Abstract:
This study of literary manifestos published around the year 1900 investigates their relationship to tradition. The conscious appeals to tradition which the manifestos include, as well as the lines of tradition which may be traced from one manifesto to the next, point to a certain continuity which puts their claims to a rupture with the past in relative perspective. The paper shows that in this respect the literary manifesto served as a model for the manifestos of the historical avant-garde.

Abstract:
The emergence of Spain as a world power in the early sixteenth century compelled a radical change in its language and literature. reflecting the country's global expansion, Spanish culture moved beyond its medieval belatedness to compete with Renaissance Italian culture, whose superiority was based on the humanist rebirth of ancient values. The cultural rivalry between Spain and Italy is documented in the prefaces that follow, written by the Catalan poet Juan Boscán (1490?–1542) and the Toledan noble Garcilaso de la Vega (1499?–1536). Through these poets' efforts, Spain became the first European nation-state not only to appropriate Italian versification and prose style but also to displace Italy from the political and literary spheres of power (King 240–41). The political and cultural significance of Boscán's and Garcilaso's revisionary poetics makes their prefaces the first literary manifestos of early modern Spain.

Abstract:
The paper deals with the features and functions of Russian Modernist manifestos. It is shown that proletarian writers adopted, refined and used in a specific manner for their own purposes some of the techniques implemented in the Silver Age theoretical declarations. This may account in part for the active use of the originally political term “manifesto” in the Soviet literary studies. In critical works from recent years one can observe a departure from this tradition.

Abstract:
In this article, we look at the genre of the manifesto and its possible uses in high school. First, we point out some basic characteristics of this type of text and link them to the idea of a “form of rebellion”. Second, we make a connection between teaching literature in school with teaching the literary events and facts as part of the so-called literary narrative, i.e., putting the phenomena into the larger framework of what is happening in the cultural context of the observed period. we propose a possible way of teaching the manifesto, based on an example of the aesthetico-theoretical work of Geo Milev, having in mind that the author has texts with the characteristics of a manifesto, not complete manifestos.

Abstract:
«Orange Alternative program texts and French surrealism manifestos » are a contribution to a detailed analysis of the Orange Alternative program texts in terms of surreal inspirations, many of which can be found not only in the Manifesto of Surrealist Socialism, but in Waldemar Fydrych’s books: Hokus pokus, or the Orange Alternative, written together with with Bogdan Dobosz in 1989. Żywoty Mężów Orangeowych- 2001, Krasnoludki i gamonie- 2006, Major- 2013. The author analyzes various levels of relations between the most important assumptions of the French surrealism contained in the manifestos and the program texts and literary works of Waldemar «Major» Fydrych, taking into account his ties with France. He mentions selected contexts of the activity of the New Culture Movement and the Orange Alternative, referring to the meaning of the characters, ideas and program content. He does not forget about the role of manifestos in the history of the European avant-garde (including the Manifesto of the Communist Party, but futuristic and Dadaist) and the universal dimension of the high-profi le slogans of surrealism, both in Europe and in Poland. He evokes the notion of «socio-political surrealism» and its universal dimension, as well as situates the actions of the Orange Alternative between Solidarity and the authorities of the time.

Abstract:
From the time of the Renaissance, treaties on architecture, odes to the arts, and the study of their canons through written sources, have served to defend, emphasise, or proclaim the validity of different artistic forms and styles. In this way, programmes and manifestos have reinforced the character of organisations and movements through their fundamental ideas. The artistic Avantgardes have thus used this literary resource to lay the theoretical foundations for their future artistic contributions, being able to justify without any qualifications their most extravagant occurrences. The Avant-garde manifesto shall therefore be considered a literary contribution written in the first place for the subsequent development of the artistic and creative activity of the group or school. The Surrealist Movement generated a lot of written work because the founders, André Breton, Louis Aragon, and Philippe Soupault, were writers. Some of these texts included the Movement’s two manifestos, periodicals such as Le Surréalisme au service de la révolution, Littérature, or Minotaure, and individual writings that were penned by Breton and Aragon. This study will relate the Surrealist written work with the Movement’s idea of the city and its urban imaginary.

