Abstract:

Abstract:
This paper looks at the recent military confrontation between Israel and Hezbollah in the Lebanese-Israeli border region. It describes the constitution of Hezbollah as a consequence of the regional and Lebanese context and points at the impossibility of disarming Hezbollah by external forces. There exist a number of unsolved issues in this contentious frontier area, i.e. the Israeli claim for the Lebanese water resources or the occupation of the Syrian Golan Heights. These issues have to be solved in advance to prepare the ground for an internal national Lebanese dialogue and consensus regarding the disarming of Hezbollah.

Abstract:
<p>This study is a qualitative investigation where surveys where performed on five Swedes from Lebanon. The purpose with the survey was to learn how these persons were affected by the war against Lebanon in the summer 2006, how they reacted to it and what measures they took to overcome their crisis. The result shows that the state of crisis of the interviewed persons was caused by several factors, such as the war being both unexpected and intensive. Other causes was the worry that their children would be hurt by the effects of the war as well as the material and human losses that the war brought.</p><p>The interviewed persons responded with both negative and positive reactions, which may have affect their recovery process. Some of them where offered physiological support in Sweden by their municipalities. All of them did not accept the offer, but they took other measures to work on their crisis, such as busying themselves with other things to avoid being imprisoned in the trauma. Extreme political calamities in Lebanon which arose after the war was a factor that complicated the respondents’ recovery processes. Most of them however expressed that they where in a better psychological state compared to the period right after the war.</p>

Abstract:

Abstract:
Lebanon is seen as a failed state by the international community and this study aims to look at the causes that have made Lebanon dysfunctional. The study uses Andrej Lijpharts consociational power sharing model and the international relations theory realism to analyse the internal and external causes that have made Lebanon a failed state. The study is based on interviews from the three major sects in Lebanon and a text analysis. The study shows that Lebanon is suffering from a corrupt elite that uses the state institutions to benefit their own families. The elite uses clientelism by manipulating consociational power sharing to make the ethnoreligious groups dependant on the elite’s own success. Different regional and international powers use Lebanon in their struggle for power and dominance over the Middle East. The external actors support different ethnic and religious groups by financing and arming them. That in turn deepens the divide between the sectarian groups and hinders the political progress.

Abstract:
The Antioch oration of Libanius is, on the one hand, a typical product of the sophistic work of the orator, designed to glorify his native city, and on the other, one of the best examples of the panegyric of the city in late ancient oratory. A panegyric to the city is a popular genre of solemn eloquence, well studied and described in the ancient rhetorical literature. However, Libanius’ Antioch oration is particularly interesting as the result of the development of ancient oratory, accumulating the old rhetorical tradition and the best achievements of ancient Greek orators in this genre, dating back to Isocrates and to the first sophists. The discovery of the closest literary samples for the Antioch oration allows us to determine the degree and nature of the influence of the previous rhetoric literature (the so-called Second Sophistic) on the development of late ancient eloquence, often referred as the Third Sophistic, as well as assess the contribution of Libanius as a panegyrist to the history of ancient oratory. Abstract:
New SARS-CoV-2 variants and the delay in immunization hinders COVID-19 mitigation. The pressure on healthcare systems caused by the disease has been a challenge for hospital managers. Thus, rapid assessment of hospitalization risk can support the management of hospital resources, increasing treatment opportunities for patients at higher risk, especially in case of high demands for hospitalizations. In this retrospective study, we propose a hospitalization prediction model based on classical Machine Learning algorithms: Logistic Regression (LR), k-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), Decision Tree (DT), and Support Vector Classifier (SVC). Our proposed classifier combines the results of the two algorithms, which have the best accuracies in order to reduce true-positive misclassification. We included 6,967 COVID-19 patients from São Paulo, Brazil, who had been admitted at the Hospital Sírio Libanês from February 26th to December 28th, 2020. The achieved accuracy was 90.4%, with only 7% of false-negative patients (NPV=0.82). Our results suggest that the prediction model proposed can be an efficient tool in screening COVID-19 hospitalization risk patients.

Abstract:
Introduction: An integrative review was conducted to elucidate epidemiological and clinical aspects surrounding alcohol-involved brain injury (TBI) victims, highlighting its dubieties around the theme, especially with regard to the Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS). Objectives: Expose the epidemiology and clinical aspects that may be distorted. Design and setting: Descriptive review conducted in João Pessoa, PB, Brazil. Methodology: This is an descriptive review, based on the question: TBI in alcoholic victims. A survey of studies published in the BVS and SciELO databases was conducted with a temporal focus between 2018 and 2020. Results: Epidemiological data were conclusive: most victims are male and young. Concerning the clinical aspects, the question that emerged was: is the evaluation by GCS of the alcoholic patient with suspicion of TBI accurate? The answer was negative. The use of the GCS was revealed to be inefficient, due to the reduction of motor and verbal response, which leads one to assume that it is motivated by alcohol. Additionally, alcohol in medium and high doses reduces blood pressure and elevates heart rate. These signs indicate the opposite of what is expected in a picture of intracranial hypertension caused by TBI. Such features disguise its severity. Conclusions: It is necessary to outline a better way of assessing TBI in this group and to ensure that only alcoholic libation is not associated with lower GCS numbering, preventing concealment of the severity of the trauma.

