Abstract:
Lime and biochar amendments are widely used to immobilize cadmium (Cd) in agricultural soils and to ensure food security. However, the effects of these two soil amendments on the mechanisms of Cd stress alleviation in crops are unclear. Therefore, the effects of lime and biochar applications on Cd uptake, transport, subcellular distribution, antioxidant system, N metabolism, and related factors were examined in a soil-Brassica napus L. (B. napus) system. We found that lime application significantly increased the root Cd content by 41.5% but decreased Cd TF and shoot Cd by 81.0% and 74.3%, resp

Acid sulfate soils are of poor quality and characterized by extreme acidity, nutrient deficiency, and high Al and Fe toxicity. Developing soil amendments from local resources is crucial to reduce input costs. This study investigated the effect of the integrated soil amendments (biochar, compost, and lime) on corn growth and the acid sulfate soil quality. Using randomized block design, this study tested nine type soil amendments, namely A (100% rice husk ash), B (100% rice husk biochar), C (100% compost), D (100% dolomite), H (100% humate), ACD (30% rice husk ash + 30% compost + 40% dolomite),

Copper (Cu)-based fungicides have been an important tool against disease in viticulture since the 19th century. However, their prolonged use can lead to Cu accumulation in the soil and negatively affect soil microbiology and plant growth. The application of biochar (BC)-based amendments is a promising mitigation strategy, due to BC’s longevity in the soil and its potential to complex Cu. This study investigated temporal changes in the efficiency of various compost- and BC-based amendments to immobilize Cu in a calcareous and a slightly acidic Austrian vineyard soil. Iodine loss is common in the soil of hilly regions due to higher precipitation rates and steeper slopes. Iodine deficiency in soil reduces iodine’s bioavailability to fruits and vegetables and consequently may contribute to health complications. However, the iodine retention of soils after the addition of selected organic and inorganic amendments has not been studied. Therefore, a study was carried out to investigate iodine loss during surface runoff. Common means to stabilize the phenomenon comprise modifications in the stiffness or modeshapes of the propeller/rotor bearing structure and thus a major design amendment. I

In July 2022, unprecedented demonstrations took place in Uzbekistan’s Autonomous Republic of Karakalpakstan. These demonstrations followed proposed constitutional amendments which would remove Karakalpakstan’s right to freely secede from the Uzbek Republic. Thousands of Karakalpaks joined together for peaceful demonstrations to protest against the changes concerning their homeland. Tashkent reacted in line with what seems to have become a Central Asian formula: military troops were sent to suppress the demonstrations, which led to multiple deaths and injuries; the Internet was shut down; curfe

Abstract:
As a pro-Second Amendment movement, the Boogaloo Boys are easily recognizable because of their Hawaiian-themed Aloha shirts and masks along with their semiautomatic weapons. Having the basic characteristics of anti-establishment far-right populists and seeing the outbreak of violence as something like a party, typically accelerationist Boogaloo Boys use these Hawaiian shirts to hide their intention to trigger a civil war to overthrow what they regard as a corrupt establishment in the US.

Abstract:
This essay discusses the rationale for economic charter change through the lens of services reform and identifies three issues with the current proposal of Congress: the retention of the legislative franchise requirement, the exclusion of mass media from the scope of the amendments, and the choice of the liberalization approach. To harness the full potential of services as an engine of economic growth and development in the 21st century, the paper recommends addressing these issues and removing all the specific restrictions that have been locked in the 1987 Constitution, namely: Art.
