Abstract:

Abstract:
Dede Oetomo, born in 1953, is Indonesia’s first LGBT (currently popular with LGBTQ+) activist. He uses the LGBT organisation GAYa NUSANTARA as a vehicle for LGBT to obtain safe sex education, to gain their emancipation in same-sex marriage, and to struggle anti-social and political discrimination. In this research essay, I will explain Oetomo’s struggle from his childhood to adulthood when he struggled for the LGBT emancipation in Indonesia, a Muslim-majority country. I use qualitative method to conduct the research begun with collecting primary sources like old magazines and photos from the GAYa Nusantara website. The result of the research shows that although Oetomo has had some minor success with his LGBT organisation to gain legal same-sex marriage and abolishing discrimination against LGBT, Oetomo keeps struggling to bring LGBT emancipation acknowledged in the Indonesian law.

Abstract:
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to highlight the complicated nature of safeguarding lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students. First, this paper will address the issues that LGBT students face as a minoritized group in their school system, which inhibits their opportunities to reach their full potential when it comes to emotional and academic growth. Second, this paper will be used to discuss how leadership is vital in order for school communities to help address the issues that their LGBT population face. Third, the author will make the case that a lack of leadership self-efficacy can hinder the process. Design/methodology/approach Three different research studies were used to highlight the needs of LGBT students. However, there is additional research that is used as well to illustrate the need for leadership self-efficacy to support LGBT safeguards. When it comes to LGBT research the research of GLSEN (formerly known as the Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network) was used. GLSEN’s research consisted of 7,898 students between the ages of 13 and 21. Second, data from the Every Teachers Project by the Manitoba Teachers’ Society were used which involved 3,400 teachers around Canada. Although there are certain nuances between international examples which include those LGBT students living in the dominant culture as well as within indigenous populations, the author builds the case that the harassment and bullying has a common theme and can be addressed through common methods. Additionally, qualitative doctoral research was used, which consisted of 20 interviews of school leaders from three different school districts in New York State. Lastly, for the purpose of this paper the author will use the acronym LGBT to identify those in the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. There are many acronyms (e.g. LGBTQ, LGBTI, etc.) representing the community, and only when the research use those other acronyms, will those be used to highlight subgroup populations. Findings Findings indicate that, as a minoritized population, LGBT students are highly at risk for being verbally and physically harassed at school, and go unprotected by the adults who are in charge of keeping them safe. School leadership is instrumental in the safeguarding of LGBT students. Additionally, safeguarding is not nearly enough. It is important to understand that LGBT students should not just be safeguarded, but should also be surrounded by curriculum and images that will help them feel accepted into the greater school community, which takes an increased level of self-efficacy on the part of the leader. Originality/value The topic of engaging LGBT students in the school community is sparse at best. Additionally, this paper provides the case for safeguarding and engaging LGBT students, as well as all minoritized populations, but also discusses why it is the moral purpose of leaders to do so. However, the author believes that the addition of understanding leadership actions around safeguarding LGBT students through the lens of leadership self-efficacy and building collective efficacy is an important one, and will add to the originality of this paper.

