Throughout its history, this nation has opened its doors to people who, for more reasons than anyone can count, have needed new homes. It has taken us in, given us new lives. Adopted us.Dave and Susan brought five-year-old Liliana home from Romania in January. The couple was ecstatic about their new beautiful blonde-haired daughter. They had waited months for Liliana after beginning the international adoption process with a reputable agency based in the United States. Many aspects of the process—carrying large amounts of cash to Romania, bribing officials to release their new daughter from the orphanage and the total lack of information about Liliana's health or background—had disturbed them. Dave and Susan were relieved when Liliana received a visa to travel to the United States because they thought that the physical examination for her visa had revealed nothing of import. Their concerns disappeared when they boarded the plane to head home to the United States. Liliana seemed healthy and happy, and she would adjust in no time.

Media sosial saat ini selain sebagai media berkomunikasi dan berinteraksi, tetapi juga mendatangkan suatu fenomena baru sebagai wadah dalam melakukan personal branding. Salah satu media sosial yang sering digunakan dalam melakukan personal branding adalah Instagram. Kevin Liliana melalui akun Instagramnya @kevinlln melakukan pemanfaatan fitur pada Instagram untuk menampilkan identitas dirinya sebagai seorang Miss International 2017. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana personal branding yang dilakukan oleh Kevin Liliana selaku Miss International 2017 dengan memanfaatkan media sosial Instagram. Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma konstruktivisme yang bertujuan untuk menafsirkan makna-makna yang dimiliki oleh informan tentang suatu fenomena personal branding yang dilakukan oleh Kevin Liliana selaku Miss International 2017 yang terdapat pada fitur Instagram. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian ini berupa observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kevin Liliana mendasari personal branding-nya secara authentic, dimana terdapat keselarasan antara apa yang ia tampilkan di media sosial dan kehidupan aslinya. Personal branding yang Kevin Liliana tampilkan sebagai Miss International 2017 yaitu sebagai beauty queen yang soft, humble, dan menonjolkan sisi behavior-nya. Kevin Liliana membangun personal branding melalui Instagram pribadinya @kevinlln ini tidak hanya berupa mengunggah konten personal branding, tetapi juga dengan berinteraksi dengan para pengikutnya melalui fitur Instagram agar pesan personal branding-nya dapat lebih cepat dan mudah tersampaikan. Secara keseluruhan, Kevin Liliana berhasil melakukan personal branding di media sosial Instagram, walaupun terdapat kekurangan, seperti engagement pada konten kegiatan sosialnya tidak lebih banyak mendapat respon seperti like dan comment dari pengguna lain.

Abstract:
Lo scopo del presente elaborato è la proposta di traduzione in italiano di Nuestro mundo muerto, una raccolta di otto racconti dell’autrice boliviana Liliana Colanzi, considerata una delle promesse della letteratura latinoamericana contemporanea. Il primo capitolo offre un’analisi dettagliata dell’opera: partendo da una breve biografia dell’autrice e da una trattazione concisa delle altre sue opere pubblicate, si concentra sulla trama dei singoli racconti, sull’analisi tematica della raccolta, sullo stile dell’autrice, nonché sull’esposizione delle caratteristiche del castellano di Bolivia riscontrabili nel testo. Il secondo capitolo è costituito da una breve trattazione delle divisioni sociali ed etniche che sono proprie della Bolivia e che permeano ogni pagina dei racconti. Una breve descrizione del mito del mestizaje, l’incrocio di razze offerto come soluzione fallimentare al problema etnico, è seguito da un’ampia definizione del termine cholo e dalla spiegazione della distinzione etnica tra camba e colla. Infine, un paragrafo a parte è dedicato alla popolazione indigena degli ayoreo, con particolare attenzione al lavoro dell’etnologo Lucas Bessire, citato dall’autrice, che denuncia la devastazione della loro cultura e del loro territorio. Il terzo capitolo propone la traduzione degli otto racconti, con l’aggiunta di un glossario dei termini del testo legati in maniera particolare alla cultura di partenza. Il quarto capitolo è di commento alla traduzione. Per quanto non sia possibile definire una strategia di traduzione globale, l’obiettivo di fondo è stato quello di mantenere l’alterità del testo e le sue specificità culturali, oltre che il rispetto dello stile dell’autrice. L’appendice riporta l’intervista a Liliana Colanzi svolta durante la stesura dell’elaborato.

