Abstract:
Introduction: The prevalence of cardiovascular health (CVH) factors defined by Life’s Simple 8 (LS8) among men and women in Brazil who work in industry is still incipient. And it is known that low levels of CVH are associated with cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) and early mortality. Objective: To evaluate CVH in workers in the industrial sector. Methods: Cross-sectional study, carried out with 78 industrial employees. CVH was defined by the LS8 established by the American Heart Association (AHA). The eight factors evaluated were diet, physical activity level (PAL), sleep health, smoking, non-HDL cholesterol, fasting glucose, systemic blood pressure (SBP) and body mass index (BMI). Thus, the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ - short version), the Mediterranean Diet and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index were applied to evaluate PAL, diet and sleep health, respectively. Results: Women presented higher values for diet (p=0.001), with lower systolic BP (p=0.020). Men had a lower prevalence of high CVH for the diet metric (p=0.002). Women presented a higher prevalence of high CVH for the BMI metric. Conclusion: Women in the industrial sector have a more cardioprotective diet and better blood pressure levels. The assessment of CVH in this sector is essential to identify behaviors and health factors that require greater attention, in addition to encouraging industries to implement policies aimed at promoting employee health.

Abstract:
The current study aims to distinguish objects and events, which teens and adolescents include in their life's spaces, explore differences in attitudes towards life spaces, and determine the level of life's space satisfaction of the youth via narrative psycholinguistic research. Methods: Methodological approaches inhered in interviewing and content analysis of the texts by calculating the frequency and investigating the components of the life's space category references that were defined based on the narrative compositions. The validity of categorisation was proved by propositional analysis. Spearman's rank correlation method was used. Results: The research results showed that stories people tell us holds powerful sway over their memories, behaviours, and identities. The youth's space was analysed within three content blocks: structural, interpretational, and evaluative. The structural block defined categories: people; city; habitable space; educational institution; social environment and information; activity; nature; state and patriotism; the inner world. The interpretational block analysis defined interpretational judgments and attributions of the responsibility for actions and changes in the participants' lives. The evaluative block analysis revealed the significant differences between teenagers and adolescents and between females and males in terms of life's space evaluation. Conclusions: The structure of teens’ and adolescents’ live space is similar, but its interpretation and evaluation are significantly different. Proceeding from teenage to adolescence is followed by such changes as growing dissatisfaction of the existing life's space and the wish to change it; growing internality, i.e., understanding personal responsibility of the life's space formation.

Abstract:
The psychological source of human activity is hidden in human nature. The values of life on which the affirmation and vitality of the individual are based are revealed in the aesthetic and ethical spheres. In the sphere of the aesthetic – it is an experience of beauty and magnificence, in the sphere of the ethical – it is love, faithfulness, dedication and cheerfulness, which are based at the active attitude of a person. Thus, ethos is closely connected with eros. The latter is used in the article in the sense of a strong, passionate AESTHETIC (rather than physiological or psycho-physiological) feeling. The aim of this work is to investigate the interconnection of ethos and eros in the life of a prominent figure of Ukrainian musical culture, Mykola Lysenko (1842-1912). The methodology of the research is to combine the cultural-historical method (elucidating the life and work of the composer through the prism of the aesthetic and ethical spheres), the method of analysis of scientific literature on the problem (to identify the degree of its development and prospects for further exploration), epistolary analysis and methods of personology (biographical and cultural-psychological reconstruction). The scientific novelty of the article is due to the fact that for the first time M. Lysenko’s spiritual world, in which ethos and eros interacted organically, is considered as a factor that had a profound effect on his musical creativity. This, in particular, has been embodied in the vocal works (solo songs) that make up the gold fund of Ukrainian musical art. Conclusions. The proposed research draws attention to the personal life of the composer, his value orientations and emotional states, in particular to the feeling of love for a woman. The results of the study make it possible to rethink the heritage of the national music culture in the context of the personality problem.

