Abstract:
During the last 40 years New Testament scholarship did not apply the term “apostolic letter” consistently. All early Christian letters and only the New Testament or Pauline respectively Deutero-Pauline letters were called “apostolic letters” by New Testament scholars. Since the term from the sources ἀπόστολος in the undisputed Pauline letters refers to Paul’s function as founder of early Christian communities but not to his function as their leader, New Testament scholars should avoid the misleading term “apostolic letter.” Within the corpus of New Testament letters one should rather differentiate between “kerygmatic letters,” “pseudepigraphic Pauline letters” and “early Christian Diaspora letters.”

Abstract:
This article is carried out within a scientific project supported by the “Zhivaya traditsiya” (Traditioviva) Development Fund and dedicated to a detailed theological and philological analysis and commentary on the translation of the Letter to the Grand Duchess Christina of Lorraine (1615), which is part of the series of “Copernican Letters” by Galileo Galilei. It was in these letters (besides the letter to Christina, there are also a letter to Benedetto Castelli of 1613 and two letters to Piero Dini of 1615) that Galileo formulated the principles of a new scientific method of understanding the world, referring to the discoveries of Nicolaus Copernicus. In the letter to Christina, the most striking and important of this series and still not translated into Russian, Galileo expounds in particular detail, consistently and fully his position as a natural scientist, parrying reproaches for the incompatibility of his scientific conclusions with the Holy Bible. But Galileo is not only a scientist, theologian and philosopher. He is also known as a man of letters, a writer, a representative of baroque literature and the founder of the scientific style in the Italian language, which deserves special attention. In the Letter to Christina, one can note the characteristic features of Galileo’s scientific style: simplicity of terminology, metaphorical scientific descriptions, emotionality, complex syntax, aggravated by multitiered subordinate clauses, homogeneous subordinate clauses, wide use of gerunds.

Abstract:
Using the philosophical lenses of revisionist ontology and the politics of personhood, this paper explores the notion of Black Founders of the United States. I introduce the concept critical intellectual agency to argue that Black Founders brought unique contributions to the American experience. Their efforts were twofold. First, Black Founders established separate Black institutions that would become staples in Black communities after emancipation. Second, Black Founders challenged the supposed egalitarian beliefs of White Founders through media outlets. To illustrate, I focus on one Black Founder, Benjamin Banneker and his letter to Thomas Jefferson to illustrate how Black Founders philosophically responded and challenged White Founders prejudicial beliefs about Blackness. This paper seeks to challenge social studies teachers’ curricular and pedagogical approaches to Black Americans during the colonial period by providing a heuristics and language to explore the voices of Black Americans in U.S. history.

Abstract:
A previously unpublished selection of letters by Walter Gropius to his daughter, Manon, reveals a personal side of the architect and Bauhaus founder. In Walter Gropius: Letters to an Angel, 1927––35, James Reidel chronicles a decisive period in Gropius's life, from his last months at the Bauhaus until his move to England. At the center of the letters is the architect's quest for a closer relationship with his daughter, whom he rarely saw following his 1920 divorce from her mother, Alma Mahler-Werfel. However, the correspondence also offers rare insights into Gropius's political, social, and religious views, and it highlights those professional activities that he deemed worthy of his daughter's attention——housing, C.I.A.M., theater, and automobile design. Gropius's last letter was written shortly before Manon died from the complications of polio.

Abstract:
The initial wealth of foundation establishment as outlined in thedeed made by a notary must be written in the form of money accompanied by a statement of separation of assets of the founder and the preparation of the statement of separation of assets is the founder's obligation so that the founder has a commitment not to interfere in the assets of the foundation, but this becomes a dilemma when the founder does not have enough money to be deposited into the Foundation's treasury as the initial wealth, especially for operations, purchase of inventory and renovation of buildings. The initial wealth of the establishment by using a statement letter of separation of personal assets of the founder of the foundation by valuing the asset with money and the fastest solution is to get ad funds. is in debt to a bank with land and buildings as collateral that is tied to a Mortgage guarantee institution, asset ownership that has not been renamed to the name of the foundation, it’s a problems if the founder does’nt have good intentions to pay off the debt to the bank or hand over the assets. after it is paid off to the Foundation, therefore the Foundation should immediately ask a notary to not only make a deed of establishment of the Foundation but also make a deed of agreement on the transfer of rights either as a grant or waqf along with a deed of power to reverse the name on behalf of the foundation.

