In our previous work, we designed a new joint system for humanoid sized robot. This system consists of a servomotor, a harmonic drive and a link unit. This link unit includes three components; polymer bushes, a metal cam plate and a metal camshaft. However elastic deformation of all-polymer bushes can cause a large backlash in the system. In the present work, a new bush was developed and its fatigue behavior was investigated.

On the other hand, additional dimensional deviations may occur, caused by ship body thermal or mechanical induced deformations. Both these deviations can be simultaneously compensat

But the economic potential inherent in autonomous buses is huge. In the Hungarian vehicle and crew scheduling practice (and also in other countries) the one driver-one vehicle control is typical. Abstract:
The Strait of Istanbul which constitutes one of the major and busiest seaways in the world links the Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara, it is a narrow “S-shaped” channel, open day and night for international shipping. Currents and darkness are the two dominant factors causing marine casualties in the Bosphorus. In this regard, Yenikoy and Umuryeri (or Umur Banki) are the two critical areas where most of the stranding and grounding casualties occur as vessels negotiate sharp turns (80° at Yenikoy, 70° at Umuryeri). The casualty case investigations reveal that in most of the incidents, vessels los

This research paper analyses the main purposes the Beijing subway system, which served from 1969 to now as a tool of political defense as well as a transportation system. The notion to construct the system arose in 1953, but the first section of today’s Line 1 did not open until September 1969.  Today, the Beijing subway system is the world’s busiest in terms of annual ridership and the world’s second longest subway system, ranking only behind Shanghai’s. ABBOTS in politics were surely a medieval commonplace, one might be tempted to say: what have these two egregious examples, Wala of Corbie (826–34, ob. 836) and Bernard of Clairvaux (1115–53), to say to us which countless others could not also say? If my two were not unique, however, they were comparative rarities, in that they became involved in politics (if that is the right word), not because of their feudal obligations, nor because they sought to propagate monastic reform on the basis of the observance of their own monastery, nor again because they associated the glory of their own house w

Introduction. Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a systemic progressive disease with an unknown etiology that may be related to the gut microbiome. Therefore, a more thorough understanding of its pathogenesis is necessary for directing future therapy. Aim. We aimed to determine the differences in intestinal microbial composition between healthy individuals and patients with AS who received and who did not receive treatment interventions. In parallel, the pathology of AS in each patient was analysed to better understand the link between AS treatment and the intestinal microbiota of the patients. Me

Abstract Introduction ITP is an autoimmune bleeding disorder characterized by accelerated destruction and reduced production of platelets. Steroids +/- IVIG are first line treatment, but there is no clear consensus on second line therapy. No randomized trials are available comparing the 3 most commonly considered second line options: thrombopoetin receptor agonists (TPO-RA), rituximab (Ritux) and splenectomy (SPL).This study used medical decision analysis, a mathematical Markov-model-based method, to compare second line treatments in adults with newly-diagnosed and persistent ITP. The three mechanical treatments were flail mowing, flail mowing and barring off, and vine snatching. The following chemical treatments were made: PREP, Diquat, Dessicate II, and 2,4-D at various rates.