Abstract:
LGBTQ tourism is a very promising market with annual worldwide economic impact at more than 140 billion USD. The global LGBT tourism market is expected to reach US$ 568.5 Billion by 2030. The LGBT tourism market is important both economically and socially. LGBT travelers are often high-spending and frequent travelers, and their tourism dollars can have a significant impact on local economies. With the introduction of the 'pink dollar,' organizations hope to tap into members of the LGBTQ+ community who are willing to spend big. The 'pink dollar' refers to money spent by members of the LGBTQ community in the United States. It has boosted the US economy by billions of dollars. Additionally, by creating welcoming and inclusive travel experiences for LGBT individuals, the tourism industry can help promote greater acceptance and understanding of LGBT people around the world. LGBT travelers have unique needs and preferences when it comes to travel, and the tourism industry has responded with a range of products and services designed to meet these needs. These may include LGBT-friendly accommodation, events, and tours, as well as marketing and outreach efforts that specifically target the LGBT community. The purpose of this research is to study factors influencing LGBTQ’s Travel Destination Choice Decision. These factors include nine independent variables: Recommendations (RE), Popularity (PO), Destination Information (DI), Special Offers (SO), Nearness (NN), Amenities/Facilities (AF), Safety & Security (SS), Destination Features (DF), Strategic Fit (SF) and one dependent variable: Travel Behavior (TB). 400 sample were collected using electronic questionnaire through social media. We used Structural Equation Models (SEM) for data analysis. The result shows that since the RMSEA, which is an absolute fit index that assesses how far our hypothesized model is from a perfect model, for this model is .04 (<.05) which strongly indicates a “close fit” and the Goodness of Fit Index (GFI) value is .904 (>.90), the model seems to fit well according to the descriptive measures of fit. More importantly, Recommendations (RE) and Safety & Security (SS) are significantly defined as significant influential factors that affect LGBTQ’s travel destination choice decision due to their p-values are equal and less than .05. That means LGBTQ choose their travel destination if it’s strongly recommended by friends & family, online & social media, and customer positive review & sharing tips. Moreover LGBTQ prefer the destinations that offer personal safety and safe accommodation and destinations that they won’t be taken advantage of financially i.e. safe and sound destinations without being scammed.

Abstract:
The demand for a wider recognition of human rights as envisaged in many international conventions is not only directed to those living in traditional lifestyle, but also groups who are in LGBT relationships. This is reflected in many campaigns around the world for recognition and equal rights for LGBT people despite being opposed by many. Such campaigns could be seen manifested in many United Nations’ declarations and documents such as the Yogyakarta Principles. Attitudes towards the campaigns vary greatly in different cultures and countries. While some support LGBT rights, including the legal recognition of same sex marriage, adoption by same sex couple, and anti-discrimination laws, an equally widespread rejection exists in predominantly Muslim nations and in Africa, as well as in parts of Asia and Russia. Opponents in the Muslim world opined that claims made by LGBTs contradict Islamic and moral principles and norms. This article provides an insight and evaluates the intellectual arguments supporting and opposing the recognition of unlimited individual rights of LGBTs by adopting a doctrinal and qualitative analysis of the concept of LGBT and their practices.

Abstract While lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer people have always served in militaries, military organizations and leaders have managed the presence of sexual gender minorities in the ranks in complicated ways that were influenced by regulation, military culture, social and cultural norms, and perceptions of military effectiveness. The history of lgbt soldiers in modern western military history reveals important ways that various military organizations have addressed the question and challenges of open service by lgbt people. While many states have incorporated lgbt people into their organizations, it is not the case globally, and policies continue to change. The five essays in this collection explore various aspects of lgbt military history in West Germany, Australia, the Netherlands, the United States, and Israel and explore themes including the importance of comparative history; the differences between de jure and de facto integration; the effects of both regulation and culture on lgbtq inclusion; and the experience of lgbt people in uniform.

Abstract LGBT people have higher risk of life-limiting illnesses and unmet needs when facing advanced illness. The ACCESSCare research programme aims to improve health and social care for LGBT people. ACCESSCare-A explored experiences of 40 UK LGBT people facing serious illness. Discrimination, heteronormative assumptions, and insensitivity influenced whether individuals disclosed relationships to professionals and place-of-care decisions. Professionals must go beyond anti-discrimination to proactive inclusion: 10 evidence-based recommendations were developed to improve care for LGBT people. Our sister study in Zimbabwe explored the healthcare experiences of key populations (LGBTI people, sex workers). Access to healthcare was dependent on conforming to ‘sexual norms’ and care was negatively affected by professionals’ attitudes to key populations. There are two ongoing research projects in the ACCESSCare programme: ACCESSCare-B, a mixed-methods population-based comparative study of LGB and heterosexual bereavement outcomes; and ACCESSCare-C a qualitative study to develop communication guidance for professionals supporting LGBT people facing serious illness.