Abstract:
War, one of the extreme situations in human history, brings ultimate fear to human. And in war manifestos(檄文) which are to be written for the purpose of declaration, oppression, and conciliation during wartime, this “fear” functions as an important factor for logic design. In this regard, this study aims to explore how this inevitable feeling during a war situation is treated in the literary field, particularly focusing on the war manifestos written during the Japanese Invasion of Korea. In Chapter 2, the study examined that the Japanese invasion of Korea aroused certain emotions - a vague ‘anxiety’ about war and a ‘fear’ towards a definite object. In Chapter 3, the study confirmed that propaganda informing general people of war situation and information about the enemy actually performed a function to develop readers' vague anxiety into definite fear and anger, by looking through propaganda(宣傳) strategies shown in the war manifestos written during the Japanese Invasion of Korea. In Chapter 4, it also confirmed that the contents of war manifestos written to soothe public anxiety and promote their participation in war and cooperation carried out a function to overpower(威壓) and blow away(揮發) readers' fear, by examining instigation(煽動) strategies shown in the war manifestos written during the Japanese Invasion of Korea. War manifestos written during the Japanese Invasion of Korea in order to prevent the collapse of the Joseon Dynasty is the product of human will(意志) not to be overwhelmed by uncontrollable anxiety and fear. And the propaganda and instigation(煽動) strategies in the war manifestos during the Japanese Invasion of Korea that raised others' will based on that will comes right from the logic of fear that triggers readers' dynamic emotional change. This study considered the war manifestos as ‘a writer's deliberate product to arouse target readers’ passion and behavioral changes' and examined the logic of war manifestos, particularly in association with ‘fear’. I hope that this study will be contributed to the development of more diversified war manifesto studies in future.

This thesis has as its objective to analyze "l'artedifarmanifesti" by F.T. Marinetti. Firstly, the outbreak of futurism is contextualized with the aim to conduct a reading of general characteristics of the pre-futuristic and futuristic Marinetti, passing through the gestation of the movement in the magazine Poesia. Secondly, with the support of the theory of literary genres, there is a tentative move to define the prevailing procedures which characterize a manifesto of Italian futurism. At last, some manifestos of the Italian futurism are presented and analyzed, such as the Fondazione e manifesto del futurismo and the Manifesto tecnicodellaletteratura futurista in basis, mainly with regard to the reflections of Giovanni Lista and of Claudia Salaris, added to the approach of the unfolding of the manifestos.

The objective of the following essay is to analyze the notion of magnetic fields between dream and reality, portrayed in the Surealism Manifesto of 1924 by Andre Breton (1896-1966), throughout inquiries on the theory of the unconscious of Sigmung Freud and the French modern poetic experience present in Charles Baudelaire (1821-1867), Arthur Rimbaud (1854-1891) e Paul Valéry (1871-1945). This careful reading of the propositions of André Breton s Manifesto lies upon the concept of surreality , restoring the author´s poetic-aesthetic notions in light of the experience of the First World War (1914-1918)

Abstract:

Abstract:
Informationist Science Fiction theory provides a way of analysing science fiction texts and narratives in order to demonstrate on an informational basis the uniqueness of science fiction proper as a mode of fiction writing. The theoretical framework presented can be applied to all types of written texts, including non-fictional texts. In "Informationist Science Fiction Theory and Informationist Science Fiction" the author applies the theoretical framework and its specific methods and principles to various contemporary science fiction works, including works by William Gibson, Neal Stephenson and Vernor Vinge. The theoretical framework introduces a new informational theoretic re-framing of existing science fiction literary theoretic posits such as Darko Suvin's novum, the mega-text as conceived of by Damien Broderick, and the work of Samuel R Delany in investigating the subjunctive mood in SF. An informational aesthetics of SF proper is established, and the influence of analytic philosophy - especially modal logic - is investigated. The materialist foundations of the metaphysical outlook of SF proper is investigated with a view to elucidating the importance of the relationship between scientific materialism and SF. SF is presented as The Fiction of Veridical, Counterfactual and Heterogeneous Information.

Abstract:
AbstractThis chapter elaborates how the cultural perspective of Chinese philosophy supports an interconnected worldview. The author elaborates how three fundamental Chinese traditional beliefs not only manifest in social life in China, but could make a decisive contribution to the emerging narratives around regenerative civilization. In Chinese harmonic philosophy, the assumption is that in their core all people are good and kind and that part of the social obligation is to grow by taking care and trusting each other, while protecting the essential human virtues in a harmonic atmosphere. In this philosophical tradition, personal development is not isolated from others, and it begins in the self and emerges gradually into the family-oriented self, then into the extended family-oriented self, and finally into taking responsibility for one’s organization, the community, and even the state, respectively, the globality of all people. All these layers are inseparably linked. The author suggests that China’s contribution to mastering the global challenges in the Anthropocene goes far beyond technological and political capacities to meet ecological, social, and ecological targets. The treasures of Chinese philosophy offer opportunities to reframe our views of reality in a way that may be much more in service of well-being on a healthy planet.

