Abstract:
The purpose of the study is to correlate and compare the linguistic and cultural features of phraseological units with the component-zoonym in Russian, French and English. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the fact that it presents a number of specific observations and conclusions made as a result of personal analysis, combining structural, semantic and cognitive elements, conducted on a specific material. The practical value of this study is that its results can be further used to study the issues of lexicology and stylistics of the three languages.

Purpose. The goal of the present article is to analyze the original text of the tragedy “Romeo and Juliette” and its translations into the Russian and Ossetian languages to reveal Shakespeare’s metaphors for further analysis of the ways they are translated and possible problems translators might come across while translating.
