Abstract:
Due to the rapidly changing global markets and the impact of digitalization, businesses must continually seek new opportunities to enhance their competitiveness, including the logistics principles application. While logistics alone may not grant substantial competitive advantages, its strategic alignment with key competencies, continuous improvement, and the application of logistics engineering principles can significantly enhance an enterprise's competitive standing. The article aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of logistic engineering and its potential to revolutionize enterprise competitiveness management. The primary hypothesis of this research postulates the conception of logistic governance as the creation of an institutional environment that imparts logistic principles and philosophy to all participants. In doing so, it ensures the selection and generation of superior logistic practices among those available in the market. Choosing these best practices and integrating them with dynamic capabilities promotes competitive growth within an enterprise. The selection of best practices is adjusted within the logistics governance framework, which is proposed to be considered a new theoretical concept. Providing additional hypotheses in connection with management's focus has aided in developing a high-level model for logistical engineering. This model highlights two critical processes: an operation process activated by an event timer and the subsequent logistical engineering process. The result of this sequence is the creation of institutional rules for the logistics system, thus establishing an overarching framework. This enhances the system's efficiency and adaptability amidst varied business situations. Keywords: logistics engineering, integrated supply chains, competitiveness management, logistics governance

Abstract:
Modern trends in production management have increased the importance of the time factor in both production and logistics. However, there is much less room for maneuver in production than in logistics. Therefore, to reduce the duration of the main production cycle, many companies are trying to improve intra-production logistics by introducing new technologies and logistics systems. Of decisive importance for production management is the activity of supplying the necessary materials, including logistics operations. In this context, it is worth mentioning that at the present stage the basic links between production management and logistics have been concentrated by specialists in a new field that has been defined as logistics management. According to the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, “Logistics management is an integration function that coordinates and optimizes all logistics activities, as well as integrates logistics activities with other functions, including marketing, sales production, finance and information technology”(Supply Chain Management Definitions and Glossary, 2020). We believe that the concept of logistics management best meets all the links between production management and logistics.

Abstract:
Logistics problems are gradually becoming more complex and a better understanding of logistics management as a subject is a key to deal with the new challenges. A core element of logistics management is logistics planning, which substitutes for low customer service levels, high waste, and the use of buffers and slacks in the execution of logistic activities. Furthermore, the availability of information and problem-solving capabilities are established as the core parts of logistics planning. Based on this, in this paper, a conceptual model for the management of logistics planning is proposed and discussed. In this regard, the model is built on ideas from microeconomics.

Abstract:
Nowadays, companies offer various logistics services to their customers. Diversity of these services is essential for business. The range of services that logistics companies cover depends on various factors; it can be solely transport, but can also be a complex service that includes organisation of raw materials delivery, warehousing, delivery of finished goods to customers and dealing with documents like invoices, waybills and others. The increasing popularity of logistics in services is noticeable. This is connected with global changes. This is a complex phenomenon that connects aspects and features of services and logistics. The three most important areas for logistics in services are: minimisation of waiting time, management of service potential and service delivery. The goal of this article is to reveal the difference between these two subjects and review the literature connected with them. The main conclusions are that logistics services can be seen as belonging to logistics in the services phenomenon. In every area of logistics in services, three phases can be distinguished: supply, production and sales. Germany has the leading position in Europe when it comes to the logistics services market. Dynamic changes in logistics have led to the development of a new classification of logistics enterprises. The European Commission is analysing changes in the sector in order to prepare new strategic objectives.

Abstract:
Military logistics as a specific area of logistics management makes the difference between a well-supplied and self-sustainable army which due to an efficiently created supply chain, can perform it’s military actions more efficiently, and an army that, due to insufficient commitment to military logistics activities creates an inefficient army that is cut off from food, water, and other basic resources without which the army can’t function. The specifics of military logistics make this area of logistics management special, formally separated, but essentially very close to the field of business logistics. The aim of this paper is to point out the features that distinguish military logistics management from business logistics management, but also to point out the complexities and limitations that military logistics bring with it. The key determinants of the difference will be presented through the organization of the logistics supply chain, the subjects, participants and goals it involves, but also the risk, the corresponding law, logistics process management approach, innovations, organization systems, and the basic methods of transportation that military logistics brings with it. The given specifics need to be analyzed and compared with the key features of business logistics, where through the examples from practice will be pointed out the points of contact, but also the key differences between these two areas of logistics.

Abstract:
Logistics cost management is associated with certain specific challenges, since increasing the quality of logistics services for customers often comes with increased logistics costs. In addition, reducing the costs of one logistic component causes an increase in the costs of another logistic component, which results in higher total logistics costs. Various cost models have been developed to support the optimisation of logistics activities, which represent the main focus of research and a key practical tool for logistics management. The purpose of the study is therefore to determine whether current scientific studies are addressing the issues related to logistics cost management. The aim of the study is to determine the scope of the optimisation of individual logistics models from the point of view of how individual logistics costs categories and processes are treated. The analysis of logistics costs management issues provides an important empirical foundation for the improvement of logistic processes in supply chains and synthesises scientific literature in the field of logistics cost modelling, which represents an important framework for future empirical studies.