AbstractThe article focuses on literary lists the items of which demonstrate the practice of writing, that is, those which evoke a “writing-scene” (R. Campe). These poetological lists consolidate the self-reflexive potential of literary texts, gather elements of narration in list form, stage the conditions for a non-linear narrative in the list or even thematize the “genea-logic” of narrative and writing. Under consideration are four lists (all in the second half of the twentieth century) from the most disparate of genres: lyric poetry (Inger Christensen), the manifesto (Jack Kerouac), the novel (Italo Calvino), and the autobiography (Roland Barthes). Each of these lists reflects not only the process of writing and poetics but also genre specificity.

Abstract:
AbstractThis chapter highlights the often invisible political agendas behind lists (the “politics of the list”) and makes a case for reading lists suspiciously and symptomatically rather than “on the surface.” Based on recent work on formal approaches to literature, the list is understood as a cognitive form that elicits a range of affordances, depending on the context of use. To what extent a reading of lists in the novel can profit from such an approach is demonstrated by the example of capitalist discourse, which manifests itself through the list form in the novel from the nineteenth century to today.

Abstract:
Abstract The proliferation of authorial paratexts during the Romantic period was a reflex of two concomitant developments: the rise of a commercial book trade and periodical press, and the emergence of a mass reading audience. As reviewers wielded increasing influence under the aegis of ‘public opinion’, authors were impelled to address prospective readers in extended prefatory notes and pre-publication prospectuses which frequently exceeded their explanatory or apologetic functions by taking aim at both the marketplace and its self-appointed arbiters. Yet while these textual supplements encouraged readers to exercise their independence in assessing literary merit, their arguments—like those of their antagonists—rested on the assumption that literature should serve the moral interests of society. Percy Bysshe Shelley’s ‘Defence of Poetry’ thus earns its place as the Romantic era’s most radical statement of poetics by refuting the logic according to which a literary work can be assessed by the public effects it produces.

Abstract In 1908, Marinetti undertook his first attempts at founding a new literary movement, which he intended to name Elettricismo or Dinamismo. He was certainly qualified to function as the leader of such a school. He had achieved literary success with his poems, notoriety with his play Le Roi Bombance, popular fame with his many public appearances as a declaimer and agitator. If the free verse Arabic poem remains within the purview delineated for poetry in Arabic by its rearrangement but not abandonment of meter, the prose poem is the first poetic form to jump the fence of meter and make a claim of being poetry in unchartered territory. It established itself as a perpetuation of an “other” tradition, alternate and dissenting in its relationship to the established poetic aesthetic and became a subversive space from which literary, critical, ideological, and social institutions are challenged.

Abstract:
The article proves that imaginism has become a starting point for the formation of the ideas of a number of avant-garde literary groups, namely expressionists, “Moscow Parnassus,” nichevoks, neoclassicists, fuists, biocosmists. This fact stems from the self-awareness of imaginism as a trend that claims not only to carry out aesthetic experiments, but also to reform the worldview. The manifest statements of the imaginists (“Declaration,” “Eight Points,” “Manifesto,” “Appeal of the Imaginists,” the theoretical works of V.G. Shershenevich, A.B. Mariengof, S.A. Esenin) refl ect this intention: it is no coincidence that the vocabulary of struggle characteristic of this type of texts becomes non-obvious in them, being replaced by mortal vocabulary. The use of comic techniques in the program documents of imaginism is fundamental. This combination of serious and funny is also part of the program of the imaginists.

Abstract:
The article analyses how transculturality manifests itself in a Russian-language novel the Sweet Salt of the Bosphorus by Azerbaijani writer Elchin Safarli. Despite the author’s allusions to the Constantinopolitan text of the 20th century Russian literature, a range of specifics prevents one from referring this novel to the Russian literary tradition. Due to the symbiosis of two mentalities in Safarli’s perception of the world, this literary piece incorporates the following transliterary features of writing: the author’s specific bilingual consciousness, which unlike monolingual, particularly the Russian one, states that human’s destiny is predetermined by one’s personal choice and actions, and the reconstruction of an Azerbaijani view of the world by means of the Russian language, which at the level of poetics manifests itself in that the gustatory and olfactory components of perception become dominant form of the autobiographical character’s sensory reactivity and are an important key to understanding the author’s position.

