Abstract:
Lo stanziarsi dei Greci in terra di Cirenaica nella seconda metà del VII secolo a.C. e la loro ininterrotta permanenza nella regione fino al tramonto della civiltà antica hanno dato luogo ad una mirabile fioritura di civiltà che noi conosciamo grazie alle testimonianze archeologiche, alla letteratura e alla cospicua messe dei documenti epigrafici: uno sviluppo civile tanto più sorprendente, per la sua ampiezza e ricchezza, ove si consideri l'isolamento in cui la popolazione greca è venuta a trovarsi — dal punto di vista geografico — rispetto alla restante nazione greca e ove si pensi alla forte e continua pressione cui la stessa fu sottoposta, d'altra parte, ad opera della popolazione indigena. Infatti i Greci non furono i soli ad abitare la regione: essi occuparono, arrivando, una terra già abitata da una popolazione libica, mentre successivamente — in età ellenistica — sopraggiunse una forte comunità ebraica; infine è da registrare una presenza romano-italica, pure abbastanza consistente, documentata per via epigrafica (vd. sotto) a partire dal I sec. a.C.La superiore civiltà greca esercitò un forte influsso sulla popolazione libica, o almeno su una parte di essa, e su quella ebraica, che furono più o meno profondamente ellenizzate: tanto che è possibile rintracciare — attraverso l'onomastica — una varia presenza di individui libici ed ebraici nell'epigrafia greca della Cirenaica (Masson 1976; Lüderitz 1983), che ne attesta anche l'avvicinarsi ad alcune istituzioni cittadine. Per contro non abbiamo, almeno finora, una autonoma produzione epigrafica Ubica o semitica dalla regione.

Il contributo che scrittrici triestine e austriache di origine ebraica hanno rispettivamente offerto alla cultura otto-novecentesca è oggetto del presente lavoro. Si sono prese in esame e sottoposte ad analisi comparativa le opere di autrici ebree triestine e di altrettante scrittrici ebree austriache. Tra le triestine, la cui identità ebraica si è affievolita, vi sono autrici che hanno svolto attività giornalistica, manifestato aspirazioni irredentistiche, scritto opere per un pubblico femminile e per l’infanzia, che non hanno superato l’usura del tempo. Diversamente dalle colleghe triestine, talune scrittrici austriache, femministe, giornaliste, pedagogiste o attiviste politiche hanno scritto testi che a tutt’oggi offrono spunti di riflessione. The object of this work is the contribution offered to the culture of XIX and XX centuries by women writers from Trieste and Austria.The works by Jewish authors from Trieste and Austria have been examined and a comparative analysis has been carried out.Among the women writers from Trieste, whose identity was wakened, there are authors who carried out journalism, shown irredentism aspiration, wrote works for women and for children that didn’t overcome the passing of time. Unlike other colleagues from Trieste, some Austrian authors, who were feminists, journalists, pedagogists or political activists, wrote some text that, even nowadays, are offering some reflections

Abstract:
Il nostro studio ha come obiettivo generale quello di indagare le questioni riguardanti la didattica dell’italiano ad adulti attraverso tecnologie, attraverso la letteratura e attraverso i luoghi che una città mette a disposizione. Cerchiamo di delineare quali siano le necessità dell’insegnamento linguistico oggi in rapporto ai cambiamenti condizionati dai giovani e dalle tecnologie in un’epoca anche di cultura digitale. Trattiamo delle caratteristiche dell’ipermedia che riteniamo uno strumento importante in ambito didattico. Nello specifico discutiamo la scelta della tecnologia ipermediale nella didattica della lingua e la scelta di strutturare un ipermedia su una città in quanto sede di una didattica esperienziale e luogo motivazionale. Cercheremo di evidenziare gli aspetti innovativi, e coerenti con il mondo ipermediale che ci circonda, di un insegnamento linguistico che si avvale di ipermedia città e letteratura. La finalità è di fornire un percorso di insegnamento linguistico che aggreghi nuove tecnologie, nuovi apprendenti e insegnamento tradizionale.

