Abstract:
Annotation. Introduction. The article examines the services of logistic outsourcing from the point of view of Ukrainian manufacturing companies, analyzes the results of the survey, compares them with global trends. It was determined that Ukrainian companies use logistic outsourcing less often than companies in other regions of the world. Also, the most often outsourced fields were identified. Purpose. Analysis of logistics outsourcing services from the viewpoint of Ukrainian manufacturing companies and comparison of survey results based on the survey with global trends. Results. It was found that from the list of enterprise groups classification (micro, small, medium, large) all categories use the services of freight forwarding companies. The following types of logistic processes are most often outsourced: transportation, lease and maintenance of equipment, warehousing, logistic chain optimization. It was found that among other countries in the study of third-party logistics, Ukraine occupies the lowest position in the usage of outsourcing services in logistics. The reasons for outsourcing logistic processes in logistics are significant: lack of own resources and capacity, cost reduction. The relationship between causes and logistic processes has shown that in order to reduce logistic costs in the enterprise it is necessary to outsource transportation. Conclusions. Statistical research has shown a small relationship between the areas of logistic outsourcing and the main causes of outsourcing of logistic activities. Therefore, it is not appropriate to say that some logistical measures should be outsourced and others should not. The mixed system, which combines the usage of own and third-party production facilities, is the most suitable for most Ukrainian manufacturing companies Keywords: logistics, outsourcing, third-party logistics, transport, warehousing, supply chain management, optimization, respondent, survey.

Abstract:
The purpose of the article is to substantiate logistics outsourcing as an effective mechanism for improving the efficiency of the enterprise.
The authors summarize the arguments and counterarguments in the scientific discussion on logistics outsourcing as one of the best methods of optimizing resources in the activity of enterprises, one of the important factors of modern business. Systematization of the results of the research of scientific sources made it possible to identify the problems of outsourcing use in various spheres of activity of economic entities. Systematization of studies of aspects of enterprise management based on logistic approaches has allowed formulating the statement that special value all over the world in logistics is devoted to outsourcing. For many years there is a tendency in this area to transfer a part or all of the logistics functions to specialized companies and outsourcing of logistics services is used by the vast majority of enterprises. Because, as higher the level of consumption in the country, there is more need to involve in the supply chain the goods of qualified logistics operators and transfer part of their operations to logistics outsourcing.
The authors estimate the logistic outsourcing of the enterprise of PE “VEGA LTD” for the method of Yu. Zhelinskiy, which combines the change of income and expenses of the enterprise. Based on the calculations, it is proved that outsourcing for PE “VEGA LTD” is profitable. Therefore, it is advisable to use outsourced services not only for transport logistics but also for other logistic activities of the enterprise.
In the process of investigating the problems of logistics outsourcing and its impact on the efficiency of foreign economic activity of the company, the authors proved that outsourcing in logistics is one of the most modern business models. The use of this approach makes it possible to achieve significant competitive advantages in the activity of the enterprise. The main motives that drive outsourcing of logistics functions are the desire to make the business manageable, reduce transaction costs while obtaining quality service and profit. The results of the study are of practical importance and may be useful to scholars interested in the study of logistical outsourcing, as well as to the enterprises where outsourcing is most commonly used.

This paper focuses on the determination and evaluation of the factors of logistic outsourcing. Many authors usually talk about logistics service outsourcing and its reasons and benefits as well, but if some functions of the service are not outsourced, we can not really entitle “outsourcing” as the whole service providing. In logistics activity if one or several functions are outsourced it is not always possible to entitle “logistics outsourcing”. In this paper outsourcing logistics criteria are described. The results of the survey among traders in Lithuania of outsourcing logistics are presented as well.

