Abstract:
Study on magnetic properties of iron sand on the Logending beach sand has been done. The research aims to identify the mineral content and characterization of magnetic properties on the Logending beach sand. The irond sand samples taken from the Logending beach with several lokation. Sand then dried, determined density and magnetic content is separated using a permanen magnet. The iron sand were analyzed using XRD ( X-ray difraction) and characterization of magnetic properties using the VSM (Vibrating sample magnetometer). The research shows that minerals are contained hematit (Fe2O3), with a value of susceptibility is 0.43 x10-6 m3/kg. The main magnetic mineral of iron sand from logending beach is paramagnetic.

Abstract:
<p>W początkach XIV stulecia ruch lokacyjny wsi i miast na prawie niemieckim dotarł do ziemi lubelskiej. Pierwszym miastem tego terytorium, które zostało zmodernizowane według modelu lokacyjnego, był Lublin. Podstawę prawną tej inwestycji, prowadzonej przez Macieja, wielkorządcę krakowskiego i sandomierskiego, a zarazem wójta dziedzicznego w mieście Opatowiec (ziemia sandomierska), był przywilej lokacyjny księcia Władysława Łokietka, wystawiony „pod Krakowem” 15 sierpnia 1317 r.</p><p>Do tego czasu Lublin był zespołem osadniczym, złożonym z kilku osad zlokalizowanych na wzgórzach: Zamkowym (gród), Staromiejskim (osada protomiejska), Czwartek, Żmigród. Inwestycja miejska była prowadzona na Wzgórzu Staromiejskim o obszarze 7 ha, gdzie przeprowadzono rozplanowanie według układu szachownicowego, znakomicie wkomponowane w kształt tego wzgórza. Powstała też gmina miejska, która miała się rządzić prawem magdeburskim, na czele której stał wójt dziedziczny Maciej. Obywatele miasta otrzymali liczne przywileje, m.in. zwolnienie na 20 lat od podatków na rzecz księcia i wolność od opłaty cła na terenie jego państwa.</p><p>Proces lokacyjny trwał także za panowania króla Kazimierza Wielkiego. Wówczas powstały liczne budowle murowane, zbudowano też mury obronne. Lublin był wtedy nadgranicznym ośrodkiem etapowym wielkiego handlu oraz bazą dla wypraw króla na Ruś. Jego rola szybko rosła po unii polsko-litewskiej z lat 1385–1386, gdy znalazł się w centrum monarchii Władysława Jagiełły, między Polską, Litwą a Rusią, pełniąc funkcje centrum wymiany handlowej oraz zjazdów elit politycznych obydwu państw, polskiego i litewskiego. W ciągu XV w. awansował do grupy najważniejszych miast monarchii Jagiellonów.</p>

Abstract:
U radu se uspoređuje naglasak u lokativu i dativu jednine kakav propisuju hrvatske gramatike s naglaskom u istim oblicima u nekoliko štokavskih govora. Na temelju istraženih govora pokušava se i donekle razjasniti razjedinjenost gramatika u pogledu rekcije prijedloga prema. Utvrđuje se da je razlika između dativa i lokativa u većini štokavskih govora očuvana samo rudimentarno. Što se tiče prijedloga prema, uviđa se težnja da u onim govorima kod kojih postoji razlikovanje dativa i lokativa, kratke jednosložne osnove n. p. c a-vrste imaju s tim prijedlogom silaznu, a duge osnove uzlaznu intonaciju. Na kraju se rada daje nekoliko razloga za ukidanje i protiv ukidanja lokativa.