Abstract:
OBJECTIVES/GOALS: The objectives of this workshop were to: (1) provide learners with a space to become aware of and discuss the history of the LGBTQ+ community in medical and public health research; (2) apply frameworks for LGBTQ+ inclusivity in research, inspired by lived experience and multimedia; and (3) assess LGBTQ+ research inclusivity best practices. METHODS/STUDY POPULATION: The CTSC provided the LGBT Community Center of Greater Cleveland (Center) with access to academic resources via an affiliate account and insights on the clinical and translational science research process. Members of the CTSC Research Equity, Accessibility, Diversity, and Inclusion team met regularly with the education and programming team at the Center to review research findings for workshop segments, ideate and provide feedback on activities, and strategize to ensure a psychologically safe virtual environment for learners. Zoom registration was used for workshop registration. An evaluation survey, created by the LGBT Community Center of Greater Cleveland (Center), was deployed by the CTSC to learners after the workshop. Respondents reported that the LGBTQ+ terminology focus was most valuable. RESULTS/ANTICIPATED RESULTS: To maximize investment in and scale theLGBTQ+ Inclusivity For Researchers workshop, the LGBT Community Center of Greater Cleveland offered a shortened version to their Youth Participatory Action Research group and will continue to offer the workshop in their suite of program/educational offerings. The CTSC plans to offer opportunities to co-host the workshop at its hospital system partner institutions, with room to tailor content based on internal LGBT resources (e.g., gender care offered at the institution). We hope to see a remarkable increase in LGBTQ+ identifying researchers, LGBTQ+ participation in research studies and clinical trials, and LGBTQ+ research topics/ideas/questions in response to CTSC pilots, local, national, and global funding opportunities. DISCUSSION/SIGNIFICANCE: LGBTQ+ people are less likely to have a regular health care provider—impeding screening, diagnosis, and treatment. This is reflected in health research where clinical research participation may follow a diagnosis. By providing tools for LGBTQ+ research inclusion, we will catalyze more research with LGBTQ+ people—as researchers and participants.

Abstract:
LGBT is an acronym used to describe people from diverse sexual orientation or gender identity, people that are gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender. LGBT people do not constitute a single group nor does each individual “group” constitute a homogeneous unity. However, as higher rates of depression and/or anxiety have been observed in older LGBT people, compared to their heterosexual counterparts (Guasp, 2011) there is a need to raise the profile of mental health issues amongst these groups. The additional letter I is also often included in the acronym LGBTI as intersex people are often included as another gender diverse group. However, there is very little research that includes intersex people and none on older intersex people's mental health so this editorial is restricted to consideration of older LGBT people.

Abstract:
LGBT describes those who are drawn to other LGBT individuals. These individuals identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender. In India, homosexuality is nothing new. India is regarded as a nation that embraces and accepts all cultures and customs. However, Indian society is still conservative when it comes to tolerating homosexuality in the general population, and despite the fact that the LGBT community is widely accepted around the world, we still do not wish to embrace LGBT individuals in our ostensibly modern society. In India, sexual minorities are frequently the targets of hate crimes. They are taken advantage of verbally, physically, and sexually since they are easy prey. In order to better understand the LGBTQ community and treat them with respect and dignity rather than labelling them, this study presents a brief summary of the LGBTQ community as well as other glossaries and words of the same group. This review demonstrates social problems like stigma and discrimination, which are still widespread in our Indian society even after the passage of Act 377. It also demonstrates how stigma and discrimination cause mental health problems in people, which in turn lead to suicide because of the severity of their mental health issues.