Role-playing scenarios in science education offer students an active way to engage in learning as well as to discover how their decisions as citizens, voters, or policymakers can affect environmental and public health. In this activity, students take on the role of environmental consultants, helping city planners decide the best location for a new recreation area located on the fictional community's major waterway. The objective of the game is to engage the students in critical thinking to determine the most relevant water tests needed to accept or reject the four proposed locations, given their knowledge of possible pollutants from different land-use activities. Students work in teams to integrate methods used in determining water quality, such as chemical testing, macroinvertebrate surveys, and bacterial monitoring, into a defendable decision for their recommendation. This activity was designed for and tested by high school students enrolled in AP Environmental Sciences and could be modified for undergraduate ecology or biology courses.

Abstract:
The main protection against diseases is the prevention of health and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, which contributes to the maintenance and improvement of health. The internal picture of health has age-related features that are reflected in its structure. The development of the internal picture of the child's health is carried out in stages, as he grows up, it moves inside the personality, manifests itself in his behavior. It can be argued that the internal picture of the health of schoolchildren of any age is full of contradictions and mistakes, many of its components need correction and development, so it is difficult for them to lead a healthy lifestyle. Assessing the lifestyle of the country's population as a whole and children, adolescents separately in the aspect of medical activity, it should be noted that there is still no value concept of health as the dominant of life's benefits. Children have no desire for physical perfection, to create a cult of health, there is a tendency to neglect health, to misunderstand their own lifestyle as a derivative of health

Abstract:
Abstract. Vernadsky described life as the geologic force, while Lovelock noted the role of life in driving the Earth's atmospheric composition to a unique state of thermodynamic disequilibrium. Here, we use these notions in conjunction with thermodynamics to quantify biotic activity as a driving force for geologic processes. Specifically, we explore the hypothesis that biologically-mediated processes operating on the surface of the Earth, such as the biotic enhancement of weathering of continental crust, affect interior processes such as mantle convection and have therefore shaped the evolution of the whole Earth system beyond its surface and atmosphere. We set up three simple models of mantle convection, oceanic crust recycling and continental crust recycling. We describe these models in terms of non-equilibrium thermodynamics in which the generation and dissipation of gradients is central to driving their dynamics and that such dynamics can be affected by their boundary conditions. We use these models to quantify the maximum power that is involved in these processes. The assumption that these processes, given a set of boundary conditions, operate at maximum levels of generation and dissipation of free energy lead to reasonable predictions of core temperature, seafloor spreading rates, and continental crust thickness. With a set of sensitivity simulations we then show how these models interact through the boundary conditions at the mantle-crust and oceanic-continental crust interfaces. These simulations hence support our hypothesis that the depletion of continental crust at the land surface can affect rates of oceanic crust recycling and mantle convection deep within the Earth's interior. We situate this hypothesis within a broader assessment of surface-interior interactions by setting up a work budget of the Earth's interior to compare the maximum power estimates that drive interior processes to the power that is associated with biotic activity. We estimate that the maximum power involved in mantle convection is 12 TW, oceanic crust cycling is 28 TW, and continental uplift is less than 1 TW. By directly utilizing the low entropy nature of solar radiation, photosynthesis generates 215 TW of chemical free energy. This high power associated with life results from the fact that photochemistry is not limited by the low energy that is available from the heating gradients that drive geophysical processes in the interior. We conclude that by utilizing only a small fraction of the generated free chemical energy for geochemical transformations at the surface, life has the potential to substantially affect interior processes, and so the whole Earth system. Consequently, when understanding Earth system processes we may need to adopt a dynamical model schema in which previously fixed boundary conditions become components of a co-evolutionary system.

Abstract:
The article presents the results of both theoretical analysis and empirical research of the psychological features of the development of adolescent resilience. It has been established that resilience is a dynamic phenomenon that plays a key role in a person's ability to effectively cope with stress, life challenges, maintain mental health and ensure personal development. The close connection of resilience with the concept of post-traumatic growth is emphasized thus revealing the individual's potential for positive transformation and enrichment of internal resources after experiencing a traumatic experience. Two main approaches to the essence of resilience are defined. It was found that resilience has a multifactorial nature and depends on interacting individual, family and social factors. Resilience is analyzed as a leading personal trait that determines the success of adolescents' adaptation to life under martial law. The key characteristics of adolescent resilience are: confidence in one's own abilities, adaptive personality traits at this age, positive experience in solving life's difficulties, adequate self-esteem, emotional and behavioral self-regulation, a sufficient level of intellectual development, self-organization and time planning skills, and orientation towards achieving goals. The results of the empirical research on the resilience of adolescents indicate the presence of a significant part of adolescents with average and above average levels of resilience and hadiness, activity and optimism that are important resources for effectively overcoming life's challenges. The presence of a risk group with a lower than average level of resilience, a low level of hardiness indicates the need to develop and implement psychological interventions aimed at developing adolescent resilience. The urgency of developing training programs for the development of adolescent resilience using flexible methods of influence and the latest techniques is emphasized