George Sarton, often regarded as the founder of the discipline of the history of science, appears to have first seen Notes and Records of the Royal Society in 1942. His letter of acknowledgement to A. V. Hill conveys both his pleasure at the publication (which the Royal Society had launched in 1938) and his frustration in trying to persuade scientists and ‘humanists’ of the value of his work. The letter also records Sarton's sadness at the death of his Harvard colleague L. J. Henderson, a fellow-worker in his campaign to ‘humanize science’.

Abstract:
The biography of a remarkable woman Maria Alekseyevna Postnikova (Alexandrova), a well-known founder of the system of education in Central Russia and the first head of Ryazan Teachers’ Institute, still contains a lot of uninvestigated facts. Five officers and two educators descended from a distinguished noble family of Postnikov. The analyzed epistolary evidence enables the author to identify the circle of Maria Alekseyevna’s good acquaintances acquired at soirees held by the Platonovs on Wednesdays, at meetings of Forsten’s study group, through her teaching activities at Higher Women’s Courses (aka the Bestuzhev’s Courses), at the Teachers’ Institute and in the Archaeographic Commission. Historiography of the investigated issue is continually widening. M. A. Postnikova’s letters addressed to S. F. Platonov, an outstanding founder of the system of education in Russia, M. A. Postnikova’s research supervisor, a person responsible for M. A. Postnikova’s appointment to Ryazan, are especially valuable. The article analyzes previously uninvestigated letters addressed by M. A. Postnikova to S. F. Platonov. The analysis of A. E. Presnyakov’s letters enables the author to identify the beginning of Postnikova’s research activities. The article analyzes a previously unknown letter addressed by M. A. Postnikova to Alexander Evgenyevich Presnyakov, S. F. Platonov’s most famous student. Abstract:
This chapter talks about a collection of hagiographic stories about the Besht and his associates called the Shivhei Ha-Besht. It mentions Dov Ber of Ilintsy, the compiler, who included five citations from letters that the Ba’al Shem Tov wrote in the Shivhei Ha-Besht. The fifth quotation, unlike the other four cases, is where Dov Ber indicated that he was copying, not what someone had told him, but what he saw in a manuscript copy of the letter. The chapter points out how neither Dubnow nor Scholem presented the letter in their discussions of the Besht’s views on asceticism. Yet the letter to Jacob Joseph of Polonne provides a clear and reliable statement of the Besht’s antiasceticism.

Abstract:
This chapter describes how a surge of protest over the Vietnam War brought back the classic debate over the nature of revolution. Should change be directed at the interior, at perception and culture, or should it be directed at the exterior, at existing institutions? This debate was framed by 1966's most celebrated play, Marat/Sade. England’s leading culturalist, R. D. Laing, founder of Kingsley Hall in Swinging London, planned an event for the following year: the Congress on the Dialectics of Liberation. He invited Bateson, an old mentor, to speak. Bateson’s letter of acceptance included a scientific critique of radicalism. In the States, the experience of San Francisco Digger founder Emmett Grogan, demonstrated culturalist and structuralist strains within an emerging counterculture. In March of 1967, as the Summer of Love approached, Grogan and the Diggers disrupted a Michigan executive meeting of the Students for a Democratic Society. The event demonstrated fragmentation within a movement suddenly too large and amorphous for its purported leadership. Before leaving for London, Bateson reads Philip Wylie's The Magic Animal in light of his recent friendship with Konrad Lorenz.

Abstract:
This chapter describes the history of how Economics of Mutuality emerged as a concept in Mars. It traces its roots back to the 1940s when Forrest Mars, son of Frank, the founder of Mars, set out the mutuality of benefits in a letter on ‘the Objective of the Company’. Those objectives were framed in terms of a mutuality of services and benefits among consumers, distributors, competitors, suppliers, government, employees, and shareholders. What was striking about this was the emphasis that the company placed on the interests of parties other than the shareholders—the ‘stakeholders’ rather than the shareholders. That was the basis of the study on mutuality that Mars Catalyst, the think tank of Mars Inc., initiated in the first two decades of the twenty-first century.