SENYK, Yurii. "CHOOSING THE APPROACH TO BUILDING A THIRD-PARTY LOGISTICS (3PL) LOGISTICS CHAIN MANAGEMENT." Herald of Khmelnytskyi National University. Economic sciences 322, no. 5 (September 2023): 367–73. http://dx.doi.org/10.31891/2307-5740-2023-322-5-58.

Abstract:
The paper analyzes the main criteria for choosing a “3PL” in the context of the “JIT” approach. The choice of “3PL” is an approach to analyze many tangible and intangible criteria that must be considered based on the client’s specific needs, goals, and specifics of the production process. The selection criteria of “3PL” depend on the field of activity of the third-party executor. A company looking to outsource inbound logistics focuses on operational factors such as the firm’s available capacity, equipment quality, and the process’s financial benefit. The choice of criteria for choosing firms for outsourcing logistics processes may be related to the location and availability of additional services in the company. The algorithm for building cooperation between companies is analyzed. The choice of “3PL” is problematic because it requires considering many criteria of different vectors – from the technological considering the economic side of production to the social consequences for the company, which is confirmed by various research areas. Several practical algorithms were analyzed to determine the optimal method of implementing the voluntary participation of companies in research. An AHP structure for choosing the best warehouse operator is considered, which visualizes the relationships between elements and displays their hierarchy. The constructed hierarchy logically represents a complex, multifactorial decision-making process and effectively describes the relationships between all elements of the evaluation system. Hierarchy facilitates the understanding of the principles of evaluation and consensus in making the final decision regarding the selection of warehouse space. Moving goods along the logistics chain is accompanied by significant risk. Requirements for logistics providers are constantly increasing and may go beyond the parties’ contractual obligations in times of crisis. That is why logistics service providers constantly decide how to ensure the maximum reliability of logistics operations at any point in the logistics chain. The choice of “3PL” is problematic because it requires considering many criteria of different vectors – from the technological, taking into account the economic side of production, to the social consequences for the company, which is confirmed by a wide variety of research areas.

Abstract:
Logistics supply chain system management is the integration of key business processes from end user through original logistics suppliers that provides products, services, and information that add value for customers and other stakeholders. Logistics supply chain is a network of suppliers, factories, warehouses, distribution centers and retailers where the raw materials are acquired, manufactured to products, which then are delivered to consumers. Fierce competition in global markets and the heightened expectations of consumers have forced business enterprises to invest in and focus attention on, the relationships with their customers and suppliers. Interest in supply chain management has also been growing in the industry both in developed and developing countries. Along with the occurrence of several catastrophic events in supply chains, risk management become more and more important. However, participants in the supply chain are separate and independent economic entities, and only consider their own benefits. The international logistics risk management problems are studied in this paper.

Abstract:
In most developed economies the costs of logistics management are steadily growing and account for an increasing proportion of the gross national product. Logistics costs have become an important part of the added value of products and logistics management is increasingly regarded as an important weapon in the international competitive struggle, in particular by large market‐oriented companies. The emphasis in marketing strategies is shifting from product and price to promotion and place. Rapidly changing customer demands have an increasing effect on company policies. Reduction of product life cycles and assortment expansion will lead to faster development and delivery of new products and to smaller‐sized and more frequently placed delivery orders. Advancing technology will cause production to require more focus. Customers are becoming more demanding and manufacturers have to react faster to changing demand on the part of both private consumers and industrial customers. This requires enormous flexibility, which will be increasingly aimed at conquering and securing sales potential in the liberalized European market. Successful companies will focus on core activities. Activities other than core activities, but serving them, will have to be outsourced.

Abstract:
The logistics profession has undergone severe changes over the last few decades, replacing muscle power with brain power. The virtual aspect of logistics has become equally important to the physical realm of transportation and warehousing. Supply Chain Management (SCM) deals with getting the right stuff to the right people at the right time in the right amount. To accomplish this task there are a number of more or less integrated logistics software application. Demand forecasting models based on historical data from data marts and data warehouses with built in seasonality and pricing models. Load planning software to appropriately palletize, containerize and load trucks and vessels. Route planning software with real time traffic and weather updates to reduce time and fuel costs. Electronic documents to accompany the shipment from purchase order, letter of credit to customs clearing and back-haul charges. Logistics software has many aspects and may be viewed differently from a software developer and user perspective. This study compares the perception of logistics software by management information systems (MIS) and logistics management students (Logistics) in Thailand. Some of the aspects include: user friendliness, ease of use, features and benefits, technical limitations.

Abstract:
The work highlights the issue of using the modeling method in inventory management of hierarchical logistics systems. The issue of the necessity of inventory management modeling as one of the key parameters of distribution logistics is substantiated. It has been proven that the hierarchical logistics system can generate flow processes according to Poisson’s law, which makes it possible to apply the theory of mass service systems in the formalization of the processes of incoming supplies of resources to replenish the stocks of the logistics center with further distribution of flows among regional branches. This method is based on obtaining optimal characteristics of the intensity of supply of resources in the section of a specific nomenclature, subject to restrictions on available working capital and the formation of a reserve stock for maintenance of repair works.