Abstract:
The problem of forming the distribution network results from the need to harmonize the characteristics of efficiency and efficacy of the supply chain with the corporate competition strategy. In this sense the possibility of optimising the distribution network has been presented (on a mathematical model) by applying the logistic outsourcing. The optimisation has been carried out using MS Excel software tools Solver. The results of the analysis have shown that possibilities for the reduction of distribution costs need to be searched for primarily in the domain of transport, in the target segment of the distribution network. The improvement elements have been achieved by outsourcing part of the supply chain, i.e. by introducing the cross-docking system which is managed by the external supplier of the logistic services. Quantitative changes, apart from the redistribution of the traffic of logistic and distribution centres and the reduction of logistic costs, have been reflected also in the geographical arrangement of distribution. The logistic outsourcing had dominant impact on the formation of the distribution network. KEY WORDS: distribution network, optimisation, logistic outsourcing

Abstract:
It has been proven that modern information and logistic technologies are the most important resource of the post-industrial society. It was proved that not every enterprise has a possibility to ensure its information and logistic activities using its own capabilities, so the possibilities of using outsourcing systems are becoming especially relevant. General features of outsourcing of information technologies and logistic services were determined. The most important of them include the mandatory existence of interaction between a supplier and a customer regarding the business processes of an enterprise. It was substantiated that several important types of outsourcing are used in the area of intellectual innovation activities of enterprises: complete and partial outsourcing, outsourcing of a joint type, outsourcing of the intermediate type, outsourcing of intellectual and innovative type. The method for synthesis of indicators of economic efficiency of outsourcing of information and logistic services of direct and indirect action for the economic evaluation of its effectiveness was proposed. This approach makes it possible to fully evaluate the benefits of outsourcing in comparison with the variant when they are implemented by an enterprise using its own capabilities. The basis of the proposed method is the ratio of indicators that reproduce the advantages obtained due to outsourcing. The implementation of this method makes it possible to ensure an important relationship between the process of development of information or logistic service and the required quality. Studies conducted at the enterprises of the Kharkiv industrial region showed that only three out of eight studied enterprises have economic grounds for using outsourcing. From the economic point of view, it is more expedient for other enterprises to carry out information (logistic) provision of their activities using their own resources.

Abstract:
This study aims at identifying the determinants of adoption of outsourcing logistic functions in Manufacturing and Trading companies in Sri Lanka. After careful review of the existing literature perceived cost effectiveness, quality concerns of logistics outsourcing, perceived risk and perceived professionalism of logistics service provider were identified for the study as their high theoretical and empirical importance in determining outsourcing decision. Primary data was collected by means of semi structured questionnaire from 60 organizations that carry out manufacturing and trading businesses in Sri Lanka. The collected data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple and multiple linear regression analysis. Initial simple linear regression analysis proved the statistically significant impact that each of the identified variables have on the adoption of outsourcing. However the multiple regression estimated in this study to analyze the collective effect of the suggested model concludes that the decision makers perception about the cost effectiveness of outsourcing and their perception of risk of outsourcing better explain the adoption of outsourcing in Manufacturing and trading sector in Sri Lanka. Hence, the outsource decision depends on the careful assessment of the decision-making company on its cost effectiveness and possible risk. Therefore, the findings of the present study suggest that outsourcing partners should be carefully selected in order to get the benefit of outsourcing.

Abstract:
The purpose of the present paper is to contribute to better knowledge of consumer logistics and consumer preferences. This aspect of logistics is to our mind rather unexplored, but seems to be very important for the development of logistics companies. The paper is confined to the logistics executed by the younger population. The main goal of the research was to identify the factors influencing students’ readiness for outsourcing their logistics. Further, the survey aims at developing an instrument for measuring the scope and structure of the students’ logistics and the share of their mobility which they would be ready to have executed by the suppliers of logistic services. Two segments were statistically analysed: social-demographic data and the diary of travel behaviour. Among twenty-two independent variables, the results highlighted ‘length of journey’, ‘time necessary for the execution of logistics’ for the purpose of: ‘giving a ride to neighbours’, ‘shopping for consumer goods’, ‘change of residence’ and ‘entertainment’. Interestingly, it was ascertained that the more time the students travel by car, the more logistics they were prepared to outsource. Finally, the survey methodology applied might serve as the basis for further research into the market of logistic services as well as other aspects of consumers’ preferences referring to their logistics. Based on this, new means of public transportation might be designed and offered by various localities.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to develop a theoretical framework involving dependence, relationship commitment, logistics outsourcing and service quality to exhibit the roles of the relational factors involved in logistics outsourcing and their outcomes. Design/methodology/approach – Based on data collected from 361 companies in Greater China, the authors use the structural equation model approach to examine the hypothesized relationships. Findings – Both normative and instrumental relationship commitment are necessary for third party logistics (3PL) users to cope with their goal dependence on 3PL providers. However, only normative relationship commitment is necessary when users perceive switch dependence. Normative relationship commitment also plays a more important role than instrumental relationship commitment in facilitating the adoption of 3PL logistic outsourcing. In addition, both basic and advanced outsourcing practices have a positive effect on service quality. Originality/value – This study contributes to both 3PL theories and practices by clarifying how relationships between 3PL users and providers in China are managed.