Abstract:
La Bukowina è una regione dell’impero asburgico ricordata come “eccezionale” per la compresenza e la tolleranza fra etnie, nonché per l’accoglienza unica della lingua tedesca. Questa narrazione proviene e dai nostalgici ricordi delle ultime generazioni di abitanti del luogo, che in seguito hanno vissuto la fine del “mondo di ieri”; e da un discorso propagandistico della Corona. La presente ricerca si propone di illustrare il paesaggio culturale della Bukowina nonché le reali modalità con cui la cultura dell’imperatore si insinuò nella regione. Nel decodificare il rapporto di superiorità con cui il tedesco si affacciava agli altri popoli – investigato con l’ausilio dei postcolonial studies –, il progetto propone come materia di studio un fenomeno letterario in voga a cavallo tra XIX e XX secolo, la “letteratura etnografica”, ispirato dall’affascinante molteplicità della Bukowina, nonché da una disciplina accademica che in quegli anni attirava molti studiosi e curiosi: l’etnografia. Questo tipo di letteratura si esprime attraverso diversi generi letterari, che spesso condividono il tratto della frammentarietà. Tra queste opere, la presente analisi si sofferma su tre esempi che mostrano un progressivo allontanamento dal metodo “scientifico” della disciplina etnografica, illustrando l’ampiezza dell’insieme “letteratura etnografica”: "Die Völkergruppen der Bukowina" (1884) di Ludwig Adolf Staufe Simiginowicz; "Aus Halb-Asien" (1876-1888) di Karl Emil Franzos; "Maghrebinische Geschichten" (1953), di Gregor von Rezzori.
The Bukovina region is recorded as a paradigm for the Habsburg mythical tolerance towards ethnicities and as a “German phenomenon”, since the emperor’s language was accepted here in such a welcoming way like in no other periphery. This narration comes on one side from the nostalgic memories of the inhabitants of the last generation, who later faced the end of “the world of yesterday”; on the other, from the propagandistic political discourse of the Monarchy. This study aims to illustrate the cultural landscape of the region and the actual way in which German language insinuated itself in the local social structure, trying to shed light on the reality behind the myth. By decoding the dominant position of German culture with the aid of postcolonial studies, the project presents as a subject of investigation a literary phenomenon at the turn of the 19th and the 20th century: “ethnographic literature”. In particular, the research focuses on three case studies, which are different in genre and observational approach towards the others: Ludwig Adolf Staufe Simiginowicz’ "Die Völkergruppen der Bukowina" (1884); Karl Emil Franzos’ "Aus Halb-Asien" (1876-1888); Gregor von Rezzori’s "Maghrebinische Geschichten" (1953).

Abstract:
The research is part of the linguistic studies related to the Italian literature of migration. The First Part traces the history of these studies, from the first critical essays in the Nineties, up to the most recent developments, observed during the three-year doctoral period. Thirty years after the birth of a literature produced by migrants in Italy, it can be seen that criticism has highlighted some problematic issues, such as editing, as well as the role of co-authors and curators who accompany migrant authors during the drafting of the text in Italian. Over the last decade new paths have been taken, mainly focused on the study of lexicon and phraseology, which have revealed the presence of neologisms, the frequent use of similes, metaphors and proverbs. Noteworthy is also the widespread presence in these works of “migratismi”: untranslatable voices, designating foods, clothes, objects and traditions typical of migrant’s cultures of origin. One of the main objectives of this work is to understand whether these words are occasional or destined to take root in Italian, due to contact with the languages of migrants. First of all, the analysis of “migratismi” required the formation of a corpus: the chapters of Second Part present and discuss the reasons and criteria underlying the constitution of the corpus. Given the impossibility of considering the totality of migrant writings, which can be estimated at about a few thousand, it was decided to isolate a specific “line” of works, in order to guarantee an adequate sampling of the phenomenon. This begins with the pioneering novels of the two-year period 1990-1991 and extends to 2020, the year in which the survey was closed. The “line” considered brings together a cohesive group of “immigration narratives”: mostly autobiographical novels and short stories in which the migratory journey and the living conditions of the immigrant in Italy are narrated. The plots are repetitive, with topoi constantly returning, and have a close link with the current events. The titles resemble each other, making the protagonist’s condition explicit (e. g. Immigrato, Il clandestino, Il profugo, etc.) or anticipating the theme of the plot (e.g. La tana della iena. Storia di un ragazzo palestinese, Dal Congo in Italia come in un sogno, Via dalla pazza guerra. Un ragazzo in fuga dall’Afghanistan, etc.). From a linguistic point of view, authors born in countries where Italian is a foreign language and who have learned Italian as adults after migration were privileged. This led to the exclusion of both second generations and postcolonials, for whom the Italian language (and culture) cannot be considered as completely “other”. The corpus consists of 156 works (78 novels, 37 short stories published in personal collections, 41 in miscellaneous anthologies), published in Italy between 1990 and 2020, written by 90 authors from 34 different states. The Third Part reports the results of the analysis conducted on this corpus. First of all, the graphic effect produced by the insertion in the text of “migratismi” and the ways to explain their meaning are studied. It is then detected the abundance of graphic variants, due to the recent acquisition of the voices, for which only rarely exists already a standard universally accepted form. A similar argument also applies to the grammatical class adopted in Italian. Contrariwise, the data relating to the languages of origin (over 30) and the most frequent semantic fields (primarily, gastronomy and religion) are more robust. Finally, the lexicographic works (usage vocabularies, new word supplements, neological databases) and the corpora used to consider the spread of “migratismi” are reviewed. The last Part consists of a Glossary, where the 526 “migratismi” identified in the corpus are alphabetically arranged. For each one, a sheet has been drafted to summarize the data analysis. The headword is the previous graphic variant among those found in the corpus, followed by the other graphic variants, the grammatical mark, the indication of the language of origin and the semantic field. A definition of the meaning is given from internal (notes or glossaries of the authors) or external (vocabularies or neological repertoires) sources. In the absence of sources, the definition is taken from the context. The central body of the sheet reports the occurrences of the “migratismo” in the corpus. The final part is dedicated to the comment and verification of the spread of the word. Overall, the Glossary conveys the idea of a good circulation of “migrant words” in contemporary written Italian, measured across various and diversified sources. The dialogue between attestations in literary texts and attestations in common language corpora turned out to be profitable in determining which words are already adopted, which ones are in the process of being adopted and which ones are scarcely or not at all circulating. At the same time, in the numerous cases of coexistence of multiple variants, the survey allowed to ascertain which is the majority and prevalent form.