Abstract:
This chapter explains how Jewish scholars tended to view the Besht, Hasidism, and the relevant sources as quintessentially internal Jewish phenomena that grew out of a genuinely and exclusively Jewish tradition. It points out how the scholars emphasized the Besht’s thought and actions without much reference to the physical, social, and economic framework within which these have taken shape. The chapter also provides evidence how Besht was not isolated. By virtue of his being a ba’al shem, the Besht had to be concerned with the personal problems of the people among whom he lived. His own letters and the traditions about him depict that Besht both as involved in issues on the public agenda and as active in helping individuals recover from illness, finance their marriages, exorcise demons, and escape from danger.

Abstract:
The psychiatrist Carl G. Jung has asserted that the “creative impulse” — the drive to solve problems — is almost an instinct on a par with hunger, sex drive, aggression and flight from danger. Unlike the instincts, however, creativity can be extinguished or can atrophy from disuse. Jung’s personality theory identifies eight “cognitive modes” which channel the creative impulse in different directions for various people. A given person’s “creative mode” — the most conscious — can be identified by the four-letter code of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI®). Of the remaining seven modes, as many as three “supporting” modes can be found by simple calculation using the four “clarity index” numbers associated with the MBTI® letters. Although these supporting modes are not the “creative” one, they back it up during problem-solving and at Stanford have been found useful for forming, organizing and analyzing student design teams.

Abstract:
English is one of the most spoken languages in the world. A global language communication is inherent in him. This language is also distinguished by a significant diversity of dialects and speech. It appeared in the early Middle Ages as the spoken language of the Anglo-Saxons. The formation of the British Empire and its expansion led to the widespread English language in Asia, Africa, North America and Australia. As a result, the Metropolitan language became the main communication language in the English colonies, and after independence it became State (USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand) and official (India, Nigeria, Singapore). Being one of the 6 Official Languages of the UN, it is studied as a foreign language in educational institutions of many countries in the modern time [1, 2, s. 12-14]. Despite the dozens of varieties of English, the American (American English) version, which appeared on the territory of the United States, is one of the most widespread. More than 80 per cent of the population in this country knows the American version of the British language as its native language. Although the American version of the British language is not defined as the official language in the US Federal Constitution, it acts with features and standards reinforced in the lexical sphere, the media and the education system. The growing political and economic power of the United States after World War II also had a significant impact on the expansion of the American version of the British language [3]. Currently, this language version has become one of the main topics of scientific research in the field of linguistics, philology and other similar spheres. It should also be emphasized that the American version of the British language paved the way for the creation of thousands of words and expressions, took its place in the general language of English and the world lexicon. “Okay”, “teenager”, “hitchhike”, “landslide” and other words can be shown in this row. The impact of differences in the life and life of colonists in the United States and Great Britain on this language was not significant either. The role of Nature, Climate, Environment and lifestyle should also be appreciated here. There is no officially confirmed language accent in the United States. However, most speakers of national media and, first of all, the CNN channel use the dialect “general American accent”. Here, the main accent of “mid Pppemestern” has been guided. It should also be noted that this accent is inherent in a very small part of the U.S. population, especially in Nebraska, Iowa, and Illinois. But now all Americans easily understand and speak about it. As for the current state of the American version of the British language, we can say that there are some hypotheses in this area. A number of researchers perceive it as an independent language, others-as an English variant. The founder of American spelling, American and British lexicographer, linguist Noah Pondebster treats him as an independent language. He also tried to justify this in his work “the American Dictionary of English” written in 1828 [4]. This position was expressed by a Scottish-born English philologist, one of the authors of the “American English Dictionary”Sir Alexander Craigie, American linguist Raven ioor McDavid Jr. and others also confirm [5]. The second is the American linguist Leonard Bloomfield, one of the creators of the descriptive direction of structural linguistics, and other American linguists Edward Sapir and Charles Francis Hockett. There is also another group of “third parties” that accept American English as a regional dialect [5, 6]. A number of researchers [2] have shown that the accent or dialect in the US on the person contains significantly less data in itself than in the UK. In Great Britain, a dialect speaker is viewed as a person with a low social environment or a low education. It is difficult to perceive this reality in the US environment. That is, a person's speech in the American version of the British language makes it difficult to express his social background. On the other hand, the American version of the British language is distinguished by its faster pace [7, 8]. One of the main characteristic features of the American language array is associated with the emphasis on a number of letters and, in particular, the pronunciation of the letter “R”. Thus, in British English words like “port”, “more”, “dinner” the letter “R” is not pronounced at all. Another trend is related to the clear pronunciation of individual syllables in American English. Unlike them, the Britons “absorb”such syllables in a number of similar words [8]. Despite all these differences, an analysis of facts and theoretical knowledge shows that the emergence and formation of the American version of the British language was not an accidental and chaotic process. The reality is that the life of the colonialists had a huge impact on American English. These processes were further deepened by the growing migration trends at the later historical stage. Thus, the language of the English-speaking migrants in America has been developed due to historical conditions, adapted to the existing living environment and new life realities. On the other hand, the formation of this independent language was also reflected in the purposeful policy of the newly formed US state. Thus, the original British words were modified and acquired a fundamentally new meaning. Another point here was that the British acharism, which had long been out of use, gained a new breath and actively entered the speech circulation in the United States. Thus, the analysis shows that the American version of the British language has specific features. It was formed and developed as a result of colonization and expansion. This development is still ongoing and is one of the languages of millions of US states and people, as well as audiences of millions of people. Keywords: American English, English, linguistics, accent.

