Abstract:
In the formal and informal organization, it is always found someone who is considered more prominent than others, who then appointed or designated as a leader. The Leader of an organization is expected to have leadership qualities, which showed his skills in leading organizations. A leader in the library requires synergy between skills in library management and leadership in general in order to create a good working atmosphere and to encourage the library staff in providing the best services to the patron community. Tenteram City Public library since year of 2018 has never experienced a change of its leader. Research using qualitative approach aimed to identify the leadership of Tenteram City public library leader in developing human resources and library services. Data of this study is gathered through observation and interviews. It is found that the head of the library serves as a role model in imbedding working discipline, he never involved the staff in decision making, the fear of making mistake is the working atmosphere created in the library. The Research found that the head of Tenteram City public library adopts autocratic leadership.

ABSTRACT We present a publicly available library of model atmospheres with radiative-convective equilibrium pressure–temperature (P-T) profiles fully consistent with equilibrium chemical abundances, and the corresponding emission and transmission spectrum with R ∼ 5000 at 0.2 µm decreasing to R ∼ 35 at 30 µm, for 89 hot Jupiter exoplanets, for four recirculation factors, six metallicities, and six C/O ratios. We find the choice of condensation process (local/rainout) alters the P-T profile and thereby the spectrum substantially, potentially detectable by James Webb Space Telescope. We find H− opacity can contribute to form a strong temperature inversion in ultrahot Jupiters for C/O ratios ≥ 1 and can make transmission spectra features flat in the optical, alongside altering the entire emission spectra. We highlight how adopting different model choices such as thermal ionization, opacities, line-wing profiles and the methodology of varying the C/O ratio, effects the P-T structure, and the spectrum. We show the role of Fe opacity to form primary/secondary inversion in the atmosphere. We use WASP-17b and WASP-121b as test cases to demonstrate the effect of grid parameters across their full range, while highlighting some important findings, concerning the overall atmospheric structure, chemical transition regimes, and their observables. Finally, we apply this library to the current transmission and emission spectra observations of WASP-121b, which shows H2O and tentative evidence for VO at the limb, and H2O emission feature indicative of inversion on the dayside, with very low energy redistribution, thereby demonstrating the applicability of library for planning and interpreting observations of transmission and emission spectrum.

AbstractSpectral evolution models are a widely used tool for determining the stellar content of galaxies. I provide a review of the latest developments in stellar atmosphere and evolution models, with an emphasis on massive stars. In contrast to the situation for low- and intermediate-mass stars, the current main challenge for spectral synthesis models are the uncertainties and rapid revision of current stellar evolution models. Spectral libraries, in particular those drawn from theoretical model atmospheres for hot stars, are relatively mature and can complement empirical templates for larger parameter space coverage. I introduce a new ultraviolet spectral library based on theoretical radiation-hydrodynamic atmospheres for hot massive stars. Application of this library to star-forming galaxies at high redshift, i.e., Lyman-break galaxies, will provide new insights into the abundances, initial mass function and ages of stars in the very early universe.

In an uncharacteristic burst of rhetoric and emotion, the 1849 Select Committee on Public Libraries implored:Shall we therefore abandon the people to the influence of a low, enfeebling, and often pestilential literature, instead of enabling them to breathe a more pure, elevated, and congenial atmosphere? (viii)The means of bringing about such a literate atmosphere was the funding of a system of public libraries, institutions freely open to all, but especially aimed at working-class readers. These institutions would provide access to books unavailable to the working-class reading public. In providing such access, the libraries were also to ensure that books would be free of the “pestilential” influences of the “low” kinds of texts commonly available to the working class. The public library was thus to purify, elevate, and disinfect working-class reading.