Abstract:
At present, there is much difficulty in choosing appropriate logistic outsourcing service for enterprises, which may even result in logistic failures. One major reason for that is the lack of strong theoretical guidance in logistic outsourcing and in the choosing of a service provider that is adapted to the enterprises development. To solve this problem, this paper constructs the indexes system of service provider choice and evaluation based on the following four aspects: logistic cost, logistic operational efficiency, service provider’s individual quality and capability. The analytic hierarchy process is used in the selection of service provider. And company Z is taken as an example in the calculation. By doing so, this paper constructs a comparatively integrated framework for the selection of logistic outsourcing service provider, perfects the evaluation system of it and provides enterprises with a set of scientific evaluation methods in choosing service provider.

The level of the collaboration of third-party logistics users and logistic service providers are elaborated in Turkey. The synergy which is expected to come out after this cooperation seems to be lacking. Therefore the industry of Turkey is operating by carrying the opportunity cost of this synergy. The purpose of this paper is defining the reasons of the necessity of third-party logistics (3PL) using and exploring the reasons of being reluctant to this kind of collaborations. An empirical study is conducted in industrial organizations in Turkey. The research is designed according to the structure of the Turkish companies and the main issues of the logistics. Semi-structured interview are used to collect information and learn the opinions of the managers of the companies. The responses from 7 logistic service provider companies and 10 from some other randomly selected companies were evaluated at this explaratory research, 17 valid responses are analyzed. According to findings of this study, the expected synergy does not seem to be able to appear before the removement of some prejudices and embracing the modern and effective methods. The aim of this study is to identify the decision should be made by the company to manage their reverse logistics activity. In this study, the company should decide whether the reverse logistic activity must be outsourced part of reverse logistics activity or all must be outsourced or nothing must be outsourced. The object of this study is PT. XYZ - a foreign-owned electronics company and there is four scenario for reverse logistic activity proposed by the company. This study uses a graph-theoretic approach as the method to consider interdependencies and maintaining the hierarchical relationship among attributes and sub-attributes which is important to determine the best scenario of reverse logistic. The attributes and sub-attributes were selected by combining four traditional balanced scorecard perspectives with two perspectives of sustainability, i.e. environmental and social. This research used primary data collected by distributing closed questionnaires to the management of the company. The data processing with a graph-theoretic approach generates the permanent function which is known as the outsourcing index for each scenario. The outsourcing index for first until the fourth scenario is 52.71, 70.97, 89.86, and 81.27 respectively.

Abstract:
In globalizing world which removed all the borders, and thus transportation of goods with minimum price is required. Up to the present, there has not been found any solution instead of transportation. Turkey, as one of the world countries, giving preference transportation (passenger or cargo) by road has increased the cost of logistic sector. The being 95 % of road transportation in all transportation systems and not to care about other ways of transportation has caused much loss of life and property every year. The importance of logistic industry in recent years has begun to be noticed and tried to be renewed by many people. In this study, improving logistic sector and logistics management in Turkey and outsourcing were overemphasized. So, failures were analysed and looked for any way to solve problems. In actuality, to bring down the cost and compete with other companies, we have to get under control the transportation and discipline it. Also, it shouldn't be forgotten that outsourcing will cause competitive advantage in transportation sector. The service quality of outsourcing depends on the expertise of the instution. In addition, container transportation system which has made progress since the 1980s has become very significant. Container transportation that is from a port to port raised the importance of harbours more. Container transportation system has led to the emergence of the concept of ''terminal''. Thanks to container terminals, logistic services have become economic, efficient and more secure. Especially in our country, as a result of privatization, a large part of ports have been transferred to private companies and these companies have made necessary studies for bottom structure of their ports and pave the way for working properly. And this can be a good model as a development of logistic sector in our country.

