The analysis covers the story’s purpose, generic structure, and lexico-grammatical cohesion. The writer follows a series of structural moves and uses a variety of narrative strategies (e.g., a high level of involvement and a wide range of lexical and grammatical cohesive ties), which contribute to the creation of a well-formed text that has effectively achieved its purpose and made its

This study investigates the stylistic architecture of Elif Shafak’s The Forty Rules of Love, focusing on how linguistic features support the novel’s narrative and thematic depth. Grounded in Khan and Jabeen’s (2015) multilevel stylistic framework, the study adopts a qualitative, text-based method involving manual identification and analysis of grammatical, graphological, and lexico-semantic features. Findings reveal that Shafak’s use of syntactic variation, typographic layout, and semantic patterns enhances emotional tone, spiritual reflection, and narrative structure. These stylistic elements

In this study we compare how L2 learners of Romance languages (French, Italian), with either a Romance or a Germanic language as an L1, organize the information structure of utterances relating contrasting events.