Abstract:
The survey aimed to investigate targeted bullying in public schools in inland China and to gain an overview of the negative school issues faced by lgbtq+ students in schools. Campus bullying is a vicious negative behavior on campus, and today, it is also a huge hidden danger and problem affecting society and even adolescents' mental health. Additionally, studies have demonstrated that lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) students tend to experience more mental health challenges than their heterosexual and gender-conforming peers, with increased suicide attempts, lower self-esteem, and higher rates of depression. National studies have revealed that college students often possess negative and conservative views towards LGBT groups, leading to social stigma, discrimination, and violence for homosexuals, accompanied by varying degrees of emotional disorders, substance dependence, suicide, and other issues. LGBT students face a higher prevalence of homophobic bullying in schools compared to their heterosexual counterparts. Homophobia refers to a negative belief, attitude, stereotype, and behavior towards the LGBT community, which directly influences the bullying of LGBT students on campus, i.e., homophobic bullying. Bullying is a form of repeated aggression by powerful individuals against vulnerable individuals, affecting the physical and mental health of children and adolescents.

Abstract:

Abstract The difficulty respecting and recognizing the countless forms of the exercise of sexuality and also the different forms of new family compositions, of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transvestite and Transgender (LGBT) public by the health system, led the federal government to implement the document National Policy for Integral Health for Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transvestites and Transsexuals. After this public action, it is believed that this specific population perceives changes in the health care provided. Thus, the objective of the article was to identify the perception of the LGBT population regarding the care they receive by health professionals and whether they are concerned with their self-care. To this end, a quantitative approach was used, with the questionnaires application to LGBT people. Data collection was carried out online at the LGBT NGO and social networks, totaling 61 respondents. For data analysis, descriptive statistics were performed, as well as the Variance Analysis test. The results pointed out that the LGBT population is concerned with their self-care and always seek to be informed about their health. It is said that professionals have knowledge in care, but need to improve themselves. It is concluded that health professionals need training to be able to work with the LGBT population, to provide them with good care. Keywords: LGBT people. Health Services. Gender Identity.

Objective: In this workshop we will address common issues in psychotherapy with LGBT patients: how it is to be in the closet, to come out of the closet -coming out, sexual identity and social stigma. Special attention is paid to self-disclosure of the therapist, yes/no or if... and to the subject of transference and countertransference. Colleagues will learn about: –– the difference between sexual orientation and sexual identity –– coping strategies of LGBTs –– dissociation as a psychological mechanism and its function in hiding a homosexual identity –– the perspective of self disclosure of the sexual identity of the therapist Design and Method: After a 15 minute oral presentation about LGBT specific issues in psychotherapy we will, in the next 60 minutes, discuss our clinical practice of working with LGBT patients. For this purpose members of the audience, our colleagues, are invited to present their clinical cases, so called vignettes. Results: Both the oral presentation about gender and sexual diversity as the clinical discussion amongst colleagues attribute to a better understanding of treating our gender- and sexual minority patients Conclusions: Gender and sexual minority patient characteristics and their health issues vary and differ from heterosexual patients.

Abstract:
Dadaism is an art form which was always used to challenge conventional norms of our society. It has the power of attempting transformation through the strokes of colors on canvases. The controversial messages were passed through the common people through the artwork by Dadaists. Even today there are controversial issues like LGBTQ+ acceptance which cannot be discussed openly in the heteronormative society in the Indian context. The Dadaist art form is a powerful tool in such a case where one can express their beliefs through the medium of art. Teachers can be catalysts in bringing change in society through this medium of art. They need to be trained in using Dadaist poetry form for breaking their own prejudices & for using it as a reflective tool. It aimed to bring LGBT awareness by expressing voices of the most marginalized community i.e. the LGBTQ+ community. The teacher education colleges need to take a lead to train the pre-service teachers to use Dadaist poetry for reflecting their own perspectives, their beliefs on the LGBTQ+ community. The present study employed a qualitative study using one shot case study where poetic inquiry helped to explore the beliefs and feelings of pre-service teachers towards the LGBT community. The findings of the study helped to identify the strength of Dadaist poetry in drawing out the ability of cognitive perspective taking as well as empathetic concern of a pre-service teacher towards the LGBTQ+ community. The study also helped to discover the potential of this art form in directing the pre-service teachers on the path of the social justice for the LGBT community.