Abstract:
This paper empirically investigates the potential benefits of outsourcing humanitarian logistics activities to commercial logistics service providers (LSPs) to improve rescue missions in the Al Zaatari Syrian refugee camp in Jordan. The study uses a quantitative research approach, a survey data set of 140 questionnaires was collected from the managers and managerial staff dealing with logistical activities. First, a comprehensive review of related literature was performed to guide this research and then to test the main hypotheses of this study, correlation and regression analysis were carried out. The findings confirmed that humanitarian organizations in Al Zaatary camp can get benefits from collaborating with LSPs on delivering primary logistic services (shelter, food, medicine, transportation, etc.) (Nurmala, de Leeuw, & Dullaert, 2017). Moreover, the findings showed that outsourcing is preferred in the response phase (Vega & Roussat, 2015). This paper contributes to the growing body of knowledge on humanitarian logistics in ways that fills a gap by empirically investigate the phenomenon, as well as it is considered well timed in the context of the still current situation due to political instability in the region. As far as the authors are aware, this research represents the first study within the humanitarian logistics sector in Jordan.

Abstract:
The paper examines the impact of family and size on accounting outsourcing decisions and interactions between those variables. Based on a survey from German and Polish companies, we employ Bayesian logistic regressions for testing hypotheses and interactions of independent variables. The results support the hypotheses and indicate the combined influence of family firms and, therefore, family-social perspective and size on accounting outsourcing decisions. Larger firms are less likely to outsource financial and managerial accounting regardless of family influence, but in smaller firms, more significant family influence results in a lower likelihood of accounting outsourcing. This paper addresses a topic missing from the literature on the combined effects of size and family on accounting outsourcing (including financial and management accounting outsourcing at the same time).

Abstract:
Given the current economic climate, many companies are considering outsourcing some activities to reduce costs and to focus on their core competency; thus, by adopting a competency-focused approach they enhance their chances to survive in a growing and competitive market. Third-Party Logistics (3PL) is a system that facilitates logistic activities. First, however, the organizations need to assess which companies are suitable for outsourcing. The aim of this paper is to depict a structural system for 3PL selection and validate it in real-world automobile companies. We use the Delphi method to determine criteria for 3PL selection and apply Evaluation by an Area-based Method for Ranking (EAMR) to prioritize the candidate alternatives. This method is used in combination with a Shannon Entropy based approach for determining the required weights. Computational analysis shows which criteria and companies have high priority, and based on that candidate alternatives for outsourcing are evaluated. The results suggest how automobile companies select 3PL companies and allocate their work to them.

Abstract:
The article explores theoretical and methodical aspects of managing dual relationships that arise between participants in logistic cooperation in the process of formation and functioning of supply chains. The use of a behavioral approach to defining supply chains has allowed identifying and justifying the priority role of behavioral factors that influence modern logistics entities and determine the effectiveness and long-term satisfaction with logistics cooperation. Given the literature summary, the study has classified types of cooperation in logistic activity and proved that among the behavioral factors influencing the of logistical cooperation efficiency, the trust is of particular importance, which remains a limitation, a bottleneck in the process of formation and development of dual relationships in logistics chains. It is proposed to introduce a generic indicator, namely the level of confidence in the supply chain to assess the social, economic and strategic aspects of logistics interaction. A methodological approach to assessing the level of trust in logistic cooperation was adjusted based on determining the composition of criteria that directly affect this indicator and using the expert survey of supply chain participants. The study proposes to use the confidence indicator to form and improve networks and supply chains, taking into account its value when constructing a generalized outsourcing model.

Abstract:
The importance and the position of mediators in the logistic business operations are generally determined through identifying logistics as a set of important business activities. Accordingly, this paper is designed so that the general characteristics of the logistics providers in the Western economies are presented in its first part, while the second part contains a short critical review of the condition of the logistics outsourcing market in our country. The text essentially refers to emphasizing great differences in both the general logistic knowledge and in the specific characteristics of the logistic mediation between the Western markets and ours. So far two kinds of mediation have been identified in the world: 1) Third party logistics (3PL firms) - partial, i.e. incomplete logistics mediators and 2) Fourth party logistics (4PL firms) - complete logistics mediators basing their activity on the full supply chain. In our country we succeeded in identifying only transport firms and/or shipping agencies as the logistics mediators with a rather limited scope of activity; and as their activity's name implies, they are performing only one or two logistics activities.

