Objective: The study will investigate whether cash liquidity have a negative affect on profitability and share value of companies, listed on Nasdaq OMX Stockholm 2008-2011. Part of the purpose is also to show if the industry risk is of importance for treasury management of these companies. Method: The methodology for the study is key analysis through hypothesis testing and regression analysis Conclusion: The liquidity ratio affects profitability in a negative direction on the entire sample. No other conclusion can be drawn.
Syfte: Studiens syfte är att undersöka om kassalikviditeten har en negativ påverkan på lönsamhet och aktievärde, hos företag noterade på Nasdaq OMX Nordic Stockholm mellan åren 2008 till 2011. Delsyftet är att undersöka om branschrisken har ett positivt samband med kassalikviditeten för dessa företag. Metod: Metoden för studien är nyckeltalsanalys med hjälp av hypotesprövning och regressionsanalys, för företag på Nasdaq OMX Nordic Stockholm. Slutsats: Kassalikviditeten påverkar lönsamheten i negativ riktning på hela urvalet. Inga andra slutsatser kan dras.

Hereby presented diploma thesis "Financial analysis of ŠKODA AUTO a.s." introduces the financial performance of the joint-stock company ŠKODA AUTO and attempts to provide with comprehensive in-depth analysis and to determine financial situation over the period from 2009 to 2013. The work comprises two main parts- theoretical and practical. The first part discusses theoretical issues related to financial analysis and establishes framework for further implementation of methodology. It involves purpose and objectives of financial analysis, resources employed to conduct research and methods and techniques, namely, horizontal and vertical analysis, financial ratios and models for financial health assessment. The second part describes company profile, industry analysis and particularly focuses on implementation of financial analysis of ŠKODA AUTO. This research is processed on the basis of financial data derived from the annual reports of the firm, which are available for public. In order to evaluate the company's performance and demonstrate its development various approaches are applied. Specifically, I will implement trend and vertical analysis of the balance sheet and the income statement, analyze the cash-flow statement and compute the following financial ratios: liquidity, profitability, activity, debt and solvency indicators. In addition, DuPont decomposition of return on equity (ROE) will be presented. Furthermore, analysis of financial health and credibility of the firm represented by the Beaver Test, Kralicek Quick Test and the Altman-score model will scrutinize the company's stability, profitability and creditworthiness as well as assess the threat of bankruptcy. In the conclusion all results of conducted financial analysis are summarized and evaluated.

This master’s thesis deals with evaluation of the financial stability of a company and selecting suitable proposals for its improvement. Company’s financial data has been analyzed for years 2009 – 2012 using financial analysis methods. Theoretical part consists of methods of financial analysis and basic economic terms and it’s used for purposes of practical part. In the practical part are applied methods of financial analysis based on financial statements and internal and external surrounding of the company. In the end there are formulated possible economical proposals for solving important company’s problems, which influence all operations in the company.

This master thesis deals with the financial and commercial evaluation of the situation of the company Precheza namely using benchmarking. The work is divided into four main parts, where the first one is devoted to theoretical bases and information, whose knowledge is necessary for understanding the topic. The next chapter focuses on a description of the company and its situational analysis. The main part is devoted to benchmarking, which is the comparison of the chosen company with its major competitors. Final remarks of the thesis discuss the main findings and conclusions of the whole performance analysis as well as suggestions and plans for the improvement of the researched company.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis mainly focuses on the assessment/evaluation of external and internal surroundings/environment of a specific company between years 2012 and 2016. The first part of these defines theoretical constructs that are then applied in the practical part of the thesis. The external environment was analyzed using PESTLE analysis method and the Porter's Five Forces model. The financial analysis from 2012-2016 was used for the analysis of the internal surroundings. Based on the overall assessment/evaluation of the company surroundings/environment the author applies SWOT analysis and proposes several steps for the improvement.

The thesis focuses on a complete evaluation of the financial situation of a selected company. It is especially an application of the most popular methods used by financial analysis. The so-called elementary methods which are primarily ratio, differential and total indicators play a key role there. First part of the work is devoted to theoretical foundations, on which the financial situation leans; the second part is focused on a practical use of theoretical knowledge.