Abstract:
Cak (ISO 639-3 ckh) represents a Tibeto-Burman language spoken in the Chittagong Hill Tracts, Bangladesh. The language is known as Sak in Rakhaing State, Burma. The total number of native speakers of the language is estimated at approximately 3,000 in Bangladesh and 1,000 in Burma (Simons and Fennig eds. 2017). Although Cak and Sak are mutually understandable where native words are concerned, comprehensibility becomes arduous with Bangla loan words in Cak, and with Arakanese/Burmese loan words in Sak. Until recently, Cak/Sak did not have a script of its own. However, by the beginning of the 21st century, the Cak script was developed and finally published as Ong Khyaing Cak (2013), in which its fundamental system is described. Although well designed overall, the current Cak writing system found in Ong Khyaing Cak (2013) has several shortcomings. Huziwara (2015) discusses the following five instances: (a) No independent letter for /v/, (b) unnecessary letters for the non-phonemic elements such as the voiced aspirated stops and the retroflexes, (c) the arbitrary use of short and long vowel signs, (d) a frequent omission of high tone marks in checked syllables, and (e) multiple ways to denote coda consonants. In this paper, Huziwara (2015) will first be reviewed. Then, the basic phonetic correspondences between Cak in Bangladesh and Sak in Burma will be examined. Finally, based on these two discussions, an orthography to be employed in the forthcoming Cak-English-Bangla-Burmese dictionary, a revised version of Huziwara (2016), will be demonstrated.

In International Psychological Applications Conference and Trends. inScience Press, 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.36315/2021inpact073.

Abstract:
"Working memory (WM) has been shown to be an important factor in visual search. For instance, there is evidence that both spatial and visual WM load lead to a decrease in search performance, resulting in a longer time to complete a search. However, the findings regarding search efficiency, i.e., search time as a function of display size, are less clear. This measure has been reported to be affected by spatial but not visual WM load. In three experiments, with approximately 20 participants each, we tested how two different types of spatial WM load affect visual search in terms of search performance and efficiency. In all experiments, participants were asked to memorize the spatial locations of two (low load) or four items (high load) presented either serially (Experiment 1) or simultaneously (Experiments 2 and 3). After that, they had to search for a target letter in a display of 5, 10 or 15 letters. In Experiment 3, participants additionally performed a verbal WM task. A control condition with no memory load (search only) was also included in each experiment. The results showed that, compared to the search-only condition, search times increased when spatial load was added. This was regardless of the type of spatial WM load. No search-time differences were found between the low and high-load condition. The additional verbal WM task had no effect on search performance. Furthermore, and in contrast to previous findings, search efficiency was not affected by either type of spatial WM load. These results suggest that visual search performance, but not search efficiency, is affected by spatial WM load."