Abstract:
In the US, lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) individuals report higher rates of depression compared with heterosexual and cisgender persons. To date, little is known about the mental health of LGBT adults in Thailand. Here, we examined rates and correlates of depression among a volunteer sample of Thai LGBTs. Data were collected as part of a larger cross-sectional survey study. Standardized measures of sexual orientation and gender identity, stress, coping style, and minority stressors were completed. Of the 411 participants, 40.3% met the criteria for depression. In multivariate analyses, the combined influences of sociodemographic factors, general stress, coping strategies, and minority-specific stress variables explained 47.2% of the variance in depression scores (F[16,367]= 20.48, p<.001). Correlates of depression included coping strategies and minority-specific stressors, including experiences of victimization, discrimination, and level of identity concealment. Study findings have implications for psychiatric nursing practice and the development of intervention research. Abstract:
Hearing young voices is of paramount importance, particularly as some voices are seldom-heard, including those of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT+) youth. Recent research highlighting mental health disparities for these populations led to the formation of the Irish LGBTI+ National Youth Strategy, which prioritized youth participation through a Youth Advisory Group (YAG). A policy analysis of the initiation of the Strategy outlines the convergence of problems, policies and politics using a Multiple Streams Approach (MSA), with quantitative literature suggesting substantial vulnerabilities. This is enhanced through qualitative exploration of the views of six youth co-authors, with experiential expertise, and as YAG members. A university ethics committee granted approval for online recorded consultations via group, pair and individual interviews. The theme of ‘seen and heard’ highlighted unprompted discussions on discursive assumptions representing young LGBT+ identities almost solely in relation to mental health risk. These rich narratives problematize the (in)visibility and silence in representations of the diversity of LGBT+ youth identities, which may inadvertently reinforce stigma. This underscores the need for comprehensive and inclusive school curricula. While MSA may explain prioritization for policy initiation, participation potentially disrupts unintended negative consequences. This article concludes by emphasizing how ‘learning with’ LGBT+ young people can ensure research, policy and practice speaks directly to youth interests and concerns.

Abstract:
This study explores secularisation in a traditionally Catholic community through the analysis of intimate relationships which fall outside Catholic morality. It gives an indication of how individuals in contemporary society perceive Church teachings on sexuality in terms of the relationship choices they make. The research draws upon 2 years of fieldwork carried out with Drachma LGBTI, a space where lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and intersex (LGBTI) people of faith may explore and deepen their spirituality. I also conducted 35 in-depth interviews with LGBT and non-LGBT individuals whose lifestyle runs counter to official Church teachings on sexuality, despite their Catholic faith that is, who are in a same-sex relationship or else divorced, cohabiting or in a civil marriage. The study revealed that while informants may disregard Church teachings on matters of sexuality, their reconstructed sexual morality is still embedded within a Catholic framework.

Abstract:
The article highlights paradigm shift in the Category of Gender triggered by expansion of gender roles spectrum in western world. This category is not reduced to the binary opposition of masculine and feminine any more and does not balance binary oppositions of grammatical gender and biological sex. To categorize new gender identities English naming and word-formation patterns and basic gender terms (male, female, masculine, feminine) were used. Some initialisms, firstly LGTB, gender derivatives were borrowed by other languages as English neologisms. In the 21st century gender-related coinages in Modern English are mushrooming. Mass Media give wide coverage of LGBT movement, fight for their rights, contribution of celebrities to spread and popularization of LGBT culture. New gender identities triggered extension of the initialism LGTB to LGTBQIA+ where the mathematical symbol stands for other diversities unindentified by letters and words yet. Gender diversity will pose the question about appropriate pronouns, so changes within grammatical gender. Mass media texts give numerous examples of increasing gender terms combinability in English, new contexts and make it possible to conclude that LGBT lexico-semantc group in present-day English is developing rapidly. Social trends, naming patterns in English, cognitive mechanisms behind them pose multiple questions about categorization, correlation of biological sex, gender diversities and grammatical gender in English and other languages.