Abstract:
In this thesis, I am utilizing Liliana Cavani’s controversial 1974 film The Night Porter to acknowledge the significance of pornography in historical representation and memory work as related to the Holocaust. I will discuss the importance of representations rooted in the corporeal and relegated to the obscene and argue that the term pornography is used in academic, political and popular circumstances to attack texts that disrupt or threaten a dominant, pre-existing understanding of the world. Having been largely misunderstood for the last three decades (and criticized by major scholars, including Michel Foucault, Susan Sontag and Primo Levi), Ii Night Porter uses the languages of pornography and masochism to initiate a forceful historical dialogue that calls for a re-evaluation of the criteria used to gage and evaluate the past. The Night Porter argues that culture consoles itself in simplistic, “moral” readings of history. It subsequently attacks the concept of post-Holocaust redemption and issues related to the reassurances of redemptive logic with which culture has long kept itself warm. I propose pornography to be disruptive when placed alongside historical representation because it gestures to historical dialogues that dominant discourses are fearful of having. The film is complicated further by the fact that it was marketed, not as contemplative art cinema, but as kinky pornography by its American distributor. The Night Porter however, comes with even more problematic implications, including a cycle of low-rent sexploitation films that depict sensationalized and inept representations of concentration camps. The most notorious examples are Gestapo’s Last Orgy and SS Experiment Love Camp — ripoffs of The Night Porter that, until recently, have been banned or otherwise unavailable. My discussion of pornography and the obscene is complicated by Nazi sexploitation insofar that they follow the same narrative trajectory as The Night Porter, but carry with them very different ontological implications. I will conclude my thesis with an examination of these films in an effort to acknowledge the pornographic as a cultural necessity with regard to engaging in dialogue with, and reconciling, history.

El estudio de las acciones artísticas La Papa y Uni-forme Ejercicio para Re/acordar responde a una necesidad de ampliar la bibliografía académica desarrollada hasta el momento acerca del arte acción peruano. El trabajo de Liliana Albornoz resulta interesante y necesario, pues cada una de sus piezas reúne elementos característicos de la identidad peruana, tratando, simultáneamente, temas de violencia política y discriminación hacia la mujer. Es así que su obra se enmarca dentro del arte acción realizado por mujeres latinoamericanas que desarrollan y exploran el tema del cuerpo, la mujer y la violencia perpetrada por organismos de poder. El trabajo de la mujer en arte acción es particularmente importante, pues el hecho de que presente su cuerpo de manera pública, más aún de una forma irreverente que juega con los roles tradicionalmente asociados e impuestos a ella es, de por sí, un acto de cuestionamiento de los mandatos de género patriarcales que rigen la sociedad. En el presente estudio analizo cómo, a través del cuerpo, la acción desplegada y la relación entre la artista y la audiencia, elementos que conforman las acciones, éstas cuestionan el silencio, la pasividad y la sumisión, condiciones atribuidas a la mujer. La artista busca activar a los espectadores, para establecer una relación horizontal entre todos los miembros que forman parte de la acción escénica. El cuerpo y la acción, presentadas en La Papa y en Uni-forme Ejercicio para Re/acordar, activan la percepción multiespacial de los espectadores, resultando una experiencia en la cual, tanto artista como participantes, transforman e integran su cuerpo y su mente, para transformar los roles dentro de la acción escénica