Abstract:
This work explores the potential of Zen Buddhist practices such as meditation, mind-fulness, and acceptance of life's variability, examining their application in contemporary psychotherapeutic programs like Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). The study employs a concise theoretical analysis of key Zen concepts, including emptiness (sunyata), satori (enlightenment), enso (circle symbolizing the universe), and the focus on living in the present moment. Methodological tools such as systematization, comparative analysis, critical reflection, and cross-cultural perspectives bridge Zen Buddhism and modern psychotherapy. Empirical evidence supports the effectiveness of Zen practices in reducing anxiety by fostering awareness and cultivating inner peace. Techniques such as zazen meditation improve emotional resilience, reduce stress, and encourage the acceptance of uncertainty and life's natural fluctuations. These practices are particularly effective in addressing anxiety linked to fears of the future and a lack of control. Studies also highlight the impact of Zen practices on neurophysiological activity, show-ing improvements in brain function and overall psychoemotional wellbeing. Programs like MBSR, which integrate meditative practices and mindfulness, demonstrate signifi-cant benefits in reducing anxiety symptoms and promoting mental health. However, their effectiveness can vary depending on individual factors, including commitment to practice and cultural adaptability. Despite these limitations, Zen Buddhism offers a holistic framework that complements conventional therapeutic methods. In conclusion, Zen Buddhism provides valuable tools for managing anxiety in the post-anxiety era. Its meditation and mindfulness practices, rooted in centuries-old wis-dom, have been scientifically validated as effective for reducing stress and improving emotional stability. Incorporating Zen principles into modern psychotherapeutic approaches can significantly enhance mental health, increase resilience to stress, and fos-ter a sense of harmony with oneself and the world. These timeless practices offer a pathway to greater inner peace and well-being, addressing the urgent need for effective mental health strategies in today's fast-paced and uncertain world.

Abstract:
This article explores the links between the philosophies of Georges Canguilhem and Gilbert Simondon. It highlights their shared emphasis on the difficult character of human life, framing this difficulty in terms of an existential encounter with problems and their resolutions. It shows how the notion of ‘problem’ which grounds both of their thinking presupposes a neo-vitalist conception of life as purposive behaviour, extended to forms of collective, technical and symbolic activity. The consequences of this conception for Canguilhem's and Simondon's engagement with questions of pedagogy, and the role of philosophical education in particular, are then examined. The article concludes by considering the ambiguous place of anxiety in their work and its significance for thinking about the conditions of knowledge and action. Following Canguilhem and Simondon, I argue for the importance of helping the human organism develop relatively autonomous interior and exterior milieus to cope with life's fundamental difficulty.

Abstract:
Self-confidence is a feeling of confidence in one's abilities without fear and being able to solve all life's challenges without comparing them with the abilities of others. This statement does not apply to people with HIV-positive because the stigma attached to them by society, such as groups of sinners, guilty, recipients of curses, and even torment, lower their self-confidence of people with HIV-positive. Physical activity through football has an important role in changing stigma and is a way for people with HIV-positive to be accepted by society regardless of their status. This study aims to determine the effect of physical activity through football on the self-confidence of people with HIV-positive. The research uses causalcomparative or ex post facto research methods. Sampling used a purposive sampling technique with a sample of 5 people with HIV-positive who participated in football activities. The instrument used is a closed questionnaire using a Likert Scale. Based on the validity test of a valid questionnaire as many as 28 items out of 50 statement items and reliability test results obtained 0.722021 and included in the reliable criteria. Processing and analyzing data, it was found that the score of people with HIV-positive who took part in football activities was 514 from a maximum score of 700 after the percentage of the results was 73.43%. Thus, researchers can conclude that physical activity through football can affect the selfconfidence of people with HIV-positive.