The present article is the result of a cuantitative study about violence in couples of the LGBT community. In October of 2014 a survey was conducted with the LGBT community, in which participants were asked about indicators of in-couple violence, considering its phisical, psychological, economic and sexual manifestations. This survey confirms that 47% of the participants suffered some kind of violence. Furthermore, politics related with the LGBT community and in couple violence are thoroughly revised, making clear the existence of an institutional vacum regarding in couple violence in non-heterosexual population, given the absence of institutions specialized in providing psychosocial and law support.

Abstract:
This study focuses on Lesbian Gay Bisexuals Transgender (LGBT) which are used as the cosmopolitan life style of today's generation. Evidence of social media shows the rapid development of LGBT members. In Shari'a through religious arguments, LGBT is haram and can be punished until the death penalty and also in LGBT health is considered as one of the causes of HIV-AIDS. However, sociologically, people can accept their presence. LGBT is a paradox of life style in the Muslim community of the world. LGBT is important to be studied, especially related to the pattern of Amar Ma'rûf Nahiy Munkar in Indonesia. Two formulation of the problem, How does the Amar Ma'rfu Pattern prevent LGBT? Second, How does the Nahiy Munkar Pattern overcome LGBT? The purpose of this study answers the two formulations above through Higher Education. Sociology of Law is used as a research approach with qualitative methods because it provides answers. The summary of the research results shows that higher education has a role in fostering LGBT through the socialization of MUI fatwa number 57 of 2014 and applying ant and bee patterns in implementing the Anti LGBT Campus Program through the teaching and learning process that explains LGBT in terms of religion and health and anti-campaign LGBT when implementing community service learning.

Abstract:
Focusing on Thailand, we give a historical overview of LGBT identities and issues, highlight psychological, psychiatric and nursing research on LGBT mental health and services, and review LGBT-related policy statements of professional associations and state-affiliated instances dealing with mental health. Our review demonstrates that stigma, victimisation and familial rejection in Thailand are linked to stress, depression, substance use and suicidality among Thai LGBT people. Research has insufficiently covered transgender men, bisexuals and intersex people. Access to mental health services and their appropriateness are impeded by generic factors (e.g. overcrowded services, stigma, and confidentiality concerns) and low practitioner knowledge of LGBT issues, stereotyping of LGBT clients, and anticipation of practitioners not being accepting or understanding LGBT identities. LGBT-related policy statements have been issued by state-affiliated bodies, but not by professional associations. While sometimes supportive, many policy documents have used stigmatising terminology and perpetuated anti-LGBT prejudice. LGBT-specific counselling and health services have been established, therapeutic strategies have been investigated and information on LGBT issues has been disseminated, but LGBT sensitivity remains to be mainstreamed in Thai health and counselling services. Providing training on LGBT issues, publicising the Yogyakarta Principles and getting professional associations engaged with LGBT issues are among the ways forward.

Porém, a importância deste público padece da atenção acadêmica.

Abstract:
This research study aims to investigate word-formation strategies employed by Thai LGBTs in creating new terms. A number of LGBT terms were preselected from a Thai LGBT series named Diary Tootsies The Series, then validated by three external raters. The 50 remaining terms were analysed through an adapted framework of word formation (Algeo and Algeo, 1993; Bauer, 2020). The result indicates that Shift of Meaning, which is the strategy of assigning new meaning to the existing terms, was the predominant strategy employed. Shift of Meaning may possibly co-occur with some other strategies, such as using rhyme-motivated or compounding words. The use of more than one strategy may help embellish the terms and make their meaning more expressive and entertaining. As language can reflect its users’ identity, new terms created by Thai LGBTs would embrace the stereotypical image that people have about them in the ways that they are outgoing, funny, and creative.