Abstract:
Plataforma internacional iberoamericana de co-investigación en arte tecnológico, propone la articulación entre Geopoética, prácticas artísticas, memoria y nuevos medios. Se configura como organismo vivo, distribuido, en permanente co-elaboración, actuando en el campo de las narrativas artísticas contemporáneas a partir de las experiencias performativas, interactivas y multisensoriales entre territorios. El proyecto HolosCi(u)dad(e) es el resultado del proceso de investigación y creación poética, emerge de un hacer co-autoral, y opera con base en concepciones deleuzeanas de devenir y multiplicidad, y de autopoiesis propuestas por Maturana y Varela (1994). HolosCi(u)dad(e) está coordenado por la artista y investigadora Lilian Amaral (Media Lab UFG) resultado de la propuesta de curaduría de Residencia Artística Ecosistemas Transversales y Conectividad - Holos, celebrada en el V Simposio Internacional de Innovación en Medios Interactivos, Media Lab/UFG, Brasil. HolosCi[u]dad[e] reúne elementos audiovisuales que emergen de cartografías sonoras y visuales urbanas, estableciendo conexión entre los diversos núcleos de investigación actuantes en contexto iberoamericano. Se apropia de la estructura “Paredão” automotriz como "dispositivo intensificador de experiencias", investigación realizada por la artista e investigadora Laurita Salles (UFRN / Media Lab UFG). La obra performativa utilizó la estructura de una camioneta automotriz sonorizada, presentada en área externa del Museo Nacional de la Ciudad de Brasilia. En la apertura del Simposio Internacional # 17ART y de la exposición En Medio # 10, integrando registros visuales y sonoros creados y proyectados durante el desempeño de apertura, con la participación de la Orquesta de Laptops, UnB. Al apropiarse de sonidos oriundos de los territorios donde están ubicados los núcleos de investigación - Brasil, Uruguay, Colombia, España e China, HolosCi(u)dad(e) - http://holos.espai214.org/ - adquiere una dimensión golcal (ANJOS, 2005), en que una nueva orden mundial altera las formas de representación de identidades y cultura, a partir del espacio practicado (CERTEAU, 1994; SANTOS, 2000), cargado de memoria (MARTIN-BARBERO,2017), configurando un lugar utópico, convergente. Se refiere al pasaje del modelo de "posesión y custodia" al de "acceso y compartir".

Abstract:
Introdução: O transplante de células-tronco hematopoéticas (TCTH) haploidêntico é realizado entre receptores e doadores que compartilham apenas um haplótipo HLA, apresentando 50% ou um pouco mais de compatibilidade. A doação geralmente é realizada pelos pais ou irmãos do paciente. Esse tipo de transplante está cada vez mais presente nos centros transplantadores brasileiros, devido a imediata disponibilidade do doador e seu baixo custo comparado ao transplante alogênico não aparentado. Objetivo: Descrever a evolução do TCTH haploidêntico e realizar uma análise comparativa com os demais métodos de transplante de células-tronco hematopoiéticas. Material e métodos: Foi realizada uma abrangente revisão bibliográfica sobre o tema, utilizando como base de dados o MEDLINE, SciELO e LILIACS. Resultados: O TCTH haploidêntico mostra resultados compatíveis àqueles observados em outros tipos de transplante de medula óssea. Apesar de apresentar maiores taxas de infecções virais e fúngicas em relação ao HLA-compatível aparentado, o TCTH haploidêntico possui atualmente índices satisfatórios de Doença do Enxerto Contra o Hospedeiro (DECH), sobretudo quando utilizada a profilaxia com ciclofosfamida pós-transplante ou empregadas novas técnicas de manipulação de enxerto. Por fim, o desfecho adequado do TCTH haploidêntico envolve a seleção do melhor doador disponível. Embora não haja consenso sobre o parâmetro de escolha, as incompatibilidades no sistema HLA entre receptor e doador não parecem ser um fator determinante para o insucesso do tratamento. Conclusão: Publicações recentes têm demonstrado formas efetivas de superar a histocompatibilidade parcial presente nos TCTH haploidênticos, caracterizando essa modalidade de transplante uma opção de tratamento com taxas de sobrevida e complicações semelhantes ao transplante com doadores não-aparentados HLA-compatível.