Abstract:
The article gives scientific argumentation for the authors’ mental model of labor activity transformations as a component of a new social (ab)normality, which is a symbiosis of three "big bangs" - information and digital transformations, sanitary and epidemiological restrictions, military aggression. The authors’ vision of the origin, character and nature of the "big bangs" is presented, and attention is focused on their consequences for social and labor development. The essential characteristics of the space atomization, which occurs in the conditions of volatility, anxiety, unpredictability of the life of an economically active person during martial law, are revealed. It is emphasized that the forced need to secure the workplace, organized at home, and change the location in search of a shelter from military aggression was a new challenge for social and labor life. Based on the results of survey, which show the preservation of active life position among Ukrainians during the war, it was concluded that the employment during martial law - remote or standard - affects self-confidence in overcoming life's difficulties. The manifestations of atomization (compression) of the living space of an economically active person during martial law are generalized, the emphasis is placed on the precarization of spare time. The problem of income is considered. It is stated that having an income not only allows to meet basic human needs, but also inspires a sense of security and reduces anxiety and worry about uncertainty in the future. The behavior models of the subjects of social and labor relations regarding the prospects and attractiveness of remote work are described. It is proved that atomization of living space of economically active people and the diffusion of activity depend on the scale of remote work, which acquired new formats and manifestations during the war, against the background of large-scale and intensive migration flows. It is hypothesized that the novel development trajectories of labor activity organization will be based on alternative hybrid employment models with the dominance of traditional workplaces in the employers’ premises using "Industry 4.0" technological solutions and the priority of human resources.

The article reflects the results of the scientific research carried out by the authors and the experience of practical work with adolescents. The article presents the results of an empirical study of the concepts of life perspectives and recommendations on the organization and content of psychological and pedagogical work aimed at forming a full-fledged life perspective for adolescents living in government institutions. Such work should be an important direction of the developing and corrective activity of the institution that educates adolescents who have fallen into a difficult life situation — the families left without care. Psychological support of the formation of ideas about life prospects will allow adolescents to develop much more adequate ideas about themselves, their abilities, life perspectives, and learn to plan their own life's events. Psychological work on the formation of adequate ideas about life prospects with teenagers raised outside the family will help create the prerequisites for overcoming this category of adolescents between the "dysfunctional past and the present" and the "dysfunctional future," and will contribute to a more prosperous independent life in the future.

Abstract:
Can archaeology make sense of art ‘after interpretation’? Post-human scholarship suggests that conventional approaches to art, guided by Cartesian ontology, fail to account for the deeper kinship between things and thoughts. But the growing disillusionment with representation leaves art and the semiotic questions it raises in limbo. Can we recover an adequate social theory of art, semiosis and the subject in a post-humanist world? I submit that we can by building on Eduardo Kohn's thesis that life beyond the human is constitutively semiotic. Art, as a semiotic involution of life's animating processes, is form-taking and form-replicating activity. This form-taking is open-ended and prospective, continuously reaching beyond itself to refigure specific cases as general kinds. This occasions a process of emergence through which novel ‘reals’—including societies and selves—are produced. Extending Sahlins’ definition of kinship to include human/non-human relations, I argue that seventeenth-century Iroquoian art was about kinning—the making of relatives—and its power to form and reform relations of all sorts was central to its success.

Abstract:
Abstract Background and Purpose. The number of older adults with cancer is growing, increasing the need for professionals who are able to meet these patients' special needs. In palliative care settings, physical therapists strive to promote quality of life. Minimal research exists, however, to guide therapists working with patients with terminal illness. The purpose of this study was to gain knowledge that can be used by physical therapists to more effectively assess and treat older people with cancer who are receiving hospice care. Subjects and Methods. A qualitative single-case study with replication was conducted with 3 older women with cancer who are receiving hospice care. Interview data were analyzed using grounded theory techniques. Results. Four themes emerged as central to the experience of the informants: social relationships, spirituality, outlook on mortality, and meaningful physical activity. Conclusion and Discussion. In addition to maintaining physical function, physical therapists, who attend to nonphysical as well as physical aspects of care, may foster social cohesion, help maximize life's meaning, and support stabilizing strategies of older women with cancer who receive hospice care.