Abstract:
In questa ricerca la questione principale riguarda la considerazione della figura di Gesù nella letteratura polemica ebraica anticristiana e il suo rapporto con la storia delle rappresentazioni di Gesù. Per fare questo, abbiamo scelto di prendere esempi appartenenti al periodo medievale e altomedievale, in cui la figura di Gesù è definita essenzialmente dalle riflessioni scaturite da due questioni, che riguardano il suo rapporto con la legge mosaica e la sua divinità. Nel multiforme corpus di questa letteratura, il Sefer Ḥizzuq Emunah di Yiṣḥaq ben Avraham Troqi (c. 1533-1594) ricopre un posto di primo piano. I temi e lo stile di questo testo non si distanziano in maniera netta dai precedenti, ma la fortuna di cui ha goduto negli ambienti cristiani ed ebraici, le diverse traduzioni di cui è stato oggetto e le reazioni che ha scaturito non hanno pari e ci dimostrano il grande rilievo dell’opera. Un’altra questione interessante per i nostri propositi riguarda la nascita e lo sviluppo degli strumenti del metodo storico. Ci si può chiedere se non sia il caso di collocare parte dei primi passi compiuti dal metodo storico, o qualche aspetto della sua evoluzione, non in un ambiente di ricercata obiettività, bensì nella controversia, ossia nella scrittura apologetica e polemica. Qui si vuole portare l’attenzione su una parte di produzione letteraria che non ha di certo il fine o l’intenzione di indagare e restituire la figura storica di Gesù, ma poiché quest’ultima diventa un mezzo che accompagna i propositi principali, appare necessario e importante considerarla. Inoltre, non è escluso che questo genere di produzione ebraica abbia influenzato l’approccio storico-critico che è stato applicato al Nuovo Testamento e che ha restituito una figura storica di Gesù.
This research focuses on the figure of Jesus in the Jewish anti-Christian polemical literature and his relation to the history of Jesus’ representations. I chose to draw examples from Middle Ages and Early Modern period in as much as the figure of Jesus is defined by considerations concerning his relationship with Mosaic Law and his divinity. In the multifaceted corpus of this literature, the Sefer Ḥizzuq Emunah of Yiṣḥaq ben Avraham Troqi (c. 1533-1594) has a prominent place. The themes and the style of this text is similar to earlier literature, but its reception in Christian and Jewish environments, the various translations it underwent, and the reactions that it provoked were extraordinary, validating the unprecedented bearing of this work. Another interesting question for our purposes concerns the birth and development of the instruments of the historical method. One may wonder if it is possible to place some of the first steps taken by the historical method, or some aspect of its evolution, not in an environment of objectivity but in the controversial literature, that is in the apologetic and polemical writings. In this work, I wish to draw attention to a part of literary production which certainly has no intention to investigate and return the figure of Jesus to its historical dimension; conversely, the figure of Jesus represents a tool that reinforces the deconstruction of the Christological figure, which constitutes an important element to keep in consideration. Moreover, we cannot exclude that this kind of Jewish production influenced the critical approach that has been applied to the New Testament and which has delivered a historical figure of Jesus.