Abstract:
AbstractIn India, Manufacturing companies are primarily being concentrated on the production activities which led to drastic improvement of outsourcing logistics process to third party logistics (3PLS), consequently a strong outsourcing logistics can be observed over the next two decades for the development of a company. It may therefore be noted that the enhancement and extrusion are necessary in order to effectively asses risk and opportunities. To achieve this, the best logistics service provider which leads to the growth of organisation and industry has to be selected. The present work aims at the integration of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) in Fuzzy environment. The integration is carried out with more consistency while evaluating and selecting the best Logistics service provider based on ten coordination criteria viz. Custom Clearance, On Time Delivery, Number of Customers Handled, Placement Percentage, Tracking Status, Service Quality, Solving of Issues, Collecting Proof of Delivery, Region and Price. Fuzzy AHP is used to calculate relative weights of each coordination criterion. Logistics service providers are ranked based on closeness coefficient, calculated for each LSP using Fuzzy TOPSIS. By this method the LSP5 has selected as best logistic service provider among the seven LSP for battery manufacturing company.

The capital and technology transfer into a certain region leads also to increased demands for logistic services. The transition to the logistic delivery organisation is very important under the conditions of accelerated technological development, in particular in the field of telecommunications and informatics, which enabled the advent of successful companies having a single employee. Owing to the mentioned technologies these companies get networked with similar companies, thus being able to solve all their needs by outsourcing the services or products of other networked companies. Higher speed and greater flexibility of operation of such companies has brought the following challenge: larger number of small companies has created a larger number of small orders that have to be delivered within the same unit of time. The logistics and distribution centres can represent a solution which maintains the speed and efficiency, and avoids costs of congestions and delays. Abstract:
Cloud storage has been recognized as the popular solution to solve the problems of the rising storage costs of IT enterprises for users. However, outsourcing data to the cloud service providers (CSPs) may leak some sensitive privacy information, as the data is out of user’s control. So how to ensure the integrity and privacy of outsourced data has become a big challenge. Encryption and data auditing provide a solution toward the challenge. In this paper, we propose a privacy-preserving and auditing-supporting outsourcing data storage scheme by using encryption and digital watermarking. Logistic map-based chaotic cryptography algorithm is used to preserve the privacy of outsourcing data, which has a fast operation speed and a good effect of encryption. Local histogram shifting digital watermark algorithm is used to protect the data integrity which has high payload and makes the original image restored losslessly if the data is verified to be integrated. Experiments show that our scheme is secure and feasible.

Abstract:
Outsourcing data in clouds is adopted by more and more companies and individuals due to the profits from data sharing and parallel, elastic, and on-demand computing. However, it forces data owners to lose control of their own data, which causes privacy-preserving problems on sensitive data. Sorting is a common operation in many areas, such as machine learning, service recommendation, and data query. It is a challenge to implement privacy-preserving sorting over encrypted data without leaking privacy of sensitive data. In this paper, we propose privacy-preserving sorting algorithms which are on the basis of the logistic map. Secure comparable codes are constructed by logistic map functions, which can be utilized to compare the corresponding encrypted data items even without knowing their plaintext values. Data owners firstly encrypt their data and generate the corresponding comparable codes and then outsource them to clouds. Cloud servers are capable of sorting the outsourced encrypted data in accordance with their corresponding comparable codes by the proposed privacy-preserving sorting algorithms. Security analysis and experimental results show that the proposed algorithms can protect data privacy, while providing efficient sorting on encrypted data.

Abstract:
Outsourcing some of the logistic activities is a useful strategy for companies in recent years. This makes it possible for firms to concentrate on their main issues and processes and presents facility to improve logistics performance, to reduce costs, and to improve quality. Therefore provider selection and evaluation in third-party logistics become important activities for companies. Making a strategic decision like this is significantly hard and crucial. In this study we proposed a fuzzy multicriteria decision making (MCDM) approach to effectively select the most appropriate provider. First we identify the provider selection criteria and build the hierarchical structure of decision model. After building the hierarchical structure we determined the selection criteria weights by using fuzzy analytical hierarchy process (AHP) technique. Then we applied fuzzy technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) to obtain final rankings for providers. And finally an illustrative example is also given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed model.
