Moravian region in the district of Brno-Tuřany. The building is designed as a detached two-storey object standing on the bridge over the railway. Mass of the building consists of two trimmed blocks which are mutually mirrored. The mass of both parts of the building is pervaded by illuminating stripe. Its shape is also based on the shape of trimmed block and rises over the surrounding surfaces. There are placed vertical paths in the stripes. It helps passengers in orientation because these are visible even from the outside of the building. This arrangement of individual masses symbolizes both direction of the arrival of trains to the station. There is placed arrival and departure hall in the middle of the object. Its height is similar to the height of the object itself. The hall is surrounded by the service facilities of the railway station situated on two floors. The supporting structure is made of steel. Both peripheral housing and roof are supported by the frame construction consisting of planar lattice beams. Construction of the façade is composed of frame system Wicona. The peripheral housing is tiled with panels of expanded metal.

High-speed corridor is the future of travellibg. Many Eauropian states have begun with building it a few years ago and it works well. The Czech Republic still does not have this form of transport, but due to the location it will be necessary to build high quality railways even here for the future connection across Europe. This thesis deals with the construction of high-speed train stop (the HST) nearby the airport Brno Turany. The service follows the previous semestral work - Brno main railway station. The HST station building is drafted as a bridge over the rail and the platforms, it works not only as a check-in and waiting area but also like a pedestrian crossing over the corridor. The solid responds to the airport nearby and used bridge construction to smartly takes roof up. Public parts are at ground level, technical background and maintenance are located along the platforms below the ground level.

It was designed station building with platforms and four tracks. Two of them are passable and the other two are stationary. Rails leads below ground level. Above the rails is rail station that connect both areas next the rail corridor. Railway station serves primarily to transfer between rail and air transport.

This master´s thesis deals with RNAV-1 departure routes for runway 03C at the Kunovice airport. Suggested routes are linked to the new RNAV-1 routes in TMA Brno. RNAV SID maps and construction of one of the departure track are also done and described in this master´s thesis. Beyond design of RNAV-1 routes are also analyzed influences and factors in the master´s thesis that affect the construction of these routes. Construction of RNAV SID routes are based on the knowledge and shortcomings conventional routes that are resulted from the analysis of the current departure routes at the Kunovice airport. In the second part of the thesis is submitted 3 variants of departure routes for Kunovice airport.

The theme of Master thesis is a Gallery of aviation technology and traditions of aviation at the airport Gallery aviation technology and traditions of aviation at the airport Medlánky in Brno. The project insludes overall operation of the sports airport, then deal in detail operations of the museum and related services within the airport. The new campus will humbly entered in the countryside, in an attractive location Medláneckých hills creates another attractive feature and despite the complex operation and movement techniques does not create a barrier to the contrary territory it unites and is a natural center. Airports Medlanky was founded already in the twenties of the last century, and since then the area is relatively non-conceptually grew by more hangars and various outbuildings. Of these, only two were preserved original wooden sheds, which adds yet another new administrative and ceremonial buildings. Operational buildings set limits on technology, the new representative building it closes, and defining a space for people, nature trail connects the area, offers wonderful views and creates a public space that makes passers airport. The whole area is oriented to the back area and opens onto the landscape, wide area thus presents an iconic silhouette reperzentační building. The curve of the building provides space aircraft-makers to fly and allows collision-free movement of people and equipment around the airport and also generates a dignified space for aircraft to fly longer will. Exposure air museum at the second floor of the building and the visitor thus rises to individual gliders that levitate in space, the sun's rays make their reflections on the polished bonnets and backgrounds are vivid airports and skies. The thesis design called Gallery of aviation tecnology and traditions of aviation at the airport Medlanky in Brno is engaged the future developement othe airport complex. Traditional wooden hangars are complemented with new buildings, the Gallery of aviation technology, the Faculty of Mechanical engineering department and Snackbar replacing U Krive vrtule pub. All these buildings are public in relation with operational part. All three buildings are wooden structures combined with glass facade directed to runway. Buildings are based on low energy consumption. The Pub and VUT department are inspired by the original hangars with gabled roof. The gallery is different. The building is a large-span hall whose structure is composed of glued wooden stiffened ribs. Design provides enough space for exhibits.