Abstract:
Temeljna su područja rada našeg slavljenika Ivana Zoričića normativna akcentologija i popularizacija hrvatskoga jezika i jezične kulture. Zoričić je objavio jezične savjetnike pod naslovom Hrvatski u praksi i Tragom jezičnih nedoumica. Stoga mu mi posvećujemo ovaj rad koji je nastao na temelju referata održanoga 2007. godine na kongresu u Varaždinu. U ovome radu dajemo pregled nekih neriješenih problema hrvatske jezične norme. Mnogo je problema koji u savjetnicima i ostalim normativnim priručnicima nisu obrađeni. S druge strane, još je više problema koje obrađuju gotovo svi normativni priručnici, a koji su riješeni nedosljedno i proturječno. U ovome radu riječ je o trima jezičnim dvojbama koje različiti normativni priručnici različito rješavaju. Te su dvojbe: je li prema dativni ili lokativni ili i dativni i lokativni prijedlog, koji padež/koje padeže uvode prijedlozi nadohvat i nadomak te kakav je u standardnome jeziku navezak pridjevnih riječi muškoga i srednjega roda u dativu i lokativu. Pokazujemo kakav odgovor na to pitanje daju različiti normativni priručnici te dajemo svoj prijedlog odgovora na postavljena pitanja.

Abstract:
SUMMARY Kuryiowicz (1964) argued that the dative is "genetically nothing else than an offshoot of the locative used with personal nouns". But his hypothesis remains speculative because it is based on similarities of form within IE, not upon historical or typological evidence. This paper offers support for Kurylowicz's hypothesis. Specifically, it suggests that there is a cross-linguistic pattern linking the dative with animacy of nominal referents and the locative with inanimacy. The link is reflected in (1) the complementary distribution of dative and locative on nominals of different animacy values and (2) a marking pattern whereby dative nominals take less morphological marking when referents are animate and locative nominals take less marking when referents are inanimate. RÉSUMÉ Selon Kuryiowicz (1964) le datif 'n'dtait, génétiquement, qu'une excrois-sance du locatif utilisd avec des noms personnels'. Mais son hypothèse restait spéculatif parce qu'elle ne fut basée sur des similarités formelles à l'int^rieur de l'indo-europ6en et non pas sur une évidence historique ou typologique plus générale. Le présent article donne appui à l'hypothèse de Kuryiowicz. En par-ticulier, on suggere qu'il y a à travers les langues un modèle qui relie le datif avec l'animacité des référents nominaux et le locatif avec l'inanimacit6. Ce lien est rcfi6t6 dans (1) la distribution complementaire du datif et du locatif des noms avec des differents valeurs d'animacitd et (2) dans un modèle de marquage selon lequel les noms au datif prennent moins de marquage morphologique lorsque les référents sont animés et les noms au locatif prennent moins de marquage lorsque les référents sont inanimés. ZUSAMMENFASSUNG Kuryiowicz (1964) stellte fest, daß der Dativ, 'genetisch gesehen, nichts ande-res ist als ein Nebenprodukt des Lokativs, der mit Personalnomina verwendet wird'. Seine Hypothese blieb jedoch spekulativ, weil sie allein auf formalen Ahnlichkeiten innerhalb der indo-europaischen Sprachen beruhte, und nicht aber auf allgemein historischen oder typologischen Beweisen. Im vorliegenden Aufsatz wird Kurylowicz's Hypothese weiter ausgebaut. Insbesondere wird nahegelegt, daft es über viele Sprachen hinweg Muster gibt, die den Dativ mit belebten Dingen verbinden und den Lokativ mit unbelebten. Diese Verknupfung zeigt sich (1) in der komplementaren Distribution des Dativs und des Lokativs bei Nomen verschiedener Belebtheitswerte und (2) einem Markierungsmuster, bei dem die im Dativ stehenden Nomen morphologisch weniger markiert sind, wenn die Referenten belebt, und die im Lokativ stehenden Nomen weniger gekennzeichnet sind, wenn diese unbelebt sind.

