Three features of early life course of Americans and Europeans during the twentieth century are of note: (1) the increased age-grading of transitions; (2) the closer spacing of different transitions, and (3) the more extensive overlap between economic and family transitions. Historical changes in the structure of individual life histories have been interpreted alternatively, as a consequence of industrialization and urbanization, or as the result of rising levels of the family and personal incomes available for consumption and investment in human capital skills. In scientific literature, migration and life-course transition events were shown to be related. The context of migration was selected as a crucial area of study since it was seen that migration occurred as people changed from one role to another, or entered a life stage throughout their lives. The life-course transition was examined in this scoping review as a factor influencing migration. Transition events across life-courses are analyzed from developmental psychology and life-course perspectives. Abstract During their life course, many older adults encounter a transition between care settings, for example, a permanent move into long-term residential care. This care transition is a complex and often fragmented process, which is associated with an increased risk of negative health outcomes, rehospitalisation, and even mortality. Therefore, care transitions should be avoided where possible and the process for necessary transitions should be optimised to ensure continuity of care. Developmental transitions are experienced throughout the life-span and necessitate adapting to significant and unpredictable changes (Heckhausen et al., 2010; Perry, 2003). The shift from high school to university in young adulthood serves as an exemplar of how these challenging junctures can undermine motivation and well-being. Recent evidence suggests that most (85%) young adults making this transition feel overwhelmed, half (50%) experience immense anxiety (ACHA, 2012), and more than one quarter (28%) withdraw from their institutions by the end of their first year (Snyder & Dillow, 2013).

Abstract:
The first generation of nuclear power plants (NPP) parts, components, equipment and systems have completed their predicted trouble free operational life. Now their materials are posing fatigue and aging effects for the future useful applications in the NPP. For the reliable future operations, this study is made for the management of the fatigue and aging effects on the components/systems. The neutron irradiation and normal aging phenomena will cause deterioration in the properties of materials by increasing brittleness-ductile transition temperature. This would affect the reactor pressure vess

At present, all over the globe, great changes are taking place in every area of life, which have affected the entire world population. The COVID-19 pandemic has become a sudden fitcheck not only for global health community: educational institutions almost all over the world were forced to switch to a new format of distance learning. Such a rapid transition to distance learning has become a difficult challenge for many universities. Difficulties and inconsistencies of both technical and psychological nature arose. Abstract:
This brief discusses the opportunities linked to using a life-course approach to devise policies to foster sustainable consumption. It considers the potential of life-course transitions to catalyse shifts towards more sustainable consumption. It draws on a study conducted among older adults in Bangkok about their transportation choices and experiences. The work that underpins the brief is part of a wider effort to explore related issues of consumption, lifestyles, and ageing in a low-middle-income setting, and to understand the role that transportation systems can play.

Abstract:
This field report provides detailed information on the methodological approach as well as on the process of data collection and analysis in EIWO project III – “Mechanisms and Origins of Late Working Life Exclusion”. EIWO project III is part of the qualitative part of the EIWO programme and is – together with EIWO project VI, VII, and VIII from phase II – one of the four projects in which primary data is collected. EIWO uses a mixed-methods approach in its nine sub-projects, so that quantitative and qualitative methods are used in combination to investigate – from a life course perspective – th

Abstract:
Large-scale survey data is widely used to study the intention to have a(nother) child. However, there are further opportunities to understand how these intentions are revised over the life course and the uncertainty surrounding them. We aim to further outline the importance of simultaneously considering change and uncertainty in fertility decision-making. Specifically, we identify uncertainty in the “probably not” and “probably yes” responses to questions on whether an individual intends to have a(nother) child, and compare the differences in individuals’ stated intention between survey waves.
