Light induced degradation is an unfortunate characteristic of a very commonly used silicon material for solar cells: boron-doped Czochralski silicon. The degradation is attributed to a recombination center that is activated by excess charge carriers, i.e. electrons, and the energy conversion efficiency of the affected cells is severely reduced. The phenomenon has been known since the early 1970's but the fundamental mechanism is still a debated topic. The main focus of this thesis has been to study the role of the excess carrier concentration on the B-O related defect center generation and a n

A significant proportion appears in the form of waste and is discarded into the environment. Most of them are recalcitrant to biodegradation and conventional chemical oxidation using oxidants. In this project, the decomposition of various PEG (e.g., PEG 2000, PEG 4000, PEG 6000, and PEG 20000) by means of visible-light photocatalytic degradation has been studied. Photocatalytic nanocrystalline neat TiO2 powders were prepared from alkoxide solutions via the sol-ge

碩士
國立臺灣大學
環境工程學研究所
85
This research used solar irradiation as the UV source to degrade 2,4-dichlorophenol in water. The solar photocatalytic reactor was constructed by packing four types of supported catalysts (1 wt% TiO2/glass beads, 1 wt% TiO2/silica gel, 1 wt% Pt/TiO2/silica gel, and 1 wt% Pt/TiO2/glass beads) into quartz tubes. To investigate the influence on the destruction rates of 2,4-dichlorophenol (2,4-DCP), the following factors were examined: (a) supported catalyst ty

New emerging contaminants could represent a danger to the environment and Humanity with repercussions not yet known. One of the major worldwide pharmaceutical and personal care productions are antimicrobials products, triclosan, is an antimicrobial agent present in most products. Despite the high removal rate of triclosan present in wastewater treatments, triclosan levels are on the rise in the environment through disposal of wastewater effluent and use of sewage sludge in land application. Regulated in the EC/1272/2008 (annex VI, table 3.1), this compound is considered very toxic to aquatic l