Abstract:
In this letter we report on CulnSSe-doped glasses used as a saturable absorber for passive mode-locking of a Nd:YAG and Nd:YAlO3 lasers. Ultrashort pulses of 16 ps duration with 20 µj of energy (for YAlO3 at 1.08µm), and 36 ps duration with 45µj of energy (for YAG at 1.064µm) are achieved, respectively. The bleaching relaxation time of CuInSSe-doped glass saturable absorber is found to be ~11 ps. The optical damage threshold for CuInSSe-doped glasses estimated from the intensity dependent transmittance measurement with the use of laser pulses of 15 ps duration was ~20 GW/cm2.

Abstract:
It is well known that the semiconductor lasers, are susceptible to optical feedback from discrete interfaces or from distributed scattering such as in optical fiber medium. Feedback will affect the spectral property and the stability of the laser output. A number of dynamical behaviors, period doubling route, quasiperiodic route, and bistability, have been found[1–4]. In this letter we report the studies of routes to chaos of single mode laser diode output subjected to a variety of external cavity length. The studies of such effects are important not only for understanding of laser dynamical properties but also for applications of lasers in various systems.

Abstract:
An important component of early reading intervention is effective literacy screening tools. Literacy precursor screening tools have been primarily developed for early identification and remediation of potential reading difficulties in monolingual Englishspeaking children, despite the significant proportion of bilingual children worldwide. This systematic literature review examines whether the precursor literacy skills commonly used in monolingual English-speaking children have been assessed and found to predict later reading skills in simultaneous bilingual children. Our findings demonstrate that the nine major literacy precursors identified in monolingual children also significantly correlate with reading performance in simultaneous bilingual children. These nine literacy precursors are phonological awareness, letter knowledge, serial recall, oral language comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, memory, non-verbal intelligence and word decoding.

Abstract:
This paper presents the results of an aging assessment of the nuclear power industry’s responses to NRC Generic Letter 97-06 on the degradation of steam generator internals experienced at Electricite de France (EdF) plants in France and at a United States pressurized water reactor (PWR). Westinghouse (W), Combustion Engineering (CE), and Babcock & Wilcox (B & W) steam generator models, currently in service at U.S. nuclear power plants, potentially could experience degradation similar to that found at EdF plants and the U.S. plant. The steam generators in many of the U.S. PWRs have been replaced with steam generators with improved designs and materials. These replacement steam generators have been manufactured in the U.S. and abroad. During this assessment, each of the three owners groups (W, CE, and B&W) identified for its steam generator models all the potential internal components that are vulnerable to degradation while in service. Each owners group developed inspection and monitoring guidance and recommendations for its particular steam generator models. The Nuclear Energy Institute incorporated in NEI 97-06, “Steam Generator Program Guidelines,” a requirement to monitor secondary side steam generator components if their failure could prevent the steam generator from fulfilling its intended safety-related function. Licensees indicated that they implemented or planned to implement, as appropriate for their steam generators, their owners group recommendations to address the long-term effects of the potential degradation mechanisms associated with the steam generator internals.

Full text
Abstract:
Evasion of labor market regulations in middle income countries is systemic. This is generally known as informality. In Latin America, where less than 50% of workers are registered with social security, this is a permanent phenomenon and encompasses a variety of economic realities ranging from subsistence self-employment to evasion of certain regulations including social security contributions. In this study we analyze the role of enforcement in curbing informality in large formal firms in Peru, where informality levels are around 70%. Through the Peruvian National Labor Control Superintendence (SUNAFIL) we randomly sent 697 letters to formal Peruvian firms of more than 50 workers, indicating their obligation to enroll workers in social insurance systems (health and pensions). Two types of letters were sent, one with a deterrence message and one emphasizing the benefits of formalization. One year after the letters were sent, we found a positive and statistically significant effect on the number of workers enrolled in social security (9.8% on average). Only strict deterrence messages had a significant impact, and only in very large firms. This evidence suggests that there is room for improvement in compliance with labor regulations through more proactive monitoring and behavioral tools such as reminders, but effects could be concentrated in the largest firms.
