Though the effects of acupuncture in atopic dermatitis have been proven in clinical studies, its mechanism remains unclear. In this study, we investigate the effectiveness and mechanism of action for acupuncture treatment on the LI11 meridian point for treatment of allergic contact dermatitis. BALB/c mice received 1-chloro-2,4-dinitrobenzene (DNCB) application to induce skin inflammation. Acupuncture treatment on LI11 significantly inhibited cutaneous hyperplasia, serum IgE levels, and expression of proinflammatory cytokine (IL-4, IL-8, and TNF-α) mRNA and NF-κB, ERK1/2, JNK, and p38 proteins.

Lithiummanganoxid ist bekannt als preiswertes und ungiftiges Elektrodenmaterial in sekundären Lithiumionenzellen. Das Spinellsystem (Li1+xMn2-yO4-d) kristallisiert bei Zimmertemperatur in der Raumgruppe Fd-3m. Das Zyklenverhalten dieser Substanz in einer Batterie ist von großem wirtschaftlichen Interesse bei der Produktion von Batteriezellen. Es wurde gezeigt, dass zusätzlich eingebautes Lithium die Zyklenstabilität signifikant erhöht. Spontaneous mutations in the human LIS1 gene are responsible for Type I lissencephaly ("smooth brain"). The distribution of neurons within the cerebral cortex of lissencephalic children appears randomized, probably owing to a defect in neuronal migration during early development. LIS1 has been implicated in the dynein pathway by genetic analyses in fungi. Trivalent lanthanide doped LiYF4 (YLF) is commonly grown by Czochralski pulling [1, 2]. Previous work using the Bridgman technique [3] produced single crystals, however, without control of orientation. Oriented YLF single crystals were recently obtained by a vertical gradient freezing technique based on seeded growth [4]. Both pure YLF and LiY1-xLnxF4 with Ln = Er (0.01 ≤ × ≤ 0.20), Pr (x = 0.01) and Nd (0.01 ≤ × ≤ 0.03) were grown under N2 atmosphere in a glassy carbon crucible. Usable crystal lengths up to more than 50 mm at 15 mm diameter were achieved. Nd and Er doped rods showed IR laser
