Gauge/gravity duality is an important tool for learning about strongly coupled gauge theories. This thesis explores a set of examples of this duality in which the field theories have SU(2|4) supersymmetry and discrete sets of vacuum solutions. Specifically, we use the duality to propose Lagrangian definitions of type IIA Little String Theory on S⁵ as double-scaling limits of the Plane-Wave Matrix Model, maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory on R x S² and N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory on R×S³/Zk. Naaim et Gurer (1998) proposent une modélisation des avalanches de neige par le modèle dit « bi-couche ». L'avalanche y est décrite comme la superposition de deux couches : proche du sol une couche où l'écoulement est collisionnel, au dessus une couche au sein de laquelle l'écoulement est diphasique et turbulent. Ces deux couches ont chacune une dynamique propre distincte ; des échanges de masse et de quantité de mouvement ont lieu dans la zone d'interface séparant les deux couches. Baigiamajame magistro darbe atlikta Lietuvos ir Lenkijos gravimetrinių tinklų analizė. Apžvelgta IGSN 71 sunkio sistemos perdavimo metodika, išnagrinėtas gravimetrinių tinklų tikslumas. Pateikta informacija apie naujausią automatinį gravimetrą Scintrex CG-5, atlikta Lietuvos antrosios klasės gravimetrinio tinklo sudarymo metodikos detali analizė. Sudaryta gravimetrinių matavimų duomenų bazė, kuri gali būti naudojama gravimetrinių matavimų duomenų analizei. Abstract:
The impact of transport and climate factors on dust formation and causation on gravel roads was analysed in this work. The condition of cover of gravel roads, when the dust spreading is minimized, was estimated. As well, the quality of gravel, used to upbuild the road cover, was assessed. It was suggested to regulate the reduction of dust on gravel covers by selecting certain sectors of gravel roads, choosing means to decrease the dustiness and determining the order of their usage, as well, as regulating the performance of technological process and control of the quality.

Darbe ištirtas elektrofotografinių atspaudų laminavimo stipris bei pailgėjimas atplėšiant laminatą. Tyrimui naudota dešimt skirtingų popieriaus rūšių, šešios laminavimo plėvelių rūšys. Laminavimo stipris testuotas esant dažų dengimo plotui nuo 0 iki 400 % (25 variantai). Nustatyta, kad elektrofotografinių atspaudų laminavimo stipris yra mažesnis už švaraus popieriaus ir tolygiai mažėja didėjant dažų plotui. Laminavimo stipris taip pat priklauso nuo popieriaus ir plėvelės rūšies. Laminavimo blizgiosiomis plėvelėmis laminavimo stipris yra didesnis lyginant su matinėmis plėvelėmis. Šie dėsninguma

Sand- och grustäkter kan fungera som tillflyktsort för kärlväxtarter som är beroende av de torra och näringsfattiga markförhållanden som finns i sandmarker. Vapnö grustäkt i Hallands län undersöktes 2010 och visade sig ha en hög biologisk mångfald med bland annat 145 kärlväxtarter, varav fyra rödlistade. Atliktais tyrimais nustatyta, kad dulkių koncentracija kelyje su žvyro danga ir jo aplinkoje kelis kartus didesnė nei kelyje su asfalto danga ir iki 10 m atstumu nuo kelio viršijama leistinoji 0,5 mg m-³ koncentracijos vertė.