Abstract:

Abstract:
The article presents the publication of a graffito carved on the external side of a red-slip plate of the second half of the 1st early 2nd century A.D. The plate was found in the course of illegal excavations of the Kamennaya Batareyka necropolis (the Fontalovski Peninsula). It covered the bones of an infant. Its present location is unknown. The graffito contains three inscriptions arranged in a spiral around a pentagram. Two inscriptions (A and Б) are commemorative. They inform to whom and in what sequence libations should be offered on the days when the dead were commemorated. There is a special note concerning one Ierena who should be offered an extra birthday libation. The last inscription (B) is a funerary one. It contains only the name of an infant Abas. The graffito most probably mentions the members of one family or clan. The find of this inscribed plate gives some idea of the rites connected with the commemoration of the dead performed by the inhabitants of the Kamennaya Batareyka settlement. In this context more comprehensible becomes the connection of the pentagram and the spiral with funerary rites performed for close relatives, These symbols should be regarded most probably as a wish for a blissful eternal life in the other world.

Abstract:
The human platelet membrane glycoprotein (GP) IIb-IIIa complex and a family of functional leukocyte cell membrane antigens, LFA-1 (L), Mac-1 (M) andpl50,95 (X), possess knownstructural analogies. Similaritiesinclude a heterodimeric structure with a high mol. wt. αsubunit (Mr∽ 145-180 kDa) , associated nonconvalently with a lower mol. wt.β-subunit (Mr ∽ 90-95 kDa),anda partial amino acid sequence hommology between GP lib and αL or CKM. Furthermore, GP lib, α L and αM were reported to be co-expressed in murine cells transfected with a 20 kilobase human DNA fragment. To address the question of a possible genomic linkage between these related glycoproteins of different cells, we have examined patients with either ‘LFA-1 immunodeficiency disease’ or with Glanzmann's thrombasthenia (GT). S.Bo. and P.Ce. are children affected by recurrent bacterial infections since birth. Cytofluorimetric analysis using monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) for the αL, αM,αX and β subunits demonstrated that the surface expression of LFA-1, Mac-1 and pl50,95 intheir leukocytes was ≤1% of the normal values. Platelets from both patients aggregated normally and readily bound the MAbs AP-2 (anti-GP IIb-IIIa) or Tab (anti-GP IIb). Crossed immunoelectrophoresis confirmed the presenceof GP IIb-IIIa complexes, whileSDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis showed a normal migration of GP IIb and GP IIIa. Patients C. Bl. and M.Ca.are typical of the type I subgroupofGT. Their platelets are unable toaggregate and contain &lt; 1% of the normal platelet content of GP liband GP Ilia.Cytofluoro-graphy showed a normal expression of LFA-1, Mac-1 and 150,95 on the surface of lymphocytes, polymorphonuclear cells and/or monocytes of both patients. Our data thus show that despite sequence homologies and a potential genomic linkage, the cellular expression of the platelet GP IIb-IIIa complex and of the LFA-1 related leukocyte antigens may be dissociated in genetic disorders where anabnormal glycoprotein distribution may be restricted to one type of cell.

Abstract:
The Political Change” is one of the concepts which are rooted in the Arab Intellectual Farbric.Recently, it was related to The National State crisis in the Arabic World, especially it had various manifestations such as the weaknesses of the Institutes and the Organs of the the State and its deficit to assert its authority in the all the State( Syria, Lybia, Somalia), its tripping to the State building and conscrate its legimitacy (Egypt) as well as cristallizing a common identity in order to attract higher Loyalty (Liban). The situation in the Arab world, after years of movement, threatens the existence of certain States and also the regimes that have led them to achieve this deteriorating situation, as well as the future of a democratic and unitary State in the context of the current political violence. This study therefore attempts to approach the national state crisis in the Arab world by using anumber of sociological data and some concepts of political anthropology to understand the political and social changes that have affected the Arab world, assuming that the Arab State is experiencing a real crisis and that various political changes, primarily democratic mobility, have not been possible. ""The Arab Spring"" from being transferred to the status of the modern State, the State of institutions based on full citizenship and the guarantee of rights and freedoms. The national State is supposed to be a neutral State, and it must not belong to a particular organ or to the control of a specific party. It is a State for all citizens with different religious, racial and ethnic views. Any change in this equation would be a prelude to an internal explosion among the various components of society, particularly by the most affected groups.