Abstract:
One of the most essential teachings of Islam is deliberation, because with it humans can solve all life's problems in a good and wise manner. Apart from that, in deliberations commendable qualities such as brotherhood, equality, mutual respect, not imposing their own will, understanding and acknowledging other people's views will be born even though there are differences (agree on differences). Deliberation is a negotiating activity by exchanging opinions from various parties regarding an issue to then be considered and decided and taken for the best for the common good. The term deliberation has become a public discourse among Muslim intellectuals in recent centuries, especially in the 21st century. This is due to the influence if not said to be cultural infiltration and western political theory on the Islamic world, especially in the discourse of democracy. At the time of the Prophet led the state of Medina and made deliberation one of the principles of statehood. This paper attempts to elaborate on the principle of deliberation contained in the Qur'an. Abstract:
Abstract Background To promote ideal cardiovascular health, the American Heart Association recommends adhering to Life's Simple 7 (LS7)—achieving healthy targets for BMI, physical activity, dietary intake, blood pressure, fasting plasma glucose, and cholesterol, along with smoking abstinence. Retrospective data analyses have shown associations between poorer achievement of LS7 (lower score) and the development of hypertension and cardiovascular disease (CVD). However, less is known about the associations between LS7 and specific biomarkers linked to cardiovascular health. Hypothesis We hypothesized that achievement of LS7 (higher score) would be associated with lower levels of aldosterone and inflammatory markers implicated in CVD in individuals with controlled dietary sodium intake. Methodology The analysis included 379 normotensive and hypertensive individuals (age 18-66 years) from the HyperPATH (International Hypertensive Pathotype) consortium, who were maintained on at least 200 mEq of NaCl daily for one week and had a urinary salt balance of >150 mEq/24 hours at the time of sample collection. We calculated a 14-point summative LS7 score according to participants’ baseline data. Based on the range of LS7 score in this population, we classified participants as 'inadequate' (3-6), 'average' (7-10), and 'optimal' (11-14). We then performed regression analyses (adjusted for age, sex, race, and serum creatinine) between the LS7 score groups (inadequate, average, or optimal) and biochemical measures, including levels of aldosterone, C-reactive protein (CRP), and interleukin 6 (IL-6). Results When comparing across all three LS7 score groups, a higher LS7 score group was associated with lower aldosterone levels both in the serum (p=0.005, -0.97 [-1.63, -0.30]) and urine (p=0.003, -2.34 [-4.07, -0.825]). Additionally, a higher LS7 score group was associated with lower renin (p=0.008, -0.13 [-0.22, -0.03]) and a blunted increase in aldosterone with angiotensin-II infusion (p=0.019, -1.66 [-3.04, -0.27]). Serum potassium and serum cortisol were not associated with the LS7 scores. Being in the 'optimal' LS7 score group was associated with lower serum levels of CRP (p=0.001, -0.1 [-0.15, -0.04]) and IL-6 (p=0.026, -0.84 [-1.59, -0.10]). Notably, among the individual LS7 components, achieving target blood pressure and exercise goals most significantly impacted the associations between LS7 score and aldosterone levels. Conclusions Achieving an optimal American Heart Association's LS7 score was associated with a lower activity of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system and lower levels of the inflammatory markers CRP and IL-6, which may help to explain previous reports of better cardiovascular outcomes in individuals with a higher LS7 score. These findings offer a possible link between ideal cardiovascular health targets and biomarkers known to play a central role in the development of CVD. Abstract:
Abstract American Heart Association’s (AHA) Life’s Simple 7 (LS7), an index of cardiovascular health risks, has been associated with worse brain outcomes but few examined this relationship in midlife. We examined whether LS7 scores at midlife were associated with brain morphometry in early old age. Participants were 471 men who participated in the Vietnam Era Twin Study of Aging. The LS7 index was assessed at mean age 62 (range 55-66) and 68 (range 61-71) and included smoking, physical activity, diet, body mass index, cholesterol, glucose, and blood pressure. Each factor was coded, per AHA criteria, on a 3-point scale (0/poor-2/ideal) and summed to create a composite score (0-14). At mean age 68, participants underwent structural magnetic resonance imaging, which was used to create the previously validated brain measures. Scores included: the ratio of abnormal white matter to white matter, and two Alzheimer’s disease brain signatures (cortical thickness/volume signature and a mean diffusivity (MD) signature). Analyses controlled for age, education, income, ethnicity, and APOE genotype. Concurrently at mean age 68, the LS7 was associated with cortical thickness/volume (F=4.85, p = .028), MD (F=10.89, p = .001) signatures and abnormal white matter ratio (F=14.04, p < .001). Prospectively, the LS7 at mean 62 was significantly associated with age 68 cortical thickness/volume (F=5.08, p = .025) and MD (F=5.54, p = .019) signatures but not with abnormal white matter ratio. These results suggest that prevention strategies that promote heart healthy behaviors could have implications for healthy brain aging.

