Abstract:
Since their conception in the 1960s, panel codes have remained a critical tool in the design and development of air vehicles. With continued advancement in computational technologies, today's codes are able to solve flow fields around arbitrary bodies more quickly and with higher fidelity than those that preceded them. Panel codes prove most useful during the conceptual design phase of an air vehicle, allowing engineers to iterate designs, and generate full solutions of the flow field around a vehicle in a matter of seconds to minutes instead of hours to days using traditional CFD methods. The first part of the thesis focuses on developing a numerical methodology to simulate the acoustic properties of a hybrid liner consisting of a perforated plate, a porous layer and a Helmholtz cavity. Liners are always a standard way to reduce noise in today’s aeroengines, e.g. the fan noise can be reduced effectively through the installation of acoustic liners as wall treatments in the ducts. In order to optimize a liner in the design phase, an accurate and efficient prediction tool is of interests. Research into observer design for non-linear discrete-time systems has produced many design methods. There is no general design method however and that provides the motivation to search for a new simple and realizable design method. In this thesis, an observer for non-linear discrete-time systems is designed using the sliding mode technique. The equation of the observer error is split into two parts; the first part being a linearized model of the system and the second part an uncertain vector. The sliding mode technique is introduced to eliminate the uncertainty caused by the uncertain vector

Reactive power control and globally optimal inverter coordination in real-time is computationally and communication-wise demanding, whereas the local Volt-VAR or Watt-VAR control rules are subpar for enhanced grid service

碩士<br>元智大學<br>電機與資訊工程研究所<br>87<br>As is well known, GMSK is a spectral and power efficient modulation scheme that is adopted by the GSM system. However, the non-linearity of GMSK often brings about difficulties in design and analysis. In view of this, we first base on the linear approximation GMSK (Gaussian-filtered Minimum Shift Keying) signals model proposed by Laurent [1], and utilize it to derive a linearly approximated GMSK signals model for replacing the traditional GMSK model. More specificcally, a linearized SI4O (single input and four outputs) model and associated rece

The microstructure of concrete contains random features over a wide range of length scales in which each length scale possess a new random composite. The influence of individual material constituents at different scales and their mutual interactions are responsible for the formation of fracture process zone (FPZ). The presence of the FPZ and the various toughening mechanism occurring in it, influences the fatigue and fracture behavior of concrete which also gets influenced by the geometry, spacial distribution and material properties of individual material constituents and their mutual intera

博士<br>華梵大學<br>機電工程研究所<br>95<br>This dissertation contains two parts. One is the analysis of noise performance of charge-pump phase- locked loops (CPPLLs) under continuous-time models. The other is the stability analysis of CPPLLs using discrete-time models. In the first part, we derive the upper bound of the phase-jitter variance of second-order and third-order CPPLLs. We employ the simple linear model in the beginning and integrate the power spectral density functions from different noise sources to determine the closed form for an upper bound of the phase-jitter variance. The three dimensional Monte Carlo radiation transport model McArtim is extended to account for the simulation of the propagation of polarized radiation and the inelastic rotational Raman scattering which is the cause of the so called Ring effect. From the achieved and now sufficient precision of the calculated Ring effect new opportunities in optical absorption spectroscopy arise. In the calculation the method of importance sampling (IS) is applied. Thereby one obtains from an ensemble of Monte Carlo photon trajectories an intensity accounting for the elastic aerosol particle-, Cabannes- a

碩士<br>國立臺灣大學<br>流行病學研究所<br>92<br>The maximum likelihood estimates (MLEs) of the regression coefficients in generalized linear models (GLMs) are usually obtained by an iterative reweighted least squares (IRLS) algorithm (Charnes, Frome, and Yu 1976). In this study, we find that at the end of the last iteration of the IRLS algorithm, an equivalent linear regression representation of a GLM can also be obtained. This finding is not only very interesting in its own rights, but it provides us with a useful tool to linearize GLMs for model fitting purposes. By making use of the dual role of the IRLS