Abstract. The method of elevation classes, in which the ice surface model is run at multiple elevations within each grid cell, has proven to be a useful way for a low-resolution atmosphere inside a general circulation model (GCM) to produce high-resolution downscaled surface mass balance fields for use in one-way studies coupling atmospheres and ice flow models. Past uses of elevation classes have failed to conserve mass and energy because the transformation used to regrid to the atmosphere was inconsistent with the transformation used to downscale to the ice model. This would cause problems for two-way coupling. A strategy that resolves this conservation issue has been designed and is presented here. The approach identifies three grids between which data must be regridded and five transformations between those grids required by a typical coupled atmosphere–ice flow model. This paper develops a theoretical framework for the problem and shows how each of these transformations may be achieved in a consistent, conservative manner. These transformations are implemented in Glint2, a library used to couple atmosphere models with ice models. Source code and documentation are available for download. Confounding real-world issues are discussed, including the use of projections for ice modeling, how to handle dynamically changing ice geometry, and modifications required for finite element ice models.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT One of the principal bottlenecks to atmosphere characterization in the era of all-sky surveys is the availability of fast, autonomous, and robust atmospheric retrieval methods. We present a new approach using unsupervised machine learning to generate informed priors for retrieval of exoplanetary atmosphere parameters from transmission spectra. We use principal component analysis (PCA) to efficiently compress the information content of a library of transmission spectra forward models generated using the platon package. We then apply a k-means clustering algorithm in PCA space to segregate the library into discrete classes. We show that our classifier is almost always able to instantaneously place a previously unseen spectrum into the correct class, for low-to-moderate spectral resolutions, R, in the range R = 30−300 and noise levels up to 10 per cent of the peak-to-trough spectrum amplitude. The distribution of physical parameters for all members of the class therefore provides an informed prior for standard retrieval methods such as nested sampling. We benchmark our informed-prior approach against a standard uniform-prior nested sampler, finding that our approach is up to a factor of 2 faster, with negligible reduction in accuracy. We demonstrate the application of this method to existing and near-future observatories, and show that it is suitable for real-world application. Our general approach is not specific to transmission spectroscopy and should be more widely applicable to cases that involve the repetitive fitting of trusted high-dimensional models to large data catalogues, including beyond exoplanetary science.

Abstract. The Earth Science Box Modeling Toolkit (ESBMTK) is a Python library that streamlines the creation and analysis of box models in earth sciences. With its modular, object-oriented design, ESBMTK simplifies the study of systems such as the long-term carbon cycle or the impact of atmospheric CO2 variations on ocean chemistry. By standardizing and clarifying how models are defined, the library enhances code readability and serves as a self-documenting tool, making it approachable for undergraduate students and efficient for researchers. ESBMTK automatically translates user-defined models into equations which are solved using established numerical libraries. It also includes built-in functionality for common tasks such as ocean–atmosphere gas exchange, marine carbonate chemistry, isotope effects, and perturbation scenarios. The library's core interface is stable, supported by comprehensive documentation, and available as open-source software through the pip and conda package management systems.

The results of a computer simulation of laser beams focused by a combined multichannel array system in the atmosphere are presented. Beam propagation on atmospheric paths is considered taking into account the influence of turbulence and time-dependent thermal blooming interactions. The increase in the maximum intensity of the focal spot due to the optimization of the initial power density of the emitting aperture is estimated. It is shown that the scaling of the optimal initial power in multichannel arrays preserves the proportional dependence of the maximum intensity in focus with an increase in the number of channels. For wave-optics simulation, custom made software was developed based on the split-step method and modified for parallel algorithms using the functions of the Intel ® Math Kernel Library.

Through a qualitative, single case study, ethnographic and interview techniques were applied. Readers’ actual practices and discourses, through a theoretical sample, and those of managers, staff and architects were analysed; a spatial analysis was conducted within the framework of social inequalities and power relations. The paper proposes the concept of reading atmosphere and suggests that its social production is based on a tacit, informal code of conduct in which some regular readers played an influential role. Abstract Lighting is an important element in architectural design, especially for spaces that accommodate reading activities. The role of lighting is to create a comfortable atmosphere in learning, reading and writing activities. This paper discusses lighting in the journal room of the Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) library, especially in the reading area and book storage shelves, to determine the effect of the role of lighting in creating an atmosphere that can provide visual comfort for library room users. The method used is observation and assessment through the study of literature related to this study. The results and conclusions drawn are explained descriptively in accordance with the observations made by the researcher. The role of lighting in the room under study has not been maximized, due to the uneven distribution of lighting, and there is no lighting that gives a visual impression that creates an aesthetic effect. Further research is needed to calculate light requirements and re-design the room to address visual discomfort and meet required lighting standards.