Abstract:
The article presents the research results, which is directed at identifying of the actual attitude of older adolescents towards the future, taking into account gender differences. It is suggested that in the self-consciousness of older adolescents aspects of self-relation that are significant for the future are not coordinated, there are also gender differences in the organizational substructure of the image of the future. Surveyed 93 schoolchildren, students of the 10th grade of three Kemerovo schools on the basis of the diagnostic program including measurement the parameters of the organizational substructure of the image of the future and determining the representations of adolescents of different gender groups. On the sample of subjects in general, there is a tendency to show low personality activity, inconsistency of individual components of the attitude to yourself and the factors of life's meaningliness. At the same time, the girls oriented towards the future, but prone to internal conflict, the boys are more passive, poorly focused on the future, prone to experience of dissatisfaction in accepting oneself. Based on the results obtained, the prospects for further experimental work on shaping the future in the older adolescence are outlined.

Abstract:
Befitting oxygen's key role in life's processes, hypoxia engages multiple signaling systems that evoke pervasive adaptations. Using surrogate genetics in a powerful biological model, we dissect a poorly understood hypoxia-sensing and signal transduction system. Hypoxia triggers NO-dependent accumulation of cyclic GMP and translocation of cytoplasmic GFP-Relish (an NFκB/Rel transcription factor) to the nucleus in Drosophila S2 cells. An enzyme capable of eliminating NO interrupted signaling specifically when it was targeted to the mitochondria, arguing for a mitochondrial NO signal. Long pretreatment with an inhibitor of nitric oxide synthase (NOS), L-NAME, blocked signaling. However, addition shortly before hypoxia was without effect, suggesting that signaling is supported by the prior action of NOS and is independent of NOS action during hypoxia. We implicated the glutathione adduct, GSNO, as a signaling mediator by showing that overexpression of the cytoplasmic enzyme catalyzing its destruction, GSNOR, blocks signaling, whereas knockdown of this activity caused reporter translocation in the absence of hypoxia. In downstream steps, cGMP accumulated, and calcium-dependent signaling was subsequently activated via cGMP-dependent channels. These findings reveal the use of unconventional steps in an NO pathway involved in sensing hypoxia and initiating signaling.

Abstract:
For many years, the figure of Mikhail Nikolayevich Saakashvili evoked both positive and negative ratings of his political activity among the other world leaders. This ambiguous attitude towards the former Georgian leader cannot be unnoticed, so it seems interesting to us to study the personality of the former Georgian president. The main goal of the work was to analyze the political and psychological portrait of Mikhail Nikolayevich Saakashvili, in particular, how certain features of cognitive characteristics influenced the formation of the former leader of the Republic of Georgia as an individual, as well as her political decisions that influenced the country's external and internal course. The theoretical significance of the study lies in the use of certain methods of cognitive analysis, namely: operational coding and biography, coupled with the method of content analysis, in order to identify the interdependence of Saakashvili’s behavior in the political arena and its psychological characteristics built up over his life's journey. As the main result of the study, we can name a number of identified psychological traits of Mikhail Nikolaevich, directly affecting not only his life path in general, but also his political career in particular.