Sport Airport complex Brno-Medlánky is nestled in the undulating hilly terrain in fields just beyond populated areas in Brno-Medlánky. The history of the airport dates back to 1924 when it was built the first wooden hangar for training purposes glider flights. Current state urban of airport is orderless. The aim is to streamline the complex and give it the order, allowing easy and efficient orientation in the space. The main intervention was the creation of a new central building - Aviation Museum. The concept of the design is based on the division of the whole area into two branches - communication axes, based on the mass preserved historic wooden hangars. Between the two communication arms is inserted a central axis on which is located the heart of the complex - Aviation Museum. It is a building organic form, inspiring axially symmetric wingspan (bird, airplane, beetle). It is this symmetry axis of the building creates a view towards building on the runway. Mass of the building used by the sloping terrain and is partially sunk under the ground. Building volume follows an upward slope from the outside and blends with the surrounding terrain. The internal layout consists of three floors, one of them is completely sunk below ground level and second half. The main entrance to the gallery is located in the uppermost floors, the direction of the exhibition is therefore directed downwards into the basement. The exposition is divided into six parts: RC models exposure, gliders exposure, powered aircraft exposure, screening room, children's exposure and air trainers. Other areas consist of building technical facilities. In the basement there is a workshop with aircraft lift, with the possibility of placement unexposed aircrafts. The supporting system of the building consists of two parts: reinforced concrete tubs and arched steel structure with a span of 50m.

This thesis describes design gallery of aviation technology and traditions at the airport in Brno Part of my thesis is focused on urban solution of area layout its interconnections with near districts “Komín“ and “Medlánky“. There is new pedestrian, cycling paths, operational and logistic roads inside the complex layout. This design supposed to keep the two existing historic hangars and demolishing remaining buildings with subsequent completion of necessary objects. Priority and the main idea is to keep compositional and visual axis to ensure visual contact with all airport operational parts to ease of orientation. According to this principle is mass and platform solved with object “gallery”. This object in addition to the exhibition space is also used for administration and operation department of the gallery. In separate part there is ensured catering in form of restaurant with associated technical, operational and sanitary facilities. The gallery is designed to visually and physically separate section used by pilots and airport vehicles from visitors to avoid dangerous situation. Other buildings I have designed in my project are “the clubhouse”, airport administration, emergency accommodation, social activity space mainly designed for aircraft-model pilots and the air traffic control tower. These objects creates border between premises restricted for aero club and visitors.

The subject of my thesis is the project of Gallery aviation technology and traditions of aviation at the airport Medlánky in Brno. The project also includes urban solution of area airport in Medlánky and linking urban areas Medlánky and Komín by newly designed roads and walking paths. The area of airport consists of the two historic hangars and newly designed buildings for the servise and maintenance of aircraft, for the laboratories and the test room of aviation technology, from the control tower and the gallery aviation technology, in which there is also bistro-cafe. The building with gallery aviation technology formed a compact space for visitors with the other buildings, but at the same time the building is separated from the private area, where the planes are moving freely. In the building with gallery, there are besides the exhibition space designed also the bistro-cafe, areas for management and operation of gallery, technical and sanitary facilities, restoration workshop of historic aircraft, conference halls, meeting and training rooms, clubhouse and accommodation. The building serves as a curtural - public building, wheelchair accessible is available throughout the object.

Area of the airport Medlánky is situated on the border of city districts Brno-Medlánky and Brno-Komín near the nature reserve "Medlánecké kopce". The designed gallery of aviation is a two-storey building, which consists of three parts. The main part is the exhibition space for airplanes, which is formed of a single-storey long-span hall, with the two-storey entrance part of the complex of buildings connected to it, in which are situated the area of the entrance, the training center (detached workplace of the institute of aviation FS BUT in Brno) and the administration. In the building of the original hangar, which is located along the street Turistická are located restaurants and aeroclub. Exhibition hall of the building of the gallery is formed by the structural system of the arched wooden glulam beams. The load-bearing wooden structures are visible and form the elements of the interior of the exhibition space. Two-storey extention of the entrance part of the building is structurally designed as a skeleton wooden structure. The material exception is the area of the entrance, which is made of monolithic concrete.

The main subject of the diploma project was to create architecture study for new building of a Gallery for sport aircrafts and their traditions and other equipment that cooperate with this topic. The Gallery is designed in Brno´s Medlanky municipality and it is incorporated on current local sport airport. This project was preceded by studio project on the same area, which included reconstruction and development of this airport area. In this diploma project I was trying to continue with this development and establish a design which would react to my earlier design. The site has a sloped character and it separated from a dense city area. Starting point for the design was to gently touch the landscape and also trying to find certain references directly in the closest surrounding. From the views to surrounding was created the idea to preserve the horizontal lines and with a landscape and constructions demands was created the main idea to continue with the landscape over the spatial structure. The need to cover large-scale exhibit items like aircrafts and other items from this topic led to a starting point of my design. The structure is formed as a spatial truss structure and dominates the exhibition space. Building is connected by program and structure to services and other areas like conference hall, coffee, study room, work room and administration. As a one building it teems mainly from arrival at the airport area when the roofing is an organic, monolithic surface disappearing in surrounding. But gallery itself emerges from the ground and opens towards the aircraft take off and departure area where it is also direction of a main view to the surrounding. The building is also unique for its entering, such as the main entrance through narrow staircase gap in the roof. This entrance should evoke to people an aircraft landing, where while descent plane dive in to the clouds and appear underneath above a whole new landscape.