Abstract:
Objective – The goal of this study was to examine whether an undergraduate student's race influences their interactions and perceived quality of experiences with librarians/library staff and student employees. Methods – The study consisted of a survey distributed by email to undergraduate students at a medium size public university located in North Central Massachusetts. Students answered questions about the frequency of their interactions with librarians and student employees, whether they felt respected during the interactions, whether their information needs were met, and whether the interactions increased their feelings of belonging at the university. Data analysis on the 366 students who completed the survey was conducted in SPSS using Fisher’s exact test. Results – Findings revealed that Black students reported more frequent interactions with librarians/library staff and student employees than Latina/o/e and White students did. The difference across races regarding the frequency of interactions with librarians/library staff and student employees was statistically significant. Although Black students also reported higher levels of agreement for feeling respected, having their information needs met, and feelings of belonging than their counterparts, the differences among races were not statistically significant. Black, Latina/o/e, and White students felt respected, had their information needs met, and felt a sense of belonging regardless of whom they interacted with. Further, preferences for whom students interacted with depended on the type of information needed. Students sought librarians for research help and student employees for logistical support. Conclusion – To improve the undergraduate student library experience, the authors discuss how to create a more accessible and inclusive library environment by leveraging student employees for peer mentoring, enhancing faculty collaboration to integrate library resources into coursework, and providing professional development for library staff to foster a welcoming atmosphere.

Abstract:
Context. The study of linear waves and instabilities is necessary to understand the physical evolution of an atmosphere, and can provide physical interpretation of the complex flows found in simulations performed using global circulation models (GCMs). In particular, the acceleration of superrotating flow at the equator of hot Jupiters has mostly been studied under several simplifying assumptions, the relaxing of which may impact final results. Aims. We develop and benchmark a publicly available algorithm to identify the eigenmodes of an atmosphere around any initial steady state. We also solve for linear steady states indicated to be essential in existing theories of the acceleration of hot Jupiter superrotation. Methods. We linearise the hydrodynamical equations of a planetary atmosphere in a steady state with arbitrary velocities and thermal profile. We then discretise the linearised equations on an appropriate staggered grid, and solve for eigenvectors and linear steady solutions with the use of a parallel library for linear algebra: ScaLAPACK. We also implement a posteriori calculation of an energy equation in order to obtain more information on the underlying physics of the mode. Results. Our code is tested using classical wave and instability test cases in multiple geometries (2D, 3D, two-layer equivalent depth). The steady linear circulation calculations also reproduce expected results for the atmosphere of hot Jupiters. We finally show the robustness of our energy equation, and its power to obtain physical insight into the modes. Conclusions. We developed and tested a code for the study of linear processes in planetary atmospheres with an arbitrary steady state. The calculation of an a posteriori energy equation provides both increased robustness and physical meaning to the obtained eigenmodes. This code can be applied to various problems, and notably used to further study the initial spin up of superrotation of GCM simulations of hot Jupiters.

Abstract:
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine the different aspects of language that are present in the signage, handouts and websites of public libraries. It discusses the extent to which this language reflects the varying demographics of library clients. Design/methodology/approach This paper reports on a qualitative study, which took a document analysis approach and utilised an inductive-coding technique to analyse data collected from four lower North Island libraries in New Zealand. Findings Five language aspects were identified from the collected data: monolingual, bilingual and multilingual language; language context; welcoming and prohibitive language; language consistency; and jargon. The nature and incidence of these aspects were evaluated for each of the four libraries. In some cases, the libraries achieve an accurate reflection of client demographics through their language. However, each library could make some changes to their use of language to better accommodate their distinct communities. Practical implications This paper suggests that modifying library language to better reflect client demographics will contribute to an atmosphere of inclusion, welcome and acceptance. Such an atmosphere will promote information access for all members of the community. Recommendations for change are made, as well as suggestions for future research. Originality/value This paper contributes to the body of knowledge on communication and language in libraries, particularly in a New Zealand context where there is a paucity of research on this topic. This paper benefits libraries and clients by identifying patterns, contrasts and potential improvements.

