Abstract:
Osmotic laxatives produce the best results. Fiber and behavior modification may have a role. Increased fiber and behavior modification are the most often recommended first steps in managing chronic functional constipation (CFC) in children, but only limited evidence supports this approach. For pharmacologic management, the best evidence supports osmotic laxatives.

Recent statistical studies suggest the proportion of Hispanic students within our nation’s classrooms is growing at a significant rate, experiencing the highest increase in numbers of any other ethnic group. These students require resources conducive to English language learning which also honor the Hispanic/Latino culture. Yet, out of 3,400 books received by the Cooperative Children’s Book Center (CCBC) in 2011, only 52 were penned or created by Latino authors/ illustrators. This number is expected to decline over the coming years. This insufficiency is an enormous challenge to librarians who

This thesis is about librarians and librarianship. Questions asked in the thesis are how the librarianship developed between 1475 and 1780 and what the core and the main tasks of the profession were. There is also the question whether the profession is built on a common basis to rely on and if it is characterized by unique knowledge. The history of the librarian is divided in three parallel ongoing parts, the practical, the visionary and finally the personal, the librarians own attitudes. The practical area is characterized by the practical work, as cataloguing, classification, care of books,