Thanks to the joint supervision with the University of Caen and the experience of teaching Italian as a foreign language at the University for Foreigners of Perugia , it was possible to achieve a very original thesis that combines theory and practice of teaching. This is an educational tour of the Italian language , advanced level , which combines experimentally the literary text with the photo to involve learners in a linguistic and cultural reflection. After a stint in theoretical comprehensive review , which addresses the different uses of the image in the teaching of language and the relationship between photography and the literary text used for teaching the Italian language , research presents examples of educational activities and created ad hoc as well as a compilation of the results of the experiment in class. The thesis consists of three parts: the first is devoted to the use of images in general, and how they were used for the teaching of French and Italian in recent decades , and the second concerns relationship between photography and literary narrative . The third part , from a theoretical point of view, the practical ways in which literary texts and images may be used in the teaching of current Italian . In this final section , we present the results of the experimental teaching at the University for Foreigners of Perugia . The first part "Different use of the image in language teaching " an update on the role of photography in education. It begins with the distinction between illustration and photography by showing that for a long time both were misclassified as interchangeable , with the main role pedagogical support. to understand when and how the image ( illustration or photograph ) came in education, our research different courses veins methodological who recognized in the image in the photograph and a support learning in the teaching of french and Italian language. Abstract:
Il presente lavoro affronta il problema della traduzione dei termini culturo-specifici nella letteratura contemporanea di lingua tedesca ambientata nella DDR. L’analisi della produzione narrativa della Wendeliteratur consente di osservare come il lessico e le espressioni tipiche della DDR vengano utilizzati nelle opere letterarie in funzione citazionale per denotare e connotare la realtà della Germania dell’Est. Attraverso un approccio integrato che coniuga i contributi teorici degli studi sulla traduzione con gli aspetti della pratica traduttiva il lavoro indaga il tema dei realia attraverso una presentazione delle ricerche esistenti, propone una classificazione specifica per i realia della DDR e procede a una ricognizione delle strategie e dei procedimenti traduttivi concreti, che consente di evidenziare le diverse scelte adottate dai traduttori. Attraverso un’analisi ermeneutica dei testi e lo strumento dell’isotopia come indicatore di coerenza le traduzioni italiane delle opere della Wendeliteratur sono oggetto di un’analisi critica. I risultati dell’analisi vengono infine utilizzati come riferimento per la traduzione dei realia nel racconto di F.C. Delius, Die Birnen von Ribbeck.
Literature and realia. GDR-culture-specific terms in the Italian translations of Wendeliteratur Realia are expressions referring to culture-specific phenomena, which can only be understood in the particular cultural context in which they are embedded; consequently they lack a corresponding expression in the target language. In the works of contemporary German literature focusing on life in the GDR, the so called Wendeliteratur, realia are used with a “quotational” function to denote and connote the particular situation of East Germany before the fall of the Berlin Wall and in the period until Germany reunification. Starting from the existing works concerning culture-specific terms, this thesis proposes a definition of realia. Through an integrated approach joining together the different theoretical issues of the translation studies with the practical issues of the translation task, it then develops a specific taxonomy for culture-specific terms in the GDR and investigates the main translation strategies and concrete procedures through an analysis of the solutions proposed in the translated works. The different choices in the Italian versions are finally submitted to an analysis based on the isotopies containing culture-specific expressions. Realia are repeated through the text assuring its coherence, they constitute an orientation for the interpreting task of the reader/translator, they guide him/her to recognize the different levels of the textual coherence and to choose the most appropriate solutions, taking into account the different textual dimensions and the complexity of the translation task. The results of the analysis are used as reference points for the translation into Italian of Friedrich Christian Delius’ novel Die Birnen von Ribbeck.

The divine command issued to Abraham in Genesis 12,1: «Go (lek-lekà) from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you», presents us with a dramatic image of the human existence as it unfolds in the Bible and in the ancient Hebrew texts. It is a departure for an undisclosed destination from which there is no coming back, an act of unconditional trust. The patriarchs describe themselves as wanderers and nomads (see Genesis 47,9) and the road (derek), the way becomes a metaphor for life. True life lies beyond the known world; only those who take upon themselves to embark on a long and perilous journey will see the “promised land” towards which Israel’s and humanity’s adventure leads.

This chapter discusses modern Hebrew literature – from early 20th-century authors like Haim Nahman Bialik and Shmuel Yosef Agnon to more recent ones, such as Erez Biton and Ronit Matalon – as a ‘migrant literature’, whose history is rooted in a set of shifting physical and cultural geographies and in the circulation of people, ideas and styles from the Diaspora to the Land of Israel and viceversa. By conceiving modern Hebrew literature as a ‘migrant literature’, it is possible to better understand its inner heterogeneity and multilingualism, as well as its being part of a wide landscape of ‘Jewish literatures’ that cuts across Europe, the Middle East and other spaces.

Abstract:
The essay aims to outline the history of the teaching of Modern Greek at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice: it started with its foundation in 1868, with Costantino Triantafillis, and was interrupted for more than a century from 1890. This paper also deals with the history of the discipline from 1868 until today, with an eye on the connection with the political and cultural life of the country and on the relationship with other disciplines (such as Ancient Greek language and literature and Byzantine civilization). After an interval of a century classes of Modern Greek started up again at Ca’ Foscari in 1994-95 thanks to the teaching of Lucia Marcheselli Loukas. Since 1998 the teaching has been revived with a tenured professor and, in the last twenty years, it has trained graduate students and young scholars who today play a cultural and linguistic role of mediation between Italy and Greece.