Abstract:
In today's fast-paced world, lifestyle disorders have become a significant concern, requiring individuals to make conscious changes to their daily habits. Yoga and spirituality are essential components in managing these disorders. Yoga is a potent tool for balancing the body's three fundamental energies, known as doshas. Various yoga practices can address different imbalances, while meditation and pranayama (breathing exercises) complement yoga to promote overall well-being. Yoga offers numerous benefits, including lifestyle modifications, healthy diet, regular activity, relaxation, and a positive attitude. Its psychosomatic effects, achieved through pranayama’s (breathing exercises) and yogic relaxation, also contribute to its benefits. Yoga emphasizes a healthy lifestyle, comprising four key components: Achar (healthy activities), Vichar (healthy thoughts), Ahar(healthy food), and Vihar (healthy recreation). The martial art of Pencak Silat consists of two distinct words, namely "Pencak" and "Silat." In the Indonesian Dictionary (KBBI), "pencak" refers to a game (skill) used for self-defense through the expertise of parrying, evading, and so on. On the other hand, "silat" means martial arts/self-defense, engaging in combat. From these definitions, Pencak Silat can be succinctly understood as a self-defense skill that involves the expertise of parrying, evading, attacking, and similar techniques used in combat. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the needs of students at Balung State High School for participating in the extracurricular activity of Pencak Silat Nur Harias. This study employs a qualitative research method. The results of this research indicate that participating in the Pencak Silat extracurricular activity helps students in making new friends, boosting their self-confidence, and achieving accomplishments. Consequently, Pencak Silat is not just a martial art but also a means to cultivate positive character traits, appreciate local wisdom, and reinforce Indonesian cultural identity. Pencak Silat is a traditional Indonesian martial art with strong cultural and spiritual values. Its goal is to defend, preserve, and attain life's harmony in order to enhance faith and devotion. Abstract:
Background: The AHA uses “Life’s Essential 8 (LE8)” to quantify cardiovascular health (CVH). These metrics assess eight essential components of nicotine exposure, sleep duration, physical activity, diet, body mass index, lipid levels, blood glucose, and blood pressure to calculate a CVH score. However, little is known about LE8 scores in patients with history of stroke compared to the general population. Methods: Data was included on individuals aged 18 and older who participated in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (NHANES) from 2005 to 2018. A LE8 score ranging from 0 (lowest) to 100 (highest) was calculated for all participants. Subscores of 0 to 100 points were also calculated for each of the metrics. The total LE and individual metric scores of participants with a self-reported history of stroke were compared to those who did not. The characteristics of all participants were stratified across age, gender, race/ethnicity, poverty/income ratio (PIR), education level, insurance status, alcohol consumption, high cholesterol, high high density lipoprotein, and histories of hypertension, diabetes, and/or myocardial infarction. Results: 1,019 participants self-reported a history of stroke of 27,670 total participants. When adjusted for age, sex, race/ethnicity, education and PIR, the mean LE8 score was significantly lower in those who reported a history of stroke at (59.2, 95% CI, 57.8-60.5) compared to those who did not (63.8, 95% CI, 63.4-64.2) in those who did not. Stroke survivors had significantly lower mean subscores in 6 of 8 metrics on nicotine exposure (range 66.2-71.5), blood glucose (range 70.8-74.7), physical activity (range 30.8-36.9), diet (range 35.3-40.1), sleep duration (range 73.3-77.7), and blood pressure (range 58-62.4) compared to other participants (p<.001). Conversely, stroke survivors had higher mean lipid subscore (range 66.8-71.6) compared to other participants (range 63.0-64.3). In contrast to general participants who showed improvements over time in smoking, lipid levels, and sleep subscores, stroke survivors did not exhibit significant changes over time in any of these scores. Conclusions: Stroke survivors have inferior overall cardiovascular health and lower total LE8 scores compared to the general population. More intensive and tailored secondary stroke interventions are necessary to ensure improvement in overall cardiovascular health among stroke survivors.

Abstract:
Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic has raised global income inequality. This study analyzes the association between personal income level and cardiovascular health matrix (CHM) utilizing AHA life’s essential 8 in Koreans. Methods: This study used the 2019-2021 Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. Those who have missing data for assessing Life’s essential 8 were excluded. A final total of 12,923 participants were enrolled in this study. We used Life's essential 8 CHM Metrix as exposure, defined by the AHA. Diet redefined them appropriately for the Korean population. The unweighted average of each CHM score was calculated, and the cardiovascular health assessment groups were categorized as "high (80-100)," "medium (50-79)," and "low (0-49)" and then subjected to logistic regression analysis. The results were adjusted for sex, age, education, drinking status, perceived stress, and family history of physician chronic disease diagnosis. Results: Score of diet, physical activity, nicotine exposure, sleep health, body mass index, blood glucose, and blood pressure were positively associated with personal income level (Figure 1). Compared to the middle CVH group and lower income level group, higher income levels were associated with being in the high CVH group before (OR 1.6, 95%CI 1.4-1.8) and after adjusted (OR 1.5, 95%CI 1.2-1.7) confounders. Conclusions: This study showed that personal income was positively associated with the total life’s essential 8 CVH score and individual factors of life’s essential 8. Our results imply that socioeconomic factors, specifically personal income levels, exert influence even within what is considered an individual's realm (diet, physical activity, nicotine exposure, sleep health, body mass index, blood glucose, blood pressure) of control.