Abstract:
Abstrak Penelitian ini berfokus pada dua hal pokok: (1) menjelaskan secara semantis, jenis peran lokatif dan hal yang ada pada peran lokatif dalam bahasa Inggris; (2) jenis verba yang mengharuskan adanya peran lokatif dalam bahasa Inggris. Data diperoleh dari novel “the hunger games”. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan teknik distribusi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) secara semantis, peran lokatif terdiri atas peran lokatif statis dan dinamis. Peran lokatif dinamis dibagi menjadi: sumber, lintasan dan tujuan, (2) kata kerja yang membutuhkan kehadiran peran lokatif dalam bahasa Inggris dibagi menjadi dua jenis verba: kata kerja transitif dan intransitif. Selain itu, kata kerja transitif dan intransitif dibagi menjadi empat jenis: keadaan, proses, tindakan dan proses-tindakan. Kata-kata kunci: Peran lokatif, novel the hunger games, kajian semantis AbstractThe research focuses on two main points:(1) explain semantically, kinds of locative role and case that presence in locative role in English; (2) kinds of verb which requires the presence of locative role in English. The data are taken from this novel. This research uses descriptive method with distributional techniques. The result of this research shows that: First, Semantically, the roles of locative consist of static and dynamic locative role. The dynamic locative role is divided into: source, path and goal. Second, verbs which require the presence of locative role in English divided into two kinds of verbs: transitive and intransitive verbs. Moreover, transitive and intransitive verb are divided into four kinds of verbs: state, process, action and action-process verbs.Keywords: Locative role, novel the hunger games, semantic study

In this paper, I investigate the syntax of the prepositional phrase in Danish and the locative pronouns her ‘here’, der ‘there’ and hvor ‘where’ in e.g. hertil ‘hereto’. I argue that (a) the directional adverb p is a functional head that projects a pP on top of a PP and takes this PP as its complement; that (b) the locative pronoun moves via an intermediate position within the prepositional phrase before it leaves the prepositional phrase; and that (c) the preposition moves to p (P-to-p-incorporation).

Abstract:

I det här arbetet presenteras en studie från ett projekt som ägde rum i Kolmården djurpark sommaren och hösten år 2003. Projektet bygger på ett uppdrag från jordbruksdepartementet. Det handlade om huruvida grävlingar i fångenskap reagerar i olika stressande situationer. För att kunna undersöka detta har grävlingarnas naturliga beteende studerats under fyra perioder från juni till september samma år. Det som studerats under perioden är grävlingarnas olika beteenden, lokationen i grävlingshägnet samt fysiologiska parametrar så som hjärtfrekvens och kroppstemperatur hos grävlingarna.

Observationerna har i huvudsak skett nattetid och då genom filmning med kamera med IR-belysning. För att kunna mäta hjärtfrekvens och kroppstemperatur opererades en sändare in i grävlingarna. Grävlingarna är nattaktiva djur som vanligtvis vilar under dagen. De är mest aktiva under våren och sommaren och därefter avtar aktiviteten successivt fram till vintern när den går i vila. De tillbringar minst tid i sina bohyddor under sommarperioden och när hösten kommer uppehåller de sig mer och mer i hyddorna. Grävlingarnas kroppstemperatur ligger på ca 37 ° C men sjunker när hösten och vintern närmar sig. Hjärtfrekvensen varierar mellan 50 och 120 slag per minut beroende på hur aktiva de är.

Abstract:
The locative suffix -ni: In this article we discuss two hypotheses about the origin of the locative suffix -ni. The better known hypothesis (Raum 1909; Meinhof 1941/42) assumes that the suffix -(i)ni developed out of a class 18 demonstrative, though the details of the assumed phonological changes have never been made clear. The competing hypothesis by Sacleux (1939) suggests that locative nouns with -ni started out as compounds with the noun ini `liver´. We think that this second hypothesis is phonologically more plausible and that it also accounts for the specific link with the meaning of class 18 `inside´. Comparison of the spread of the locative suffix -(i)ni and of the word ini `liver´, together with other historical considerations, point to Kiswahili (or Sabaki) as the most likely origin of this locative suffix.