Abstract:
Abstract Planet formation models suggest that the small exoplanets that migrate from beyond the snowline of the protoplanetary disk likely contain water-ice-rich cores (∼50% by mass), also known as water worlds. While the observed radius valley of the Kepler planets is well explained by the atmospheric dichotomy of the rocky planets, precise measurements of the mass and radius of the transiting planets hint at the existence of these water worlds. However, observations cannot confirm the core compositions of those planets, owing to the degeneracy between the density of a bare water-ice-rich planet and the bulk density of a rocky planet with a thin atmosphere. We combine different formation models from the Genesis library with atmospheric escape models, such as photoevaporation and impact stripping, to simulate planetary systems consistent with the observed radius valley. We then explore the possibility of water worlds being present in the currently observed sample by comparing them with simulated planets in the mass–radius–orbital period space. We find that the migration models suggest ≳10% and ≳20% of the bare planets, i.e., planets without primordial H/He atmospheres, to be water-ice-rich around G- and M-type host stars, respectively, consistent with the mass–radius distributions of the observed planets. However, most of the water worlds are predicted to be outside a period of 10 days. A unique identification of water worlds through radial velocity and transmission spectroscopy is likely to be more successful when targeting such planets with longer orbital periods.

This research aims to interpret and show how libraries and librarians are represented in the music video Bertahan/Pergi-Raisa. The research method is qualitative using Ferdinand de Saussure’s semiotics analysis to reveal the relationship between signifier and signified which constructs the audience's understanding of libraries and librarians. Signifier and signified regarding libraries and librarians are dissected through the images/video and dialogue between characters. In the Bertahan/Pergi’s clip, the type of library shown is the latest library version, with a typical cafe interior design. However, the library is still described as a place with no visitors and has a dark atmosphere. The library is also represented as a place to look for references, as well as a meeting space between writers and book readers. Apart from that, this clip also represents librarians as people who love reading, respecting toward social interaction, and are able to think critically, moreover they are also kind and intelligent.

Abstract Amidst environmental crisis, the role of built environment sector becomes even more vital as it formed capacity in contributing a substantial factors to reduce energy usage and emission of greenhouse gas to atmosphere. Library specifically, act as crucial function in extending the agenda of promoting environmental practice. However, limited rating system explicitly for library’s green initiatives makes it challenging for library to implement these initiatives due to lack of proper guidelines. Hence, this study was conducted to examine existing checklists measuring green initiatives in library and to formulate assessment list for evaluating sustainable library’s operational initiatives. Systematic literature reviews were conducted in establishing the evaluation checklist, in which three existing checklists related to green initiatives in library were compared and referred to. The assessment checklist developed in this study identifies 107 initiatives related to facilities can be implemented by existing libraries in Malaysia. The result of this study serves as a basis for libraries in Malaysia to environmentally improve its facilities.

ABSTRACTWe established a Ca1-xBixMn1-yNiyO3 (0 ≤ x, y ≤ 0.1) powder library using a combinatorial system based on the electrostatic spray deposition method. Single phase perovskite-type structures were identified in all of the powders. To measure electrical conductivity, the powder library was subjected to high-pressure (200 MPa) and heat-treated at 950°C for 1 hour in an oxygen atmosphere. As a representative example, the electrical conductivity of 5%-Bi-substituted CaMnO3-δ showed a higher value (63 S·cm-1) than an unsubstituted powder (13 S·cm-1). The improved electrical conductivity, on the other hand, was still very far from the ideal result (167 S·cm-1).

Abstract:
Madrasah Diniyah (Madin) as one of the non-formal educational institutions that is needed by the community at this time to provide provisions as the successor to the nation. So that the learning process in Madin runs well, various facilities are needed, including the availability of a library. The library is a place to find information sharing knowledge for students (santri). The availability of libraries in Madin Salawiyah, Ngombak Village, Kedungjati Sub-district, can help students form the habit of reading and seeking knowledge for students. Observation results show that: (1) open services are services that give students the opportunity to choose free books to read and take home, (2) closed services namely services that allow participants to visit the library at certain hours, and (3) students Madin Salawiyah showed high enthusiasm to visit the library. The results of dedication to library services can improve the optimization of services to students, scholars, clerics by applying the simplicity of service, responsibility, and convenience. In addition, good library services can have a good impact on library users, such as being able to motivate friends to actively read books, increase knowledge, make it easier to complete the tasks of the clerics and religious teachers. Therefore, the library Madin Salawiyah continues to evaluate the performance and quality of the library in order to create a conducive atmosphere for students in reading.