Association of Small Differences in Life's Simple 7 and Mortality: the Reasons for Geographic and Racial Differences in Stroke (REGARDS) Cohort." Abstract:
Background. The AHA 2020 Goal includes improving cardiovascular health, defined using a metric consisting of 7 health factors, Life's Simple 7. A central concept of the goal is that small improvements in behavior / lifestyle factors at the population level will lead to large risk reductions over the life course. We developed a simple score to quantify Life's Simple 7 and evaluated the association of small differences in this score with all-cause mortality in REGARDS, a biracial national cohort. Methods. We studied 17,820 REGARDS participants without vascular diseases; black and white men and women aged 45-98 from across the US, enrolled in 2003-7, when extensive risk factor data were measured in participants' homes. The 7 components of Life's Simple 7 (blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, BMI, smoking, physical activity, diet) were each scored in AHA-defined categories of poor (1 point), intermediate (2 points) and ideal (3 points), and were summed to yield scores ranging from poor for all (7) to ideal for all (21). With 4.6 years follow up there were 2319 deaths. Results. The score was normally distributed with mean (SD) of 13.5 (2.6). The age, sex and race-hazard ratio (HR) of death for a 1-unit increase in Simple 7 Score was 0.86 (95% CI 0.84, 0.87). There was no impact of further adjustment for income and education. Considering only the 4 behavior/lifestyle score components (BMI, smoking, physical activity, diet), the adjusted HR per 1 unit higher score was 0.79 (95% CI 0.77, 0.81). Conclusions. A small incremental difference, corresponding to improvement of 1 category (poor to intermediate or intermediate to ideal) for 1 component of Life's Simple 7 Score was associated with substantial reduction in 4.6-year all cause mortality. The association was larger considering only the 4 behavioral/lifestyle components. Results suggest profound implications of achieving the 2020 Goal that 20% of people improve by 1 level of this metric.

Abstract:
Background The association of a healthy lifestyle with the prognosis of type 2 diabetes remains uncertain. We aimed to evaluate the associations of a healthy lifestyle and a higher American Heart Association's Life's Essential 8 score with incident macrovascular and microvascular diseases in type 2 diabetes. Methods and Results A total of 13 543 participants with baseline type 2 diabetes and free of macrovascular and microvascular diseases from the UK Biobank were included. A healthy lifestyle was determined based on body mass index, smoking, alcohol consumption, physical activity, sleep duration, and diet. Life's Essential 8 scores were generated from 8 metrics according to the American Heart Association's cardiovascular health advisory, ranging from 0 to 100. During a median follow‐up of 12.1 years, 3279 (24.2%) incident macrovascular diseases and 2557 (18.9%) microvascular diseases were documented. Compared with those with a poor lifestyle, participants with an ideal lifestyle had significantly lower risks of incident macrovascular disease (hazard ratio [HR], 0.46 [95% CI, 0.36–0.59]) and microvascular disease (HR, 0.60 [95% CI, 0.47–0.77]). Significantly lower risks of macrovascular disease (HR, 0.20 [95% CI, 0.05‐0.79]) and microvascular disease (HR, 0.24 [95% CI, 0.06‐0.98]) were also found in the high cardiovascular health group (Life's Essential 8 scores: 80–100), compared to the low cardiovascular health group (scores: 0–49). Adhering to an ideal lifestyle may prevent 37.0% of macrovascular disease and 24.7% of microvascular disease, and attaining a high cardiovascular health may prevent 71.9% of macrovascular disease and 67.5% of microvascular disease. Conclusions A healthy lifestyle and a higher Life's Essential 8 score were associated with lower risks of macrovascular and microvascular diseases among participants with type 2 diabetes.
