SUMMARYA new approach to generating smooth piecewise local trajectories for mobile robots is proposed in this paper. Given the configurations (position and direction) of two points, we search for the trajectory that minimizes the integral of acceleration (tangential and normal). The resulting trajectory should not only be smooth but also safe in order to be applicable in real-life situations. Therefore, we investigate two different obstacle-avoidance constraints that satisfy the minimization problem. Neurotransmitters are endogenous chemical messengers that play crucial roles in the transmission, enhancement and conversion of specific signals between neurons and other cells and are considered biomarkers of neurodegenerative diseases.[1] Neurodegenerative diseases cause progressive loss of cognitive and/or motor function and, as life expectancy rises, they imply major challenges for societies with rapidly aging populations.[2] As a result, monitoring neurotransmitters is becoming increasingly relevant in clinical environments. Acetylcholine (Ach) is a neurotransmitter that plays a key role

Development of a solar collector for drying agricultural products, particularly vegetables, was designed, constructed and evaluated. The primary objective of the study was to tackle the issue prevalent in many existing solar dryers, which are predominantly stationary and consequently fail to optimize their power output potential. Therefore, a solar tracking device was formulated and constructed to trace the sun's trajectory, ensuring the generation of the highest attainable power and increase the energy harvested and thereby optimizing the amount of energy received. With the rapid growth of smart terminals and multimedia applications, traditional cellular networks are facing the challenges of spectrum shortage and increasing energy consumption. Because of their capability to construct high-probability line-of-sight wireless propagation, on-demand deployment, as well as flexible mobility, drones have been employed extensively as airborne base stations to augment ground cellular networks in many circumstances. However, the battery life of drones limits their duration in the air, so energy consumption needs to be carefully managed to ensure that drones still

Drift models are commonly used to study the transport of early life stages of fish and other marine organisms. Various approaches may be applied to examine the distribution and variability of ocean trajectory pathways. In the present study, we compare results using passive Eulerian tracers and Lagrangian float trajectories that are embedded in numerical models. We supplement this analysis by applying an offline model for drift computations. The contrasts in the results from the various configurations are mainly due to differences in drift depth. I briefly mention my early undergraduate life and the problems it posed for getting into graduate school. I describe the unique circumstances that led me to Allan Wagner's laboratory and changed my career trajectory. My path to the hippocampus began with a decision to study memory development. This led to a collaboration with Rob Sutherland that produced the configural theory of the hippocampus. The idea was that the hippocampus facilitated

However, current theoretical perspectives on relationships fall short of comprehensively grasping increasingly diverse and fluid relationship types (e.g., friends with benefits, polyamory, living‐apart‐together, coparenting, etc.) and patterns of change. In an attempt to meet the need for more integrative and interdisciplinary theorizing, this paper introduces a first outline of relationship course theory to better comprehend the complexity of relationships. Referring to this phenomenon as ‘bachelor villages’, scholars have identified this as an emerging social problem with wide far-reaching implications for gender relations and social life in general. In this article, I draw from several months of fieldwork from 2019 to assess professional subjectivity in the software industry of Canada. I argue that the ways in which subjects understand and feel about their productivity says a great deal about how power is ‘willfully’ negotiated within everyday professional tech settings of neoliberal societies. My findings suggest that optimization is emerging as a technology of self among the individuals I studied, and bringing political consequences. In the first section of