Abstract:
We live in a world of interference between cultures. In order to understand other ways of thinking, feeling and acting, different strategies of spiritual assumption are needed, one of them being interculturality. Conceptually, the notion emerged as a result of the tendencies of universalism and globalization, but as a phenomenon interculturality has manifested itself periodically throughout history. The phrase intercultural education is found today in many discourses that are also related to education. The literary text has a major contribution to the formation of the skills and life skills needed in a world of multiculturalism. Or, the core of the intercultural education is the dialogue of cultures.

Abstract:
In this article, we propose a reflection on how (anti)racist discourses manifest themselves in language, especially in Lima Barreto's literary production. Using Foucauldian Discursive Studies (EDF) as a basis and in dialogue with Literary Studies, we analyzed excerpts from the author's works "Triste Fim de Policarpo Quaresma" (2015) and "Recordações do Escrivão Isaías Caminha" (2010), seeking to identify and report racist practices from the beginning of the 20th century and understand how they resist and persist today. Considering the literary text as a space for the materialization of discourses, the next topic proposes an analysis of the enunciative excerpts of Lima Barreto's works mentioned, exploring the controversial themes addressed by the author within the historical context in which they were written. Furthermore, the analyzes and data obtained will be used to reflect on possible connections with the present and the discourses of (dis)continuity of this literary object.

Abstract:
To analyze translations, we invented a quantitative assessment of the degree to which the translator preserves the original style of the author and produced a method that allows determining the degree of closeness of the translation to the original. Therefore, we adapted the information-theoretic method proposed for the attribution of literary texts. Afterwards, we used an adapted method to consider translations of literary works from English to Russian and from Russian to English. In result, we developed a method for determining the quality of a translation, considering that the translation is better when the more the style of the writer is preserved and the less the style of the translator is manifested.

Abstract:
Digital technology has enabled the predominance of visual communication and rapid and simultaneous image transmission beyond the original context. In the “culture of the image,” communication, identity formation, and social patterns are transmitted by image. Under such conditions, visual literacy is considered as elementary literacy and goes towards the critical reading of visual content messages. This situation has also prompted a reflection on the art education paradigm turn towards the broader concept of visual culture as a new socio-technological paradigm. The Croatian results of the Delphi method survey showed that most experts see the paradigm turn, from fine art to visual culture, because of technological changes in society. Technological developments manifested through the Internet, mass media, and social networks affect new generations testing and understanding the world in new ways, most often through technology. It is essential to change the content, practices, and teaching methods.

Abstract:
Computer literacy affects all areas of human life, and our subsequent control is almost inevitable nowadays. Due to the rapid growth of scientific knowledge and development of information and communication technologies, significant changes are taking place in individual countries. New technologies are coming to the fore through which there is an increase in country's economy, employment as well as labor productivity. To some extent, this fact is influenced by the ability of basic computer skills. This aspect is also important in terms of regional development at the national, regional and local level. The aim of the paper is to characterize selected indicator of computer literacy - internet work at three levels of Slovakia (state, district and municipality). The paper will be based by data from the Statistical Office of the European Union and Statistical Office of the Slovak republic. The methods of analysis, synthesis as well as graphical and cartographic methods will be the main methods used in the paper. Based on the achieved results, it can be stated that Slovakia achieved an average of 51.4 % in the development of internet use. It is very just above the EU average. At the regional level, the highest rate of internet use is manifested in the western part of Slovakia. At the local level in the case of the Nitra district, the internet was mostly used in the hinterland of the city of Nitra.

Abstract:
Within the Croatian intangible cultural heritage, traditions and customs, due to their specific functions, occupy a unique place in tourism. The oral transmission of tradition, the culture of memory is manifested in the contemporary application of traditional customs as the most vital model of duration, regardless of the new way of life in which traditional customs have lost their significance. This paper aims to highlight women’s role in tradition’s transference – a practice that belongs to women within the framework of intangible cultural heritage, but also female creativity which is closely related to sustainable tourism. Protected cultural goods of intangible heritage represent forms of cultural expression of particular importance in a certain area. Their historical roots testify to their exceptional value from a historical, artistic, ethnographic, sociological, anthropological, linguistic, or literary point of view. Intangible cultural heritage, which is passed down from generation to generation, provides a sense of identity and continuity and thus promotes respect for cultural diversity and human creativity. The paper aims to point out the role of intangible cultural heritage as a generator of destination development and the active role of women.