AbstractIndonesia is a state of law and a country that upholds human rights. Although in the constitution there are no rules that specifically regulate the LGBT group. This thesis discusses the protection of the LGBT community on campus in terms of the legal system, human rights and the principles of academic freedom and how the state is responsible for fulfilling the rights of citizens, especially for LGBT groups on campus. Abstract:

Abstract:
AbstractGay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) in Indonesia from the perspective of human rights, Islam, and Pancasila. Research is qualitative using the method of literature study (library research). LGBT based on a religious point of view, especially Islam and Pancasila are declared forbidden and contrary culture. But, the state is in ambiguity in determining policy. The State of Indonesia faces a dilemma between Pancasila and Islam with the consistency and spirit of human rights enforcement in Indonesia since the Reformation Era. This manifestation of ambiguity appears to be the lack of clear regulation of LGBT. This gives rise to discriminatory attitudes towards LGBT people both psychologically, physically socially, culturally, and economically. This study recommends that the state should take a bold stance in determining the point of view of LGBT. LGBT citizens should still be treated equally. The absence of regulation against LGBT is a manifestation of discrimination by the state. The state should give its perspective on LGBT in Indonesia.

Abstract:
Background: Since 2014, the American Academy of Family Physicians has proposed that medical residents should gain more understanding about LGBT so that LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) patients can gain access to healthcare without bias. In order to fulfil this, appropriate educational content on LGBT is required. Methods: Ovid, PubMed, and Website of Science have been searched for literatures published in last 8 years, from 2013 to 2021. Literatures on the attitude of medical students before and after their experience of curricula with LGBT content were included, whereas those that focused on addressing the gap of LGBT content in the curricula, the bias towards LGBT medical students, and the effect of LGBT curriculum on the knowledge aspect were excluded. Results: Ninety-three articles were found, among which only six literatures were included in this review. It has been found that after LGBT education, students are more prepared and their attitude towards LGBT patients when providing healthcare is more positive. Some studies have also pointed out that medical students would change their opinion in treating LGBT patients. Conclusion: This review shows that there is evidence of the influence of LGBT education on medical students’ attitude toward LGBT patients although a wide gap still exists in this field.

Abstract:
Abstract:

Abstract:
This article is based on qualitative interviews with 20 heterosexual and 4 lgbt Norwegian Muslims, aged between 18 and 32 years. It explores how the respondents correlate divine revelation and human reasoning in reflecting about questions such as: Did God create homosexuality? Is homosexuality a test from God? Is homosexuality a problem for society? Will non-hetero sexuality be punished in the afterlife? Is it possible to interpret the Quran in a lgbt-friendly way? The various kinds of correlation between divine revelation and human reasoning is analysed using a two-dimensional typology specifically designed for this purpose: double set of consequences (a), afterlife consequences (b), progressive interpretation (c) and eclecticism (d). This typology is empirically-grounded, based on coding of the interviews. The typology contributed to clarifying the internal differentiations within respectively restrictive and affirmative attitudes concerning homosexuality. A minority regarded homosexuality to be a problem – both for this life and life after death. The majority regarded afterlife consequences for lgbts to be the sole problem. Two lgbts interpreted the Quran progressively, and experienced harmony between their religious and sexual identity. Two other lgbts read the Quran restrictively, partly disagreeing with – and not implementing – the perceived Quranic rules.

Abstract:
Sexual violence against lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people is a public health problem that needs attention. It relates to the impact of physical, psychological, and social health including the risk of increasing cases of HIV/AIDS. The objective of this literature review is to identify the description of sexual violence against LGBT people. Search results on PubMed, ScienceDirect, and ProQuest found 527 articles associated with sexual violence against LGBT people. Seven articles met the inclusion criteria and were employed for this literature review. There were 5 themes which were discovered related to sexual violence against LGBT, encompassing the type and number of cases of sexual violence against LGBT; risk factors for sexual violence against LGBT people; perpetrators of sexual violence against LGBT; and the impact of sexual violence on LGBT people. In conclusion, cases of sexual violence against LGBT people tend to be higher than heterosexual groups. Sexual violence against LGBT is a complex problem and has an impact on the physical and mental health of victims. Thus, the implementation, utilization and success of programs related to the prevention and handling of sexual violence against LGBT groups need to be evaluated so that the program runs optimally.
