Full textAt the begning of the century colonisation in the maghreb had a strident echo : the brutal contact between two different civilisations gave rise to a complete reversal of culture and local history. At the beginning of the 50's and with the appearance of liberation mouvements young their cultural and personal identity with respect to the orient, and the west which was no longer exterieur and unknown. Through their works they express the three dimensions of this identity : the past, the present and the future. Thus, this generation of early post independence writers started by writing personnal histories whose expression has tended towards a symbolic secularity as if to go against the tide of tradition towards a univers unknown even to them. Is their launching into literature by writing about their lives not also the taking of an opposite direction to western literature in which a biography is a celebration of a personal literary carrer ? the aim is perhaps to create a new cultural independence : independence from the oriental tradition and from the western autobiographical model. A young literature, young writers, a symbolic identity in the process of becoming independent and a history of literature impossible to write for the moment because of its youth : this is the general framework in which the author of this monograph will treat the subject of life histories in french and arab in contemporary moroccan literature

Full textThe research concerns Choukri's autobiography "For Bread Alone" as a starting point for a problematic study of Moroccan Literature. The first part outlines an history of this literature, from the ancient period to our days, dealing with the questions of colonisation, national identity, decolonisation, and plurilinguism. The second part analyses the Tangier's production in which Choukri's voice is the must representative one. The thesis evokes the historic, economic and cultural specificity of the town, to such a pass that Tangier has become a destination of Western authors and painters. From the presentation of a national literature, then it proceeds to the study of a regional literature, formed by Choukri's, Driss ben Hamed Charhadi's, Mohammed Mrabet's, ahmed Yacoubi's and Abdeslam Boulaich's works. Tangier's literature shows in fact specific writing styles and topics like hunger, poverty, marginality. The third part treats "Choukri's case" : an Arabophone author, illiterate until twenty years, has gained success by "For Bread Alone" Arabic manuscript's translations by the American Paul Bowles and the Francophone Tahar Ben Jelloun, before the text is published in Arabic. The Arabic "original" is compared to the English and French versions and the relationship between the vehicular languages and the spreading of emerging literatures is analyzed, dealing particularly with the controversy between Paul Bowles, Tahar Ben Jelloun, and recently Choukri himself, the issue of the authorship and that of the link between orality and literacy

Full textThe aim of this thesis is to present a rather complete study of Abdelhak Serhane’s novel Les Temps noirs, in order to highlight its literary aesthetic. After contextualizing the Maghrebi literature of French expression, the research is prolonged by a literary analysis of Les Temps noirs, then by a study of the Arab-French hybridity which underlies the literary writing of the Moroccan novelist. Finally, it is to the analysis of Les Temps noirs’s translation in arabic that this research work is dedicated, in order to study the passage of figures of hybridity in the text translated by the author of this thesis while relying on the theoretical and critical contribution of Antoine Berman

Full textKhourdigha region is not historically speaking as important as the fat plains of Tadla and Chaouia. This wide region is a transhumance because of climate and soil condition however, the basement of this region contains one of most important phosphate deposits of the word (by its volume and its quality) and working of this deposit will totally transform economical bases, but also demographical and social structures and the life of nomad in the past population was organised around them. Mining activity has created the basic infrastructure necessary to space life, looking like a desert and abore all, it has created the first populating seltlment, consequently the urban heart of Khouribga. Khouribga paternity comes from mining activity and its development is narrowly linked to the progress of phosphate economy. Neverthless since the end of the French protectorate in Morocco, followed by a big development of mining activity, Khouribga has expanded in a regular way

Full textThis research reminds us about Moroccan educational system throughout history. It tells us about the progress occurred since the independence period in arabisation, moroccanisation, unification and the time when school became a right for everyone. The implementation of French as a first language within the Moroccan primary school system has encountered quite a few hindrances so that it has resulted into the regress of pupils' level in French language and aroused parents' anger. The Moroccan primary school teacher hardly deals with linguistic, morphological and syntaxical problems of the French language. Teachers' training centers do not despatch high standard programs yet. The methods used, the programs taught, the pedagogical items and bocks are too old. This research may help the Moroccan primary school teacher to deal with French phonetic sounds, rhythm, intonation and the way they work together in comparison with Arabian phonetic. It also gives advice about the way French must be taught and how new words must be introduced in oral classes. Moroccan primary school teaches must be aware of the difficulties of the oral language and know what progression has to be followed for the first few weeks of the teaching. The second chapter introduces the way primary school teaches are taught how to teach French at school. The timetable, the methods used in training centers are hardly efficient. The didactic items used and the great numbers of pupils per class are obstacles to any kind of progress. The primary school teacher fails when he enters a countryside primary class whit pupils of different school levels, whit no electricity &water. This work may help him to make up his mind about his future as a French teacher
