We resurveyed a network of sampling plots (n = 371) 10 years after its establishment in Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest (New Hampshire, USA) to quantify recent trends in tree biomass and demography. We found no significant change in live-tree biomass during the decade. Total biomass was 246 Mg·ha–1 (95%CI = 235–258) in 1995–1996 and 245 Mg·ha–1 (95%CI = 234–256) in 2005–2006. Annual mortality during the period for trees ≥ 10 cm diameter at breast height (1.37 m) averaged 9.7 trees·ha–1·year–1 (95% CI of annual mortality rate = 1.36%–1.84%·year–1). Le laboratoire central de pathologie animale de Bingerville (Côte-d'Ivoire) a effectué en 1990 et 1991 une évaluation de l'immunité post-vaccinale antibovipestique après les campagnes de vaccination de 1989 et de 1990, qui ont eu lieu sur tout le territoire national. Le modèle d'échantillon en grappes a été choisi pour récolter 6020 sérums sur 255 sites de prélèvements en 1990, et 3301 sérums sur 158 sites en 1991. L'analyse de ces sérums par le test ELISA a donné un taux standardisé de séropositifs de 82,39 p. 100 + ou - 0,08 en 1990 et de 88,26 p. 100 + ou - 0,06 en 1991.

The carbon star IRC +10 216 is a long-period Asymptotic Giant Branch (AGB) star suffering from strong stellar winds (several 10-5 M⊙/yr; Loup et al. 1993) which have led to an almost complete obscuration of the star by dust.
